Hey I went to the indoor range yesterday. And they had a nice lady called Bri she helped me out with everything And I really had a good time there
You sweep. You keep. Cheap to shoot. Targets available. Rent or byog. Safety glasses and hearing protection required to enter range area. Purchase new firearms here and some accessories. Ammo is available to use at range for purchase. Staff is helpful if you have questions.
Doesn’t allow AR pistols and couldn’t give me a reason of why not. The owner of this business is so arrogant and clearly doesn’t care how his business is ran or don’t care about pleasing customers! He doesn’t even get on here and says he sorry to the people that had bad experiences. That should tell you everything you need to know about this cesspool of a business.
Worst experience I’ve ever had at a gun range. I
Had a good time here. The staff was friendly, great range price, and it’s an all day pass!It may not be the largest indoor range I’ve been to but I’m not complaining at all. There is even a lane with plate targets set up. This was cool to see in an indoor range.Another review I saw said “it was too loud for a range.” It’s a shooting range! Of course it’s going to get loud. It did seem a little louder than other indoor ranges, but nothing some foam earplugs can’t help with.Law enforcement and Veteran friendly.I will definitely be back again soon.
Great Service and friendly staff..
Decided to try out this indoor range. I do not recommend this range to anyone. No safety precautions were being taken! It was like anyone could go in and just go shoot with out supervision of any sort. Felt extremely crammed. They put my fiancé and I at the same lane knowing we were both carrying a gun in our cases.. Bad vibes all around!
Jeremy was very rude and lacked the professional customer service I had gotten at precision for the pass 10 years. Walker on the other hand was very polite, and helpful. I have recommended this range to all my lady friends, but now I would never recommend them. I dont have plans to go back, and have encouraged all my law enforcement and military buddies not to go either. I have heard how rude Jeremy was but this was my 1st time coming back to the range after my accident and I was treated with a bountiful amount of disrespect. One of my friends left early because of Jeremy being so rude, the other suggested we leave after just one round of 8 bullets.Jeremy accused us of having a loaded firearm not pointed down. When he realized it wasnt loaded and I was putting it up he never offered an apology. He just said oh I didnt know. He tried to kick us out because of this, but we had already decided to leave due to him being so rude.I dont recommend Precision anymore.
Store policy doesnt allow AR Pistols to be shot there but will allow a rifle with a stock that shoots the same caliber to be shot there, makes no sense when a rifle round is a rifle round regardless of platform.
Very rude staff !! ..Go to FRC .. dont be their next victim
Ive been going to precision for a while now. Ive never had a bad experience there. Staff is friendly and very helpful!
I have been enjoying this place since I moved to Baton Rouge over 10yrs ago. The staff is always extremely friendly and ALWAYS remember me in which I give them a special thanks for! I miss when they used to let women shoot for free Monday - Thursday however that wont stop me from going there and having some much needed fun!
My wife left her phone and they secured it until she returned to the store.Customer service like this is rare.Thank you so much precision firearms.
Rude staff. Over priced everything. They double charged me for some items. I made it to the parking lot before I noticed. Went strait back in without even getting in my vehicle only for them to say no refunds. Spend your money elsewhere.
Just got done shooting at this range and I thoroughly enjoyed myself! While the staff was reserved, they were not disrespectful to me, and for $18 for a day pass I could not be more pleased. Had a fantastic time putting ammo down range for Memorial Day, and plan to purchase a membership.
Very affordable discounts fro veterans, well maintained range. The guy who says it is dirty bust have never walked in the door.Been shooting 30 years one of the best indoor ranges I have shot at. Staff very helpful. Gun repairs are excellent and modetly priced. I highly recommend it
I enjoy shooting here. The customer service here is excellent and the staff are very knowledgeable! Will definitely be going back soon.
