I have to write this review because Trailhead Bicycles is without a doubt the best bike shop I have ever gone to and that’s the reason why Ive ONLY gone there for the past couple years. They are absolute experts on anything bikes and will set you up with the perfect bike every time. Theyre nice, they’re friendly, and they treat you like family. Ive bought three bikes that were quite the investment (new mountain bike today actually) and I would never spend this type of money anywhere else. There are a lot of great bike stores in St Louis but this one may be the best. They know well both road and mountain bikes which is a huge plus! Ive bought bikes and accessories and always have a great experience. You wont find better service. If your looking for a bike shop you can count on look no further. I highly recommend!

I was looking to buy a road bike and chose these guys because of how awesome they are. Ive been in there six different times now, and interacted with four different people. Each and every person has been incredible. Theyre helpful and wont talk down to you when you ask noob questions. Theyre extremely nice and very considerate, oh, and they follow through on everything they say, without having to be asked. Trailhead has good customer service. I dropped by to look for a bike during a pandemic. They only had bikes over $4500, which was too high for me. Despite that, they were very helpful.

I just recently got into mountain biking a few months ago and needed to buy a bike. At the start of this process I knew nothing about mountain bikes. I educated myself by going to nearly every bike shop in the St. Louis area in order to get everyones opinions and see multiple bike brands and price points. I have to say we have some great shops in St. Louis, but the staff at both locations (Trailhead and Trailhead Mesa) made me feel at home and humble to ask novice questions. I have to give a big shout out to Emily, Traci and Patrick as I interrogated them every time I walked into their stores. Customer service by these individuals is what sets them apart from other St. Louis shops. In the end, not only did I buy myself a Santa Cruz Tallboy, but I also bought my kids Specialized bikes for Christmas. Customer for life!

I was greeted by several friendly staff all where busy with customers - it was nicely busy. My son and I were space by a very helpful and friendly staff member who helped us find the exact g we were looking for in a color pleasing to my son. Very, very pleasant environment. I was surprised by the number of bicycles on the floor, which is a larger selection than what Ive seen at many area bike shops. Ill definitely be back. High end shops of any type can be daunting to walk into but this is not one of those shops. Yes, they have everything, but they have it at every price point as well. I am not a cyclist, just wanted a good bike that I can use to go on rides with my son and take on some trails. The shop owner showed me all kinds of stuff, explained how the bikes were different, and in the end (going well beyond normal expectations) she got me in the right bike at the right price point for me. This is how you earn lifelong customers. Wow.

We got a bike for our son since we promised him one and theyre sold out everywhere. Emilie emailed right away confirming my order. Soon after she emailed that there was a hiccup with a car bije rack that I ordered. I ended up getting a more expensive one, but a 10% discount for my trouble. Recieved what I needed. When I realized that I forgot training wheels, she practically met me at the door with the special wheels that the bike needed. Then when there was a double charge issue due to the bike rack confusion (forgot to refund for the rack I didnt get). She fixed that and made sure that I got that 10% discount as well. Zero headaches. I will definitely go back if I need anything!

The owners, Mike and Emilie, are supremely knowledgeable, patient, relatable, not pushy, keep a well-stocked store and are clearly passionate about cycling. Harrison also did a great job finding the perfect bike for my budget and my needs and fitting me on the trainer. In this day and age of big box stores and on-line shopping options, I implore anyone reading this review who is in the market for cycling gear to go to Trailhead. The experience and feeling that you are truly a valued customer is invaluable. Also, I havent even mentioned this, but their prices are more than fair and competitive. An outstanding shop, they only sell top brands which is great but can make choosing one bike tough. So they let me ride 5 different trail bikes back to back so I could compare the suspensions and ride quality. Zero pressure, tons of insightful info. Set up and fit was spot on - just great folks!

I couldnt be more impressed with Trailhead Bicycles, particularly the low-key, helpful, and welcoming style. Im a life-long fitness biker but not a superfit triathlon dude or a bike geek who wants to talk pro and cons of components. I often am condescended to or dismissed at bike stores. What a huge relief it was to be taken seriously, given helpful information, and talked to at a level of detail that matched my interest. Great Shop and people!

