My family and I have me going here for many years and it’s been nothing short of awesome! Recently my two younger siblings got an eye exam and new glasses. The front desk lady was very helpful, honest and great at what she does! She let them know ahead of time the frames they picked were too big for their faces and would be sliding down before they made their final choice, which was very helpful and honest. Them being teenagers, they wanted them anyway lol. No other eye care place has ever been so honest about that, they just kinda let you buy them if you want them without any extra comments on what is best for you. Very awesome place!
Great place to get your vision exam and glasses at the same time. There is an ample supply of frames to choose from. I visited on a Saturday and they took me in for my appointment on time. Dr. Reed gave me a complete and thorough eye exam and explained my issues to me to my understanding. The front desk staff is helpful and friendly.
Excellent small optometrist and small eyeglass store that competes well with larger stores. Fast service, great frames selection. Dr. Reed is meticulous and finds things other optometrists miss. For me he recommended different glasses for when I am working on the computer. Worked wonders. No other optometrist ever suggested this.
I was impressed with Dr. Reed and the staff at my initial exam. However, they have made repeated commitments to follow up on a referal for cataracts and have never done so. I told Dr. Reed personally on 5/17/21 that I wanted to do business with them even though they were not price competitive, but I thought they would be the best choice. He personally told me he would get back to me today and just like his other staff commitments did not follow through. Too bad the entire organization just doesnt care. I guess insurance payments satisfy them to the extent they dont have to provide good service. Costco or Warby Parker-here I come!Update-Dr. Reed called me back and was very apologetic for his organization not following up. I appreciate his professionalism and time spent finding me well recommended provider to take care of my issue.
Dr. Reed went above and beyond to help me with my injured eye. He got me in on short notice and provided me with excellent care. I highly recommend.
Ordered glasses and they came in wrong. I commented they did not seem right when I picked them up. I paid $200.00 PLUS what my insurance paid for impact resistant, blue filtering, transitional lenses. I was given the basic plastic insurance lenses. When I brought them back the Dr. has the nerve to attempt to guilt me for being frustrated. Saying that he will own the issue offered to have them re-done, and when I said no he simply took back the insurance paid lenses and replaced my old lenses in the frames. That is NOT owning it.... AVOID THIS PLACE>
Super nice folks who are doing great work at a fair price. And, no long waits in the lobby after the scheduled appointment time (a pet peeve of mine). Overall very happy.
My husband had a business trip and due to being recently diagnosed with diabetes his vision rapidly deteriorated. With a long drive ahead he was so very concerned. They fit him in same day emergency. The doctor was kind, concerned, and extremely helpful. He worked EXTREMELY hard, harder than any eye doctor to get him lenses so he could drive safely for his trip. Excellent eye doctor, safe covid consideration, and goes ABOVE and BEYOND. Thank you!
New front desk lady is super nice! Dr. Reed is very thorough and is mindful of budget constraints! He really is quite knowledgeable and will answer all of you questions! Great experience!
My experience with Dr. Reed and his staff was excellent and I can recommend the service and care. I am less exited about the quality of the frames. I needed bifocals and selected a frame not suitable for bifocals because it was too small. I think the staff should have advised on that. Although I was able to pick another larger frame as replacement the replacement frame was not what I had picked, once the glassed came back I received a silver frame I would have never selected. The only thing that matched my selection was the color of the ear pieces.
Dr. Chris Reed is amazing! I had LASIK in 2005 which worked well for many years. But for the past several years, I have not been seeing clearly. I explained the situation to him and he offered me several options for correction. I decided to try a mono-vision contact in one eye. It is perfect! I can see clearly now! (cue the music) Thanks Dr. Reed!
Love this place, never have any issues Dr is always on point with the vision problems it always has the right contacts for me, the place is always cleanThank you guys for making my visits always remarkable 👍🏼👏🏼😊
I ordered and paid over $200 for contacts three months that ago and still have not received them. Ive called and gone into the office multiple times and they always say theyll be in next week. Ive even told them I need my money back and no response! I am now out of contacts. Do not give them your business! You may get a nice eye consultation, but youll never see your glasses or contacts, or your money!
