This place is amazing! The servers are very kind and patient. Food is amazing! I was only in the area for 2 days and had to go twice. We went for dessert one night and then for lunch the next day. Next time I gotta try their patio dining, it looks beautiful in there! The place is MUCH BIGGER than it looks!
Very nice and spacious patio, which can accommodate large groups of people. Very nice and friendly stuff. However, the food, to my taste simply is not that good. Yes it is fresh and well prepared, it is just old school Italian food. I mean that pasta is overcooked and plain. This is simply not my favorite.
Had a wonderful time for my mother’s 65th birthday. Was recommended by co-workers that have lived on Long Island for many years. Made a reservation for a group of 8 for the patio area, I was impressed with the decor and massive space. Service was a little slow but got better once we ordered appetizer’s. The menu has many options. The food was very good and flavorful. I had the porterhouse steak that came with a homemade steak sauce! Family had different pasta dishes that tasted very good as well especially the gravy. Also had their fried zucchini and AMAZING Crab cakes. Overall food was top notch across the board. Unfortunately I forgot to order the fried capellini but definitely will next time. Towards the end owner came over and checked that everything was good; wished my mother happy bday and to my surprise came out with a big Polaroid camera to take a photo of us which I was very happy about. At the the end the owner and Waiters sang happy bday which made my mother feel special and appreciated also the waiters were quite funny & of course courteous. Im usually very easy to please..just look at my reviews...but the Outside room was very noisy..service was very slow..after the drinks and bread were dropped off..the waiter didnt come over again to take our order for over 30 minutes. we watched him cut a birthday cake for 20 minutes 🤣..nice guy.. very professional. food was good..but not a good dinning experience ..so based on that and their not exactly giving the food away🦞🍕🍷🍮💰💰.they go from 5 stars to 2 stars
I honestly dont have much pictures cause I was in aww and truly taking in the beautiful splace.Our boss took us out for lunch and we were seated in the patio area. The space was bright with high ceilings and many windows. As you entered the space the right side seemed to be at least 4 garage door like for walls so I can image in the summer time when they have the garage doors open it would be amazing.It was definitely huge, and spacious for the 18 coworkers that came for the luncheon.Staff and waiters were very nice and accommodating.Definitely will have to visit again on my own dime.
Dinner last evening in the Patio area, having been a regular customer and one that has had parties at this location, I have to say last evening was really a disappointment.First off, it appeared obvious that the staffing levels were not what they should be. After sitting for more than 20 minutes with no service, our server who was working almost the entire room with some tables having 15-20 guests simply took our order, never saw him again till I paid the check, the food we ordered Two Veal dishes arrived and were just barely warm, the pricing of these meals were not worth the money. Just had dinner in their new patio area which is beautiful. Santos was our server. He was amazing!!!! Hes very friendly and made great suggestions on what to order. The bus boys are very attentive. Plates were cleared in a timely fashion and we were never left without water.The food speaks for itself. We cleared EVERY dish we had. There were 3 of us. We split 2 appetizers, each of us had our own dinners and we shared a dessert. Portions are very generous. Theres nothing I wouldnt recommend. Even the table side wine service is impeccable.
I was going to be in the neighborhood and had a friend meet me at King Umbertos for a early dinner. 🍝They have indoor and outdoor dining. Parking is across the street. 🚗 The wait staff is knowledgeable and extremely friendly.The garlic bread and rolls were warm and irresistible. My friend had the chicken francese and I had rigatoni vodka with grilled chicken. Every bite was so delicious. 🍝Then if all of that wasnt enough we indulged in dessert. The brownie sundae a- la-mode 🍩and a tiramisu. 🍧 Yes if you notice this is my go to dessert at italian restaurants.I hadnt been to King Umbertos in awhile and I cant wait to go back again!!😊
Was there as part of a surprise party. About 60 of us. The service was exceptional and the food even better. Wish it was closer to us in New Jersey.
I really wanted to have a great experience. The decor is very pretty and cozy. I understand covid has put a strain on restaurants, cost staff shortage. Charging customers 3 times higher than you use to, is insane. $27/$30 a dish from $15. This restaurant is crowded. Not for the overly price dishes. But for the pizza and drinks. Yes, this restaurant is not the same it was year ago. Its extremely loud. My party of 8 couldnt hear each other. Pasta was not cooked enough, dishes was overly drenched in sauces., with small portions. I hope it will go back to Its glory that it once was.
Food was delicious, I ordered the salmon pasta it came with shrimp and scallops.Big portion and i loved it. For dessert I had the cheese cake. We order a rose wine. Service was great. Atmosphere is beautiful 😍 ❤. Thank you !
Best pizza around! Definitely best grandma slice on long island. They have innovative items like the bad and boujee, featuring mikes hot honey. And seasonal slices too. You cant order delivery, but theres plenty of parking across the street and during the day to grab your order. The place is really clean and modern too.
Exceptional from start to finish! Cant say enough good things, from the waiters, busboy anticipating every need,( i.e.,water bread) to the quality of the food, just exceptional all around! I cannot believe I have not been here in years! Beautiful patio seating as well. Sorry no pics, but Ill be going again real soon and will snap many!

