Always carry top of the line perfumes. I couldnt get Chance by Chanel anywhere. I came to Ultra they had it.

I came into this ULTA to get a hair cut and conditioning treatment and had a great experience! I highly recommend Emilia (Emi)! She was great with my haircut, great at recommending products, and was fun to chat with as well!

Today I was picking something up in store and returning something. I approached the woman behind the counter she helped me with pick up and then made me go back in line a second time to return instead of helping me with both.
Everytime I come into this store security or staff follow me around the store like I am going to steal. At first I thought I was being super sensitive, but I quickly realized I wasn’t. And to add insult to injury the staff is clueless and unfriendly . I am contacting their corporate office and I not going to let this go. This is unacceptable I go to Ulta to pamper myself to lift my spirits and in return I get treated with utter disrespect. P. S. I am a Ulta credit card holder with platinum status. But not for long. I wish I could give minus stars. Also I had to put star to post.

Worst customer service experience thus far! I placed a order online and waited a full day with no email or text message stating my order was ready for pickup. When I placed the order online the website stated the product was in stock at the location I selected. I went to the store the next day and waited over 30 mins for the associate to search for the item just to be told the product wasnt available. I asked if the order could be canceled since its not in stock. I was told in 5 days it would self cancel. So I have to wait 5 days to get my money back. I wasnt offered an apology coupon or anything. The staff is very dry and unwelcoming.....not one smile or hello how are you. Satan could offer better service......DO BETTER!

I learned so much from Patrice today during my makeup lesson. I was just hoping to find a decent foundation for aging skin, but she also advised me on how to keep my skin healthy too—and some great tips for applying makeup on mature skin! She was so patient and kind. I plan on going back for more services from Patrice! Patrice gets five stars. (Four stars is for the overall vibe of the store. Some associates werent that outgoing and friendly.)
Pretty unhappy with my last salon experience. Went to get my hair colored by the top stylist at the Ulta salon, the next several days this permanent color resulted in color all over my hands, arms, neck, clothes, bed...its awful. I tried to reach out to the stylist 2 days after to resolve the issue after explaining what was going on and asking for recommendation to fix the problem the response I got was ok. I followed up with what do you recommend we do and got no response. I typically really enjoy Ulta, but this is pretty disappointing. Ive been looking for other salons to fix the melting color problem, but would like to request a refund from Ulta.UPDATE: Ulta commented on my review with contact information, I reached out about a week ago (with the reference number provided)and have not heard back.
Im giving 3 stars because there were many times where employees asked me if I needed help. But that is where the good service ends. When you go to the counter, no one asks you if you would like to redeem your points. I usually spend a lot when I go and I have only ONCE received a free sample. I always tell myself I will order online next time and still wait until my product runs out. Next time if that happens, I will try the Laurel location.
Most helpful staff I have ever encountered. They went over the closing time to help me get the discount I signed up for. I got a whole load of shampoo and conditioner for an amazing price. Its hard to find people that actually care in retail.

