Perfect neighborhood bar environment. Really friendly and helpful staff, and a wide selection of beers (plus ciders). Ample patio seating and even an outdoor tv screen for watching whatever game is on. Only complaint is that the cheese curds weren’t cooked long enough (not melty on the inside sadly), but afterall you come here for the drinks and atmosphere.

Excellent craft beer selections on draft and in the bottle shop. Highly addictive pub food and the best chicken wings in Chapel Hill! Knowledgeable, hard-working and personable team that cares about the customer experience. A great place to hangout, chat with the locals and watch the Tar Heels play ball. An off-campus gem with ample parking. Surprisingly pristine bathrooms! Hard to beat!

Great pretzels (they are huge! We split one 3 ways), they want you to be happy with your selection and let you sample before buying drinks. Lots of great non-alcoholic options as well!

Great pub. Real deal. Excellent, (no, amazing) choice of NC beers. The brat is good and the soft pretzels are crazy. Bill the owner adds to the charm. Happy they are in the neighborhood.

Great place for a low key night out. Good beer selection and friendly staff. Bar menu is limited, but everything we got was delicious. Pretzels were huge and dont forget to grab an ice-cream sandwich to go in your way out.

Great craft beer selection. Too limited wine selection (I prefer wine). However, I did enjoy the delicious key lime gourmet ice cream sandwich from Richmond.

We were there to enjoy a night out and witnessed the owner of the bar start yelling at a customer, taking away his beer and kicking them out from the outside area. The bar tender was not involved and was nice. The owner was not professional in handling a situation, that from what we heard and saw, was nothing. The customer had taken his mask off to drink his beer and the owner started yelling at him that he did not have a mask on. Are you supposed to drink a beer with the mask on??? Very rude and unprofessional owner. We won’t come back.

This is one of my favorite places in chapel hill. The staff is so nice, great beer selection, great food, great ice cream sandwiches! Perfect place to watch a game or just hang out. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating.

The Casual Pint is a wonderful spot in Chapel Hill. They’ve got a varied draft list focusing on local breweries, but also cater to those who aren’t into the whole craft beer scene. Trying hard seltzer on tap was cool and very different than canned. The entire wait staff was helpful, attentive, and kind. Jay helped us navigate their delicious menu to accommodate our dietary restrictions. Definitely try out the cauliflower crust flatbreads! We’ll definitely be back.

We visit this area occasionally to visit family and found this gem. A wonderful, inviting and relaxing atmosphere with excellent service. The outdoor patio was spacious and allowed us to sit with proper distancing. The food was so good. Probably the best pretzel I’ve had in my life. A great variety of local brews. And you must have one of their amazing ice cream sandwiches. We got several flavors and cut them into bites so we could all share. We are visiting again the next time we visit.

Love, love, love the selection of beers on tap! Great place to get a flight and watch the game. Staff was super friendly and attentive. My friend doesnt drink beer and she said the pinot noir was really good and they had quite a few ciders available on tap. The siracha chili bourbon meatballs were deelish and the ginormous brauhouse pretzel with beer cheese was so good and fun for our kids to share plus board games upstairs. You can even grab a growler of your favorite flavor to go. We were dancing out the door with the cool music too!

We come here frequently with our puppy to sit outside and enjoy a few beers. They have a great selection of beers, yummy food, and delicious ice cream sandwiches. I’ve only been visiting since COVID restrictions have been in place and they take all necessary precautions. What makes this place great is the staff. Every single time we’ve visited the bar staff has recommended some great beers, always bring our dog a water bowl without us even asking, and the owner always checks in with every guest to see if they need anything (different tv channel, more beers, etc.). This place is a true gem!

There were at least 35 beers on tap and the seating area while cognizant of covid, had some very nice nooks. This is a visually aesthetic place to have a great conversation.

The owner is always there, so service is on point. The beer can be pricey, but its boujee micro-brews so thats to be expected. They have a wide selection to chose from so youll definitely find a beer youll like. I havent tried the food, so I cant comment on that. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. I stop in there frequently for 1 or 2 after work for a wind-down, and its always a pleasant experience.Parking is an issue, but that isnt the fault of the business. The lot next door is private and they will tow you. Its sporadically enforced, so you may get away with it for a while. I would recommend you play it safe and park out front on the street or behind the bar in the parking garage. Thats really the only downside I can speak of. Overall this is a great little spot to hang out and grab a nice beer or two.

Nice staff. Great at suggestions for non beer drinkers and drinkers alike. Had a few beers I have trouble finding in NC. Otherwise diverse selection. Warm inviting atmosphere. Owner is super nice!

All covid precautions are taken. The number of beers and ciders (even wine!) on tap is impressive and ever changing. Sarav and Hobie are very knowledgeable mixers. Overall highly recommended.

Made a stop with local friends after the Duke @ Carolina game and Im glad we did! Plenty of drink options and a solid menu. Had the cheeseburger pita and it was spot on! Really impressed with how the owners stopped by our table and socialized with us for a few minutes. Will definitely stop again the next time I head back in town!

