This Shoprite is a welcome addition to Newark. It has the new look that most of the updated ShopRites around NJ have and a decent parking lot which is a great start. The area is still in transition for the better so security is a bit tighter which is fine.This ShopRite is bright and has a decent layout with some unique signage named after parts and key places in Newark which is nice and gives the store a unique touch. Unfortunately there are a couple things that this ShopRite suffers from. One major flaw is some of the stock is placed at the end of the aisles and it makes it hard to see the signs identifying whats in that aisle such as the cereal aisle or detergents. Its also hard to see turning out or into the aisle because its stacked high.

This is not my preferred ShopRite but because it is literally two minutes from my house, I am there often. It needs to be renovated so badly. Gair Lawn is a nice town but this supermarket is old and run down. I have lived in other places and shopped at nicer/new stores and I cant understand why they do not upgrade this store. The fixtures are all old - the shelving, the conveyor belts, the flooring. I think they have new credit card readers though.🙄 Even the parking lot is a little sus at night because sometimes the lights do not work. It can get crowded too although this location has underground parking, which I would never use at night. The food is fine in terms of freshness and variety but the store looks like a throwback to another era. There is another ShopRite that I found a couple of months ago. See my review on that store, located in the Belleville area.

Its one of the lesser Shoprites in the area. Not a great selection of items, nor, the friendliest of cashiers. Id travel a bit further to either Rochelle Park or Paramus Shoprites.

Went to shoprite today to get there brand pizza. It has changed to bowl and basket. There are still 9 slices but they are now about 1/4 the size as the original brand pizza. And the box is misleading. Very disappointed

The cashiers are lazy and dont wanna put bags in plastic bags when ur paying for groceries and the store sucks dont have large volume of different items the store filthy and cashiers are down right rude and inconsiderate they also like putting the wrong labels on the pre cut colecuts.i meam!! Come on simple job.in the deli dep.

There is a lot of variety to choose from. Also alot of hot and cold foods for a quick and easy fix for dinner. Plenty of parking but my experience with the employees I found them very unpleasant to deal with.

Worst Shoprite ever I have been to. I live in fair lawn, I always avoid this at any cost unless forced by unavoidable factors. 1 gallon whole milk is 4.29 here, where as Rochelle park 3.79. Water bowl and basket here 3.33 compared to Rochelle pk 2.79. And I can add many other products... cleanliness is the worst.. parking horrible.. no collections on fresh produce.. dont even bother.. with the new LIDL in elmwood park, I will never turn to river road shoprite ever!!!

My wife and I were shopping for some cold cuts. My wife never had a certain brand of lunch meat so I asked the deli guy for a sample. He rudely answered us with a sarcastic reply and just brushed us off with a We Dont Do Samples. The deli section is kind of dingy looking and the lights are dim. Good night everyone.

The WORST Shoprite I’ve ever been to. No selection, no variety, kosher items - forget about it, even their own brand is in limited supply. Won’t be going back.

Usually visit this establishment when visiting my mothers resting place at Fair Lawn cemetery. Worst visit ever, cashier was snappy and not very professional. Was glad to get the flowers and leave.

ShopRite is my family favourite Supermarket. We love to shop there because they always have discounted prices. Additionally, the management and staff are courteous, supportive, and cordial. They ensure that customers satisfied, despite any complaints they may have. Its a lovely community grocery store...and I truly recommend it to anyone desires to shop there.

Always have everything I need. Checkout is fast and staff are always helpful.

What is happenning to the ShopRite in Fair Lawn!!! I am sooo sad to see this once blossoming store slowly sliding down a mudslide of no more good sele tion, or very few organic choices, no turkey, the store does not look as clean as it used to be, no variety. Its staring to look old and rundown. Their once full garage is half empty. Please do not let go of this store.

Its an older Shoprite bit its a nice one. Theyve got everything youd be looking for.

A reasonable ShopRite with a good selection of items.Baked goods are nicely prepared and there is usually a daily special on them. (The hot cross buns are excellent but beware the overcooked peanut cookies.). Fruits and vegetables as well as meats are reasonably priced. The seafood is fresh and there is usually a good sale on a few types of fish.Parking is a little bit challenging at times and you have a choice between outside, which requires a short exposed to the elements walk or underneath.Unless its very busy there are usually spots underneath with a moving ramp up to the store. Traffic sometimes backs up on to River Road because people taking the right turn need to stop for people walking from parking. Its a short wait or you could continue on to the second entrance for the strip mall to avoid the delay and park outside.

