Cute cafe/bakery with fast service, plenty seats and amazing food! The short rib grilled cheese sandwich ($10.5) was delicious and the traditional shakshuka ($13) was authentically great. The latte ($4.25) was the best around. The dessert mixed fruit box ($7) was freshly made and tasted so good. We loved Tatte and will definitely come again!
I love tatte sandwiches especially their chicken pita (pic not included). Who knew that roasted squash are wonderful in sandwiches. I loved the flavor and texture of that one. Their cookies and pie are worth a try if you stop by. Staff are always friendly at this location. I prefer to order ahead because they are usually busy.
Very friendly staff. We made a pastry and dessert run. We got a chocolate rose, pecan mini tart, pistachio and cherry tart bar, and a a few other things. Location was as beautiful as presentation of food. We went early( prior to 9am) was not busy. I will say that some of the pastry and desserts were better than others, some we did not enjoy at all, while that is a taste preference, we felt that the desserts were hyped up too much. Having said that, we would go back again for the vibes, picturesque cafe and the desserts we did enjoy.
This pistachio cheesecake-looking thing might catch your glimpse but don’t get fooled! 1, it’s not a cheesecake, there’s wrapper around to hold the mousse. 2, if you try to reach for that crust for a cheesecake experience, you won’t — this is the kind that you’ll need to eat that as a separate overboardly sweet cookie. 3, the best thing about this $9 cake is the pistachio on top.. but if you just walk a couple steps more, can get 100x more of those goodness in much more decent price.
This is an amazing place for brunch or breakfast! They have so delicious baked products. I ordered a pistachio vanilla donut. It was big enough for two people. My boyfriend and I ordered Shakshuka with corn and spinach, and avocado tartine. They have a great selection of coffees. Some lattes have unique flavors. Be aware that this place is mostly crowded. If you drive there be careful because they do not have a parking lot available. Overall, everything is amazing!
Be warned if you go on the weekend around lunchtime it will be difficult to find a seat. Its for good reason though. The food is great and I would consider the prices highly reasonable for the quality.
Pretty good (I had a good experience with a Tatte Bakery in another location). If you are ordering pickup then make sure they’ve added the appropriate amount of creamers and plastic flatware to your order. They missed the half and half in my tea and forgot to throw in flatware. Fast service and food prep and of course the food tasted great. Had a tuna sandwich and split the pastry basket which was full of fresh pastries and single servings of jam and butter.
Can’t believe they disabled online ordering. Extremely lazy move, alienating their loyal customers so they can maintain a big, scene-y line inside. Sad!
Crowded but well worth the visit. Amazing pastries, excellent cappuccino. We ordered caramel mousse and a chocolate rose, both amazing, and the almond croissant is the best I tried so far!
Yummy! Love their oat cappuccino and their shakshukas - we always look forward to coming here every time we visit Boston. Great pastries too and their sourdough is one of our favorites!
Such bitter, disgusting coffee that tastes like its been in a dirty pot for days. Not sure why theres such big hype here, but the location around them is always energetic and upbeat.
Tatte is consistently unimpressive. I don’t understand the hype. The croissant was overly sweet, the coffee was mediocre and the breakfast sandwich was completely inedible. It tasted of burnt toaster and old oil. Sad I wasted my money.
Busy spot, but worth the wait in line! The multigrain avo smash is worth going back for!
This place is okay, and the shakshuka here is amazing and deserves a 5 star if reviewed as an individual dish! The issue is price, and also a slight issue with portion sizes. Otherwise, I like the vibe and the overall quality seems to be very good.
Always a pretty place to brunch, study or take a date, this Tatte has opened their second floor again after the COVID closings. I recommend you come early on weekends or when universities are in session to be sure of snagging a seat or table.
Just be aware: Cashier watches whether you pay tips or not. No tips(for 2 tea cakes and coffee, no cooked food), cashier will purposefully pick baked goods with faults. Crust all around was missing on the tea cake. Thought it was a minor issue but this tells they have terrible customer service overall. Imagine what they would do when cooked food is ordered.....best to make sure to pay tips here if you are going.
Always great food, great viennoiserie and above all, fantastic bread. Love going there early morning when it is not too crowded to work too.
Its a good restaurant but the service isnt really good,if you want to order something, you have to stand in a big line.
Came here because of its popularity around campus, and it was truly packed! Even on a Sunday afternoon, I order a Juniper Lime soda drink and it was quite interesting, a little like sprite but a tad bitter. The iced green tea latte seemed very tasty, give it a try if you happen to visit. The staff was very nice and friendly, didn’t seem like she was bothered at all by the long line extended out of the door, make sure you think twice if you are in a rush, because the wait is about 20-30 min for a cup of coffee!🍡Must order🍡- Green tea latte📜Score (five star scale):🏝Environment: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍Services: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🍽Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️💰Price: ~USD 5/person
Great goods and free wifi so 5 was totally well deserved. Complimentary water! We loved croque monsieur and turkey BLT. Nutella butter cookies were awesome too. Toilets were clean. We preferred upstairs with the chilled vibes of a coffee bar! Plenty of outlets for powering up your devices!