Good place. I love the beer selection. It rotates, so you get to try something new each time. The food is tasty, though a little small on the portions. Lots of TVs so you can chill and watch a game.

It was very welcoming and inclusive. The ice cream was phenomenal, great hangout for adults and welcome for kids.

Incredible beer selection both on tap and for bottle/can purchase. What makes it even better is the food menu is definitely more than bar/pub variety. Im always looking for new wings sauces and the sriracha chili bourbon is one of the best Ive tried in a longtime. My wife and I also visited on a Saturday afternoon for a quick beer and lunch while we were running errands in the area. We had a pita and wrap, they were just as great as the wings I had before. Definitely recommend for a happy hour after work, watching a UNC game, or just popping by for lunch/dinner and a drink.

Its like brewery hopping your favorite local breweries but its all in one place. I love how you can request your favorite breweries to be on tap as well as on the packaged beer shelves and the most important part...you dont have to deal with beer snobs as much.

Weve come twice---the second time with a group of young adults visiting from Colorado. They loved the selection of beers and the fun atmosphere. Had great fun playing Uno and Jenga, all the while sampling the selections. Well definitely come back, and bring our guests.

My wife and I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at the casual pint. We loved the beer selection, and both found drinks suited to our different tastes. My wife’s basil pesto flatbread was delicious, and so was my drunken master brat. The pretzel bun was a nice touch! The one thing that brings down the review was the way the manager(?) interacted with his employees. We heard him yell at multiple people, and saw him motion rudely for one of the young ladies to move out of his way when she was behind the bar grabbing a sample for me! We made sure to tell her she was doing a great job, and tipped her a few extra bucks. As someone who knows what it’s like to work in the service industry, I hate to see workers mistreated. I hope this isn’t a regular occurrence, maybe we caught him on a bad day.

Good vibe place.

I wanted the casual pint to be a hit, but if fell short on our first visit. It’s a new establishment, and you expect some teething problems, but 6 staff were just standing around not being that attentive. Beer was pretty good, the cheese (wizz) burger pita wrap was a mess and just doesn’t work. Hopefully things improve.

Basically, the staff there are just hanging around and talking with each other. Its really hard to finally catch the attention of the staff to pay for the check or get some more water. It took forever to finally get the food and they didnt taste so good. Dont recommend!!

This place has good food, the beverage choices are endless (on tap and off the shelf), the staff is hard-working and the manager is attentive. The Casual Pint is WINNING!

Why I like this place, and why I have concerns.First off, I like the idea of this place: Good number of taps, good pub food, solid location, layout, and design. As for the beer, you can only fault them to a point as they are too new to demand a better beer selection from the distributers based on their history as they dont have one in the area - granted, The Casual Pint is a national chain of 13+ beer stores (I dont believe the Chapel Hill location is traveling to pick up regional beer options, something they should consider if they want to stay competitive), but even some of the beer options from the distributors on tap arent on par with what other, more beer focused, locations in town are offering. Did I find I pint that was good, yes... did I know of one or two other places in town with a better selection, yes. Nitpicking a bit, but seeing the likes of AB InBev blended in with true craft breweries was somewhat off-putting.My concerns:To be honest, the food (in combination with their staffing) may be their undoing. To be clear, the one meal I had at the location was good and reasonably priced. But, I think they would have been better off letting in food from the outside. But, in terms of them sticking around in that location, they look to have a staffing problem. Both times Ive visited, there have been 5+ staff members at the store, and Im sure there were others at the location. Whats the concern? Ive seen full blown restaurants with less staff, and many seemed to be somewhat less engaged.Minor Complaints:Its customary to call last call (any reasonable adult will get that they need to finish their pint and leave within 5-10 min. Coming in and saying you need to leave because of the lease arrangements isnt really needed. Just a Hi folks, we just closed, and we appreciate you coming. Just an awkward interaction that a seasoned bar/restaurant person would have avoided.I really dont understand the 2nd floor, when I was last at the location they gave us a menu of food, but no beer menu. I assume you order drinks from the first floor, but I never really understood that process. Eventually, someone did get us a beer, but couldnt provide a menu.Hopefully, this is just the first few months in business jitters as they dial in a better experience and find the right people to make it a success. Ill continue to give them my business.

Range of beers is both solid (IPA, amber, porter, sour, and so on) and interesting (longer aging, barrel aging, including but not limited to flavourings). Staff here enjoy beer and share that enjoyment enthusiastically.

The place was super loud. I cant even hear the people around me talking. The food was really slow as well and the quality cannot compare to any of the places around the Casual Pint. Wont go again.

AVOID this place!!!!! Horrible experience!! The staff doesnt really care and the food was terrible! Found a HAIR in the drink. And the staff didn even apologies. Absolutely DISGUSTING!!!

If you enjoy half filled glasses of over priced drinks then this is the place to go. Otherwise check out locally owned shop like Carolina Brewery which is more knowledgeable about the drink they serve.