You kind of get what you pay for, unless youre with friends in which case you get less. Ive been to other ranges where you pay per lane and not per person.Ive only had one bad experience here though. The couple next to me was firing what must have been some relic of a handgun with the cheapest ammo money could buy. They fired a round that must have hit the bracket that you clip your target to. The bullet must have broke apart and part of it ricocheted and hit my friend in the eyebrow. Imagine what wouldve happened if he had no eye protection and it hit a bit lower. They had no first-aid kit on the premises and didnt even offer him a refund. This was simultaneously his firs and last experience with guns for the rest of his life. The people in the next lane didnt even offer an apology and kept firing.Overall, my three star rating signifies that this place is average, not great. To ensure your own safety, watch the people around you and try to select a lane how youd select a urinal (i.e. leave space in between you and other shooters). My recommendations for the people who run the range are as follows: charge per lane not per person, monitor the people as they use the range, inspect the ammunition and guns people are firing before letting them in, get equipment and training for first-aid.
Its a great place for the public to come to fire theyre weapons.
Have been several times to this range and each time the service got worse. Last time would not let us shoot an AR pistol in their rifle range. Reason “Just Because!” So left and went to FRC for the first time and had a great experience!
Favorite place close by to go shoot. Its great if you want a place to practice your handgun shooting, but they dont let you draw from a holster (most places dont). Rifle range is okay, but fewer lanes, only goes to about 25 yards and it costs an extra fee to use the rifle range. Has a pretty good selection of rental handguns, but the selection is more geared to what most people are looking to buy, not much in terms of different stuff or hand cannons, but they do have some full auto firearms to rent. Also, if you go during busy times expect to wait on a lane to open up.
The best place to shoot in Baton Rouge! What I like most about this place is the staff KNOWS what they are doing. All military / law enforcement guys, they are both knowledgeable and willing to help you learn how to shoot safely and correctly. Im a relative newbie, so this is a big plus for me. Also, they have a lot of handguns you can rent and try out, and make sure you like it, before you lay down a big chunk of cash on a new gun. Check these guys out, youll be glad you did.
This is an indoor range, but its not very well lit, nor does it have good ventilation. The people there are very safety conscious, and they have a decent selection of guns to rent and buy. I like going here for a quick trip to the range, but not for a full day of shooting.
Customer service was great!!!! Since it was my first time I was shown the proper gun safety tips and much more. It certainly isn’t the last time I am going to visit Precision Firearms.
One of the better ranges I have ever been to. The staff were knowledgeable. Prices decent. I have never had a problem being treated like anything other than a fellow shooter. I definitely enjoy going here, and will continue to do so!
I frequentlly visit Precision Firearms and I am a repeat customer because this business is top of the line when it comes to staff, service, and knowledge. One guy spent 30 minutes with me one day going over different types of handguns, explaining thoroughly each one, and recommending options that would best fit my needs.Lately, with ammo being scarce at many outdoor sports stores at the moment, the staff at Precision has brought in their own personal supply of ammo for customer use. You simply wont get that kind of service anywhere else around here.Everyone that works here is extremely knowledgeable and ready to help their customers.10 gold stars and 2 thumbs up for the incredible staff at Precision Firearms! Thanks a bunch!
Douchebags. Stay away from this place. Ignorant lazy CHILDREN running the place.
Dont take a firearm class there. For some reason they always find a way to have African Americans come back there to practice their shooting as the minorities dont have to come back. The minorities are given their firearm license on the spot whether they do poorly or not.
Ive always had a good time utilizing their indoor range. Never had any problems renting or purchasing firearms or ammo, and was always treated courteously. They recently offered free training classes to women who had protective orders after a local woman was killed by her ex (she had a restraining order against him). They are good people here. To the other reviewer who claims they were treated badly because they were black, my buddy (a black man, tattooed and muscled) never once complained about being treated wrong there in the many times hes been there.
The staff was EXTREMELY FRIENDLY and HELPFUL. Wednesdays ladies are free. It was my first time. I will definitely be back.
$15 for a all day shooting pass. Not bad. 4 stars due to the overpriced ammo on gun rentals.Other than that... Awesome staff and a great shooting range.Highly recommended!
I have been visiting this excellent local indoor range weekly for the last few months. Can shoot paper targets or the steel plates. All of the staff have been friendly and very helpful. Overall good experience and because I enjoy shooting here, I signed up for the membership.