This review is for the Ulta in Columbia MD. I love the chain/store but this one does not have good service. The staff was completely disinterested in helping us on this day. No one approached us not even one time. When we got to the checkout the girl didnt say hello she just said phone number. I didnt really know what I wanted so I ended up with a Clinique product figuring that I was safe with that. But I will not go back to this particular store.
The store was clean and well stocked for the most part however I was in the store for about 45 minutes without a single associate approaching me to see if I needed help. Which I did. I have super red skin and I was looking for a higher end full coverage foundation but I couldnt find anything on my own so I ended up leaving empty handed. The store was not busy and there were at least four ladies on the floor just walking around. With a bit more customer service the store would be a 5 star totally.
I had a hair challenge that would intimidate many stylists. I have lovely silver roots that I wanted to keep as I embrace my grey, but I wanted fun colors to cover the remaining blonde growth that was leftover hair color from a year ago. I also didnt want to use any harsh bleaches on my hair, if at all possible. I wanted to add some fun colors in purple, but nothing too vivid or flat.Taylor, a stylist at Ulta, rose to the occasion! She was very thorough in asking about my needs, if the color in my hair was done at a salon or at-home via a box. I had not colored my hair in over a year. Evidently, different treatment options are used depending on what is already in your hair (who knew??)We talked at length about what I was looking for, brainstormed ideas, and she listened to my ideas to help give me exactly what I wanted.And I couldnt be more thrilled at the results. Taylor is an amazing artist with color! She painted in 4 different colors for a dimensional, multi-tone color experience. Before coloring, she used treatment in my hair to ensure it will remain healthy and undamaged.The entire process took a while, but with what I was asking for I didnt expect it to be done quickly. Taylor stayed late just to ensure that my style was done to my liking, and did not make me feel rushed, even as the registers were closing down for the night.I loved the level of attention, service, and care she gave me and I am going to recommend her to many!
I have been searching for quality cosmetics for my difficult skin for a while.Their staff Liz was very nice to me.Most shop staff were so cold to foreigners that I was sad. Liz worked hard to find cosmetics that fit my difficult skin. She responded equally and helped my shopping. Knowledgeable and wonderful staff.
I learned about the Ulta Brow Bar about 5 years ago. I will never ever get my eyebrows done anywhere else. I have been to several Ulta Beauty stores in multiple cities/states and can definitely say they are all trained the same and I have never had any issues getting the exact style I want.
Enjoy coming here! Never had a problem! The shopping center that it’s located in is always busy though, so be prepared for traffic.
This location is mostly well stocked with products that you are looking for, and the inside of the store is clean as well. My issue with this location are the employees, which are very rude and not helpful. Many of the employees are very selective with who they speak to/ greet upon walking in, and once you are inside it will be over 10-15 minutes before someone comes over and asks if you need help with anything. When you do ask for help they try to rush you, or many times stop in the middle of helping you to assist someone else. Overall, Im considering whether or not to shop at this Ulta or all Ultas in general.
This was my first time visiting this location. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to inquire about a new eyeshadow palette I was interested in purchasing. I was greeted at the door and decided to browse the store to see the new additions before picking up the palette. As I was browsing, I noticed that the shelves were very poorly stocked and the displays were messy and disorganized. Maybe I caught them right before a restock? During my browsing I was never asked if I needed help finding anything. Being put-off by the mess I decided to search for this eyeshadow palette to no avail. After hovering around the immediate area for 10 minutes, I finally found a group of employees standing around chatting and asked if they could check if the palette was in stock. One employee spoke up and asked rudely if I had looked for the palette yet. To which I replied, yes and mentioned that the website shows it as in stock. She didnt skip a beat on informing me that I cant rely on the website and that if I didnt see it then its obviously not in stock; no offer was even made to double check that I hadnt missed it. Needless to say, I will be going back to my usual Ulta in Gambrills in the future.
I like shopping at Ulta but staff at this location sucks! Really disinterested in helping customers and rude. More interested in discussing what happened at the club last night. I don’t recommend this location.
Pretty standard Ulta store, but I will say that they stay well-stocked and keep sale prices in line with what’s offered online and on the app, which I appreciate. The sales staff can be a little overwhelming, but if you need help, they have an abundance of advice.

They need receptionists. Every time I call I am on hold forever and usually just hang up. When I am getting services the phone rings non stop and they expect my stylist to stop doing my brows or hair and pick it up. The girls who work their are awesome but ULTA itself has this flaw in their staffing.

My eyebrows have never looked better! Janina at the salon is literally a miracle worker. Ive been going to her since I moved to MD, just about two years ago. It is pricey, at $21 a wax is definitely higher than Ive ever paid, but to me it is so worth it. She is very precise and spends a lot of time making sure my brows are perfect!
This place is such a hit or miss. I go here alot since it’s close to my work. I had some good experiences too but mostly girls on the counter are always in a rush and pretty rude. And if you show them giftcards or coupons they only have 1 answer sorry this is not applicable on prestigious items!!! Babe atleast look or read the coupons first. I was rejected by them and then tried the same coupon online at home and it was applicable on everything. They are impolite and only talks or helps who they want too. This location manager needs to tech them some basics on customer service.
Best experience in an Ulta, ever. The ladies at the counter expertly handled a stressful situation with Ulta corporate for me and made me smile. They were patient and friendly even after closing time.
I would give it a higher rating if it had more mens products & at reasonable competitive prices!

