Wont go there again. Had a small screw in a tire. I had used fix-a-flat to get to there shop a few miles away. At there shop they said it was non repairable because fix-a-flat cant be removed. But they said they had a tire in stock for $ 400.00. I have used fix-a-flat for a few decades and knew that they were only trying to sell me a tire I didnt need. Had them top off the air pressure and then drove two hundred miles home with no problem.Next day I took it to our local tire shop where they cleaned it out, wiped it down and patched it. Something I have done a many a times.over the years.
Very happy with service. 2 new tires and alignment.
Pulled in just to ask if someone could check my tire pressure. Dont know the gentlemans name but he was so nice and he checked my tire pressure and reset my dummy indicator. Great customer service that day.
Brought my truck in for a tire repair. Waited for 30 minutes until they could look at it they pulled it in the shop never pulled my tire off and stated that they could not patch it.. recommend me take it down the road to have it plugged.. I brought it to another place and they took my tire off and placed a patch inside with no problem all within 30 minutes of me being there.. poor customer service..
Bought four new tires in 2019. Front two tires started a slow leak in January, kept getting worse, so I had another shop look at them today. Get this: both tires had plugs in them. My brand new tires that had not come off my car until this shop took a look at them today. These guys have been giving me problems for as long as Ive been taking my car there. Never again. Anyone looking for a good auto shop on Galveston Island, go to JSV automotive at Broadway and 35th!
On vacation, woke up to a very sick child so we were going to head home but then had a flat tire. I told the guys here I needed to get this fixed ASAP so I can get home with my sick baby, they got me in and out faster than any place I’ve ever been before, super accommodating and understanding of the situation I am in.
Came in with a shredded tire in the trunk riding on a spare. The customer service was fast, honest, and reasonably priced. As a consequence I was back on the road in less than an hour! The man who helped me (Joe) was the picture of professionalism and should get a raise (shouldnt we all?)Highly recommended 👌
Great Service here....Ask for Trent. He was great to work with. Trent was able to diagnose the problem, provide me with a fast and accurate quote (which I though was very reasonable) and get the vehicle fixed right away! They changed out the alternator. The car is running fine and we are back on the road. Thank you Trent! Sincerely, Doug Burack, Frisco, Texas
Price gouging...I went here for some tires and a car alignment total for the tires were $745 NOT including my alignment which was $179. I went to a Firestone in Spring, Tx for the same tires in all I got tires and an alignment for $779
A total rip off. went in for an alignment and they said they couldnt do ot i needed a new rack and pinion. $1300 later my car still pulls and the steering wheel vibrates. they said i need new tires and then it will stop. what a bunch of thieves. never will go back. dont be scamed like me.
Very expensive but still hadnt fixed the main problem
***update***(I added another star since keys were found.. brought yall up to 2⭐)***Key was in the passenger side sun visor (not somewhere Id look when drivers side floor was the original & only location Ive ever known). I could delete this whole review but I still think that the issues I brought up are worth yall seriously considering fixing. I put stars next to the important ones****If I could give the Galveston Firestone negative stars, I would.A customer of mine decided to take his car elsewhere to be repaired, but since Firestone *⭐doesnt have ANY type of system in place for night drop offs (not even a drop box for keys that belong to cars that have to come to their shop after hours) customers & business professionals alike, have to jump through hoops to get anything arranged. 4 separate phone calls were made to have the keys left under the mat.A completely wasted trip. Not only did they forget to leave the keys (which I can forgive....were human and we all make mistakes) however the reason Im leaving this is because ***⭐I could still hear people inside the bay doors & not a single one would even poke their head out to give me the keys or acknowledge that I was even there.***⭐GALVESTON FIRESTONE, SUPERIOR SERVICE IS DEFINITELY NOT YALLS STRONG SUIT.... IM PRETTY SURE YOU CAN DO BETTER IF YOU TRY.
I highly recommend this place based on the service Ive received. Alot of times mechanics will over price me for oil changes or other routine maintenance because I am a female, but not here! The employees are very friendly.