Worst shoprite there is. Barely any variety, very few cashiers. Long lines and run down compared to how it used to be.

I got a custom cake from here. The online ordering app has limited options, so I had to call to get the cake I wanted. But they were very accomodating over the phone. Pick up was a little chaotic as it was Mothers Day weekend and they were busy. It is a little annoying that they make you get the ticket for the cake, pay for it and then come back to get the cake given the lines of people waiting to get cakes.

Shoprite is one of favorite supermarkets. Its always a sale going on. Normally crowded but moves at a fast pace although the cashiers should be a little friendly. Overall a great store!!!

They have really good ice cream cake and also when I was there the guy on line ahead of me had a really cute tiny dog. Also I love the underground parking garage and the cool moving sidewalk that takes you up into the store like a futuristic grocery utopia. Also props to the guy who checks receipts at the bottom of the moving sidewalk. That dude has the easiest yet simultaneously most BORING job in the whole store and he does it like a champion. Thank you.

Convenient location, having ShopRite here and a bunch of other small shops and cafeterias nearby makes this place my favorite when need to buy something quick.

At time, when Ben & Jerry boycott Israel you still sell their products. You have to follow NJ law- stop business with BDS company! Or shoppers will make their choice - leave you.

Its my local Shoprite. The tax rate is 3.5% which adds up. The butcher shop will custom cut what you need. Employees and management are very helpful. I usually go either very early by 8:30 am or very late 9:00 pm as it can get very crowded. At those times you have the place to yourself.

Its better than other shoprites you always find parking under it and they have a elevator and a bathroom and its nice and clean 😊👍

Everything has gone up too expensive since the pandemic. I used to spend almost $400 a month in one day now I spend about almost 200 or less. They should have us special for people who are running SSD SSI.

I wish they would clean the old papers and garbage out of the shopping carts. Store is just ok but carts are plain nasty. I reduced them to a 1 star because I complained 3 times to the store Mgr Mr Sissi and he seems to not care less and hasn’t done anything about the disgusting shopping carts or the gross cement floor leading into the store. Gum, garbage and what looks like old spilled food or vomit on the entrance floor. Not what you’d expect to see walking in to a supermarket. Kinda yucks. If they keep the areas you can see like that it makes me worry about the places you can’t see like the kitchen and the back storage area. In addition to discusting carts and entrance they often don’t have advertised sale items in stock(so you go there for nothing; bait and switch?) They also often charge regular price for a sale item so customers please check you receipt carefully.C’mon Shoprite what’s wrong with this store? Clean up your act and also hold the Mgr responsible for this mess!

Parking is a pain! Difficult to find a spot & a little dangerous crossing entry road to the parking lot. Grocery store had a great selection of items & plenty checkers at the registers. The line moved quickly to check out!

Produce especially Looked a bit lonely in there today. Perhaps a beech rush. The deli and seafood guys was very helpful and pleasant. They even gave suggestions and we tried and bought some. Went there for Parks beef sausage that my Fiancee absolutely love ones. Hard to find at other ShopRites We bought the last two however they was hot not regular ones, so I get none and he is happy

The store itself was fine but every single employee I encountered was so rude. I’m not usually one to write a review but I actually heard somebody from the meat department yelling at a woman who was struggling to explain something because of a language barrier. The special-needs girls that helped me check out were by far the most helpful people I interacted with today.

There was a younger woman behind the deli counter on Friday, January 22, 2021. I went to the store in the evening after work. She was extremely rude and down right nasty. She left me feeling so uncomfortable that I did not finish my order and decided to walk away instead. I ordered a pound of turkey. She rolled her eyes and screamed at me in a rude, demeaning voice, “WHICH ONE?” She then proceeded to point at the counter and rolled her eyes at me. Next, I waited in line to buy some salmon. The same employee behind the deli counter screamed at me that I was in the way and that the line was “OVER THERE.” I moved over and she then screamed at me again, “NO, ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COUNTER. MOVE RIGHT NOW!!!” There was another person behind me in line. However, she decided to scream at me. I was completely embarrassed and so uncomfortable that I never ordered my salmon. The customer service and treatment I received from that employee was apprehensible. This person needs to be removed from her job.The store is also very small and overcrowded with people. They don’t follow COVID-19 guidelines at all in terms of social distancing. The parking is horrible, too. They can get away with poor customer service and low store standards because they have limited competition in terms of grocery stores within close proximity.

