Atmosphere:When I entered the store, it was quaint but filled with equipment, accessories, and memorabilia (artists/prior bands/family). Felt like a place that one could just come in talk with owner or even practice ones guitar.Service:Right upon entering I was greeted by Bobby and asked what my name was and if needed assistance with anything. I told him I was looking into guitar strings and he asked me a plethora of questions in regards to the strings that I wasnt sure I knew. He then begun to ask me about brand and type of guitar and recommended what he felt would be better for me, but also showcased me the better strings if I was looking for quality and longevity. He had passion and knowledge of all the products and accessories he had in his store.Quality:Although I know little to nothing about guitars, other than playing songs from ultimate-guitar, the products on display looked very high quality and presentation addressed that. At the time there was a teenager considering a purchase of a nice guitar and Bobby made him aware of tone, care, and mechanics of the guitar. Additionally, when asked if he could play guitar on the amp, Bobby reiterated that he didnt have to go all out to get the right sound. He even showed the teenager the proper way to store and care for the cables connecting guitar to amp. Just goes to show that he has a knack of taking care of things to ensure its lifespan.Bobby made it aware to me starting this March that Thursday - Saturday that he will have like an open guitar session for those who want to practice their skill or be in the company of those with similar interests.
Havent been there, but sounds great 👍
I went in there and had the best time! Never met a more down to earth person! Highly recommended place! Bobby is a cool cat!
Ive been taking lessons from him for a few months now and hes great. He emphasizes feeling the music rather than traditional robotic playing. Makes the lessons fun and makes you want to go out and learn more. He is also super flexible with my crazy school schedule.
Bobby (the owner) is a great dude. Bought a bass from him at a great price. My 15 year old daughter takes lessons from him at a very reasonable price. About half the cost of another guitar place in College Station. Very personable and my daughter loves him. She is eons ahead on her guitar skills thanks to Bobby. He lets me sit in on her lessons and sometimes we jam with me on bass. Highly recommended.
My GO TO place for guitar strings! Bobby is great and he has very reasonable prices when you compare it to Guitar Center! He sells 2 packs of any guitar string that IS NOT Elixirs for $15 which is a steal!
Im not sure why there are negative reviews on here but I can say that Bobby is and always has been really good to me. He may not have the largest selection but he has always been fair with me and given me the best deal he could when ever I bought something from him (and I have purchased several items from the store). Just for the record when I purchased an acoustic guitar from the store at no time was I told to wash my hands. I was told to play as many as I wanted until I found one that was right for me.
I am giving the Guitar Studio a 4 out of 5 stars based solely on customer service. The man that owns and runs this store is easily one of the nicest people I have ever met. nohaver09 must have had an isolated experience because there has never been a time in this store that this man hasnt gone out of his way to make sure that I was finding everything alright. I only gave 4/5 stars because I do feel the guitar selection is limited at best. But for being one of the few guitar shops in town, this is without a doubt my spot for buying strings.
Friendly owner, has a guitar tech if you need fixing up. Cares about the community. Whats not to love?
Super chill place.
Good solid service and maybe a cold beer if your lucky
I called up there just to ask about the hours he is open because he doesnt have his hours posted on Google search, several times where i go to his place and he is never there. Then when I asked on the phone he got offended and asked WHAT DO I WANT?! I asked because I dont know about his business days but to get rude with me is unethical and unnecessary. I wanted him to do work on my 7 string but I guess I will never go back there again. I wish I can give him negative stars
Really pricey but what else can you expect from a guitar store
Every time I come in to look at a guitar the owner (Bobby) always smells of liquor. Today I came in with serious intent to buy one of his guitars. I had the cash in my pocket ready to go. I started playing the guitar I came in to buy and there was a weird rattle that Id never heard before. I questioned him on why it was there and he began to blame my technique. Then he played and it was still there as he tried to tell me that acoustic guitars should only ever be strummed at a mezzo piano volume. I found it to be odd... When I asked to play another one that didnt have a rattle he started getting condescending and sarcastic with me saying I dont know much, Ive only been performing since 1975. Theres no rattle in that guitar. If there is its probably because of the way youre playing it. Screw you, dude. I didnt come here for your freakin attitude and to be talked down to. Just fix the rattle or find one that doesnt have a rattle. Good gravy. After this experience with Bobby I will never be coming back. Id rather buy my guitar from someone who doesnt smell like liquor at 11am and isnt a jerk to their customers.
Great store, like everyone says the owner is a cool guy who knows what hes talking about
Bobby is very helpful and will take care of you.
Great place with an awesome owner.
Bobby is the kind of guy that is immediately your friend right when you look at him.
If he smells of liquor before 11am Im buying all my gear from him! I like him already!!!
Bobby, the owner, knows guitars and music and always has a deal.
Nice guy
Cool!!
