Small shop with plenty of options and a library’s worth of knitting and crochet patterns. The owner is friendly. I asked for a pattern that I had seen but didn’t know the name of. I described how it looked and she knew what I was talking about. She looked and looked through her patterns and when she couldn’t find it (I was there really close to closing time), she told me where I could find it online and gave me search terms to look up. I actually found the pattern I was looking for thanks to her instructions! I’m so grateful! I’ve been looking for this pattern for years! And I only found it thanks to this wonderfully chatty shop owner. Also, I love the yarn I bought there.

Yarns Etc. has a wonderful selection of yarns, talented, supportive staff and class instructors. I love that I am supported so I can grow my independence as a knitter, preparing me to take on projects requiring higher skill level with confidence and at the same time allow me opportunities to ask for assistance when I get stumped. The shop has a friendly at home feeling, while at the same time operates professionally.

The most knowledgeable staff - best selection of yarn and many classes are offered! There are also women who come to knit and share their knitting expertise to those who need a wee nudge through a problem! No better place for those of us who love creating with yarn.Oh - and men come in too!!! After all, they were the first knitters!

This may be the only independently owned yarn store in Chapel Hill/Durham. It was originally in the Whole Foods Shopping Center in Chapel Hill, but moved to the Eastgate area in the strip behind Talbots (along Fordham Blvd). It is small, but it has a lot of beautiful yarn at fair prices. The proprietress is always very knowledgeable and helpful, and it looks to me like a lot of people enjoy coming into to sit and knit with her.

They lost me as a customer today! After calling to see if they had a needle in stock I was told they would call back because they were so busy. I didnt hear back and chanced driving there and found what I needed in a store empty of customers. As I checked out the clerk talked with another employee and never once engaged with me including no thank you for my business etc. I will never go back!Check out Cozy in Durham!

I feel very welcomed when shopping. Finding exactly what I need for my next knitting project is easy because they have a fabulous selection to choose from.

The selection is ok here. Sadly the majority of the time when I have been here looking for something they dont have the quantity needed for the project that Im looking for. The owner also becomes very distracted with personal business, such as phone calls from her boyfriend and then disappears into the back of the store or stands there talking even though you are ready to check out.