I was told it would take 2 hours before they could look at my truck, after waiting for one and a half hours,I was told the truck wouldnt have time today,to come back tomorrow,Not only wasting my time but rude about it, theres so many other places in town, dont east your time here
Rude and very odd employees. The man with white hair was in a bad mood from the get go. I saw him being short with other customers too, so it wasnt just me. Other guy there asked me a question and as I briefly answered him, he walked out of the room. What in the world? Buddy, you started talking to ME. I am convinced these people have never interacted with other humans before.
Let’s talk about Firestone, I came here last year they changed all of my four tires because I was going on a road trip, I go in with my day and I’m leaving the city when all of a sudden one tire has a flat out of nowhere, I seriously couldn’t believe it because my tires were barely new. I come to Firestone because they are pretty cheap, but because it’s cheap maybe stuff like that happen, but it doesn’t mean that they can’t put in the tires right because it’s so dangerous! I’m here again 2021, I had made an appointment at 4:30 pm I was rushing from work to get to Firestone for them to tell me that tires hadn’t arrived yet and then they tell me that they sold two of the tires that they were going to add in my car I was like “ok just add in the two tires” plus they toooook sooooooo loooooong!!!! I was there from 4:30 till 7:15. I think you should ask questions before anything, don’t be like me I’m such a desperate person and I like to do things fast.
I came to the Galveston Firestone after my check engine light came on suddenly on a Thursday morning. The mechanics were friendly and helpful. I was in and out in a couple of hours.
Came in to fix a flat tire. Left with a flat tire and $150 of charges. Awful.
Broke down driving thru Galveston and was towed to this location. They were friendly and the repairs needed were fairly priced and performed to get me back on the road in a couple hours. (Alternator and Serpentine belt), Thank You!
While on VACA in Galveston, I managed to pick up a screw in my new tire and needed some help. The new truck had a Goodyear tire (5K miles) and was unable to be repaired due to location of puncture.Trent made a few calls to locate a matching Goodyear tire and actually found one in Houston. Due to time constraints, a plan B was formulated. We ended up removing the spare tire and installed it on the chrome rim for a matching set of 4. Then, added a new Firestone tire to the spare rim. This allowed me to be back on the road with four matching tires on the ground and a new spare under the truck.I feel like Trent went out of his way to help me. He could have said, I will put the spare tire on and you can sort it out later. Rather, he put himself in my place to do what I think was the right thing.Shout of to Steve. Steve is a great technician. He takes pride in his work and will treat your vehicle as his own. I walked out and saw my wheel center cap sitting right side up on the running board of my truck. Many Techs would put the center cap on the ground upside down and allow the cap to be scratched. Nope, not Steve. Thank you very much for your attention to detail.Trent and Steve were most helpful and I highly recommend them both without reservation. I felt they were honest, helpful and responsive. Good work guys. Thank you.
Good, just got the state inspection
Fast effective tire repair friendly CS
I heard clunking from both my front wheel wells when going over bumps and turning. Looked and saw that my passenger sway bar link bushing was broken. I took a picture. I also noticed that my steering belt squealed and my hand break was slipping a bit. I made an appointment and dropped it off 7am the next day. Said they would call me with an estimate. I was expecting a few hundred dollars...the call came..$2,300...You could hear my shock, What would justify $2,300?! The caller said, There are all kinds of things that are broken. Do not touch anything on my car. I want to see what $2,300 of damage is!, I have to say was quite loudly into the phone.I got there and I said, My name is Tracy and someone show me exactly what is broken that justifies $2,300. And they could not. The only thing that was broken was the sway assembly link bushing. See picture. The mechanic said something to the fact that they needed to clean and sand something that made the connection to the hand brake system. I took a rag and wiped the dirt off the thing and asked about the squeal from my steering belt and he said he didnt find anything wrong. So why is there recommended work for Belts? See picture.I looked at the 5 guys standing around me and said, Replace the two front sway bar assemblies and that is all. Do not do anything else to my car.Its also quite amazing how loosing a few customers that were waiting to be seen, and another who was going to buy tires increases the time of getting my parts in from 2 hours to 30 minutes. You can deduce from this experience that I will not be returning. Two stars for fixing what I asked for. Went to OReillys and got my battery tested, it was fine. Bought a engine filter for $10, changed it myself. As you can see, the recommended work still does not come to $2,300. Unfortunately, looks like photos wont download.
