I was in a car Collison in March. The autobody shop where I live was fully booked and there was no way they would be able to have my car done within even 3 months. Therefore, I reached out to Downeast Autobody and they were able to get me in to the shop that day. I had a lot of problems when I went to pick up my car the first time. The first time I had went to get my car they had completed all the work nicely but my tire that was damaged in the accident was replaced with a brand new tire. With an all wheel drive vehicle you cannot put a brand new tire on without replacing all tires or it matching your other treads. I was a little disappointed about that due to I would have never known if my husband had not come with me to get it. I explained my frustrations to a gentleman named Scott. He had agreed that it was not right and the mechanic should have flagged that. In the end, Geico had only agreed to pay for a new tire and not a tire that would match the rest of my tread. Scott took it upon himself to find me a tire with the same tread and came good for this word and replaced it within a week. The following week I had my sister go pick up the car and drive it to me. When she had gotten to my house she said the car seemed shaky when she hit the brakes. Sure enough they were bad. Also my car unlocks automatically when you put your hand in the door as long as the key is on you. The right side had still worked and the Left side (where I was hit) no longer worked. Being upset that this is now the second time I would have to bring it back to Bangor (2 hours from me) I called Christie and let her know what was going on. She contacted her manager and had me speak with him immediately with what was going on. The rotors were no longer good as the car had sat for so long ( normal for being in a collision). Tom went above and beyond. Not only did he fix my rotors and the door issue, he had a gentleman drive down with a loaner to my work and take my car. The next day Tom had my car back to my work and completely fixed.In the end, I did not have a good start. But with patience and the great staff at this place they always came good for what they said. Geico my policyholder on the other hand could have cared less that I was going to drive an unsafe vehicle twice with my unborn child and 3.5 year old. When the Autobody shop called to tell them what was wrong they refused to pay it and would let me drive it like that.( Because they had already paid everything they owed they stated) I will be dropping them as a carrier.

I have used this business for all my repair needs since 2000. They where outstanding until now... no wonder my insurance company no longer lists them as a preferred provider lesson learned this time going into this repair i understood parts currently take time and even though they failed to order them all at once to include common trim that should have been a no brainer i could tolerate that but they did not communicate issues with me or even steps like they had in past, they didnt even offer a rental they failed to call back with information as promised my completion date went over twice 5plus weks later they call me an hour and half before they close i live one hour away and tell me its ready come get it...i pick it up no go over here is your paperwork its out front i open it up and its still overed in bag powder mud on doors and sticker glue on window ...knowing i wasnt happy they put the candle in their unprofessional performance in a way that will guarantee i never come back....dont know what happened to this business over the past two years but they are not customer service oriented anymore and it shows and their performance was sub par...my truck is done and time will tell if its work was as sub optimal as the customer care...

I cannot say enough things about this place. I was impressed before my car was even repaired. The customer service is a reminder of what standards other businesses should follow. Too often, customer service is not the priory of businesses. These days it is rare to find what I experienced here. The true definition of Maine hospitality. Big shout out to Jim. Wasn’t working with a favorable insurance company, but he earned his paycheck. Always available and willing to help.Wait, you didn’t see your car yet and you are this happy?I imagine walking my daughter down the aisle feels like what walking to my car felt like. Perfection. My car looks better than it did before my accident.

Poorly done, incomplete, and scarily unsafe repairs were made to my vehicle by Downeast, even after they took significantly longer than their original quoted repair time. I ended up having to bring my vehicle to another shop to have a significant amount of repairs done that Downeast missed completely. The mileage in and mileage out on the invoice from Downeast were exactly the same, which tells me that they didn’t even road test the car after performing thousands of dollars of body work. I was without my vehicle for over two months before it was fully repaired, with my insurance only covering a rental for 30 days. I had to pay out of pocket for a rental while another shop finished repairing my vehicle properly. I hate giving poor reviews online, especially during these trying times, but this is just unacceptable. I’ve been in contact with the manager about this and he has stopped replying despite my several attempts to follow up. After being a customer for years, it’s safe to say I will never bring another car here.

I had to stop in here to take care of 2 small scratches on my hood. The staff here are very friendly and helped me get the issues taken care off fast and easy. Even though I hope I wont have to visit this place again anytime soon. Im happy to know that there is a place I can go to take care of my issues.