I will never go to this Ulta again, did curbside pickup, followed the directions and called the store, both employees were outside looked at my car and went right past my car didn’t ask me if needed help, the line was busy so I couldn’t get through and I had to end up asking is anybody going to ask me if i need help, never again, this location is the worse Ulta to me anyway!
Great place & always end up leaving with more than I need! Only downside is that they dont always have the more popular products stocked.

I had a question that 2 separate employees could not answer when comparing products, and it seemed I was bothering them so I had to Google it. I ended up finding the flat iron at Bed, Bath and Beyond as well as JCPennys almost $40 cheaper so when I asked if they price matched she laughed and said no. I would just go there seriously?

Courtnie a Clinique rep is awesome and gets 5 stars! Great advice on questions my daughter & I asked that addressed underlying skin care not just focused on providing options to achieve a certain look. Also gave suggestions about less costly product alternatives. Unfortunately gave 3 stars overall due to other associates congregating/ talking to one another and not assisting customers . Also one associate who must have come in shopping for herself but removed buy one get one 50% signs from a face mask display rudely as we were looking at them without saying why and stepping in front of us to do so ...
I just want to run in and look at a blow-dryer ... and we never left. I am now a ghost, having lived the rest of my natural life inside Ulta waiting for my wife to leave. Prices seem very high to me, but Im a ghost now, so I dont plan on making any purchases here.

Their coupons do not work on makeup brands, which is basically over half the store. The manager was very rude, and denied my birthday reward despite it being my birthday and that I am a part of their ulta rewards club. At least they always have items in stock.

It will be a long long time before I consider shopping in the Columbia Gateway store AGAIN! Always, always, at lunch time when the store is so busy, 1 person is running the register. Other associates walking around doing NOTHING and the line today was at least 10 people deep. I dropped my bag and walked out. This isnt the first time this has happened, it happens all the time. Your associates need to learn how to prepare for the lunch crowd and learn to schedule appropriately. They are also always low or out of products! Im only giving 1 star because I had to before posting.

Great product selection, horrible customer service. I walked around the store looking for items without any offers of assistance, while no less than 5 employees stood together talking to each other. The final insult occurred while I was looking for a Tarte concealer match, 2 sales people in the employee gaggle asked other customers if they needed assistance. I was close enough to shake hands. Unfortunately this has occurred at least three other times at the Columbia location. I will stick to Ulta online or Sephora.

Was in this store recently to pick up a couple of items and they were out of one item which is very typical of this store in Columbia. Their answer is usually, We have a truck coming in this week. I have heard that from them numerous times. Since they were out of the item, the cashier said she could give me a free shipping form to go online to make the purchase. After looking for this form for a couple of minutes she had the manager come up who couldnt find the form either. The manager then told me to call customer service and they would give me a free shipping code. So....I called customer service this morning who told me that the store is the only place who can give the free shipping code or form (not sure which he said), he said that they dont provide that service from calling Ulta customer service. So, in a nutshell, I dont have the product and I dont have the free shipping that the manager told me I could get from calling customer service. I think Ill check out the new beauty supply store over off of McGaw Ct. Maybe they will have a stocked store and the people at the front end will give solid information.

Skip it and go to Sephora.They have a huge selection of products, and most items are almost always in stock, but the sales associates arent incredibly helpful. They tend to stay in their zones and talk with each other. Its super hit or miss if you ask them a question - they may not know anything and may be fairly unfriendly. The security guard is a little overbearing and kind of creepy.
The Columbia ulta is okay. you either get an amazing sales associate or one that looks annoyed that you even talked to them. I prefer to drive to the silver spring location where I get amazing customer service all the time.

I made an appt to get formal make up done for 3pm on saturday december 8th. 3pm i was there in the chair getting my faced tuned and it was smooth sailing. fast foward to the big holiday party at 6pm. my left eye was on fire for the whole mingling/drinks portion. by 8pm i peeled my falsies OFF at the dinner table because i wanted to scratch my eyes out. by 12 midnight i had developed a NASTY painful stye in the corner of my left eye. disgusting. it hurts. its swollen. this morning 15 minutes ago after opening i called ulta to speak with a manager. I was given a matter of fact/protect the company response from the manager who got put on the phone. she started out very defensive. i was told i got an allergic reaction to the lashes/lash glue!!. i wear lashes and this has never happened i told her. her only response was i got an allergic reaction because of the lashes. repeated same information to me. no empathy. nothing. i stated i wear lashes and a stye is from infection from a clogged/infected duct from BACTERIA. she went into the whole our brushes are super clean spiel but um....i didnt see anyone clean the palettes that were used on me! i remember when we were done and she said let me go run these back. i never saw her clean them and im positive thats how i got this angry lil eye infection. thanks so much for being defensive and accusatory on the phone. i got blamed for my issue in a backhanded way. they sell/push these lashes on you for your look to be completed however it has basically ruined my experience and my whole look and evening.