I had the roasted cauliflower pita and it had so much flavour and it had the perfect amount of spice to where it made me crave more! We also had the chicken salad sandwich and avocado & sweet potato tartine and they both were incredible tasting!! I love the area its located at and the patio scenery. I would definitely recommend this place!!!
Nice bakery with a wide range of desserts. We tried the tiramisu and cheesecake which were good. The food was good too. We had the lamb meatball tiramisu and spinach yogurt turkish salad. Both were good, recommended. Loved the breads!
Arguably its one of the best bakeries in Boston. And its definitely the best latte in Boston.Atmosphere - great, very simple, yet nice and clean. Makes you concentrate on food and on people you are with rather than looking around.Service - friendly and helpful! Great recommendations and great small talks :)Food - ... You just have to try it. There is something for every taste here. And its all so delicious. Their nut boxes - oooomg! Peach and walnut brioche buns are also very good, especially when warmed up. And blackberry cloud was crunchy on the outside and little soft inside - just how I like it!Definitely a place to drop by if you are in Boston.Mind it - long line ups. If you would like a sit down experience - might take a while. But still worthwhile!
Cashier misheard me a thousand times, which made me have to refund and pay again. He told the manager as if I was the one who changed my mind, so that was a bit annoying lol. Other than that the food was fine.
First time was delicious - peach and ricotta tartine, pistachio and cherry tart.Flat bread the second time was doughy and inedible. Thankfully had a croissant to dip In My coffee to make up for it.
Excellent coffee and a very friendly staff! Love coming to tatte :)
Great selections of baked goods. Wait time for coffee order took a while. But excellent friendly staff
It’s my birthday today and I thought of doing a quick brunch at Tatte. The server took 20 minutes to serve my order and got it wrong the first time. They took another 5 minutes to get it wrong the second time. After waiting another 5 minutes, I asked them if they could speed up my order since I had to head out in 10 minutes but was rudely told by the manager that they had to complete the tickets that came up in the interim and could only get to my order after all the other tickets. I asked if they could serve my order in the next five minutes but the manager rudely said that they were doing the best they could. Let’s review their score card- they messed up my order twice, took over 30 minutes, and were non-apologetic. If that’s the best they can do, they deserve a 1.
Strange -- Espresso Lattes are very very good and Mocha Lattes are bad. This is based on multiple visits to 2 Tatte locations over 3 years. Croissants are huge and delicious, especially the chocolate ones. Sorry, as a chocolate lover who orders a mocha latte and croissant by default at any coffee shop, minus 1 star due to bad mochas.
Very Good Breakfast, Traditional Shakshuka was very good. Also please try Oatmilk added coffee. It is very good too.
The coffee in this place is the best part... Stumptown Coffee is the best Ive ever tasted, here and at its origin in Oregon.Desserts are very good as well, but sometimes they feel not a 5-star quality. It actually depends on which branch you go to... this particular branch is not my favorite despite the fact its one of bigger ones for Tatte. That actually might be the cause, that theyre too busy to focus of providing the best service compared to smaller branches.Anyway, dont hesitate the visit Tatte... Its a great place to try multiple times. I would give this place 5 stars for the coffee, but Im taking one off for the dessert and service in this branch.
Very delicious looking baked good. Had the Jerusalem bagel and it was so good. Had the shakshuka with lambmeatballs which was delicious! Pretty big so maybe good for sharing if you want pastries as well or cakeMany other things to try on the menu for breakfast from sandwiches to brunch dishes and freshly baked bread. Tasty cold brew and fresh orange juice as well. The place itself is very nice. Hang by the window and watch the world go by.
Love the food at tatte. Get some friends, grab a table, send someone or two people to order and wait for your delicious food to come out. To go and for here, it’s all good and highly recommend the sakatash (Hope I spelled it right). Definitely will be back to Tatte either here or one of its many locations.
Terrible service!! I was with my 7 year old waiting for my order, the hostess told me to wait outdoors. We were both masked and respecting social distance. I told her it was freezing outside, my child was shaking from the cold, so I told her they should have heaters if they want people to wait outside, and she answered that it was my choice to come in! Yes, definitely a bad choice!! There were plenty of other coffee options with heaters, seating and better service around I could have chose, Definitely not coming back!!!!
Excellent food, service not so good. It was freezing outside (no heaters), my wife was waiting for the order inside then she was ordered to wait outside (it was 30⁰ F). The attendant said to my wife that it was her choice to come hear. For sure I will never come back.
Bustling bakery cafe with amazing eats! Always a wait for the bathroom, but food is worth this minor inconvenience.
SO disappointed every time ive went. I tried so hard to love it but I just couldn’t. Terrible food, customer service, and overall place. Don’t waste your money.
