Took my FN 509C IN to get a trigger Spring kit put in. Out of the box its heavy probably 6.5 lbs.It dropped it to 5 lbs. Or so much better.I will refer friends and family and be back. Thanks INTREPID!!😁

First time in since it was a different business (Elk Castle) but this is a completely new shop and way better. Great selection, tons of quality brands, and it looks like they’re just getting started.Prices are kind of all over the place. Some things are definitely overpriced but I also found some items for the same or cheaper than I’ve found online. But honestly it’s not surprising given the current state of the gun industry so I’ll give them a pass. I’m just happy to see a gun store in town that has a huge variety of quality products instead of bare shelves and overpriced garbage.And if you’ve never been before, they have a small range in the back which is convenient.

Today, was an incredible experience for me. I joined a couple of friends that have gun range experience....I have absolutely zero. I have never shot a hand gun before. Chris, was quick to acknowledge that I was very intimidated by handguns. He took the time and stop and walked me through what all the pieces of it, how to hold it properly, and made me feel very comfortable and at ease being in the gun range. Thanks for the amazing experience.

Nice selections, but poor poor service. I entered the store twice. I was never greater. They gathered together at tge counters talking and look. Nit offering any help. A white guy came in ten minutes behind me and was helped n greeted

This place is definitely what you call a hole in the wall. But its a good thing because you should never judge a book by its cover. The owner, Chris, made us feel so welcome and we definitely feel like we got our moneys worth.As soon as we came in we were immediately greeted, their staff is very informative, very welcoming, and very nice.Weve been to a lot of places to buy some of the stuff we were looking for, and you cant beat the prices that this place has! I promise you walk in and do a price check and they have the best prices. Very easy parking in this area, it is also next to a pawnshop.They seem to have a very loyal client base, they seem to know a lot of people by first name. It was busy when we came in but it doesnt mean that we werent helped. Chris is so nice and he really knows his stuff and we could definitely feel his passion. We will definitely be back!Also they also have a gun range & on certain days its super cheap, and on certain days women are free! They also have happy hour as well.

This place is fantastic! Super friendly staff always greeting and saying good bye... They help you feel welcome and answer questions without judgement. I took the LCT class from Paul and what a great teacher. He made a serious topic fun, engaging and I left confident in what i had learned. Not having owned or carried a firearm in almost ten years, lost my vision and had it come back because of a disability, I was naturally nervous to shoot and take a test. Paul taught us all well and my anxiety disappeared as the day went on. Thanks

These folks are good people. It was a madhouse when I was there. A ton of people and they saw to it that everyone was being helped. They hooked me up with what I went there to get.Overall pleasant experience.

I shop here frequently for all my guns and ammo. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They have an indoor range and offer LTC classes every Saturday. I have found the prices for guns and ammo are very reasonable and usually less than their competitors. Check out the LTC instructor Paul...everyone says he is amazing and helpful. Makes the class time enjoyable with his stories.

The staff is refreshing and professional! The shop is upgrading/updating merchandise on all levels! Gunsmiths, David and Daniel, are on hand and ready to repair or upgrade your guns. The range masters are always willing to help you with your guns or your aim. They have always given me great advice that is really useful. As a professional who has to maintain my handgun license, I have been to several ranges, both in and around the Fort Worth area, and this is by far, my go to range, because of the professionals who work there. Customers for life! Women are free on Mondays and the lunch special is $5 at the range!We have purchased 3 guns here and absolutely love the staff! Everyone is so welcoming and happy to answer any questions we had! The first time we went was when COVID had started so they were super busy, but we did not feel rushed at all and every time we go they still take the time we want/need to work with us! We love the range there so much we drive 35 minutes to use it (we pass 3 others on our way). My wife and I will be taking our CHL there, because the instructor is awesome!I have to say the bad reviews must be from a prior owner, there is just no way I can see the staff being anything busy amazing! They make you feel like family from the moment you open the door!The one time we were given inaccurate information about a gun we purchased the owner was willing to make it right without question.Basically I could make this review go on forever I have so many good things to say about the staff! We will NEVER use another weapon retailer or range! We are customers for life!

I have done business with Elk Castle (now Intrepid Shooting Sports) for over half a century. Their gunsmith Dave is one of the best in the business anywhere! He has always solved my gun problems going above and beyond the call of duty. Paul and the other management have always treated me extremely well. Every firearm I have bought from them has been excellent. They know their business and they treat their customers very well.

People are always friendly. I have been going to this range for a couple of years now. The range is clean and the guys back there are great. Charles has helped me and my brother with getting are groups tighter and proper gun control. Thanks Charles!

