Spartan Rides seems like a great place to get good quality bike parts and bikes. They sell a variety of equipment, all of which is on display and most of it you can get a good feel for before you buy, unlike some other places. I bought pedals and gloves, and they were worth their price. Staff were friendly and helpful. I can safely recommend this as a source of quality parts.

Best shop I have found in the valley in my 4 years here! I bought a bike here and some other necessities. The staff is always amazing. Thanks John, JR, and more! Spartan has knowledgeable staff, great techs, good prices and has everything you need to ride in the desert. The layout and selection is also aesthetically pleasing and everything is easy to find. (Most shops in the valley are messy and disorganized)

I can’t say enough good things about this shop! They are always willing to help regardless of the circumstances. My most recent visit was to have my son’s (7 years old) bike raced ready for his first ever race. Their genuine enthusiasm for him is totally infectious and appreciated. Huge thanks to all there (Tiffany, Jimmy, John, Manny, Jeremy, and Troy) for their super high quality workmanship and great guidance. You have earned a lifetime customer here! Keep up the great work!!!

I was out for a ride today with my wife. We were riding down Elliot between Alma School and Arizona when my new “tubeless ready but not tubeless” bike had a flat rear tire. We walked 0.9 miles back to Alma School to Spartan Rides, where we were warmly greeted by John, the owner, and Jimmy and Manny, the mechanics. Where many bike shops would offer to fix the flat when they had time, Jimmy and Manny said they could start working on the bike right away while we waited. I asked them if they could set up the wheels tubeless and they said, “sure, $25 per wheel plus valve stems.” I had them do all four wheels, my bike plus my wife’s bike. Jimmy noticed that our derailleurs weren’t set up correctly so he fixed that, too, and also gave us advice on tire pressures riding tubeless. We were on our way in quite reasonable time with bikes that have a superior ride at a very reasonable price. These guys know what they are doing and they do it well. My mountain bike could use a new front tire and I plan to take it there to get it.

Thank you Jimmy for always willing to look at or repair my bike from the smallest issue to the major ones. The entire staff (Tiffany,John,Jeremy and Manny) are there to assist in all your bike needs. If you are looking for a reputable bike shop stop in to Spartan. You won’t be disappointed. I am a customer for life!! Thank you all!!

Took my bike in for a rear rim replacement and some other stuff. The bike runs great. The mechanic even dropped the bike off to me as I did not have a ride to pick it up. So far, happy.I had a Garmin Speed sensor on the rear hub when I took it in, it was not there when I got the bike back. I did not notice till I took it out for a ride and looked at my watch and wondered why my speed sensor did not pick up. I looked at the rear hub and it was obvious why. I called the shop and asked about it. The manager said he would look I to it and give me a call back but never did. Not even to say they do t have it at the shop.EditIt took 4 days and a bad review for them to me call back. I was not even mad, just trying to find it. Makes me wonder if it was a more serious issue and they ghosted me...

How was it that when i went to Global bikes they charged me $220.00 to put together my bike after i disassembled and painted the frame. Spartan only charged me $65.00 to install new groupset? Best shop in town and i recommended them to all my friends. They also have wide variety of gears and accessories!

I only spend time to write a review if its truly warranted. This shop has earned my business for as long as I live in the Valley. My first time in, Tiffany, Manny, and John were extremely helpful and it was immediately apparent they know their $***. They all gave me their full attention (without being condescending - which is inexplicably rare with most shops) and I could tell they valued me as a customer (you can always tell when people are genuine). I thought for sure I was going to be off my bike for weeks, and they went above and beyond to get me back on the trail the SAME DAY. I know this cant always be the case, but I was super grateful for the whole team. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Best bike shop in all of Arizona. They will take care of you. Tiffany and JR are amazing people who really care about the customer. They are building a community. A lot of bike shops are arrogant and dont really help customers.....not this one. This shop will talk with you and help you with every part. Even after I purchased a new fork they followed up after my first ride to see if they needed to change the settings. They host several free clinics and are engaged with the MTB community. Love this shop and wont go anywhere else. Thanks Spartan.

I needed a brake cable for a BMX bike with a spinner (detangler/gyro) but it was a weird one: two separate cables from the spinner to the rear brake. (Most use a Y cable that goes back to one cable to the brake.) Amazon didnt have it, Landis didnt have it. Called here and they did have it! I refurbish bikes for an orphanage in Mexico, so thats one more Ill be able to take down on my next trip, to make another child happy! Thank you, Spartan!

