Talk about custom, customer service and gorgeous products! Colorado wood and metal went above and beyond to help me design and build custom stair treads for an unusual, alternating-tread staircase. They were completely willing to work with me on an unusual process (they milled and epoxy filled the pieces, I took them and cut them, I brought them back and they finished them, I took them back and installed them), and Tyler was beyond patient and enthusiastic throughout the whole project. He helped me think through everything in advance and then went through probably 10 different finishes until we found the right thing. I priced out the cost of new hardwood an it was only 33% cheaper (and it came unfinished in standard sizes, which would have meant a lot of waste and retrofitting, and I definitely wouldnt be able to get the vertical grain I wanted). COW&M worked with all my requests and helped make these stairs the central feature of our little home. Thank you!

We stopped in at their shop on a whim and it was the best experience of our whole remodel! Talked to Scott at length about we want for floating shelves and he showed us some slabs and we left him a deposit. I sent him the measurements and bam! Few weeks later they called for us to pick up. I was so shocked at the beautiful end product! Even more shocked that they fit Lik a glove!! So prefect! Exact color I wanted, the exact fit in the corner and never did anyone have to come to our house to measure!! I highly recommend these craftsmen and women !

I ended up at this shop after calling lots of shops about an epoxy table. They really cared about the project and were extremely knowledgeable with the ends and outs. They are friendly and down to earth people and will answer any questions you have no matter how small. They also have some beautiful wood to choose from. I would 100% recommend them and worth the trip from Fort Collins.

We recently got a huge 15 foot mantel from Colorado Wood & Metal and absolutely love it! From the moment we arrived, Cruise and his team walked us around and explained the process of picking out our own barn beam, different finish options, etc. They had it ready in about a week and even delivered it (and helped carry it inside the house). We cannot recommend this company and their products enough!

I love this shop! They have a fabulous selection of live edge slabs, beams, and everything else you can dream of for your project. Cruise, Katie, and Scott are so helpful, easy to talk to, and are always willing to share their expertise. Ive purchased several slabs from them and used their craftsmanship to help build a desk and cant say enough good things.

What a cool place! Scott (whom I found out later is the owner) greeted us as we stepped out of the car. Spent the time with my wife pouring over timbers to find the right mantle piece and rusting shelving material. Explained the process, made great suggestions and offered lots of services I had no idea they could provide. They have it going on; from the choices of materials, to the awesome shop to the friendly and knowledgeable service. Just stop by, they are great.

These guys are great. Super helpful. Tons of great stuff in stock. They can mill as required. I only needed a few nice 8 barn wood boards to finish a project, they helped me find the perfect boards, and planed them down for me on the spot. Not cheap, but not as expensive as others in Denver. Highly recommend!

These folks were super helpful! Im a beginner to wood projects, and they were very helpful with information about the different choices of wood and how to finish them. Since I got the live edge slab to build a table, they squared up the edges for free.

It was amazing to see the wood and work that is done here. With an unbelievable selection of wood and materials in early stage, the sky is the limit for any project that you can imagine. Fantastic on all accounts. I simply needed a large oak board squared and leveled. Cruz and Shawn both helped me very quickly and went above and beyond going their work. They listened to my project plans and also provided additional advice on how to move forward.Simple project but great service.

Scott took my call and was immediately helpful and basically gave me the friends and family discount even though we had never met. Seriously, other shops wanted $80 or $90 for the service I needed and Colorado Wood and Metal only wanted about $20. And, Scotts friendly attitude was refreshing. We went to Colorado Wood and Metal for a live edge mantel and I’m so glad we did. We arrived and someone immediately helped us pick out our own piece of hardwood and he explained the process. A few weeks later we had a beautiful handmade mantle! They even helped us prepare it for the floating bracket we got. The mantel is gorgeous and exactly what we were looking for. Would highly recommend Colorado Wood and Metal!!

High quality hand-hewn beams, reclaimed barn material, and rare imports / salvages you wont find elsewhere in Colorado. Scott, the owner, was really helpful. He mentioned they also make their own custom furniture out of cut-offs, and I imagine its some handsome stuff. Definitely recommend!

Im a student who was looking for wood for a woodworking project. Colorado wood and metal was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable working with me to make sure I got exactly what I needed. When I went to the facility is was really impressed with the wide selection of quality woods available at fair prices. Of all of the places I have worked in the Boulder/Denver area I was most satisfied with my experience here and will 100% be coming back here for all future projects.

Fantastic. High quality woodwork. I designed a bar and they made it to script perfectly. Experts in all wood. Tom crushed the details of a tough design with a mitre and it was reasonably priced. Scott will provide tons of information on options. Be aware the timeline starts with your deposit, so break out your checkbook and get your woodwork reserved because you house is about to have a jaw dropping piece that everyone will talk about!