I dont leave reviews very much, but this shooting range is truly a special place. As a black man with dreadlocks I often receive a bit of a stigma upon first impressions. These men treated me very respectfully and Charles even took the time to explain many things about firearms that I was unaware of. I will be taking my CHL class here and taking the home safety course as well. Price is also the lowest out of any range by FAR.Incredible experience and thank you again.

Great selection, outstanding staff, and a really nice range, too. If you dont know what you want to carry, for a small fee you can shoot any of their pistols and revolvers, until you find the one that fits you best. You do have to buy their ammo, of course. My wife tried over a dozen handguns before she found the one she wants to carry. They even have a special day each month for women only, and classes just for women. Outstanding people, outstanding place!

My experience was anything but pleasant. I went to the gun shop with a problem with a shotgun I couldnt get back together after cleaning. A sales person I met was as stumped as I was and asked a gunsmith for assistance. The gunsmith not only rudely and indignantly refused to help, he informed me he had spent two years learning his trade and would clean the shotgun for a price. I explained that I would pay for his time just to observe the procedure. He steadfastly refused. I was incredulous concerning his hatefulness more than anything. I walked out of the store and wouldnt go back in there for free guns or ammo. The salesperson was as stupefied as I was by the display of poor behavior by the gunsmith.

Excellent, kind, courteous, knowledgeable staff. Took a group of friends here (it was my first time at this range, and one friends first time to hold let alone shoot a handgun) and the staff went through all the basics for my friend. (I was going to, but they stepped up and gave pointers and tips that I didnt even think of.) Everyone had a great time, and we will definitely be coming back.

0 starsThis place is horrible!! No one at this place knows whats going on. I dropped my fire arm off to have wok done on 4/9. I was told it would be ready the following day 4/10 because the gunsmith is out on Mondays. I called to get the status on work 4/12 since I havent heard anything. I was told that work could not be done in one day(already on 3rd day) was told at least 2 weeks they will try to bump my work up. Ok fine understandable. Called on 4/17 told gun on the rack he would call me later with an up date. Called 4/20 was told 6-8 weeks. Avoid this place at all cost!!!! The common response I dont know would told you that

This was the best indoor range Ive ever been to. Didnt look to much at the selection or prices. Nice to have an all in one stop though; gunsmith, range and ammo. Maybe update the target selection. Very reasonable price for range time. I will be going often.

Good selection of guns. Their ammo is marked up 100+% so expect to pay about 30 cents per round for target 9mm and 13 cents per round for 22lr. Their holster selection is also pretty sparse though youll find them on par with online going rates.

They have a pretty good selection of new and used guns. The prices are a bit high, I think, but they do have sales periodically. Dont wear sandals if you want to shoot. Its not posted but it is their policy. The workers are generally friendly and knowledgeable. One weekday evening I was the only person on the range and the range officer was extremely helpful and patiently recommended some great guns for me to try out. There are Groupons for the shooting range.

Finally ! A company with the customers satisfaction as their #1 concern. On the few occasions that to no fault to Elk Castle, a scope ring, or other accessory was wrong or missing, one email had the wrong or missing accessory corrected and shipped out immediately ! This is rare indeed, as rare as the courteous and speedy response. Elk Castle is my #1 sports outfitter !

Best customer service Ive had not only in a gun shop but period. the staff was extremely knowledgeable. they also have a honest approach. i did feel like they where trying to sale me a gun but rather help me find the right thing for me. i never wright reviews so for me to do one for this place it has to be something special.

Ive only shot a few times with my grandpa and my neighbor. My neighbor is the one who had recommended that I come here and rent a gun so I could shoot some and see what I liked.Walked in to the range and met Kyle. Told him I wanted to shoot. After shooting every handgun, he always told me what he liked/disliked about each one. It helped me to get a little more familiar with each of the guns.Good place to go if you want to learn. And it seemed like it was pretty cheap. The lane cost $15.00, and the 9mm ammo is about the same price for 50 rounds.

Ive delt with this location a couple of times. Bottom line is the service is excellent. They have always worked with me without making a fuss. Elk Castle is my firearm store of choice.

My go to gunsmith, quality work and fair prices. The gun range isnt bad and never a wait. If youre wanting to shoot something other than a pistol go somewhere else.

Workers were OK. I dont like their safety policy. They let two people who said before they were allowed to go into the range were novices we need your help go into the range area without a range master, with firearms and ammunition. Luckily they were smart enough to wait for a range master to help them, but if they were idiots they could have caused a catastrophe. They charge too much for targets. They give you the first one free but charge 1.25 after that.Lane time is not expensive. So that is a plus.

Great staff always friendly and always willing to show you how to improve your shooting or improve you collection. Shooting range is awesome they even have a loaner speed loader that is amazing to use so quick.

I bought a handgun from elk castle last year and the employees were patient and helpful. I left with a excellent gun for my use. Still pleased.