The owner JR is an honest and compassionate human being who truly cares about veterans and helping them learn to channel their inner strength by investing time into their physical well being. He is a hard worker and is married to someone who is equally as dedicated to helping others learn to find a healthy alternative to survive the hardships that all people go through. I am fortunate enough to know enough about the owner and his intentions on wanting to help others and know that his wife and him are definitely in it to succeed only if it helps people and educate others on how to take care of their body, mind and soul. Incredible people who are honest, hard working, all around good humans. :)

Bike shops have a strange vibe these days, NOT Spartan Rides AZ. Bike shop employees have a condescending vibe these days. NOT Spartan Rides AZ. Here is how I know. Didnt buy my bikes there, Im a new rider and not very good at it. I just want to avoid being fat and have fun. From time to time I break stuff - more on that in a moment.I have gotten to know every employee and the owners by name, (Tiffany and JR, John (with an H - the correct way) Troy, Manny, and Jeremy. And every one of them treat me and the people I send in or refer like lifetime customers. That is HOW you run a great business. The fact they are a Veteran owned biz gives you (me) as a customer another source of pride. And now, my most recent experience. After laying my road bike at their feet with who knows what I did? the new woman Rbeubzezk Crash (yeah, that’s her name) was tasked with fixing it. Not only did she replace the snapped right side shifting cable, but she tweaked and tuned every little thing that I didnt think to mention on the drop off – didn’t need to, she’s clearly a conscientious pro. (You know what you did) The bike now rides better than any time in the 9 months Ive owned it, AND it was ready in 1.5 days AND it was beyond a fair price for all the work and tweaking she did. Thank you.If you are living south of Flagstaff, west of Albuquerque and East of L.A. do your bike, your wallet, and your brain a favor. Go to Spartan Rides AZ, join their MeetUp page, join their brand ambassadors for group rides all over Arizona, skills training and even maintenance sessions in the store. Then, when you are ready to step up, BUY A FN BIKE. I cannot wait for mine, because SPARTANS, RIDE and it’s a great VIBE!

If youre looking for someone to work on your bike, I highly recommend the crew at Spartan Rides AZ. As a newbie to cycling, I often feel a little out of my depth when I go to bike shops. The Spartan guys made me feel totally comfortable, welcoming all of my (many) questions and working on my bike until it felt just right. I felt like they were more interested in helping me fall in love with cycling than they were in trying to sell me expensive things. Thanks, John and team!

I walked in for a tune up. And I got upsold every chance they got. chain, grip you name it. Im all up for having a nice and smooth running bike and wouldnt care the price as long as I know the job was done professionally and in a timely matter. I just got my chain replace not long ago. Its still at about 90% atleast but was recommended by the mechanics at the store to get another one or else my gears would eventually slip if it went below 75% so instead of letting go to 80%. No one wants that happening so I went for it. Tune up. Chain changed. And front shock seal on a rockshox was 4 business days (not counting Sunday). Saturday,Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday Tune up 80. Chain 20+10 labor. Seal 25+50 labor about 210 in total. I was told they didnt have the seal on stock so it had to be ordered. I went here hoping to get my bike returned sooner than expected but that wasnt the case. Walked in owner asked what I was in for. I responded for a tune up. He asked if I had my bike with me. I said yes. He then asked me to take the bike to the back where the mechanics/work area is. As I walked out owner was by the counter alone and didnt say anything to me as in. Have nice day, thanks for the business or a simple is there anything else we can help you with? or if I had any questions of my own (which I did, because Im fairly new to the sport) or anything of that nature just kinda felt like I dropped off my baby at a strangers house and left it at their will lol. I Kinda just walked out and looked back at my visit and it wasnt as in the reviews with the fast returns and great customer service that goes far and beyond to make you feel like a valued customer tbh, Now I actually regret taking my bike there tbh maybe its just that I dont trust them by the way I was treated.::Update I called 5 other bike shops here in the east valley and they all had the shock seal these guys didnt. I would recommend to look elsewhere before stopping here and doing the same mistake I did. an honest review from a real customers

I brought in my hardtail for some fork service and upgrades and JR and Tiffany had to order some parts for me. I was expecting a week or longer and they quoted me 4 days. They got all the service done in a single day and were just waiting on parts. There was some shipping delays due to this whole Covid crazy was and these guys stayed in great contact with me AND GAVE ME A LOANER BIKE FOR FREE TO RIDE WHILE THEY HAD MY BIKE. I cant recommend this local shop enough. Anyone in the phx area stop in and see them. They are top notch!

Such an awesome experience! Let me start off with the customer service, Tiffany was awesome to work with, I asked a ton of questions and had a few special requests and she was VERY accommodating! She worked hard to make sure everything worked out for me, the payment and waiver process was really simple. The bikes are all top notch bikes not a bunch of cheap rental rats that have been beat up. When talking to her on the phone we werent sure exactly what size I needed so she set up 2 bikes for me, one was a large and the other an XL and brought them both! On top of that she walked me through which one was the best fit for me. The fact the price includes delivery and pickup makes their bikes a no brainer for me, whats your time worth? You dont have to interrupt your vacation or free time for a couple hours to get everything figured out, the last thing you want to do is cut your ride short or worry about getting your rental back after a long day on the trail. I will 100% be renting from them again!

Where can you drop your high end MTB off needing serious service and get it back 5 hours later completely finished?Where can you take your MTB for service and have them do half the service free of charge? And where can you network with a Huge group of local riders with the same mentality if how riding is like their church?Spartan Rides is the place.Seriously, Tiffany was extremely helpful in getting me dialed in and J.R. is about as solid a dude as they come. Not to mention, Spartan Rides also leads a riding community locally and all over the Southwest US for amazing epics. These guys are legit.I would reccomend them over Action Rideshop or any other shop I.E. Global, Bikemasters, ect.I wont trust anyone else locally to work on my Pivot.Keep up the great work and thanks for all you do in the local riding community!