Food Was great. Service was SLOW. We were there for a total of 3 hours. Not because the food was slow come to the table, not because they didnt seated us close to our reservation time. But because THE WAITER NEVER CAME AROUND. If I didnt tell the guy to take our entree order WHEN THEY DELIVERED the appetizers, we would have been there for ANOTHER hour. Not sure Id go back for a 3 hour dinner again.
There arent any specialty slices that I dont recommended. Dinners are fantastic. This place is a must visit! Prices are a little high but, its worth it.

I heard a lot about this place, and it’s all true.It’s one of the best vodka slices i’ve had.But what stood out was the service, just enough staff unlike many other busy restaurants, everyone was helpful and when i left i was thanked by everyone like 10 times, these guys mean business. If they keep going like this i would not be surprised to see them still in business for another 100 years.Highly recommend it

The Chicken marsala slice is divine!! Love love the service here ..salads, entrees, seafood, drinks...literally cant go wrong on the menu! The vibe and decor will make you come back month after month.
Oh mama the grandma! Stopped in on our way back home because I had heard great things. A guy named Jake was working the door and could not have been nicer. Not only is the food great but you can tell these people are super passionate about what they do. The hospitality is off the charts. I wish I lived in the area, Id be in here 3-4 days a week. Definitely try the metro, the grandma and the fried capellini. Unbelievable place, will definitely be back!

The food was delicious, its beautiful inside the Patio. Just bring a sweater or light jacket, the A/C was blowing on us. We went there last week July 1 for my birthday.

Been going for years. Always great food and service. However, a recent take-out order was disappointing. The tortolini soup had so much salt it was like someone sabotaged it. Had to throw out the broth. The lasagna was very salty too. Must be new kitchen help. I may return. Not sure.
King Umbertos probably some of the best Italian food Ive ever eaten and Ive eaten at a lot of Italian restaurants . From the person who greet you at the door to the last person that will help you in the restaurant serving you service is impeccable they treat you like royalty the food is phenomenal the reason why we spend so much money is because it was our anniversary and we got a lot of appetizers and a lot of drinks but the food is very reasonable if you really want to try some great food and great service go to King Umbertos you cant go wrong

I do not, for the life of me, understand all those 5 star reviews. Red sauce on my overcooked pasta was watery and tasteless, kind of like what you get at a catering hall. I ordered the chicken Angela, everything was bland and oily and the broccoli rabe was cooked within an inch of its life . My husbands chicken parm was about the same. The service was so slow and our waiter seemed perpetually confused. First time is the last for sure!
Was delicious! Traveled 40 mins amidst a snow storm and was well worth the trip ! #onebiteeveryoneknowstherulesGot a regular pie my girl and I thought it was excellent! 8.1 to be exact! And we had a penne slice grandma and metro all banging! We gave the rest of the pie to a homeless woman walking past as well, hope she enjoyed as much as we did! Great food and service!
Went on a family outing for this one. King Umbertos was recommended to me by a friend. It absolutely did not disappoint. Plenty of space between tables in the patio area, great sevice, phenomenal atmosphere, and reasonably priced.I want to make a trip back and try the pizza parlor side of things. Definitely worth a visit.