Tatte is our go-to when we need someone else to handle the coffee, eggs, salads, soup, or treats... which may be more often than Id like to admit. Since very early quarantine, they took extra care to package everything and keep employees and customers safe. When little was open, a drive to Tatte to pick up safe takeout was a source of sanity and excitement in Spring 2020. We continue to look forward to Tatte days; high quality ingredients, treated with care, produce food we love and that we love to share.
Amazing pastries and breakfast options. Coffee not so good at least not for my taste. A must visit when in Cambridge!
Delicious pastries and coffee, and also offers great brunch food with a Mediterranean twist. The crunchy halloumi salad is a favorite.
Extremely stylish and beautifully decorated coffee shop. One of the nicest interior spaces Ive seen honestly. They have wonderful coffees and pastries which match the attractiveness of the interior. I stayed in Cambridge briefly but it quickly became part of my morning routine.
By far the best breakfast I ever had in my life!!
A truly disappointing experience-what a huge letdown that compared unfavorably to its reputation. Stay away, walk a few extra feet, and head to the Smith Center where significantly better options await. Here, there were no vegan pastries, as the manager puts it, “Because the thing about vegan pastries is you can’t make them because of butter” — it was such an inane, dumbfounding thing to hear (especially with countless other vegan-friends cafes around here). The oat milk latte was somehow way too thick and its taste compares poorly to Pavement Coffee’s oat milk latte. We also got a mint lemonade that was overpriced for its size, had no mint taste, and was just oddly tasting. The bathrooms are disgusting, with the trash overflowing.
The design is really pretty and everything looks really good and impressive, but the food isnt that great. I had a really boring fattoush salad and a hard-crusted tart that wasnt as good as it should have been. I also thoight the cashier wasnt particularly friendly. The artichoke quiche we had was really good, however.
Fantastic selection of brunch. Normal prices and usually busy
Thats the place. Very energetic even without a shot of coffee.
Just had coffee and egg and biscuit sandwich, but the eggs were so fluffy and the biscuit was divine . . . the baked goods in the case looked inspired, not just the same old thing.
Amazing bakery with tons of different fresh desserts. Fresh bread and nice and tidy drinks and cozy seatings.
Great pastry shop, so much better than Flour and more reasonable prices too. Come early to snag a cream cheese croissant, as they do get stale later in the day.
Nice place to stop by. Coffee is OK but pastry is outstanding. Recommended.
The food was really delicious, but very crowded inside the store.
My new favorite Cafe. I try something new every time and it never disappoints.
They serve the best shaksuka in Boston. Coffee was good, the staff was very friendly and the cake was nice too. I wish I can give more stars to this place!
Perpetually overcrowded here, but we lucked out by visiting while HarvardUs out of session & as lockdowns ending.Good cafe food; upstairs seating overlooks Harvard Square & is a good place to work with your laptop, phone, or even a paper book.
I love Tatte and I frequently get coffee from there, however they are inconsistent. When I went to pick up my order of cold brew today with no ice, I found that they only filled the cup 2/3 of the way. When I asked why, the barista said this is how they fill orders without ice. As a frequent customer, I know this is not true - I ordered the same thing the previous week, and the cup was filled all the way. While perhaps a small issue, and I normally would not bother to write a review for something so trivial, when I brought this up, I received a shrug of indifference.I feel cheated. Why pay $4.28 for a 16 ounce cup that has only 10 ounces of coffee in it? I will get my overpriced coffee elsewhere.
I really really dont get why so many people love this place. The coffee is mediocre at best, and the pastry isnt much better, plus its quite over priced... After Crema cafe was closed, I dont know where to get coffee anymore near Harvard...
Great coffee and pastries. Lovely area with great natural lighting. Love the buzz from the kitchen and the TOP notch service staff.
Tattes reliability, quality, and selection is second-to-none. Which means get here early because it gets busy!
If youve a sweet tooth and are in Cambridge, Boston, you have to stop at one of the Tatte bakerys...its very popular and has some unique desserts that I have never had in my life...I tried the marshmellow lemon tart, pistachio croissant, orange cake, halwa bomb and the triple chocolate cheesecake, which was the winner! (now you probably know Im a crackhead for sweets) But I would definitely stop by there and try all that they have the next time Im there...They have coffee and sandwhiches too that looked really good, I personally didnt have any sandwiches. They do have a few shops scattered around the area so I guess you never maybe too far from one. They are very crowded during peak times of lunch and even around 4-6pm, you shouldnt go in there expecting to have a sit down break from all your exploring during rish hour (youll be very lucky if you get a seat). If you do end up going during those times you should be preparing for ordering to go and you could have a wait to get your drinks and food ready if you order something other than pastries.
I had heard really good things about Tatte, but it was better than expected!! Perfect place for a rainy day. Even though there was a long line, we got our order quickly. I shared the avocado tartine and walnut coffeecake with a friend, and it was a perfect amount of food for the both of us. I wouldnt order the hot matcha latte again, since I found the taste too strong...Tip: ask someone to heat up your slice of coffeecake!