As a first time gun buyer I had no clue as to what to buy, much less how to handle a firearm. I found the staff knowledgeable, and up front about what I should handle as a first time gun owner. Since my purchase I go to the range frequently and find the staff to be friendly, courteous and very helpful. I recommend Precision Firearm to anyone interested in purchasing a weapon and as a place to shoot.
The way they treat their customers leaves quite a lot to be desired. At least that was my experience with the tall, creepy looking fellow. Maybe their other employees are more pleasant to deal with, but I wont be going back there to find out. Ill spend my dollars with someone who appreciates my patronage, and understands that friendly service, believe it or not, still matters to some of us.
Nice Shooting Range....You can also rent firearms.....If you are new to shooting, they will also give you training for free.....Price is decent....Friendly Staff.....High Quality equipment....Only Inconvenience I faced is that the silhouette when the is hanged using clips, Its not fixed and waves a little due to the wind coming from the Air Conditioners.....Other than that Everything is really good....Will recommend to my friends and will visit again....Had a great time
Most of the time the place fine. Other times its crowded. Not their fault. When its crowded, its up to the patrons to sweep up the brass from underfoot. I just rent time and buy targets which are priced fairly. Folks are polite and helpful.Only issue, and theyre upfront about it, is time on the rifle ranges can be limited to 30 minutes if others are waiting.
Visited February 2016. Very much frustrated with Precision.Old selection of guns to rent, everything feels old and worn, and very expensive ammo, and gun prices. The worst however, was the customer service. Always enjoyable to see THREE employees gather around each other smiling ear to ear about how much me and my buds bill was from just an evening of target practice. A little courtesy goes a long way. Feels like I was robbed. Extremely frustrating.Precision....Not a place I wish to revisit.-LouisianaCollegeStudent
Nice pistol and rifle range. Friendly staff. They give range discounts for veterans and also do a bang up job on a turn key concealed weapons class.
Fun place, nice people, especially Susie, she will answer all your questions if she doesn’t know it she will find out. You should try it.
Im puzzled by the negative reviews. I only recently started going, but both times the service was excellent. The staff (and other patrons!) were very friendly and helpful. Facilities are good for a small indoor range with three bays. The safety protocol isnt what Im used to; patrons are allowed to carry their gun around without a holster, as long as the slide is locked back. Only real complaint is the cost of 9mm ammo: $18.95 for a box of 50. $10 gun rentals, and best of all, ladies shoot free M-Th!
This is a great indoor firing range. I have been shooting actively for years and this is the best indoor range in the Baton Rouge area. Of course they wont let you draw from holster, or really anything besides point and shoot at a stationary target, but that is the same as all other indoor ranges. I will say my girlfriend took her CCW class here and she had nothing but good things to say about it. The staff is nice and knowledgeable. They have several firearms for rent if you want to shoot something you might not normally get a chance to. $15 to shoot with no time limit. If you are looking for an indoor place to shoot, you wont find a better place in town.
I read a lot of negative publicity about this place prior to actually walking in the door. I walked in as a first-time shooter and the staff treated me as I would treat any customer who was a novice in my line of work. They went above and beyond in service and were courteous and mindful of all my questions. I wish I could remember their names but a gentleman and lady pair were working the counter. I went in today to learn a little bit, practice with some rentals, and get familiar. After all my familiarization is complete, regardless of any competitor pricing or what anyone says about them, im about to make my first firearm purchase and It will be through Precision because of the great first impression that was made.