We went in looking for first bikes for our kids. Emilie, one of the owners, took the time to explain everything to us: the advantages of a balance bike vs. training wheels, options for turning regular bikes into balance bikes (removing pedals), getting the correct fit for a bike, making sure that the child will be able to ride it for a while before growing out of it, etc. She was very knowledgeable and patient with all of our questions, and had the kids try several different bikes to make sure they got the right size and style. She also fitted the kids for helmets. Once wed made all our selections, she had to order one of the bikes, but it arrived within a few days. The other one needed a few modifications, as well. When we went back 4 days later, the bikes were ready to go, and she had the kids try them out again before taking them home. It was a wonderful experience, and we left feeling confident that we had made the right decisions.This store also has a great trade-in program on kids bikes, offering credit toward new ones when the kids grow out of them. We will definitely be repeat customers when the time comes!PS: Emilie was 100% correct in recommending balance bikes. The kids learned very fast!

Mike and emily are the owners. Emily is one of the most cheerful people I have ever met. Mike is one of the most knowledge people I have ever met. Together they run a really great place. They are always willing to spend as much time as needed to help you out with whatever it is you are needing. The place looks great, very clean, great location and good selection. They allow you to rent bikes to test them (not all bikes, just some). Really really great place. Well worth your business.

Have been mtn biking for 25 years, with many different experiences at bike shops all around the country. Over the last few years I’ve purchased and built multiple bikes from Trailhead, and I have to give them a shoutout because their owners and employees are some of the most knowledgeable, helpful, patient and unassuming “serious riders” I have met.They know their stuff. They’re honest with their advice. And have no ego or arrogance about their craft. Just a great attitude with great service.I hope their stores continue to have great success as the mtn bike scene grows and improves in St. Louis. I’d recommend them 100%.

Excellent customer service. Mike recognized a problem with my bike that I thought had been fixed by someone else earlier that week. Looking a little deeper, Mike found the real issue and went the extra mile, quickly completing the repair while I waited. Two thumbs up!

They definitely carry great brands, including the rare Rocky Mountain bikes, but the customer service is exceptional. I felt like they really cared about finding ME a bike and spent a bunch of time talking me through the specs and styles. This is a husband and wife owned bike shop that feels personal, honest, and local. Sure, Id rather the location be closer to me, in the city, but it is at least on the way to the trails. I am new to this shop but its been great so far. They did a gold package service of my older Roubaix, replaced the chain, and the tires. Afterward, it turned out the cassette really needed replacing too. When I took it back they only charged me for the new cassette, and no labor. They also did right there and then. You cant beat that kind of service after the sale. Thanks TH.

Mike and Emily make you feel welcome and glad you visited Trailhead Bicycles. I am a commuter and with my bike in rough shape and out of luck, I decided to go ask for help at Trailhead. Mike was gracious and extremely accommodative with his time, repairing my bike so I could get back on the road right away. Not only this, he even took the time to show me what he was doing so I could learn. It was a pleasure to hang around the shop during the service repairs testing the different new bicycles.The raddest part was seeing a grandmother with her little (approx. 4 yr old) grandson purchasing his first bike. The passion was in the air!

I came in looking for a road bike, and the female worker was very helpful. I was on a tight budget but she let me test ride a similar bike out of my price range. I count decide between a single speed or the Shimano Claris set. So she the let me test ride a similar fixed gear bike. The bike I could afford wasnt at the store but she told me they had it at their other location. He name is Emilie and she is the/an owner. I ended up getting the bike at Mesa Cycles.

Their love of cycling is apparent from the moment they walk in the door, and what sold me was how informative they were without any of the sometime snobbish feel other stores can dish out!Keep it up yall!!

I bought a new bike from Trailhead a couple of months ago and have been enjoying it since. Mike had mentioned it earlier, but recently convinced me to get a pro fit. Along with asking what my expectations were (more aero, max power and comfort) and if I had any riding complaints (pain, numbness, etc.), he checked everything from leg and foot biomechanics (shoe fit and cleat and pedal placement) to my flexibility (saddle/stem height/fore/aft position). I was amazed at the difference it made. Its like I got a new, new bike!And that hasnt been the end of the revelation. I have had lower back pain for years. It could be aggravated by a day of yardwork, but a base pain greeted me every morning until I warmed up. Knock-on-wood, since I had the pro fit, I have not had back pain. It seems, and I hope, that we inadvertently found the cause of the pain.Get a fit and get fit!