100% Pros 200% Mark up on parts and Service
If youre just getting off of work and need a tire changed and the worker there by the name of ALAN tells you we take cars up until 7... Then you arrive and they have the store shut down and ALAN says we wont change your tire until tomorrow IF I SAY IT ONCE ILL SAY IT AGAIN ILL TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSE WHERE!!!Galveston Co. Do not give them your business take your money else where... Somewhere theyll actually take care of you!
Ive tried to get service from this place 3 times within the last year as a last resort, and all three times they have had over 5 hour waits as soon as the place opened. Even when scheduling appointments they treat you as a low priority. Never come here unless you want to waste your day.
No one like firestone offers a lifetime alignment service and balance service. I bring my truck & 2 cars here every 5000 miles and they drive perfect like new. Definitely come here for tires. As far as auto repairs, I always appreciate these guys telling me about potential issues. Trey has been very helpful.
Called Firestone to get my front drivers side wheel replaced due to a slight bulge on the sidewall. Chris informed me they had three in stock, so I set up an appointment for the next day. He called later to ask if I just wanted the one tire, or he could get another three tires sent to the shop if I wanted all the tires changed. My wife and I discussed it, and decided if it was necessary we would change them all out, so I called Chris to order the other tires. I showed up the next morning already prepared to purchase six tires. Chris went out and looked at the truck, and when he came back he told me I would love to sell you all six tires, but you dont need them. I could sell them to you, but thats not the way we do business. I ended up buying the front tire, and an inspection. Thanks to everyone who worked on the truck, and thank you Chris for being honest.
Fast and efficient service
Trent always help me out making sure my car is safe
Overpriced and they attempt to sell you parts and services your vehicle does not need. Took my car in for a state inspection and they recommended 2k worth of repairs that were unnecessary and fraudulent.
Picked up a nail in my tire on my way to Galveston for vacation. Made it to Firestone with a little under 20psi remaining. Went in 15 minutes after the store opened and there was 1 car in the bay and 0 customers inside. Waited 20 minutes for the worker (possibly the manager) to field 2 phone calls while he pretended I wasnt standing in front of him. I shouldve known it was going to be a bad experience by the upsell nature of his conversations. I was finally able to ask if I could get my tire patched (an easy 15 minute repair) and he told me Id have to leave my truck there FOR THE REST OF THE DAY, or to go somewhere else. I chose to just plug it myself. This Firestone doesnt value anyones time and clearly doesnt have much work ethic. Youd be better suited shopping elsewhere.
Great and efficient service.
I think that Firestone is a very good place to go everytime I get an old part fixed I get a lifetime warranty. Costs a little more but it is so well worth it. Great customer service. I get my vehicle back in a timely manner. I always get everything fixed at Firestone at this Firestone
Always great service, sometimes you have to wait a bit but thats because theyre always busy which is a good thing. Ive liked this Firestone since the first time I went there many years back all my vehicles have been there. I really enjoyed the great service and great work
It is always scary getting stranded in an unfamiliar town with a broken down car, but my situation ended well thanks to Firestone. They were very helpful and diagnosed a very minor repair that got my car working again. I greatly appreciate their honesty. Since I didnt know who was fixing my car I was expecting to get fleeced, but instead I had an extremely low cost repair that was fixed with honesty and integrity. I would definitely use these guys again!
The manager there was Very helpful and knowledgeable
These guys are wonderful! Came in at 10 minutes to 7:00 at night with a quickly leaking tire and they stayed late just to get it taken care of. They found the leak, got it fixed and I was out the door in less than half an hour. Great service and friendly people are hard to find these days in the service industry, and these folks are among the best! Thanks so much for your time and help!