Overall, a terrible experience. So I was thinking of purchasing a gun, but I hadnt shot in a few years, and my gf had never shot before. So, I requested from them a short safety demo, more to get her familiarized with gun safety. They scoffed at the idea and claimed they were too busy but, would explain the basic mechanics of the guns we were renting. I thought to myself, too busy for someone who had never shot before? Craziness! Might as well let her shoot everyone in the head while youre at it.I just thought this was very negligent of them, especially since they only had 5 people shooting and one elderly customer purchasing a gun(one customer). But that is besides the point, you dont give someone a gun without giving them at least a demo and a basic safety instruction.(which I did at home earlier that day luckily)Also, they didnt bother to go over pricing, range fees or rental fees. The website is also misleading about these things. They are way overpriced for ammo as well.Apart form all of that, the cans they provided were falling apart and did not fit correctly.Overall a bad experience. Cramped, dirty, shells all over the floor, insanely expensive prices, and one really rude employee, who was the main instigator of all of this. He just treated us as if we were peasants or something, no need to be such a dick. They could have had repeat business, if their business did not suck so hard. Not going back!
Visited here a few months ago, First, I am pretty sure it was because my brother-in-law and I are African-American and it was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! As soon as we walked in, we were gawked at by both the staff and most of the shooters. Everyone in the gun range at the time was Caucasian and we felt very uncomfortable being stared at by so many people. From that point on we could tell that we were not welcome by the way they treated, so we decided to leave! BAKER GUN RANGE (Baker, LA) IS AWESOME AND THEY TREAT YOU WITH RESPECT REGARDLESS OF COLOR!!!
Just me giving my honest opinion... Ive going her about once a week since May. Sometimes the staff is very helpful and sometimes they r not at all ... I had a bad experience when I was shooting my shot gun .. The guy screamed and said make sure u r shooting from the shoulder (no hip shooting). Ive never once shot my shot gun from the hip so I didnt know wat he was talking about... it always have brass everywhere every time I go shoot ... some might say its not their job to clean up but its always 3 r 4 guys standing behind the counter doing nothing just talking and have fun .. the range price if fair I think ..i dont really have anything to compare it to though ...but everything else is really over priced ...i just go their because it nowhere else to go...
Couldnt even use their range because my AR pistol was prohibited because people were shooting the range up. This wasnt the first time I brought a gun on the banned list. They are too scared. I took it to Baker Range where I was welcomed. Never will I step foot in Precision again.
I went to shoot and everyone there was very friendly and informative. My wife was a little nervous and they calmed her down by just being nice to her, she had a great time. I found a new range!
Ventilation is not sufficient, lead poison. Loud.
Not sure what all the negative reviews are about. But, went there for the first time with my 10 year old son and had a pleasant experience. The people were very helpful and took extra time with my son talking about shooting and safety. Only reason I gave it a four rating is that the rifle range is so close and so loud that it is a little distracting.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great range prices!
Do you enjoy shooting in a comfortable, friendly environment? If you said yes then DO NOT GO HERE. This place is small, cluttered, and dirty. The staff are unprofessional and not even a little friendly. Im doubting if any of them actually even own a gun or enjoy shooting. My fiancé and I stood in line for 20 minutes waiting to be helped and when we finally got to the counter the kid told us they were full and we couldnt shoot. I know being full happens and thats ok but it would have been nice if the boy had let us know before we stood there for so long. I simple FYI would have been nice. And if those things dont concern you at all, this one should - they DO NOT pay attention to who walks in the door. I dont need a welcoming party but standing in a gun range with their backs to the door, chatting in the corner, not even turning around until they finish their gossip, is inexcusable. Its bad business and unsafe for EVERYBODY. Real gun enthusiasts wouldnt do that, its that simple.
The guys behind the counter are always helpful and accommodating. As an instructor, its important to have partners in the community positively promoting the shooting sports.
I was treated very well, gentleman answered all my questions, and I bought my target, and shot it up and bought more bullets. It is not a four star restaurant, it is a place to go practice to shoot straight and hit the target. They also have a class you can take to get the concealed carry license...see yall there!
Decent price, friendly staff. Wish there were a few more firing lanes. It gets packed on ladies night!
Rude and lazy staff, outdated and rundown equipment, poor lighting and they allow three people or more on a shooting lane overall an unsafe environment for the dedicated shooter, used to be a regular even with these issues until the range on choctaw opened. if you like a professional well lighted range this is the place., additionally the staff is great and accomodating, i would not give any stars but my comments would not post without at least one star
Great prices and nice staff.