A couple of months ago I went to CO Wood & Metal for help with a small diy project. They were super helpful, very knowledgeable and their wood skills were evident both in the care they took with my few pieces and with the other projects they showed me in their shop. Gorgeous wood in the shadow of the foothills --highly recommended!

Stopped by the shop with a warped live edge slab I wanted to use for a desk. Sean and Katie talked over all of my options and ended up flattening the piece on the CNC machine. They also gave me some pointers on how to finish the slab at home. Will definitely be back for any other wood working projects.

This is a great place and an awesome group of woodworkers. We went first to check out their inventory and they have a lot of great wood. We went back for some planing and sanding on a piece we got from Arizona and they did an excellent job very quickly. This place rocks! So much variety. We received assistance from both Tyler and Tom. Both were outstandingly helpful and knowledgeable. Things ended up being a little more expensive that we thought, but their stuff is so cool, and their workmanship is excellent.

Had a project that required a beautiful piece of large, rough cut cedar with some tricky cuts. They welcomed the small-ish job and even asked if I wanted to wait for them to complete the cuts!!!! Are you kidding me-- in 2019?? Service, a smile, a good crew of people.... It was like I vectored back 30 years ago. If you need something unique for your project, these are the guys.

If I could put 7 stars on a 5-star scale, I would for this business. I spent about 45 minutes of an employees time getting advice and assistance on jointing, planing and sanding a piece of walnut, and learning about this business. I had a great experience at Colorado Wood and Metal. They were glad to help me and stopped what they were doing to get my job done right off the bat. I wanted them to plane a piece of wood and they did a very good job using precise machinery. The charge was minimal and well worth it.

I called Colo Wood and Metal because I live nearby and knew of them being next to the sawmill on Hwy. 93. I needed some slabs planed that twisted by more than an 1. They did a great job the same day. Super accommodating and knowledgeable. Ill be back as they have some really nice slabs at their facility.

Just an awesome place and great group of woodworkers. Like an oldtime saw mill in many ways with all kinds of awesome lumber. We went for some planing and sanding. The best prices we have yet to find. We will be back no doubt. We frequent the different Denver lumber yards often, these guys are more reasonable by far. They will even mill your trees. Took some of the kids, it was like a field trip! You wont be disappointed.

This is a five star place. Their customer service is second to none. A bunch of master craftsmen who know their stuff, love people and love producing the best possible pieces. These guys dont cut corners and act like they are making the piece for their own home. I use to run a mill back in Wisconsin and know a ton about this stuff, but these guys shocked me with their in depth knowledge of the numerous variables which impact wood, finishing techniques, how humidity effects wood at all stages etc. They can literally build anything and can cut wood up to 50+ inches wide. If you are looking for a custom piece, floating shelves, a solid wood table of any length or anything made from hard wood, these are the best around.

We’ve worked with these guys on a few projects. Everyone we’ve met has been extremely helpful, polite and really knowledgeable. We stopped by today to have some slabs flattened and planed and we were helped by Sean and Tyler as soon as we rolled up. They have a great selection of hardwood slabs! What a relief, a pleasure even, to find a retail establishment staffed by knowledgeable, helpful people. My experience at Colorado Wood And Metal was diametrically opposite of what one has to deal with at big box retailers. I recently attempted to place an order at a big box lumber yard and the young woman at the pro desk was confused. She thought a microlam is a small sheep.

I went to see Scott a few months ago, regarding an old butcher block my friend had made when he was a woodworker at a local shop. It had great sentimental value since my friend soon after passed away, 20 years ago, after presenting us with this full size butcher block table. It weighed 200lbs (at least) and fell into disrepair over the years. My wife loved it, and we kept it all these years, mainly to to honor my friends work. When we decided to finally get rid of it, I had the idea to bring it to Scott to see if he could make a few counter top butcher block cutting boards. Well, they did an absolutely wonderful job! I now have three beautiful cutting boards which Ill enjoy for years to come. Colorado Wood and Steel took the time to glue a few parts back together and then sand it to an excellent surface, oiled and perfectly useable. My wife is thrilled with the results and the memory of our friend is now seated on our countertop....a much more useable and practical location! Cool company, cool location, and really cool workshop. I was looking for someone to slab-cut a large-ish stump for a DIY live edge bench project. The first guy that helped me was really nice, informative, and logged me into their milling schedule. There was a little mix-up & the cuts took longer than expected, but the wait was worth it as no one else in the Front Range (that I know of) mills really large pieces of wood. It’s not like I could have walked into Home Depot, or used a chainsaw... The guys at CO Wood & Metal were all helpful, and super knowledgeable about their product- wood. I’ll definitely recommend them to anyone looking for large custom wood creations.