Affordable! I needed a full synthetic oil change and had called all over the island for prices. Until I got to Firestones phone number. The lowest before tax price I was quoted was $79 and the highest was $99. When Firestone quoted me $57 after taxes, I made them confirm it, then I made an appointment. They let me know it might take awhile as they were busy, yet had me out of there in 30 min. Five stars!
Since moving to the island in 2012 Ive always taken my cars to Firestone. The staff is always incredibly helpful and honest about the work that needs to be done. Prices are very reasonable and the work is done in a timely manner.
Broken down and stranded 30 miles from home and 45 miles from my trusted, family owned Mechanic I decided, in a panic, to have my car towed to Firestone Complete Auto Care in Galveston. Thankfully the test they ran only cost about 30 bucks, because the results were far more expensive to fix!$8,000. Eight. Thousand. Dollars. They wanted nearly $10k to fully replace a $3,000 car’s engine. They did however follow this up with an irresistible “band-aid” fix for the low low price of $3500.I decided to have it picked up and towed to My usual place (which was not a cheap trip, but well worth it. Always stick to the tried and trusted!) where I learned that my engine block was fine, but my thermostat needed to be replaced, for a far more reasonable fee.I had heard bad things about Firestone before and on my very first visit, they were all confirmed.
This is twice in a row now I’ve brought my truck in and it’s taken them well over 7-8 hours to pull it in. Apparently, they are short staffed and can’t work on vehicles in a timely manner. Don’t bother making an appointment, either, because that doesn’t seem to guarantee anything. It’s a shame because I really liked this place. Time to find somewhere else to go.
I was able to walk in and tell them I needed a tire replaced and within 45 minutes I was back on the road, which is saying something cuz I have not the easiest tires to find
Always fair there!
My tire had flat. So, stopped by this store, there were hardly 1 customer but I have been told that wait time is 3 hrs. Kidding me...I went to a local tire shop next street to fix my flat tire and they did it in 10 mins.Better you guys close the store.
You need to be well informed before going here because they will add services to your invoice without discussing them with you.. The firestone website is pretty good, it will give you a quote on the cost before you get there and then make sure to compare it to what they try and charge you. Witnessed a lot of rude responses to questions by other customers.
$ 90.00 for one (1) light bulb change for a toyota 2002. Good luck on getting customer back! You deserved 0 star instead of 1 star. Dont listen to any replies from the owner of Firestone, they tried to lie and trick you to make true reviews about them look bad. NOT RECOMMENDED! Do NOT come here whatsoever or youll be SWINDLED and RIPPED OFF! Believe in my review, I never write any bad reviews except this business has done an unacceptable job. Again, do NOT come here. They deleted my post, but Ill post this review again and make sure its on. Posted August 13th, 2019.
This place is the worst. There is no reason to replace my battery for $168, which is only 1-year old. I took the old battery to Sams club, and the testing was good on battery.I don’t trust FS anymore.
I have had THREE bad experiences with mechanical repair. They installed a radiator hose incorrectly and blocked the electric fan and burned out the fan motor. They COULDNT FIND ANYTHING WRONG when we took it back twice! They did full diagnostics and nothing came up on the computer”. So much for looking at the actual engine, it anything...this was the last time. 3 strikes on separate vehicles...YUR OUT! maybe tires, but NOT Mechanical Service!
Where to begin! Grant, Jose, and Arthur deserve an award for taking such good care of my car and me. After a scary incident as a result of bad gas, my fuel line was so gummed up I couldnt safely drive back to Dallas. They worked hard to find the problem, clear it out, and return the car in top condition. It was a bad situation that only went well because of their sincere customer care. I cant thank them enough for the help - going above and beyond is an understatement!
I went in here just to find out about my tires and my brakes and then they kept me there for way over an hour and then they came up to me with this quote and they told me to have all the repairs fix it would be about $1,700 I was like yeah theres no way Im going to pay any of that just put my wheels back on and let me go the whole time the kids telling you all you need to get these repairs done I think its incredibly overpriced I went to my smaller mechanic and he did the repairs for me in a fraction of the cost I got new tires new brake pads new rotors all I had to pay was $300 not anywhere near the crazy amount they wanted me to pay
Got brand new tires, about a month later one of them got a leak. Took it back and they said they fixed it. It was not fixed. Tried to take it back again so they could actually fix it this time and they told me it would be over an hour wait, just to fix a leak!! Ridiculous! Would not recommend at all and very disappointed in their product assurance.