I pay a lot of attention to reviews, but after talking to one of the guys on the phone I went to shoot there with my father on 2/8/14. Ill start by saying the facility is nice, and right when you get ready to walk into the door they have a sign that says your guns either need to have the slide locked back or bolts pulled back and such. On the door you push open it says to read the sign before entering which I noticed several people apparently either couldnt read or didnt care. So the guy says sir you need to step back outside and lock your slide back and the customer look dumbfounded. I mean how hard is it to understand that? So yea I can understand with all of the illiterate morons who dont read and walk in with the gun ready to shoot if not in a case how they can get offended by the blunt command before a: Hello, how can we help you..Now next, the guys all seem friendly enough and me having never sighted in a rifle I asked if anybody could assist me somehow and explain the adjusting process to me. One of the guys explained the MOA and so on. So I was able to sight my scope spot on. Next thing I noticed was that with it being a brand new scope, it wobbled. So I asked another guy who was available and he said they have two allen wrench fittings normally on the bottom and so he loaned me a tool to tighten it up.The one thing that isnt great about Precision is the rifle range only has two lanes so it can get cramped pretty quick. I wish it were 4-5 lanes because then youd have more room to move around and what not. Now my father did take his eye protection off while we were in the rifle room though we were the only two one of the guys came and said that the eye protection had to stay on at all times. Now for the pistol room, they had quite a few lanes and were very busy. They took our number down to queue for a spot as it opened, which didnt take long.To summarize my experience I give it 5 stars. The staff are knowledgeable and very friendly, though Im sure if youre ignorant enough to not read a sign and walk in with a loaded pistol you will be told to step out side and lock the slide before entering. We werent sure if they had to be locked back while in the case so I stepped inside while I left the guns by the door and asked if the bolts and what not open applied to them being in cases which he said did not. So once we walked in he said thank you for asking though. We stayed roughly 2 1/2 hours and I mainly went to sight in my rifle but I will visit them again. Its nice having an indoor range to shoot at, though my only gripe is that its 45 minutes away. So if youre looking for a place to shoot, then dont hesitate to visit this place.
I had ordered a gun from an out of state gun shop. Had it delivered to Precision Firearms. They called me promply when it arrived. I would have thought PF not being the seller, I would have been treated like a second class customer. From the the time I walked in the door until I walked out, I was treated as a special person. The sales person explained the features of the gun just as if I had bought it there. I ended up buying several other items. It was a pleasent experience. I will surely go back again for my gun needs. Thanks for letting me share.
I believe this is is a great place to have fun shooting pistols, revolvers, rifles, shotguns, and machine gun rentals. In a safe environment of course. Due to being busy sometimes its hard to get a lane on Saturday due to CCW course and on Wed because its ladies night but Mondays are open because people barely come in. So stop on by from Monday to Saturday from 10am- 9pm we take last shooters at 8:30and on Sunday from 10am to 7pm. Ayee and good shooting Sha
Do not go here. The experience I had with the owner ruining my time there. He was overly rude and tried to kick me out. I had done nothing and said he didnt need my attitude. I had been warned about him before but I didnt think it would be that bad. If you can go literally anywhere else than do that. I cannot say enough bad things about this place
Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. The Con I have is lighting &, the Lanes are not cleaned routinely.
Nice indoor range, friendly and helpful staff (in my experience), good pricing on firearms.
A good value for a good time. Friendly, helpful, professional and informative staff.
Like shooting here. Needs to be a little cooler in the range section. Employees are nice and helpful.
The staff were very friendly and the shooting area was well lighted.
The rifle range area was only 25 yards I can live with that for 15$ but I couldnt get the door open enough to get my gun case through the door due to the amount of trash in the way the room is 8×8 with a trash can in the middle witch was over flowing with old targets and everyone know there will be hundreds of shell casings on the floor right well this place had the empty boxes of ammo on the floor aswell would reather go to nicks shooting range eny day its worth the drive out past Gonzales for a clean spacious day without the need to spend 15 minutes cleaning before you can shoot
Tried to purchase a common firearm, cz variant. They ordered it from a distributor, said it would be in a week from the purchase date. Well over a three and a half months later and Im still waiting, the staff is giving me the runaround and even the distributor is not communicating. Ive been patient, but service is lackluster. The establishment leaves some to be desired.
