I’ve utilized R & S since 2013. They have performed monthly maintenance and taken care of the various issues that come with owning a boat. Trim tabs, bait well water pump, batteries and preventative maintenance on the motor, etc. I’m very pleased with the service and highly recommend Russell, George and the crew. Russell’s wife Sherry cleans boats and does an amazing job as well.

Russell and his technician Rick are two of the best in the business - any recommended service or repairs are reasonable in their prices and they make sure that you feel confident on the water and know your boat as well as they do. I asked specifically if I could accompany the technicial in doing a 300 hour service and diagnostics on some issues I was having. They made sure I knew end to end everything that needed to be done, made recommendations about what was and wasnt necessary (which saved a bunch of time and money), and even took my boat for a test drive to make sure everything was working properly and that all of the issues were fixed. These guys are so experienced they can diagnose issues just by a sound or description and often times have talked me out of costly unnecessary repairs and honed in on the real issues.They are two of the nicest most knowledgeable technicians Ive ever met and are boat owners themselves and have your best interest and good honest business at heart. This was my first experience using R&S Mobile Marine, and I could not be happier. I scheduled normal maintenance service online a few weeks in advance, and they easily accommodated my request. When the technician arrived at my home, he uncovered a problem that could not be easily repaired on site. They were able to get my boat back to the shop, repair it, perform the normal maintenance, and have it back the next day. Their prices were in line with similar services that I have had in the past. I would highly recommend them if you have any boat needs!

Russell always takes great care of our Gunslinger and gets her back on the water super quick so we can get back out to haul in more fish! Highly recommend and we wouldn’t use anyone else!

Russell owns and operates a very knowledgeable crew of people who are honest and trustworthy and can fix things that other boat mechanics simply cannot fix. He stands behind his word and will correct any issues that arise that were undetectable the 1st time around. His prices are very reasonable and he is easy to get along with. I have used R&S for tilt repair on my 175 Suzuki. Finish Line did not repair. George, One of Russell’s mechanics replaced the tilt motor which was cracked. Had my eleven year 22’ BlaZer Bay detailed and it was beautiful again.No body but R&S works on my boat and motor. Ed LucasBayou Vista.

Another satisfying experience with the R and S guys. I have been using them exclusively for the past 2 1/2 years and am extremely happy. Just noticed last trip that my anode was in pretty bad shape. They got it replaced in no time and for not much more than the cost of the part. I would like to thank Russell and his crew for the job that they did on my boat. They were extremely courteous and efficient. They worked on my yamaha motor and the final results were great. They even worked on replacing the water pump even after they were closed. Everyone there were great even the bill was very reasonable. If you ever get to Galveston and have a boat problem of any kind dont hesitate taking your boat to them. My wife and I were pulling up to the fuel dock at the Galveston Yacht Basin when the throttle cable on my hunter 36 broke. We were able to safely get tied up at the fuel dock I explained our problem and the dock attendant (Trevor?) recommended R&S. I called several times before their opening hours and left no message but shortly after 8:00 am Russell returned my call. He showed up in just a few minutes with the part he though we needed ( turns out I gave him a poor length estimate on the cable) unfortunately it was too short and he had to get one dime West Marine in Clear Lake. Russell and George worked until they got the job down. These guys were friendly and most important knowledgeable, skilled and quick. I cannot say enough good about this business!

This place is the BEST! They stand behind their work and give great service at a fair price. Russell fixed my bait well pump n short notice so I could enter a tournament this summer. This weekend, he diagnosed a faulty water fuel separator, replaced it, & got me back on the water so I could enjoy a weekend of fishing rather than putting my boat in the shop. These guys really care about their customers!

I told the owner Russell that I didn’t have the money to send my motor to his shop and pay to have it fixed so he sat on the phone with me for multiple days trying to fix it over the phone so I wouldn’t have to pay him. I didn’t end up fixing it and just ended up taking it to him when I got the money. Haven’t got it back yet (only been a week) but so far have had nothing but a good experience with this company and the owner.

These guys have been maintaining our offshore fishing boat for years and we are extremely pleased with the quality and timely work they perform. Highly recommended.

We have a house in Bolivar and take our Shearwater 25 LTZ across the channel to R&S whenever we need any type of service. Very convenient to just leave your boat in the water and let them handle the rest. Work is always done properly, timely and reasonably priced.

I would like to preface this review by saying that I have worked with R & S on 2 separate occasions. My first experience was with their mechanic, performing a service on both engines and troubleshooting an electrical issue. The mechanic was wonderful, he went above and beyond to complete the job in a very professional manner. My second experience was a polar opposite, this work involved working with the 2 owners.My advice to anyone working with this company would be to communicate all details of the job, both before and during the process via email, text, etc. only ; you want a record of your conversations with R & S. Also, I would certainly recommend before and after photos of both the boat and trailer, if applicable. Also, if you store your trailer next door at Galveston Yacht Basin ( Nothing negative concerning the GYB or their staff, they are wonderful), make sure it is behind the gate on the trailer lot, if that is not possible, place a sign in a visible location that contains your name and states for no one to use your trailer. When preparing to move my boat temporarily to Dallas, we could not find the trailer. With the help of the GYB staff, we spent several hours searching, we finally found the trailer in the R & S lot with someone elses boat on it, I have no idea how long they had been using it. When launching their boat from my trailer it started to sink, I feel for the owner of that boat. Minor damage was present on the trailer which was not noticed until I launched the boat in Dallas, the owner of R & S said I should have said something prior to leaving his shop, difficult to ascertain trailer damage with a boat on it. His camera must be able to see beyond the capability of the human eye as he said the camera revealed no damage.Again, my recommendation would be, should you choose to work with this business, to only communicate with the owners via email or text, dont pay them until the job is complete and to take plenty of pictures.

We were headed to the Galveston jetties but the motor ran rough and jerky and would bogged down. So we returned to GYB and R&S Marine Service to see if they can help. Their mechanic (Bryon I think) diagnosed a fuel problem and changed the fuel water separator filter and the inline gas filter. He assured us that we can head to the jetties and return with no problem. this mechanic and Russell have always tried their best to get us back on the water as quickly as possible. Theyre honest, courteous, and professional. Anyway, the 150 Merc ran fine that day and we limited out on sheepies, two black drums, and one speck. Thanks to them!

Motor and tilt trim were not working, after talking to the owner russel he explained what might be the problem, I looked and figured it out. Learned something new about my boat as I’m not boat savvy. He helped very much and was really nice. Any other problems I have I’ll be sure to go to R&S.
