I dont understand the extreme hate. Sure, are they flawed - Yes. The doctors are more professional. Id give it 4 stars but the people that arent the doctors are rude like the other reviews state.
Melody and the Dr Bervely are very rude and unprofessional the Dr hang up on me because I didn’t have my insurance inf
Very disrespectful and not friendly! Customer service has to be taught so they will learn to help a customer out. They just watched me stand there and neither did they offer me help or ask what I needed. I had to go to customer service and get a manager for help. I would not recommend coming to them at all not even for your kids. They make people feel very upset after a trip there!
I had an appointment this morning to pick-up glasses and when I got there, there was a Caucasian gentleman and a lady in front of us. They let both of them in and left us standing there for almost 20 minutes. Then finally after trying to get someone attention, someone finally attended to my son & I. The gentleman in front of us was picking up glasses and they sat him down and let him try on his glasses. But when it comes to my son & I, they got the glasses and we had to try them on outside the vision center where we stood for 25 minutes at that point. The Dr are wonderful there but the people working in the front are the problem! Im a man of color and I know they treated my son and I this way became of the color of our skin. So if youre a person of color be sure you will get treated the same way!
Currently seeking another eye center after using this one for several years, as they have mismanaged my appointments twice now to the point where my insurance was affected. I get one visit a year, paid, and they somehow have managed to mess up the follow up exam scheduling on multiple occasions. Dr. Plowmaker is the best in the business, hence the reason Ive stayed with them. But the scheduling department leaves a lot to be desired. I wont say, dont go here, but I will say, confirm your appointments frequently.
Wow the review above is so not accurate, I’ve been following Sherry around for years from Walmart to Walmart . She is always professional and very knowledgeable about the products . Always has professional appearance/ attitude and smiling all the time, I wouldn’t go any where else .So sad someone would write such a bad review on someone like her. Sounds to me like a personal attack ..just sayin
I was here this morning to get a pair of glasses. I walked in not 1 person looked up at me or made eye contact. Started trying on frames and began looking at my phone to see how long it would take. After 15 minutes I left with not one person working there saying a single word to me. Ill just get my glasses at my own eye Dr. They may be more expensive but absolutely more helpful!
The staff there are beyond rude! Not helpful at all! The lady there flat out agrued with me! I didnt even get my contacts so have to wait to see for another week!
DO NOT go here. I took my grandmother here for an eye exam. Ended up paying $250 that day. Which to me is awfully high. She then received a bill in the mail for $165.00. When I called to find out why, the employee that I spoke to said she should have read the fine print. The fine print on what, I have no idea. She was very rude and did not want to help. If there was some type of fine print on a document, What kind of practice gives an 80 year old woman who cannot see something in fine print? Reporting this practice to the office of aging.
Rude, didnt seem to understand simple questions when trying to make an appointment. Took much longer than necessary. Gave out false information.
About 2 weeks ago i went in to speak to someone about glasses i had purchased but could not see out of them. The girl i started talking to got her manager, Sherri. Sherry was EXTREMELY RUDE, and a very unprofessional demeanor and attire. I actually thought she was a customer when i first walked in. She tried to tell me that with bifocals you have no peripheral vision and i needed to adjust. Really? I have been wearing bifocals for years and that is not true. The glasses i was there to have repaired only allowed my to see straight ahead. Any slight eye movement was blurred and made me nauseous. These were my spare pair so i didn’t wear them often and when i did it made me sick and i had to change pairs. My main pair were also purchased there at the same time and i can see perfectly. Sherri then tried to adjust the arms of my glasses wide enough to fit an elephants head and said that would help. Again, really? She had no clue about vision and should not be working in this field. She said i should get an exam to check and make sure it wasn’t me. “Look again Sherri, you incompetent woman, i just had one when i got these glasses. After that she told me that she would send my lenses out to be remade and then would be ready in a week. 10 days later i called and was told i couldn’t have any info until they talked to Sherri the next day. Then the next day they called and said they were ready. So i went in to get them. Was greeted by mark and my glasses were retrieved. They were exactly the same. She never sent them out. Sherri was going to try to pass off that she had actually gotten new lenses but actually was fraudulent and lied about it. Mark was wonderful and very knowledgeable about vision. He took measurements and doubled checked them against my good ones. Mark discovered a 7mm difference between the bifocal line and is really going to send the out to be remade. I have been buying mine and my kids glasses at Walmart for years and this is the first bad experience. All the other staff, with the exception of Sherri, are helpful, considerate and have professional appearances. I am confident my glasses will be fixed correctly now that Sherri is not involved. I have told everyone i know to not go to that vision center if Sherri is there. I gave everyone her untidy, unprofessional description. She is completely untrained and should be glad that i was smart enough to not drive wearing the glasses that she tried to convince me were fine. Had i had a car accident as a result of bad vision they those glasses, this would be a much more serious discussion with my attorney. I would hope that walmart would reevaluate the skill, professionalism, and customer first impressions of its employees that are being trusted to perform healthcare related services. If i had never used Walmart vision before and Sherri was my first impression i would have gone elsewhere. on a positive note... if you are lucky enough to get Mark to help you he is awesome! He is skilled, professional and genuinely dedicated to helping the customer. So my advice to everyone who reads this- if you go to Walmart In ephrata for glasses. Ask for Sherri. If she comes to you, just run out and go elsewhere. NEVER LET SHERRI HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOUR VISION!!’
Sherry was too busy looking up houses for sale on her Walmart business desktop to even see if I wanted help then when I asked forvsfor help, Sonya helped me and she was less than pleasant, after this Ill go somewhere else.
By far the best vision center I have been to. This isnt just a vision center owned by Walmart it is an actual doctors office. Dr plowmaker is an amazing optometrist. The staff is also has a great knowledge of what they are doing. One downside is some of the staff are kinda rude. Like the woman with the glasses and auburn hair in a pony tail. She has no customer service skill what so ever. And the older blonde with a short hair cut shes very pushy when it comes to selling glasses trying to give you the most expensive lenses. I strongly encourage the manager to focus more on making sure her employees are doing whats best for their customers.
I have been going here for years but finally had enough of their incompetence. I walked out of todays appointment and will not be returning. The opticians are not experienced, the line to check in is around the corner, appointments take several hours and there is no consistency from one employee to another. Its just a mess. Went to the mall and was done in 35 minutes.
Never enough people working. Long waits. Some of the staff are very nice and others are not.
Poor costumer service. Lots of waiting around till someone finally helps you. Also poor quality of glasses lenses. They get scratched so easily wich is really really annoying. Thinking about geting lenses somewhere else and see if they last longer.
She made my 4 year old feel very comfortable. I was happy with the outcome of our visit.
Your customer service sucks. On hold for 30 minutes to have no one answer a call that might have taken 5 seconds to take a message from me. I wonder why I went back after so many years. Never again
No office staff. Open til 8, here at 7:05, now 7:54. 4 people in line. Dont be open if you dont have the staff.
THE WORST. Save your sanity, your money and go somewhere else.
Well if been standing at the counter for over 15 mins and not one person has said anything to me. This is nuts. If there short staff then its poor management. Shame on them. Its freaking Saturday. Have enough staff
Dr. Melissa K. Plowmaker is the best. Walmart doesnt accept my particular vision insurance, but I pay extra because I know Dr. Plowmaker will get it right.
Always have to wait 5 minutes or more to be checked in. Ridiculous. They see you but dont acknowledge you.
Just rude and care little about the job