Excellent service, knowledgeable staff. No frills rentals.
Great place to fire some rounds and check your aim!
Pretty cool shooting range. The workers are very knowledgeable.
Good service but much too loud, even with ear protection. No reason why every surface in the shooting area should not be totally covered with sound absorbing material.
These guys are awesome! Very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly! Ill be back! Thank you!
I would give no stars but had to select at least 1. Thes people are the worst to deal with. I have been waiting over a year for my suppressor paperwork & still havent recieved as they did the paperwork wrong once they finally actually did it. I have other suppressors already in my trust & have never waited over 5 months max. They also are very unproffesional with no response to emails. There manager Elizabeth lied to me & when I called them on it they quit responding to my emails. Please use anyone but them. I have emails & all to prove this Im not just posting this to bad mouth them. I have better things to do with my time. I really just dont want anyone else to go through this. Do your research there are much better places to deal with in the area. Never again..
Man I enjoyed my time here omw back no
One of the worst ranges Ive ever had the misfortune of going to. The staff will literally treat you like you know nothing about shooting.
I thought it was just me but after reading several of the reviews I see that poor customer service is the standard at this range. I have been insulted and ignored numerous times while using this range. The employees seem more intersted in having their own conversations than helping a customer. After spending over 100 dollars between range fees and some miscelaneous items I had to ask them to check me out bcause they were too busy chatting amongst themselves to help me. I have seen new customers treated so poorly that I would never expect them to set foot in that range again. The lanes are ok but they are by no means clean nor updated. They know they are the only game in town its time for some competition to give shooters another choice. If you have no where else to shoot than this place is ok but I will never spend another penny there until they learn how to be respectful to the people paying their salries..They need to hire some people with firearms knowlege and customer service skills, not a bunch of cadet rejects with ego issues.
The staff are rude and not happy to help. Dont waste your money here.
I have no idea what people are whining about. STAFF is friendly. Its a indoor shooti g range of course its loud. What else do you plan on doing at a firing range ? Other than shoot.
Moved to the area from another state and avid shooter. I have been in the shop a total of three times and hoped maybe that Ive caught them on an off day. However, every time Ive been in there I was treated like Ive insulted them by walking through their doors or I was interrupting what what they were doing. Ive been in retail for over 20 years and they do an injustice to their business and the shooting industry.
This place had a very small indoor range, theyre overpriced, and the guys in the front are a bunch of young little kids who dont even know gun laws!
Horrible customer service. Will never come here again.
Lanes have been updated, great range
They were very professional and helpful
Staff was condescending and rude. Floor inside the range area full of brass, no one keeping it clean. If I take my sons to shoot and pay for 3 people, I expect 3 lanes, not cramming 3 people into one lane. I see they are interviewing for a new manager, I hope whoever gets the job cleans house and starts with a clean slate.
Awesome as always friendly staff 😎
Apparently they allow full auto rifles on the pistol line. Bullet splash and ricochets are not something I prefer to deal with when paying to shoot at a range. Will not return.
Amazing shooting range one of the best in Baton Rouge
Small shooting area with little to no place to set up or even set a gun case on.
Was skeptical at first because of the reviews. They were the only range I the city that carried the handgun my lady was thinking about buying. The range was clear we went during the day . The staff was on point the range was clear of debris. Will visit again.
Place is small and beyond dirty. Workers eating while speaking to customers. Its disgusting for me to talk to you while you have a mouth full of food!!!!!😤
Shoot your gun here.
No written policies, the list they have printed is not complete, they have many more restrictions not posted that are enforced at the will of the employees, the management does not see this as a problem and there are no refunds.
Very good place
Great People, Great Service, Fun Range
Great experience.
Awesome and affordable