Always quick service.
Good, honest folks. I was visiting and my front tire was getting flat. I took the vehicle to them and they were very friendly. As it was close to their closing time, they asked me to leave my car at the shop. Once they figured that I didnt have a ride back home, one of their guys (Arthur) offered to drive me back to my airbnb. They patched my tire up and that was that. 10/10 will go here again unless my car stops being a jerk.
Outstanding service by Trent Yeager and staff. Completed right the first time and at a good price.
Ill be honest, we had sworn off of Firestone due to multiple issues with multiple locations. This one though was actually really great. We ended up needing a tire replaced while on vacation, and John got us taken care of. We ended up sitting there for a couple hours due to bad timing (mechanic on lunch break), but we got out of there and on our way to finish our day.
$ 129.00 charged to change 1 break light bulb for my Chevrolet 1995. Im From Dallas and Would never go back to Firestone at Galveston. Do NOT listen to or believe in any Responses from Owners. Going back to Dallas and spread this terrible news. Dont come to this Firestone at all cost. Theyre real swinders and Liars.
So I went for oil change Monday. They rotated my tires too. Pulled out tire light on. They put air in next day.Now today on way home from Houston light came on. I pictured it blowing out & crashing. Called them yes upset. Mgr hung up on me!Called back apologized. He said they would help me when I get there.Supposed to be free since I bought $500 tires there.Prayed. Arrived. They refused me!Had to go somewhere else & pay!So so disappointed!!!!
Quality work and they stand by their estimates. This shop took great care of me.
My wifes Mercedes needed new tires and frontend work. Frontend parts took longer than expected.Grant went way out of his to get the job done in a timely manner and even discounted us on the parts and alignment. We were very happy with the end result. The new Manager Grant is definitely an asset to Firestone. Highly recommend Grant and his team.
With their balancing machine down, a delay of a day because of a wrong order, AND A failed notification of when the car was ready today (via email or a phone call) the Firestone on 61st, really REALLY let me down on this one.
Firestone as a company has a bad rep, but I was forced to use the local guys when a tire blew after everyone else was closed. These guys have single handedly restored my faith in the company (at least this location). Thanks for the help, and great service.
Lets just say the guy sent me to Juniors who helped me in 5 minutes.
I had a spare tire I couldnt get off the bracket on my trailer. They immediatly took it back and got it off. On top of that didnt even charge me. Thanks for the great service guys.
Great friendly staff! I had an accident and was from out of town and it was Sunday...they were excellent on taking care of me in a timely manner. Thanks
I picked up a nail in a tire on our way to Galveston. I knew when I looked at it that it was in the sidewall and therefore could not be fixed. They were busy when we got there so they allowed me to take the tire off in their parking lot and leave it with them so that we could continue our vacation while they put a new tire on. Once done, they mounted the tire back to my pickup and put the spare back underneath.
Unprofessional employees. One older gentleman with white hair and a goatee in particular, was extremely rude and offputting from the get-go. I called to schedule a simple battery change, and as soon as this man picked up the phone he was rude and petulant like a little child. Like a pissed off nine year old. Grown men should act like grown men. And he should know better in the age of online reviews. When I left with my vehicle in the afternoon he had taken his shoes off right there in the middle of the store, and he was walking around in his socks.Plus, greasy glove marks all around the inside and the outside of my white car. Im talking every surface you can touch while sitting in the driver seat. Come on yall.
Priced alignment and 2 tires, total $288. Got the store salesman had changed the tires from $69 to $150 each. Told him that wasnt price quoted. He changed it to original quote so we dropped the car off and left. I get a call 1/2 hour later saying wheel is ready to fall off needs tierod ends. I said forget everything I will pick it up. Took it to Steves tire, no tierod ends need replaced only alignment. The place tried to rip me off hundreds of dollars. Avoid this crooked place! P.S. Steves has best of best plaque for tire stores on the wall. I am verifying that!
