We rented a guitar and amp. Prices were decent, & they had a good selection. When I returned the rental, the lady working there couldnt find the paperwork. It wasnt alphabetized. When she did find the rental agreement, the date on it was Feb 2020, we in fact rented it Feb 2021. She was confused and thought we rented it for over a year. (If so, we wouldve paid the full price for the equipment and would now own it. ) She was also confused about the items that we rented. Anyhow I returned it the day it was due and was charged this morning for another month. She assured me she would go home and put it in the computer, so we wouldnt be charged for another month .Very annoying interaction. I think with some organization and technology this would be a great place. My experience was chaotic. I wont deal with them again.Reply to owner: Im sorry youve had to move 2 times. Im unsure as to what that has to do with me. Your response is equally as unprofessional as the service I received. I never mentioned your age. I never said anything personal or insulting about you, yet you feel it appropriate to do so about me. Im also sorry you feel criticized. I was simply relaying the experience. In regards to the equipment returned, the young man working there corrected you several times that we did in fact return all items. I have the contract. I have a list of everything we rented. I have it signed and dated (BY YOU) that we returned everything in good condition. Youve represented your business with name calling and insulting customers rather than taking constructive action to remedy a negative customer service experience. Best of luck.
Weve had a great experience with this music shop. My son has been taking guitar lessons there for a couple years now. They are friendly and knowledgeable!
I dealt with them. Clay was very rude and very disrespectful to me. His mom was a very nice person. He even made some comments that were very unprofessional and unacceptable. I tried to talk to them and he was very loud and obnoxious. I have witnesses to back me up and I know a few other people who wasn’t to happy about the service.
I took my daughter in to buy a guitar. She was choosing between an electric and acoustic. Clay was amazing. He let us play lots of instruments and was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. This was definitely a local experience with great prices as well. I would recommend Clay and his establishment to anyone. Always great to support local businesses as well.
Really great music shop! I drive all the way from Louisville to buy pedals and accessories for my guitar. Clay, the owner, makes and customizes guitar pedals and he is really awesome at it.This shop is way better than any guitar shop in Louisville.
Excellent Guitar / Luthier work. I walked in there about three months ago with a broken strat, Clay fixed the nut at the top of the neck, set the intonation, filed down frets, etc. It played phenominally afterwards! Then I had him redo my 1972 Reissue Fender Telecaster, but this time we replaced the pickups with Curtis Novak handwounds, new tuning hardware, Glendale saddles, etc. I now have $600 guitar that plays like a $3,000 guitar... it is THAT MUCH of a difference! Now the most recent: We went back to that strat, removed the cheapo active stock pickups that came from the Fender factory and replaced them with Lollar Handwound Strat Pickups. WOW!!!! Once again, a standard Guitar Center cheapo strat that plays like a $2,500 guitar! This guy is GREAT... I HIGHLY recommend him over others in the area. Really knows his electronics and background on the different types of guitars. Oh... and did I mention that he is LESS EXPENSIVE than guitar center or any of those big name stores ! This is for real. Hit me up online if you dont believe it.
I am new to guitars. I went in and Clay showed me several different options in my price range that fit me for what I was looking for in a guitar. He gave me the good and bad about each model I looked at. He went over the different styles, brands and put them in my hands telling me the difference in each from acoustic to electric. I feel he is very knowledgeable in what he is telling you. ( I have checked it out for myself doing research on what he has told me and he is right on every time.) His prices are comparable and offers some services to guitars you buy from him without the up charge (setup, cleaning and adjustments of the guitar). I also signed up for a month of lessons. Clay mixed it up some asking me what I like to play and started teaching me that style along with the fundamentals.
The owner/operator/ manager Clay always goes above and beyond what each individual musician needs.
Great small business with superb customer service!
Knowledgeable friendly service with more than reasonable prices. They can help any musician in need. Clay really knows his way around any instrument, guitars, violin, drums, amps, he can do it all. Hes got my American Strat right now working on it. As a touring and currently gigging musician I highly recommend Crestwood Music Shop
Local music shop that has individualized service. Currently renting a violin and was very helpful in helping student choose. Have had the violin serviced twice and he was very prompt and courteous. It is nice to have a local music store. FYI. Its a little tricky getting to the parking lot depending on which direction of the road your coming in from.
This is a great place to get your kids instruments. Theyre very knowledgeable. Told me that the violin my daughter was gifted with would fall apart soon, and it did! He didnt say told you so just set us up with another violin at a very reasonable price and told us if anything happened to this one he would replace it. This is a smaller, community store that will hopefully be around a long time.
My daughter takes violin lessons at this shop. Her instructor is very knowledgable as well as talented, with many years of experience with the violin. I appreciate that he takes the time to share insights that would not be readily available from a book. I am thankful my daughter has the opportunity to learn from someone of his skill level. It takes a lot of patience for someone of his level and ability to teach a beginner who is young!
I highly recommend Crestwood Music Shop for all your music needs. Our son is in the high school marching band and we recently upgraded his trumpet here. They saved us money and its easy to transfer the agreement we had with another store.
My 8 year old is currently taking ukulele lessons from Tom and looks forward to each visit. Tom is a great teacher and now my son wants to learn how to play more instruments! Prices are reasonable and you can support a small local business at the same time.
Always helpful and friendly. Beautiful quality guitars and very knowledgeable.
I recently started violin lessons with Tom McShane. Never too old to learn a new instrument! The lessons have been extremely helpful and put me on a solid path of progression. I highly recommend the Crestwood Music Shop.
My 7 year old son loves taking lessons here and has learned a lot in such a short time!
Tom is very knowledgable and has a great selection of musical instruments and accessories. He also rents equipment, provides musical lessons and service contracts.
Good Service, very Neighborhood Friendly and helpful for young, beginning musicians.
My son is 15 and in the last 6 months has been taking Mandolin lessons from Tom McShane. He has made it FUN and interesting for Sam, which isnt always easy for a teenager. He has learned alot andTom is a great teacher. Check them out!