Great food! Decent service in outdoor area. Just two issues. First, chairs are not comfortable. They are those flimsy ones used at wedding receptions. Second, they may have another bathroom, but one has to wait what seems to be an incredibly long time to use the one bathroom which is in the middle of the dining area so proximate to tables.

It was a very long for the food to be served, being seated in the new patio area, however, the eggplant Parm tasted good after they added some cheese to it. I ordered takeout for Veal Marsala yesterday and the chicken was tender but the gravy and chicken had no flavor at all. Im not sure I would return--there are a lot of other restaurants to try. Oh, and Im not really comfortable that out of all the people behind the counter, not one was wearing their mask correctly. Only two people had it on, wearing it around their chin. I believe that chefs and employees that prepare food should still be wearing masks even if they are vacinated.
Pleasantly surprised with the patio room. Was there for a party. The food was terrific. Highly recommend the fried capellini - creamy on the inside and crisp on the outside without being oily. Good standard Italian appetizers - stuffed clams, caprese salad, fried calamari. The same sauce for the capellini and calamari was a little weak, but tasty. Nice house salad. I requested the sole oreganata but it was overcooked and dry. I switched it out for a pork chop capestrano which was perfectly cooked and well balanced with the prosciutto, mushroom and cheese. The outdoor area was not open but liked amazing. Would definitely go back.
Is there a better pizza in Queens? That’s a real question. Anybody? We don’t know if one. And it’s also a very good restaurant with a gourmet Italian menu, great cooks and waiters. The new addition is the patio next door that’s an absolutely gorgeous dining room.
The pizza is not all that good. I’d rather go to ginos for food. But the inside is nice
King Umberto was completely satisfying! From the interesting exterior to the comfortable, classic feeling, yet modern, interior the place feels like quality. We were greeted at the door and were made to feel welcome. The service was friendly and accommodating. The food was fresh and flavorful with satisfying portion sizes. I am glad I tried King Umberto and will definitely return when Im in their neck of the woods again.

(This review is solely for the pizza I bought/had) the sauce on their regular slice is way too salty, I bought a pie and everyone else agreed, so I know it wasn’t my taste buds. Cut back on that salt when your making your sauce guys! aside from that the slice was decent, about a 6 out of ten in all other areas except the sauce of course! The sauce gets a 3 out of 10.
My family love their pizza and so did I. I order sone on my son birthday. It was fresh n staff was nice.
The best. My family and I have been going to King Umbertos for years and it is still our favorite to this day, everyone is friendly and great service. Whether take out or dining in, we highly recommend it.

I had such a lovely dinner at King Umbertos tonight. The staff and waiters were fabulous. Especially Rosario. The outdoor extension and patio is a great addition with beautiful decor and soon al fresco dining and drinks. I cant wait to return!
Food and service was very good. Location was easy to get to the parking was not to easy. But only had to walk around the block. The prices were higher then pre-pandemic but was a quality meal.

My 2nd time this week. I stopped by Tuesday for lunch with my son visiting from Ca. He missed his NY pizza. My son and DIL ordered 4 different slices and each was fantastic., we also ordered the fried capellini, Cesar salad and calamari. The calamari was fresh but could use a little more salt.Today I took my younger son for the fried capellini, again it was great. We also ordered stuffed clams (good but a little on the small side) a tossed salad and the calamari again ( could still use a little salt, we just used more marinara sauce).Go for the pizza and the fried capellini.
Food was good my only issue was that in the patio area there is only 1 bathroom for everyone. Which was an issue
