Shop elsewhere, this place will not negotiate and will also EXTREMELY lowball trade-ins. I wanted to trade a fully loaded Explorer ST and they offered $50,000. Told them thats not reasonable and went to CarMax instead. They gave me $57,000.On a positive note, Aaron, my sales person was a pleasure to deal with. Unfortunately, we didnt close the deal even though I had full intentions of leaving with a new Challenger. No blame on Aaron, but rather on his greedy financial manager.

Just wanted to say that Whitten Brothers of Ashland Lied to me on several occasions.I stopped in to get a key code pin and was told that the information was for dealers only and couldnt be provided to owners of vehicles. That was the first one,,the second one was that the information was only provided for in shop services...I left and went to a business that cuts keys. They told me that there are other dealers to call. I called and found another dealer..Sure they said just bring proof and information of ownership. Ill never deal with Whitten again

Test drove a car, but did not purchase due to the awkwardness we received from Whitten Brothers in Ashland. Didnt even give us a business card... We did not feel welcome 😕Went to Nissan, warmly invited and got everything we needed😊
I brought my 2017 Jeep Patriot in for work that should be covered under powertrain warranty,( I was charged 140 dollar diagnostic fee.) They did not even look into the problem I brought the car in for, instead they told me that a rodent had chewed through the wiring harness and they would not address the actual problem until they fixed it. They told me the work would take 3 hours to complete and that they would charge me 140 dollars an hour. I said no thank you to their service and took my car to another mechanic who determined that there was no damage to the wiring harness. I tried to get in contact with the service manager but have received no reply to my messages. They also told me they would charge me another 140 dollar diagnostic fee if I brought my car back after the non existent issue was fixed. Beware

I had to buy a new truck in a short period of time, I visited at least 15 dealerships in the process. I had several salesman give me the hard sell, three even stated that if I dont buy a truck right then and there I was wasting their time. Tom Coleman at Whitten bros was by far the most professional of the people I dealt with. He took the time to listen to my needs, and rather than show me random trucks for me to buy, he picked one that he felt suited my needs best, and was a good value. Car Guru rated the truck a fair buy, far better than the other dealerships I visited were rated on their inventory. Tom brought the truck over to Ashland, and he was right, its a great truck. I had another truck I was considering at Haley near the airport, after me and a friend compared it to the Whitten truck there was no comparison, the Whitten truck was a way better value, and a way better truck. 2 year old truck with less then 25k miles on it started having issues with engine not turning over when first starting it up. Took it to Whitten brothers twice now and both times they claim they can’t consistently replicate the issue enough to warranty a part replacement for what sounds like a weak fuel pump.This is after I have recorded several videos of it happening and it happening once at the dealership. They simply don’t want to do the labor to fix what needs to do. They act the issue is just magically going to disappear on its own.

I just spoke to Darrah in service. I explained my car broke down a few days ago while in town for a wedding. I got a ride home from a family member and needed to get home. I told her Im flying in town to specifically get my car repaired and drop it there before they open Wednesday morning. She said they were full with appointments until the second week of May. However, since Im coming in with an emergency situation. She said theyd squeeze me in and help me since Im traveling so far. I hope the service is going to be as great as Darrah. I told them my budget I wanted to stay in and they always suggested what I could get for the budget I had set. I ended up going above budget just because I wanted something with alot of features. The sales person Steve always answered any question I had before making my purchase whether through email or text. Kept it real with me and didnt promise to be able to do something they couldnt. I am honestly so happy with my purchase and glad I splurged a little. Would do business with them again in the future!

OK so repairs at the dealership cost more than other repair shops, but this place is worth it. Jeep dealer in Richmond couldnt get me in for 3 weeks! Ashland - the next day. All repairs and routine maintenance done to my satisfaction first time. Happy customer will return.

Steve the sales guy was great in Ashland, but the finance worker was a complete tool. I was buying a 50k truck and was ready to complete the process until he continued to tell me what I needed to buy (gap insurance, warranty, etc.). Furthermore, he was extremely arrogant to the point that I just walked out and I will take my business elsewhere. He is really short, sure that has something to do with it.🤷♂️

A very disappointing sales experience.Was advised by the person I spoke on the phone to ask for 2 specific people. Someone else helped me instead. I had an appointment, I did show up a few minutes early but the car was not ready to look at.I told them I really liked the vehicle. They appraised by trade and provided what I thought was a very low-ball number on the trade; after pushback they came up $3K more on the trade. We still werent close. When I pushed back again, I was told a monthly price I could live with, and I let them know Id get back to them later that day with an answer.After thinking about it, I realized something and clarified; my suspicions were accurate that they provided me a monthly cost on 84 months financing; no one should reasonably be financing a vehicle for that long of a term; 72 months is pretty reasonable on the high end, especially if you know youll flip it in 4-5 years and the interest rate is good.After pushing back on this, we went back and forth via text message. I couldnt get my numbers to match to theirs at all; turns out I wasnt including things like the processing fees, and in particular the VIN Etch fee, which was also highly excessive I felt at $399 and shouldnt be a mandatory fee. This was part of what was pushing the numbers up.While the monthly payments were quite a bit apart, they asked me to fill out a credit application. This was frustrating because when I asked for an estimate, I wasnt provided an updated one. I once again pushed back. I said I needed to be at a certain range. And that is what I am trying to give you is what he responded back with. I pushed again for another estimate; regardless of what would have come back from the credit report, there was no way their numbers were going to be where I wanted them to be to make a sale. Asking me to do a credit app would have created one or more hard pulls on my credit report, despite the fact they knew my monthly range, said they were trying to get there but the closest they came after a lot of back and forth was 11% higher per month than where i wanted to be.Overall I felt like the sales experience wasnt as transparent as it could have been. As a side note, I saw several people on the floor with masks on their chin or not covering their noses, and staff members were not practicing social distancing when possible of keeping 6 feet away. It felt to me that their COVID-19 actions were solely for show and not to help prevent the spread.