I made an appointment for my car for February 6th, it had small dents on it from branches falling on it during a wind storm, but was still perfectly drivable. I asked them if they would look at it and order the parts first, as my insurance didnt cover a rental and I was paying for a rental car each day I didnt have my car. They wouldnt look at it first, and said it would take about 2 weeks. I had reserved the cheapest rental car from them which wasnt even available when I went to pick it up. They didnt even START working on the vehicle until 18 days later. Im paying for a rental car for 18 days for no reason, which is incredibly expensive. Now theyre telling me the car wont be done for another THREE WEEKS. making it 6 WEEKS total for something that was going to take two weeks. On top of that, they refused to refund me ANY of the money I spent on their rental, for no reason while my perfectly drivable car was just sitting there at their shop. Absolutely terrible customer service, I would have been ok with the extensive time its taking them if they would of done the right thing and refunded me SOME of what I spent on the rental while they werent even working on my car. I should have gotten my car back while they werent working on it to save money on the rental.

As soon as I walked through the door, everyone person I spoke with was extremely helpful. Estimator, Jim Dunton, did a thorough job on my (preliminary) estimate, now I need to wait from the other drivers insurance company, so my vehicle can get repaired.

Customer service was excellent from start to finish. Good customer service is becoming a rarity these days, but Downeast Auto Body was just excellent. The repair was timely, just as quoted, work was superb, and there were no issues with communication through my insurance (USAA). They even washed the exterior AND interior of my car. I gave it to them covered in salt and dirt due to it being the middle of winter, and I got it back spotless. Highly recommend.

Downeast Auto Body did a great job with my repair, worked directly with my insurance company to get a speedy approval, and kept me informed all during the process. The replacement parts for my car were hard to find but they quickly found the parts needed and went out of their way to finish the job when my schedule changed. The office staff was very personable and had all the paperwork ready for me when I picked up my car.

Excellent, friendly customer service. The quality of the repair work is top-notch, from the paint-matching to the restoration and replacement of components. During a brief test drive after work completion, I noticed a vibration of the engine hood. It was quickly adjusted by a technician in the shop. After that, I drove away and headed home, which involves a 90 minute drive. On the way. I observed a continuing, albeit to a lesser degree, hood vibration. So I will need to stop in during my next trip to Bangor and have a technician make another adjustment. I consider this a minor inconvenience, and not an indictment of Down East Body Shop quality of service and craftsmanship. However, absent the inconvenience, I would have given a five-star rating. And I have their assurance that they stand behind their work, which gives me peace of mind.

My car was fixed here after someone had hit it in a parking lot. When I brought it in the service counter was friendly and helpful. They explained to me the scope of work and an estimated timeline. Every few days I received a phone call updating me on the process and letting me know any changes in the deadline. When my car was returned that work that had been done was excellent! You couldnt tell anything had been replaced.

I liked the whole experience. They called me with updates without me calling first. Last year both my husbands truck and my previous vehicle had a tree fall on them; we went two different autobody shops and both were horrible. We have taken two cars there in the past 6 months (a Subaru and a Ford) and have been quite impressed with the results. This week I took my Ford back in because some parts associated with the repairs didnt seem to be 100% and they replaced them same day, no questions asked. Good, clear, communication and honesty seem to be standard operating procedures here, just dont be surprised if you dont always get a call right back if you have a question, as they do seem to be operating at maximum capacity most days.

Two stars are only so someone will read this. This is truly a one star for customer service. Their work quality is marginal on average. Every time I have gone here they have messed something up or tried to just get something out of the shop faster than they should have without attention to detail. Shelly the feeble minded estimator should be terminated and DOES NOT have a clue what she is doing. If you decide to go here anyways run the other way if you see her coming to look at your vehicle. Advice: Go someplace else where they fix your vehicle correctly the first time and might actually care if you raise concerns over your repair.

Downeast Auto Body has taken care of our family vehicles TWICE after collisions with deer, both times with excellent service. One repair was under $1000 in damage to a Rav 4 and required just a few days and a few parts - the other was over $8000 in damage to an almost-new Tacoma. Both vehicles look just like new. Both times the claims were handled with ease, quickly and painlessly. I would highly recommend them. P.S. The detailing job done on the vehicle interior/exterior was such a nice surprise!! :)

Downeast Autobody;I recently had my truck repaired after being backed into. The process was painless. Scott at Downeast Autobody worked up the quote, handled dealing with the other insurance company, and assisted lining up my rental.My truck looks as good as new, and I didnt have to lift a finger! I would certainly consider using them again, although I hope I do not have to.I will add that it was, at times hard to reach Scott, but their office was always very busy so I would not knock the service.
