While in Mount Airy, MD our battery died. Shout out to Dre at the Damascus, MD store for great service regarding the battery we just purchased there. Dre was very personable, friendly, and professional. Dre expertly installed the battery at no additional charge. The Advance Auto Parts in Mount Airy, where we stopped first, the woman who waited on us there was somewhat snippy, and refused to install the battery. We said adios to her and headed for our usual Damascus, Advance Auto parts. As usual, outstanding service with a smile. Thanks, Dre, for helping us out.

Austin was very rude to my father and I when we inquired about brake parts. It was very clear that we were the biggest inconvenience for him and he barely spoke to us about our purchase. The other two guys that work there were talking very loudly with each other and using language that I don’t think would be appropriate around customers.Overall, I’m disappointed that this experience has ended any future purchases from this store but it’s not unexpected. This location has gotten worse and worse over the years and I have always felt that my presence there is unwanted and inconvenient for the staff. The tone and demeanor that Austin took with my father and I was rude and disrespectful. We won’t be going back.

Normally I go into stores not expecting much in the way of customer service but this store is IT in terms of good customer service. The first time, this young guy with blondish hair, helped me with what I was looking for and offered to fix it in my car which he did. I met him again and he helped me again.The other time, it was this other tall young guy, who helped me to get the best wiper blades and installed it. I didnt even ask, he offered. Ive had the worst luck with getting a good set of wiper blades but what he recommended was great!Management should pay attention to this store and honor the employees there, theyre simply great!

I stopped by on a whim -- I have a Western Snowplow that needs its hydraulic fluid changed, and had difficulty discovering (in Westerns documentation, web site, and with google searches) exactly what tool I would need to drain out the old fluid. At Advance Auto Parts a salesperson gladly came out to my truck (with the plow attached), examined the drain plug, and after a couple of guesses, found the tool I needed (which cost me very little). This isnt the first time this place has helped me figure out what I need to solve a new problem or confusion. Highly recommended.

Usually very friendly. Sometimes not so much. It all depends on who you talk to. If they look like they don’t wanna be working there, don’t bother. Others will go out of their way to help you score a deal or point you in the right direction.

I spent a half hour as the only customer in this store and not one employee approached me with an offer of help. Two female employees spent most of my time there trash talking another woman. I will not return to this location.

WORST EXPERIANCE9/28/17 in store 6:30pmEarlier today I called the AAP store near my office to check if they had the battery I needed. They checked my year, model (Volvo), engine size, ect... They had the it in and they said they could install it and it would take 30 min. I had to pick up my son from school so I decided to get it at the AAP in Damascus near my home. I went in the store, ask for the battery and to have it installed. He told me that they had it in stock but they didnt install batteries for Volvos. Funny, I purchased a battery for the same car 3 years ago. The guy previously in AAP in Damascus installed it. The AAP Silver spring could install it. Then he said he had the right not to install it. He said, he felt uncomfortable doing it. If that was the case, he could of asked to have another person to install it or said i could come back at another time but NOTHING! The battery was $181. If I was the owner I would firer him. In frustration, I asked for a card or phone number for the store. He said they didnt have any. This person with the piss poor attitude is AUSTIN. I called a half an hour later to speak with a manager (googled the #), Austin answered the phone, I asked to speak with a manager. He said he was the MANAGER. I hope he was NOT telling the truth for the sake of the business. i

Went in there to buy rear brake pads and rotors for my 2000 Camry and the person who sold it to me assured me that they were the right ones (I have never heard someone speak with more confidence than them) long story short they were not the correct brakes and when I attempted to return them I was declined because I did not have my receipt even though they said the could see that i had bought them there in their system, would definitely reccomend you take your business elsewhere because the lack of knowledge and horrible customer service

Well, not like I expected. They had oil, filters and lights, but needed to order most of the brake parts for the two cars I was trying to fix. I went to NAPA. Sorry.