The service manager here is amazing to work with! I had an issue with my 2020 RAM Limited. First off, I did not buy it from them, and they did not hesitate to go above and beyond to help me. My truck would not let me turn it off and once I did by discontenting the battery, it would not turn back on. They drove over to my house on their lunch break and re flashed the system to solve the issue. Their customer service was a 10 out of 10!

Took my Durango here to fix one problem and left with another. Of course “it’s not their fault” although it wasn’t a problem until AFTER they serviced it.
Scheduled an appointment for a test drive. When we arrived at the confirmed appointment time we learned that we would have to wait an indefinite period of time because they allowed someone else to take the vehicle during our time slot. Customer service acted very coldly in that stereotypical car-salesmen way and wasn’t apologetic or understanding. Sat in the store for close to an hour waiting. I wish there was a “0” star option for this level of service. I don’t recommend doing business here.

In and out very quickly and the staff were so accommodating to let me use a private office to pump while I waited. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because a car wash service isn’t offered. At previous dealerships my car was always washed and vacuumed anytime service was performed which is top notch customer service if you ask me, but otherwise my experience was great!

Made an appointment for regularly scheduled service. Arrived before the appointment time and was told it would be a 1 1/2 hr. wait. That in itself was ridiculous since it was early morning but yet they said they were “behind schedule”! At the end of the estimated time, my vehicle still had not been started. They checked with the tech and told me they were starting on it then. Finally, after nearly 3 1/2 hrs. It was done. I gave 3 stars because they did not charge me for the service, otherwise, it would have been 1star. Oh, and I purchased the vehicle from this dealership.

Well this is the first google review I have ever made. I always use google reviews to get a general understanding of businesses. It looks like some have had good interactions with Whitten, but I did not. I was on the hunt for a white 10-12 Ram 2500 crew cab short bed and they had one for a reasonable price. Pics looked good online (all were far away) & had a clear CarFax. I called them up & asked about the condition, & specifically asked if there were any dents or flaws on the exterior that I should be aware of. Carlos, the sales rep for this truck, assured me that it was in great shape & could not see any dents or imperfections.. (Boy was he wrong). So I drive from North Carolina (left family vacation early) to their dealership in Virginia to see it. After test driving & looking over it for an hour or so, I decided I wanted to deal. I made the sales rep aware of all the problems I saw: Dents along both sides of the bed, there were scratches on the bedsides, the paint was rubbed off to bare metal on the kick panels, the doors did not line up with the body, the edges of the doors were touched up, abnormal amount of paint chipping along the bottom, stains in the seats, the interior was dirty, etc. Turns out the previous owner did masonry and used the bed extensively for work... I completely understood that it was a little rough, but was wanting to get the price down to make it fair. They would not move from the KBB good or better price, even though I would hardly list this truck as fair for only having 82k miles and being a 2012. So I compared KBB online with the options it had to their fair KBB printout. Listen closely because this is what they do.. The KBB printout that they show you does not compare to what you may find online.. It was off by about $2k. Their fair condition printout was the same as a good or better from dealer KBB price. Anyways, I got them down $500 and since I was in a pinch for needing a truck, I decided to go with it. Biggest mistake that Ive made in many many years. Carlos (who I learned was fired a few days after making a deal with me) then mentioned that a $400 add on would be necessary. This was for the theft protection system that they put on all cars apparently.. They are stickers on all body parts of the vehicle.. Turns out these stickers have been there since the last owner (the masonry mud was all over the sticker on the tailgate. thats how I could tell). ANYWAYS, after another hour, I was finally convinced to get a MOPAR max care warranty.... I should actually say forced into that decision. Charlie Brown, (who on several later occasions when working out paperwork was very disrespectful), will not let up on you, no matter what you say, until you finally give in (I should have walked out from the dealership an hour ago). I finally get all the paperwork done. I must also mention that I told Carlos that I would not be able to pick it up until a week later, and that in order for me to sign the papers, I wanted the truck to be fully detailed inside and out. He agreed and also assured that the trucks fuel tank would be topped off. I walk out feeling very unsure about my decisions... A week later I told them Id be picking it up after hours, so I drive another 3 hours after working a 12 hour shift to get the truck. I hop in, and low and behold the trucks tank is on E and the interior is still dirty. I look at the exterior and it has obviously not been cleaned.. Ok not a big deal I guess, until I get home & open the center console & find a receipt from a BODY SHOP that shows exterior dent removal & paint work that was performed UNDER THE TABLE. My main concern was that one of the bedsides had a $400 repair.I observe the truck and from various angles the paint looks hideous. Long story short, this dealership will lie to you & say anything to get you to sign the papers and wont make things right even when proven wrong. Take a look at the bedside in the pics-it does not match the rest of the trucks color. I will never be coming back here again. I should have listened to my gut.
