Most bike rental places in town are cleaned out this season, but Chalet Sports still had bikes and the quoted price seemed very reasonable. I expected to get an old junk bike, but instead they gave me a new, super nice hybrid that was *perfect* for getting around on both streets and serious trails (see photo). Process was fast and easy. I could not have been happier. Thanks!
Great selection of products, knowledgeable staff. Best in Bozeman.
Brought my bike in for a routine tune up. They Messed up my derailleur and did the bare minimum checking if the bike ran properly. 2 stars on stead of 1 for being able to put a new front tire on correctly though.
Tried on some ski boots today and Kara was incredibly helpful. She was very knowledgeable and very friendly. I would definitely recommend her and Chalet Sports for help in finding the correct ski boot
Great service and knowledgeable staff when it comes to outdoor gear. A bit pricey, but the deals are there if you go at the right time of year and talk to the right people. Very pleased with our multiple experiences there.
Wonderful customer service! Im new to skiing and snowboarding. I went in today to try on some boots and ask general questions. Carl helped me out. He was not pushy at all and I didnt feel like they were just trying to sell me stuff. Ill definitely be buying all of my equipment from Chalet Sports in the future.
Are all bike shops stuck up and rude? I’m not sure but this one is. I’ve had good experiences with the shoe and apparel departments here.
Their sister store, Round House, right up the road does not enforce masks yet Im hassled by two employees at Chelet. Walked out the door and down the street to Ownhouse Cycling and dropped $5K on a bike.
Great products, good variety, but Ive never gotten help from the employees. Maybe Im Patrick Swayze from Ghost but the folks in uniform dont seem to see me standing in line or hear me request assistance. I keep going back because they always have exactly what I need, and the service in front keeps my ego in check.
Got my Felt bike from Chalet as a present about seven years ago. Moved to Alaska and the bike has been in storage. Since being back in MT I dusted it off and tried to fill the tires only to find the valve is super skinny. I took the bike in to Chalet and they filled both tires, explained the technology behind the valves, and sent me on my way. Excellent service and knowledgeable staff.
Thank you guys! 5/5 rentalEverything else is excellent quality also
Cecil was super helpful fitting me into boots Im excited about for the coming season. Really seemed to know his stuff and have a genuine desire to get me the best fit possible.
Needed new ski boots. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful getting just the right boot with the right fit.
Wonderful, friendly staff. Figured out my vintage bike repair without a problem — even special ordered a part to make it easier to maintain. In and out on a rideable bike for a for less than $50 and in almost no time, when another shop estimated repairs would be almost $200. Wish they held workshops, will absolutely return for service, parts, and gear.
Had a couple of irritating bike issues on my bike that I tried to get fixed at other local bike shops with no luck. Kara at Chalet DIALED in my Ripmo in like new right before a bike trip. Hands down will continue to come back. Thanks Kara!!!!
Very helpful staff
When returning to Chalet Sports after realizing they had incorrectly mounted my skis I was greeted by ski technician who went out of his way to help me ultimately right their wrong. I would give this employee 5 stars and a raise! Despite his outstanding service I will not be returning to what I thought to be professional establishment after I received a remarkably rude comment from what seemed to be a older woman who runs the cashiers desk. I dont expect much when it comes to hospitality, but this women certainly did not posses any of the lovely montana hospitality we have all come to love. This women should treat her guests with respect and not look down on them and say oh i seriously doubt that when a hard working and honest individual comes in to receive a service in which they are paying absurd amounts of money for.
The best ski shop in Bozeman they have a great variety of skis. And a great bike shop. And the staff is great as well
So stoked about my new bike from Chalet! Mike was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in finding me the right ride :) It was actually a really fun experience as buying a bike should be!! Looking forward to getting this baby muddy and getting some miles on her. Thanks Chalet well played.
Went to quite a few bike stores and happened into Chalet Sports. We ran into Ben who has been a mechanic for 20 plus years. I found a bike that fit perfect but found another bike that had some features I really wanted. Ben explained the differences between the bikes and made a few equipment swaps and wahla, I walked out w the perfect bike. Well played Chalet!
Great, friendly, knowledgable staff, highly recommended.
I always have the most wonderful experience here. Kyle went above and beyond to make sure my boots were fitted properly and to address the concerns I had with foot pain in my boots. He had incredible knowledge of ski boots and explained it all well. As a woman in an outdoor store its not often that Im treated with respect l, I appreciate how friendly and kind everyone in the store was. Thanks for making skiing better for me!
Bought a pair of ski boots at the beginning of this season and had to make a warranty claim within 2 months. I was kept in the dark for over 5 weeks until new boots were shipped to the store. And the best part? I get there and I’m told I have to pay the shipping cost for the boots. I just missed 5 weeks of skiing and had to pay more money just to get my replacement boots back?! That’s one way to lose a local customer...
Thank you for the boots. I always find comfortable shoes here. Great people. Thank you. We went to open range. Thanks girls.
Great ski shop, super low key gang that knows their gear and they have a ton of it. Highly recommend this place.
The best customer service, all of the team members are so sweet and happy to help and answer any questions about all gear and products! I love seeing what’s new and saying hello to this amazing store very regularly!!
We went in to rent skis for the following day. There was a family (3 people) already there in the process of renting skis. We filled out our paperwork (5 of us) and waited and watched the process. Only one person out of the three in the ski shop were helping the family and it was apparent that this would take a very long time to complete. I watched for another 3 minutes and realized that for him to outfit my family would take at least an hour working by himself so we left and went to another ski rental place. Cant comment on the quality of the equipment but service is too slow.
