It was awesome taking accelerated open water diving course with Charlie and Steven! Gained a lot of great experiences and knowledge in scuba diving. Folks in this place are super knowledgeable and helpful. If you are new to scuba diving or a hardened veteran, these folks are able to help meet you where you at.Update: I also took the open water test at White Star Quarry with the instructors. Great experience and got certified.

My son and I are brand new to scuba diving. Immediately upon entering the store we were welcomed and then walked through the basics of what we needed to start our adventure. Craig was patient with us, put is both at ease, and shared a wealth of knowledge about the hobby. We cant wait to get in the water.

Best scuba shop in the MidWest! Craig and James are super helpful when trying to find the right gear or introducing you to people to dive with. I was certified with Chris and Jerey both of whom were funny, knowledgeable, and made sure I was 100% comfortable in the class!

What a fantastic experience gaining my Open water certification! My best friend purchased a gift card for me to start my scuba diving adventure and what a fantastic gift that was, especially since I had the opportunity in dealing with one of the best Dive Centers in the area if not the United States. From the charismatic owner, to the knowledgeable manager, and the fantastic instructors my experience with this shop has me wanting to go hangout there on a daily basis. Thank you again Craig, and Udo and everyone else at Sea the World. I’m already planning my advanced open water and wreck courses.

This place is great, and the owner Craig is an absolute legend! He was there on the weekend by himself helping three different groups of people with what they needed simultaneously! All the while with a smile on his face. Most people I think would have been overwhelmed and stressed, but not Craig! Its obvious he loves his job and helping people to enjoy SCUBA!

The people at this place are amazing. Everyone is friendly and helpful. If you are looking to getting SCUBA diving classes or looking for new equipment I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Did the discovery 3 hour session with Chris she was so knowledgeable and fun! I appreciate she wasn’t trying to get us to get certified, it honestly made us want to get certified more because she was genuine and not salesy!

We went there and Craig was very helpful and nice. Made sure we got fitted properly for our gear and there was a huge selection. We will be going back!

Great staff! The people that Ive dealt with (Chris, Jerry and Craig) at this dive shop are an example every sport or hobby store should follow. They promote the sport without trying to sell you anything you dont need. They will take the time to listen to you and understand what you want out of diving and steer you in the right direction. I literally drive 30 miles out of my way, and pass at least one other dive shop in order to do business with Sea The World Scuba Center. The owner Craig and his staff of instructors are absolutely top notch. The store is packed with gear, and everyone is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. This shop has the greatest instructors you could ask for, classes to meet any interests at any experience level, and an unbelievable selection of gear to fit any budget. I recommend Sea the World to anyone I know interested in an underwater experience, and with a travel agent on site, you dont have to go anywhere else to plan your next adventure!

I wanted to update my travel BCD and sent Sea the World a email on a Monday asking if they carried the BCD I was looking for. Craig responded that they didnt stock it but if I got in that day and left a deposit he would put it on the order he was sending out and it would be in on Thursday. I replied that I would stop in later in the week to see him. By that afternoon Craig had responded to my email saying that he had ordered the BCD in two sizes and that they would be in on Thursday. All this without a deposit. I went in and not only picked up the BCD but a new dive computer as well, and Craig gave me a good deal on both! Sea the World is atop notch dive shop that does it right!

Excellent service and pricing! Will be in soon for services for our next family adventure in the Caribbean.

Took the open water diving course here. Training staff did a great job, and the guys at the store were helpful and knowledgeable.

Very Cool Place. The scuba course is a bit tough but definitely rewarding.

Hilarious instructors, super easy going, fun, safe, learning environment. More than willing to work with you to help you out.

In my thirty salty years of diving I have seen three dive shops in lower michigan that deserve praise, and Sea the World is certainly one of those three. When I get on a boat anywhere in the world and see a t-shirt or hat from one of those dive centers, I know that person is not going to be a problem underwater. They have been trained well beyond just checking the boxes and moving on to the next skill. I know the owner, as well as long-time manager James, and they are all positive, professional, and focusing on how they and their staff can help the next person. I could search and sometimes find this or that item for less, but I could never find better, more knowledgeable, on-site owners. I speak from experience, I tried to dot com some gear one time and I made a huge mistake; returned it all never to look back. The longterm view is that there is no better overall deal then supporting and being supported by great local dive centers, especially these three. For the same reason I religiously buy from locally owned/operated businesses, I will go out of my way for these three because I know that they have and will continue to do that for every diver or soon-to-be-diver. Sea the World stands out to me for terrific service on gear and a very comfortable store to catch up on diving news and whats new. They have survived some bad economies while many around them have popped up and fizzled out. For new divers, I encourage you to visit dive shops and use internet reviews as one piece of the picture. Each shop has a vibe or feel to it, find the one that matches how you roll. Ive seen too many people take a class, fail to bond with the LDC, and never dive again. I want more happy dive buddies!
