The nice and friendly staff do not make up for the cost ($$$ - very expensive), time (+2yrs) and aggravation (painted twice and still not acceptable). I paid for show quality work (have lots of receipts to prove it) and ended up with a sub par paint job. Took the car back after the first time they painted it for a total respray and still have clear runs and places where they burnt through the clear while sanding. There is no QA in this place, so if you decide to use them, look over your car closely. Warning - read the reviews of actual customers...not people who visit the shop or talk to them on the phone.
First class from top to bottom! They arent cheap or quick so they arent the place for you if you arent looking for top notch quality. They worked miracles on my Camaro after another cheap shop butchered it. Thanks again guys!! See you at the shows!
So many cars! they let me walk thru and state at them. nice staff, patient and answered lots of questions
Our family has owned our 1968 Chevy II Nova SS since new. Over the years wear and tear took its toll on our Nova to the point it was no longer safe to drive. In January 2017, I commissioned Big Russ Hutchins of R&M Performance, Cambridge, MD, to fully restore my 1968 Chevy II Nova SS to near stock condition. In about 1 year, they completed the Nova as I had requested. The staff at R&M, Big Russ, Matt, Ricky, Steve, Kyle, Robin, Morgan, Jonathan, and others were fantastic to work with. The car came out incredible and the quality of the restoration was phenomenal! Big Russ told me that I’d probably want to take the Nova to car shows. Initially, I didn’t think so, but I quickly changed my mind. The first show I entered the Nova in it received an award. The countless comments about the quality of this restoration is unbelievable. In 2018, the Nova received 7 awards in 9 shows I entered. In 2019, 9 awards out of 12 shows entered. The most satisfying award was received at the 2018 Nova Nationals at Carlisle. It was a 3rd Place in the Stock 68-72 category. The shows I’ve entered ranged from 26 to over 200+ cars in attendance. A short story of the Nova along with a few pics was included in Muscle Car Review magazine in the November 2019 issue “Reader’s Rides Special”. I was turning the pages and proudly smiled when I came across the story. The great folks you meet at car shows is crazy good. For me, the tons of Nova stories I hear is so cool.I have been bitten by the car show bug.R&M has always stood by their work, and have been very accommodating when I’ve called them. They have been outstanding! If you have a treasured ride you need revived, I highly recommend that you give Big Russ at R&M a call and let them take care of it.Regards - Randy B.
This experience I have had with R&M Performance is very sad. I had high hopes, they have a large shop, seemingly skill-full employees, and exude positive qualities until you deliver the car. They will quote you low. Low to the tune of charging me $19k after an $8k quote. Yes I paid more than double the original quote for work they didnt finish and other work they completed below standard. They will tell you they have space on the calendar and your car will be done quickly. Three months after the original one month quote they still told me to leave the car with them. The job was to install the interior, electric RS headlight doors, repair surface rust to the trunk lid and drip rail, align/repair door windows, install a full stereo system, and more. Now, there were a lot of ankle biters with this build. Mostly laborious job items that take real time to do. The kind that could really take all four hours that you got billed for. I knew that going in and was willing to accept an over reach on the billing and the breakdown on the quoted time allotted. In the end I didnt care about the time or money over-reach so long as it was for a quality product. This was a mistake. I now have a car where the back seat looks like a wadded up pillow with cuts in the material, several new scratches in the cars paint, there is rust still showing in areas I specifically pointed out for repair, window trim that falls off the first time I turn the window knob, headlights that are hidden by the grill bc of misalignment, and the list goes on. During pickup, I could barely contain myself when after I pointed out the rusty bolts on the rear spoiler the tech handed me a can of paint and said well if you want to do it you can with this. He had just painted the trunk by the way. Do not fall for the weekly billing ploy. Every photo they provided me online was fought over on the phone with warnings of bill disputes. Every invoice was sent promptly on Fridays, pay now or we dont work on your car this coming week. My CC was always charged promptly within minutes or hours of my approval to an invoice via email but it took days to return phone calls, emails, and pleas for information on the car. In the end they said it was me, the condition of the car, their lack of information on the build, and even the overtime pay to employees were all to blame for the shoddy workmanship and over-reach of the build. Take your car to them if money and time are no object and you can stand being lied to. Bottom line, I paid for someone to install the interior and I now have to finish installing it at another shop. I paid to have surface rust repaired, this is a restoration shop no less, and now have to take it somewhere else. I paid to have electric RS headlight doors installed in an already RS equipped car and have to get them fixed somewhere else. I pulled my car from them and am so dissatisfied with the work that I am considering selling a car that I have owned for 20 years and love.
These guys are the best! I spoke to Big Russ about bringing in my Camaro, and he was actually excited to talk to me-- It was so obvious how much everyone there cares about cars, and they did a phenomenal job on mine. Ill be recommending them to everybody in the future!

R&M performance did an excellent job of reviving the cars overall condition in the appearance and integrity of the body. Highly recommended.
R&M sent over someone to pick my busted classic after the engine stopped working. The guy who came was the nicest person, taking care to find out as much as he could before taking my car in. When I got it back, it was in the best condition it had ever been in.
These guys had some great pointers and advice when it came to restoring my 69 Cougar. They were easy to understand, and even easier to work with.
After researching the best shop in the area, I came across R&M performance who had awesome reviews. I was not disappointed.

Me and my family do barn clean outs and occasionally come across an old vehicle or two. We use and trust all our restorations to R&M Performance. They do great work in a very reasonable amount of time. We cannot reccomend them enough.
I needed to find a special headlight for an old Coupe, and not only were they able to find it, they were able to install it properly, so it looks exactly the same. The customer service on their side was more than helpful.
I needed help restoring my Dads 57 Chevy, and these were the guys to help restore her to her former glory.

Quite great work in restoring my car! Would reccomend it every time!
They are honest, thorough, reliable, and have fair prices. This place is everything you could want.
In this day and age where customer service seems to be a lost art, you guys really set yourselves apart. Russ and the entire team couldnt have been better to deal with during my entire project.
Disappointed keep hearing the same excuses over and over again no reason for a company to take 5 years to build your car and nobody can give you a reason why so sad I fill like this is a nightmare very concerned
The guys here are super professional and clearly know what they are doing. I will continue to bring my business to them.
Dont waste your Time