Im usually very satisfied with the prices and the sales here but the lines are always so long. The entrance and the Exit are usually so congested I have trouble getting in and out. Is there any way to fix this problem? Thank You

Parking is not ideal and the store is usually busy. Good variety of items but can get pretty hectic during busy hours e.g. weekends and weekdays around 5 pm. Ive waited for upwards of 30 minutes to check out before on a Monday at 5:30 pm...

The worst Shoprite i have ever been! Dont bother with this one. I usually go to the one in Lodi and I will keep going there. Everything is so clean nice and employees are so polite! Im not even sure if Shoprite in Fair lawn can call itself Shoprite. They need to get new managment ASAP!

One of my favorite shoprite locations because I can find a variety of gluten and dairy free produtsbut they can do better with the cashiers. Not sure if its the hourly pay or what. But some are often rude and in a bad mood

I havent been to ShopRite on River Road in Fairlawn 9 months because I was out of the state of New Jersey I just went there today because it was convenient. I was shocked the store is filthy dingy looking, narrow aisles the boxes are in the aisles a lot of the shelves were empty.Prices have gone up almost double on items such as the entrees for instance healthy choice used to be 5 for $10 now tha $3 each. I will never go back there again. I just couldnt consol myselfas to the appearance of this store they need to do something about it. No one seemed to be distancing lines of course always long and still are shopping there today was a horror.🧹🛒🧹🆘️ go to Rochelle Park, Wyckoff. At least They are clean .

This ShopRite is much better organized and structured than most other branches I have visited in Jersey.

This is our local supermarket. They need to improve the cleaning of the floors seriously. Many customers and employees either not wearing the mask or not doing so correctly. Customer service is really poor. Some employees have bad attitudes and are not kind to customers. Very rude. I have spoken to managers twice about it. No improvement yet. We need another market in town because the lack of local nearby competition has taken an negative impact on management desire to provide better quality and service, specially geared toward Fair Lawn residents. I will update my rating if I see an improvement at my next visit.

This is my hometown ShopRite. Ive been shopping here for years. It has a small supermarket feel, but, quality and selection is excellent. Staff is top notch. The only reason I havent given it 5 stars, is because the parking is tough during peak hours, but, an extra star for the underground parking during bad weather days. All in all, its a great place to shop.

The cashier was so pleasant just now I think she was register 3 I usually go to the shoprite in Rochelle Park but my experience this morning n the store was so clean I definitely will be coming back to this location

I wasnt a happy camper once I got to the register and the young lady servicing me stated I can only take 2 packs of meats. Mind you I had a cart full of all kinds of groceries along with meat but I was only left to choose 2. Its cool. I wont be returning.

Pretty good customer service. During the weekdays it’s not too bad to go to. The weekend and major holidays the day before or day of is kind of expected since it’s one of nearest grocery store with pretty decent parking since it’s apart of the plaza nearby.

If you asked me last year, I would have said 5 stars but with corona they only open like 4 registers when they have 10+. They dont use every other register for distance so it shouldnt matter. Wednesday night I was on line for 45+ mins and all 4 lines were packed like that

This place needs work! It looks like the owners havent made any major investments in the place over the last 20 years. Carts are in bad shape and the outside looks rundown. At least the inside is fairly well maintained.It is convenient and overall their selection is acceptable. The selection in the meat department is mediocre at best, especially the chicken. Produce is ok.There does not appear to be any plastic bag recycling here unlike the one in Paramus. Disappointing.

The store has a decent amount of parking including an underground garage for bad weather days. They have everything you would expect from a large supermarket plus a hot, prepared food, food court.

This Shoprite River road in Fairlawn Nj has to be one of the worst in the Shoprite corp . Management is running it to the ground . Employees at registers act as if they dont want to be there not sure what they get pay but if you dont want the job get another one .

Nice and well-stocked supermarket with interesting finds. The building is outdated, though, with an underground parking garage and a conveyor belt for entry/exit. This location is supposedly being converted into a dark store with a new location moving into the old Pathmark building down the street on Maple Avenue.