My family and I have been coming here for years. Dr. Reed is totally awesome. He is very professional and always thorough when explaining the process of the eye exam and the results. It’s make it even better that they are open on Saturday for the patients convenience! If you need glasses or contacts, he’s your guy!
I’m a first time customer and a last time customer. Nice doctor but very unorganized! My contacts were not ordered on time which delayed me getting them 2 weeks later! They make empty promises and tries to smooth it over by offering extra samples. That doesn’t work if the samples don’t fit properly!
Dr. Reed was able to see my 3 year old and was so kind and patient with her. The staff was wonderful too. I’ll definitely be bringing the whole family back for our eye care.
I have seen a lot of eye doctors, and have never been more satisfied than I am with this practice. The office staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. Reed takes the time necessary and explains everything. I highly recommend them.
Really impressed with the level of care I received from Dr. Reed. I have been coming to this practice for years as Dr. Reed was the only eye doctor who was able to help me with my seasonal itchy eyes. I had seen other eye doctors including ones down the street at Costco and during the eye exam none of them were ever able to help me with my itchy eyelids. Then I found Dr. Reed at Altamonte Eye Care and he was able to help immediately with the problem. For years, he has been my go to for glasses and contact exams and prescriptions. And he always gives me some trial contact lenses to make sure they are the right fit before I order.I will say that recently his front office team could be a little better with organization and ordering my contact lenses - had a few not so perfect experiences but overall I am really impressed by how much he has been able to help. And they even shipped contacts to me when I was living in NYC. There is also typically almost no wait time to be seen. I think the most I have waited is about 15 minutes.
A 1 star rating is being incredibly generous as I could not submit this review with out a star selection. This was my first and most definitely my last experience with this provider. I have never, ever written a negative review for any service or a purchase before in my life, which should alert any reader as to how bad this experience was. After 3 consecutive months and 3 eye appointments within this 3 month period, this provider could not get my eye exam prescription correct at all, which ended with a full refund of the cost of the lenses and coating I purchased from them. While waiting for one of these eye exams, I had heard another customer come in to inform the front desk attendant that their daughter could not see through her new glasses from this provider. So, This seems to be a trend. After 2 times trying to update the lenses in my Kowasaki frames purchased at a different provider, he or the lab he used completely screwed up my original lenses so terribly that the original provider who I used to purchase these glasses could not reset the lenses back onto the frames again. Additionally, my eyesight is not bad to warrant multiple eye exams and not being able to provide me with an accurate prescription, and now to boot, after returning the original lenses back to me after requesting a refund for the lenses and coating I was charged for by them, and now find out that my original lenses are ruined, makes this choice to go to this provider continue to be painful. I concur with the other reviewer that the office is disorganized with piles of files, papers and boxes everywhere. Also, I had paid for 4 boxes of contacts and were only given 2 boxes. Thank goodness I reviewed my receipt! One would expect the attendant to check the order when giving it to the customer to notice the shortage. When I called to inquire why I was shorted the 2 boxes, the attendant stated, this happens all the time and offered to order the other 2 boxes. Had I not notice, I would have contributed to their rent. There is not enough room in this review area or time for me to write each and every issue I have with this provider and what a disaterous and frustrating experience using this provider has been, but want to provide details of my experience so anyone else looking for a new provider can be well informed by way of this review before selecting this provider for services.
Really happy with the eye exam I had by Dr. Reed to get a new prescription for contacts and new glasses. Convenient hours. Was seen within a few minutes of getting there. Able to get an appointment quickly.
The front office staff were really nice but I was not a fan of Dr. Reed. I told him multiple times that I only wanted glasses but he kept pushing the contact lenses. He was really rude about the fact that I didnt want contact lenses. It made me uncomfortable and just wanted to get the exam over with. I will be getting my eye exam else where next year. Just ordered my glasses today so well see how long it takes.