I had made a brow appointment and immediately was called back to reschedule to the next day. I came in the next day and my appointment was cancelled without informing me. It was a waste of my trip and the manager I spoke with was defensive and not interested in helping her customers.
Decided to swing by ULTA this past Saturday since I was in the area and needed some new BB or CC cream. On the weekends I dont really feel like wearing makeup or doing my hair, so I was wearing a hat & zero makeup. I always hear the horror stories about ULTA and Sephora employees not helping customers when they arent done up. WELL, I experienced that first hand this weekend! I wandered the makeup isle aimlessly trying to figure out what brands had what. I watched the girls APPROACH CUSTOMERS that had their hair and makeup done and ask if they needed help. Not ONCE did anyone ask if I needed anything. Yes, I could have asked for assistance but the fact that any other time I have been in there with at least my makeup done, someone has helped me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.After ULTA screwing up my rewards & now this, Im kind of done with them.

Rude staff and security! Dont bother asking what time they close due to holiday hours because theyre too annoyed to answer without mocking. Just keep shopping and make them stay a bit late, probably will get the same attitude so no difference!
Im not a thief and I dont feel comfortable staying in a store trying to browse hundreds of products, while being monitored the whole time. I havent been in Ulta in a while, and I wont be returning. Next time Ill shop online, or go somewhere else. I dont remember them having security when they first opened this location.

So, Ulta is Ulta. The products dont vary. This employers at this place would rather stand around and chat than help customers. One cashier with 8 people in line and 8 employees roaming the store, and standing around talking. On top of that, they arent too knowledgable about what products they carry. Too bad this is the only Ulta game in town.

The employees here gave me so much attitude when I was trying to exchange the eyeshadow palettes that came all broken when I ordered online. Their eyes were following me around and whispering to each other which was really unprofessional.

Plenty of products! I could spend an hour just brousing the selection. The beauty consultants are very helpful in answering questions. BUT the reason I am giving ulta located in columbia md (gateway overlook) only 2 stars...THE SECURITY. MORE specifically the younger african american (20-30s) male security guard. I spend a few hundred dollars at ulta every few months, so I visit this location frequently. I noticed that I am constantly being monitored by this particular security guard. This is a big store! so to have security passing you in the same isle every 3 min is very suspicious. I pointed this out to my coworkers and fiance and unfortunately they feel the same way when they shop at this location. I am confident that people of color are being watched with an eagle eye when shopping. This particular security gaurd listening to music on his headphones asked me if I needed help while I was shopping for mascara...im sorry I didnt realize he was a beauty consultant, and this was a not so clever attempt to mask his following me in the store. I am an african american female, licensed medical professional, and in no way shape or form should feel uncomfortable while shopping. In summary the very next time I walk in I will be taking note/ recording my experience and reaching out to HQ.

I really Love Ulta because of the variety of both affordable and higher end makeup. However, this was not the 1st time I had been in there were I was only greeted at the door as I guess it is easy for them to yellnat you as you walk in. On this evening, Tuesday, they clustered and talked about their Hangryness and how someone better direct them to Royal Farms so they could eat? Anyway, as you enter the door, the girls who congregate at the register yell Welcome to Ulta. But ill be damned if I didnt walk the store looking for an employee to help color match match me with a new foundation that just launched and I couldnt find anyone with a nametag for 45 min! When i finally got one of the girls to leave a register she was just holding up, she said they were about to close and it would need best to come back the next day? Really, NP, Ill just go to Sephora to be color matched next time and order online if I want something from Ulta.
I went to inquire about the salon and two women were working. One looked at me and glared, that was the only acknowledgement I received. I work customer service also, so I will give you a break if your having a bad day. But she just didnt want to talk to me, so I just left.