Ben is great in the ski shop and really knowledgeable. He’s a local kids ski coach and knows how to keep them interested and having fun while getting the right gear (kids suck trying on ski gear they complain and will make 100% of choices based upon color)
Extremely helpful staff. I had some delay in the financing for a bike that I had a deposit on and they let me take a demo out till everything was clear. Extremely pleased. I worked with three of the guys named Ben and a Tom and Sara. Very happy with the service. Definitely recommend
Got some boots fit today and really enjoyed the help I got in the ski section of the store. I cant say the same for the help i received with clothing, the boss lady seemed pissed off and very rude to her employees. I do think they had a great selection of equipment though.
Its hard to find good help in ski shops sometimes but Adam really gave us his time and help. We went to nearly every ski shop and we got great help here. Big thing is they will set your boots and liners even if you buy a clearance or last years sale boot, unlike round house and grizzly who only give you boot fitting assistance for free if you buy a new pair. If you buy a sale pair they charge you 80 bucks to set the liner, unlike chalet sports and Bob wards (who were also very helpful), btw.
While I was visiting Bozeman, needed to purchase my kiddo a Patagonia Duffel bag (one size down from 90L.), so they could easily transport their clothing home in between breaks. Logically, thinking we needed the next size down, they immediately stepped in and explained that there was an error on sizing... and the Patagonia 70L is the SAME SIZE AS the 90L, so what I really needed was the 55L. Yay, it also cost less!!!Thank God, I went to the RIGHT PLACE to make a BIG purchase! Thank you, thank you, it’s not everyday you run into folks who genuinely care ~ I will definitely be back during my next visit to visit my kiddo @ MSU!!! Also, LOVE, LOVE the Alp-N-Rock sweater I snagged while I was there!!!❤️Stacy
Ask for Dan Jenkins in the ski shop! Im a noob to skiing and he spent a ton of time with me just discussing how to figure out sizing in the boots and the type of insoles I would need based on the dimensions of my foot! I had no idea how many things there were to consider. These guys are thorough and professional and wont treat you like a snob. Will continue to do business at Chalet!
Went in to get my bindings fixed on my skis (on Christmas Eve )they were quick and didn’t even charge me
Nice store a lot of options
Good selection and mostly some knowledgeable employees who give good advice based on their personal experience. Good selection of rentals.
Chalet is a fantastic place to find gifts for your family and friends who love outdoor activities. Great staff and wonderful selection of quality gear.
Great staff, helpful and friendly. Good sales, keep your eyes open.
Great selection of high quality clothing for any season, also have skis and bikes.
Chalet takes amazing care of the family year round and are big supporters of the Bridger Ski Foundation freestyle team. I love shopping local where the staff is awesome!
Amazing people! I ran into a warranty issue with a Yakima bike rack (that I DID NOT purchase from them). I was in the middle of a road trip with a broken rack and no way to carry the bikes I brought with. While REI wouldn’t work with the Yakima customer support to process my claim, these guys did it happily. I showed up at their store and was greeted by friendly staff that was already working to assemble the new bike rack. They made me feel welcome and shared some local beta on MTB rides and camping. I was blown away by their willingness to help even though there was nothing in it for them - especially since I hadn’t spent a dollar with them. These guys deserve your business and they will treat you right.
Ski Shop Snobs. Ive experienced it every time I have gone in there. I can walk up to a counter, both the front and the back, and stand there for 15 seconds before anyone says anything to me. They notice Im there, were standing three feet apart, but they would rather carry on their conversation about their weekend plans or talk about their friends new sick tattoo with their coworkers than greet a customer. And tonight, when the girl did finally acknowledge me, all she said was $15, not even a Hello. This is the third time in a row that Ive had a negative experience at Chalet. I would so much rather give my money to one of the other local outdoor shops in town whos employees have decent manners. Thoroughly unimpressed.
Friendly service paired with great selection make it a must for shipping for winter gear and more.
Guys at the tuning shop weren’t very helpful or polite when I asked for service. Due to the lack of proffessionalism we decided to go to another shop to find help.
Great place with awesome support staff. Always a pleasure going here to get work on my skis and bikes.
Having never bought shoes here before, I walked in and went up to the counter where 3 employees stood chatting. I was one of maybe 3 total customers in the shop at the time. I asked if they carried Chacos and I got a point in the direction and a yeah, over there, where the shoes are, said with just a bit more sass than what wouldve been reasonable. I go to said section and peruse the shoes until I find the right ones. I walk back up to the counter and ask the three people, still chatting, if I could get a size. No joke, they ALL sigh at me and look at each other to decide which person is going to have to walk the 15 feet to the back. The guy says to one of the gals why dont you do it, youre the shoe expert. Fine, she replies. Feeling a little under appreciated as a third of the potential business in the store, I sarcastically say to the gal helping me, wow, Im really sorry to be an inconvenience right now. Thinking I was serious, she shakes her head and smiles, oh no, its ok.She gets the shoes, I try them on, and as they were the last place in town to have an Chacos left, I reluctantly bought them to replace a pair Ive had for 5 years. That being said, I will probably never come in to willingly buy anything in this store again. But if I do, Ill at least know where the shoes are to avoid another potential eye role from the extremely busy young children running the store.
Chalet sports is where I come when I want to look and order my skis, the stock there is decent and the staff are really helpful
Came in to get some bike work done and Cayden, Ensley, and Kara helped me get my bike back on the trails and did a great job. Thanks
Great shop. Helpful and friendly staff.
Great help, but with the prices i cant see why I wouldnt go to REI.
Good bike shop with helpful and knowledgeable staff - don’t really shop there for anything else. Parking is very minimal.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff and service.
Always very helpful and knowledgeable.
The carry Pivot Cycles!
Unknowledgable staff with an unfriendly attitude.
Great staff.
These guys Rule
Great service
Friendly courtesy staff