Great doctor and friendly staff. Ive been going to Altamonte Eye Care for about 7 years and the doctor has always been helpful. He knows how to explain whats going on in a friendly manner. The staff is always friendly as well. I definitely recommend them!
Dr. Reed literally saved my daughters life. She had blackouts for 2 years and three neurologist and several MRIs and nothing. No doctirs could figure out why she was blacking out. When it was here routine annual exam Dr. Reed found my daughter (16 years old) had swelling behind her eyes. Her retina was inflamed. I took her to the neurologist which my daughter had to have an emergency lumbar puncture. Here brain pressure was above 50 when the norm is 7-14. My daughter couldve had a brain aneurysms. We caught it right on time. I thank God first then Dr. Reed. Some eye doctors just do fast exams. He took his time. Thank you so much Dr. Reed!!❤️
My family and I have been patients for years, over the last 2 years it has been very difficult to deal with the office staff. Though Dr. Reed appears to be nice and under stress from his staffing issues, I have learned that he is full of excuses and likes to dump all of his problems related to his staff and practice on his patients. Over the last 2 years it has taken weeks for myself and my family to get an eye appointment or to refill contacts. The last straw for me was I had an appointment about 6 weeks ago for contacts and new glasses. I paid for 3 months worth of contacts and also paid for new lenses for my glasses. 6 weeks later Im still waiting for my lenses for my glasses. I finally got to the point where I just wanted my money back for the lenses. After expressing several times with Dr. Reed why I wanted a refund, he agreed. I am still waiting for my refund..3 weeks later and every time I call to follow up he says, its in the mail. Along with he cant remember why he is giving the refund as well as his staffing issues..again. I finally advised him that if I do not have my refund along with my prescriptions to go elsewhere, I will contact my insurance company because Im sure they have received money from them for my products that I have yet to receive.
Doc was good at his job and staff is friendly, the visit was pretty quick. It took 2 months to get our glasses in which is ridiculous, should only take 4 weeks if the lab is busy.I have to give them a 1 star because after waiting 2 months to get my glasses they completely screwed up my prescription. I put on my new glasses, my script barely changed, and I couldnt really see everything was distorted like being in a fun house. I know it can take time to get used to a new pair of glasses so I did. I tried them for a few days at home over the weekend and it did not get any better.I went back to my old glasses to I could see properly again. The doc is good but their lab sucks and at the very least screwed up my new glasses. I wont be going through them again.
I really loved the doctor at this office. I never had any negative experience with delays in orders or issues with waiting. Not that I would mind waiting as the doctor really takes time to make sure he gets everything right. He was also the only eye doctor I ever had who could tell me why the underneath part of my eyelids get itchy and prescribe drops for it. Even if they are a bit more expensive they are worth it. They provide quality service!
I have been going to Dr. Reed for years and he is one of the best eye doctors that I have ever used! I have terrible vision, and over the years, no one has ever brought me back to near perfect vision in my contacts until Dr. Reed! I have always struggled with my vision until now. Very pleased!
Bad customer service, dishonest, and not helpful to patients. They just want as much money as possible. So greedy. Im getting my glasses elsewhere and never coming back.
Needed Glasses fast and Dr.Reeds staff scheduled me for the same day ! He was awesome worked with me and even fit me for Contacts !
I had an appt at 330, arrived on time but left at 415 because they still had not seen me, not took me back or anything. The dr still had his previous pt in the room, who he did not take back until after my appt time. The people in the lobby that were leaving said it took 2hrs and 45mins for their appt. A customer came in while I was there to complain he ordered glasses 5 weeks ago and they keep giving him the run around. 2 other customers picked up their glasses while I was there and the employee accidentally gave the customer the pair she ordered and someone elses, the customer called when she got home to tell her. After all this and the wait time I knew this was not the place for me.I confirmed that there is often a wait time this long for visits and that if I wanted a shorter wait time I should book on Saturday as the 1st appt. After lunch.I suggest they get a better appt scheduling plan and not make people sit and wait for 45+ minutes just to be seen.