ZERO STARS!!!!!!! I took my Sig AR in for repair, 8 weeks later I went in to check on progress as they hadnt called me. They hadnt even started on the gun yet, I took it home and will NEVER go back here. They didnt even take the time to ask why I was removing the rifle before the repair was made. I would give zero stars if possible. I have a friend who is LEO and it took them months to repair is handgun, he had to go up there more than once because they never called him to give updates.

Was there at the end of August for a hunter education course. The staff was extremely professional and experienced at teaching the course, and was able to accomodate the 80 plus people that showed up to take the class. For people who need to complete a hunters ed course on short notice I highly recommend Elk Castle!

Pretty small setup and a little bit warm. gives you a cozy feeling if youre on the range by yourself. Prices are spendy if you dont bring your own gear but thats normal.

Meh, the range fees are reasonable, but they offer classes and then act like they dont want to sign you up. Also they arent very patient with the inexperienced gun owners questions. Youre basically on your own there. Id give them a 2.5 stars. Go to Defender Outdoor for your LTC & guns or Firearms Unlimited if you just need a weapon. Go to Elk to shoot.

Very poor customer service. Or should I say no customer service. Went in there, stood at back counter for many min. While guy was on phone. When he got off the phone he went to back and never came out. I walked around a bit and still no service. Even had my pistol in hand. I needed sights installed. They wont be getting any recommendations or business from me. I finally left thinking thats 30 min of my life I wont get back.

Always able to get in the range with in an hour. And the range prices are very reasonable. They also are happy to help and instruct you.

This is where I got my LTC certificate. Great instructor who I believe is the General Manager. Good man.

Stopped by to have screw extracted on pistol and have the sights checked on another pistol. Elk fixed and checked the pistols while I waited. They were very helpful during my visit and I highly recommend doing business with them.

Purchased a gun from an individual and had it shipped from this facility and shipped to my FFL in TN. They sat on the gun for 4 days before it shipped and I was unable to use it in the charity skeet match that I was putting on. They seemed to have no concern whatsoever with the delay. I would not buy anything from this facility due to the lack of service they provide.

I went from someone with a fear of guns to someone confident of how they are used properly. The instruction here is wonderful.

Been shooting here for over year now never had a problem until today, been shooting the same ammo the last three times Ive been there, and today they said I couldnt. I drove 20 minutes to come to this range thatll be the last time. Make sure you have only namebrand ammo when you come to this place or buy theres. yeah you cant shoot that ammo here but if you want to buy ours you can. No thanks Ill go to shoot smart from now on nicer ranges and better prices.

The staff is NOT friendly! With the exception of a new hire (a younger girl) which was Very friendly and helped me out with everything I needed. She was also making small talk and really being nice. This place is expensive, which is not a big deal if the customer service was friendly. Cause I really like the atmosphere. But.... most of the male employees act stuck up and Rude. Kinda like they did not want me to be there. I will not be back even though it is close to me.I would rather go to the gun show w/ discounted prices and people that are nice and friendly.The FFL fee is a bit over $50 which is high too compared to others.LEARN HOW TO BE FRIENDLY ELK CASTLE!! The guys that work there are very knowledgeable and friendly. Range is small but well kept.

Please don’t use these people. To anyone that uses this place a friend of ours used these people to ship a armalite AR30 to my wife through Fedex. And when the rifle showed up to the gun shop the bolt handle and the scope was broke. Called and talked to them twice and they said they would call fedex here it is going on two weeks later not even a call back from them. I my wife and I have talked to some friends we will never use this place for anything. They do not care about there customers. This is just my opinion from my wife’s experience with them.

Looks like Ill be changing my review of this place as it is entirely possible to drop off a firearm with them, be told its working just fine after theyre done with it only to take it to the range and discover said firearm has magically become less reliable and you cant get a straight answer as to how that is possible.

The range allows for shotguns and pistols, I think I heard the safety officer stating they didnt allow rifles. This has become my new favorite gun range! The staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The range is excellent, well lit and maintained. Ive had issues with other ranges not having enough A/C in the summer time but climate control is not an issue here. The range fees are cheaper than most as well. I bought a used Springfield XDm .40 and got a great price. They even installed the Tru Glo sights I bought for free. Gun prices are better than most shops including big box stores like Gander Mountain and you cant beat the selection. If youre in the market to purchase a firearm ask for Brandon and he will hook you up!

Very overpriced on range fees, ammo, guns and accessories but hey everyones gotta make a living. Didnt let me shoot some hollow points because they didnt Recognize the brand I wont be going back.

Called ahead to see if they were busy at 3:20 pm and got there at 3:50 to find out they close at 4. They could have relayed that info over the phone before I drove across Fort Worth to ve told they were closing