They were open on Saturday, however when I got there they were running over an hour late... Not cool on a beautiful Saturday! But, the doctor was very helpfull and worth waiting for :)
My second visit to Dr here very nice and clean quite friendly staff welcoming
Rude and very condescending! The front desk staff are unorganized and very unprofessional! Even talked about me (in whisper) with me standing there! I need glasses...Im not deaf! The doctor knows his stuff but he also can be very rude!
Best eye care and staff. Dr. Reed is the nicest eye Dr around.
Wonderful service provided and staff was excellent! Got my contacts in very quickly and I would definitely recommend my family and my friends to see Dr. Reed.
Absolutely worst customer service ever, I paid over $200 for glasses and have not received them yet. The staff had multiple excuses for the issues but still I have not received the product I paid for. I have been told on 4 occasions that my glasses were ready but every time I tried to pick up there was something wrong with the glasses ( lenses broke, prescription wrong twice, werent there ).I would not recommend this place of business to anyone.
This place has horrible service water over 1 hour and a 30 min and still did not get seen so we left and also bad vibes in that place
Maybe something changed but the staff was extremely helpful with every step of the process including helping my indecisive self pick frames without pushing the most expensive glasses on me. Would recommend and will come here next time I get an exam and pick up contacts.
Dr Reed takes a sincere interest in my vision health.
If I could give negative stars I would. My daughter and I had our exams on December 28th. Both for glasses and contacts for myself. We were told 3-5 days for my daughters glasses and up to 2 weeks for mine plus the sample pair of contact lenses. For a large and long list of reasons it was almost 3 weeks for my daughters glasses and those are fine. I got my glasses nearly 5 weeks later and at the time I picked them up I mentioned that the reading portion was not clear, but I was told to it takes time to get used to them - regardless of the fact that I had been in bifocals for years.Several weeks later and living with day after day after day of exreme headaches I went back again - first to see if the trial pair of contacts were in yet - which they were not - and to talk about the glasses again. I could NOT read or see the computer with these glasses on - they were adjusted higher on the nose and again I was told to give it a few weeks for my eyes to adjust.I have called the office a total of 4 times and been in the office 3 times all to check on the status of my trial pair of contact lenes and discuss my complete inability to use the glasses I paid for the end of December. My last visit in the office was March 13th where the Dr came out himself to apoligize and offer another round of excuses for me STILL not having the trial pair of contact lenses. I was personally assured they would be ordered and they would call me within the week to come in for the trial contact lenses and he would re-do the exam with the glasses I am unable to use and he would do anything it takes to make it right. All this with a list of excuses from bad former employees to being busy to the weather.Today is April 8th and I have yet to get any call, my trial pair of contact lenses paid for with the exam or anything to resolve the pair of glasses that I can not use.Needless to say I DO NOT recommend this office unless you like paying for things you never get or cant use and love to hear excuse after excuse after excuse.
The first time I went the lady was on a personal call and didnt acknowledge that I was there after a few minutes I said excuse me I have an appt she put her finger up and said one sec. When she got off the phone finally I ask her if theres anything I needed to fill out being that it was my first visit she then pointed to the papers that were on the counter as if I was suppose to know that was new patient paper work. She was extremely rude.
Always liked the doctor no matter how many times I move from Altamonte I keep coming back
Called to see if the accepted my insurance and the lady on the phone told me that she was by herself and didnt have time to look it up, needless to say I thanked her and moved on to the next one : )
Would nt return again . Its been about a month and I have not received my glasses in proper shape. Most terrible eye care in my neighbourhood .
3 weeks later my son still has no glasses. I have called multiple times to be told they will call me back with an answer and yet to receive one call back. So unprofessional and I will make sure to contact my insurance provider to make a complaint.
Straight up liers they said it would take 10 days for my glasses to come i got them a month later
Worst service ever. My glasses are so cheap that they broke in a month and according to the center they costed me $200. Very bad quality. Please do not visit here
Dr. Christopher knows whats up.
The receptionist is very lazy does not care about customers
Great experience