I went in with a running vehicle, ended up with a totaled car. I took my car in for an oil change, they called and let me know I also needed new spark plugs and a new battery so I gave the go ahead for that. Two days later my car started to overheat. I pulled over and called firestone. I talked to the manager Chris and told him there was no oil in my car, he bullied me into thinking I dont know what high mileage oil that has just been changed looks like and told me to take it to the nearest firestone (I was in Houston). So I let my car cool off for about an hour and headed to the nearest firestone, on my way the engine blew up. I had it towed to the nearest firestone. That firestone called and let me know the Galveston firestone forgot to put the oil cap and the oil filter back on and that they were having my car towed to Galveston to remedy this situation (I have this in writing). Chris at Galveston firestone assured me he would reimburse me for the $300 of work, get me a rental and fix my engine. I went by to check that my car made it to Galveston only to notice new body damage (I had some minor previous damage) on the front bumper. At this point they had had my car about a week and had still not looked at it. I brought up the body damage to Chris and that is when he became irritate. I just wanted to get to the bottom of the body damage (my insurance came out it is $500 worth of damage) It has been one lie after another your car will be fixed today when I asked about the rental but they had not even looked at. We are waiting on a part had not even looked at it. We saw video footage that your car was damaged when you brought it in but the restaurant next door said he never came over asking for footage. It goes on and on. Because I brought up the body damage and it made him mad he sent the issue to firestone claims. They denied my claim, stating that though there is evidence of the oil leaking out, the inspector believes it was because of running at a high temp with no coolant. So I called Galveston firestone and asked what they routinely do when they change the oil, it was specified to me that they check the coolant, so if the coolant really was the issue, why wasnt this noticed when I had my oil changed? Also it would not have been running so hot if it had oil in it. When I asked Chris about this he said they never check the coolant...it is just a web of lies, I just paid off this car and now it is totaled due to this Firestones negligence and unprofessionalism. I have no money to fix and insurance doesnt cover 3rd party negligence or mechanical failure. I live in Galveston and work in Houston, I have been without a car for almost a month now. This has been the most horrific experience. Unless you want to loose your car, DO NOT TAKE IT TO FIRESTONE. Not only is this Galveston shop terrible, dealing with claims on the corporate level is an absolute nightmare and wont cant anywhere if you do find yourself in this situation.
Prompt and courteous service. I had a nail in my tire that was too close to the sidewall to repair. They gave me a brand new tire, no questions asked and di it with professional and customer oriented service. Would recommend for any service needed.
I do not recommend going there. I was using firestone for a couple years, but they started to get very bad. I am done. They will waste your time, try to charge you unnecessarily and will not fix your car all the way.I was absolutely disappointed with my last visit, and will NEVER go back there again. They failed my state inspection 2 times and wasted about 5 hours of my time. I checked my car on 2 other places and they said my car has no issues. Passed inspection with no problem. They refused to give my money back or apologize for my wasted time.
My wife and I are here on vacation from North Texas. When I got to my destination and unpacked I got in my truck and noticed the tire sensor was on and that my tire had went flat in the driveway. I backed it up to level ground and put on the spare. I could not see any nails in the tire so I took it to Firestone because it was the closest shop. They said It was a fout hour wait so I left the tire. When I got back they showed where there must have been a nail and told me I drove to much on the tire while low on air so the tire could not be repaired. John also said he looked in the tire and saw pieces of tire. I did not believe him because I did not drive on it at all while it was low. He then offered to replace my tire for 278.00. I chose to drive to Texas City and have discount Tire take a look. They took the tire off and inspected it and found NO DAMAGE. THEY PLUGGED THE HOLE FOR FREE. Beware if you are from OUT OF TOWN because they will scam you if you are not careful.
Bad service, took my car in for one thing, they broke another!! Ill never go back!! What is a woman supposed to do??
Proceed with extreme caution. These guys will try to take advantage of people who are not knowledgeable of auto repair. These guys tried to turn a $200 brake job into a $1850 dollar brake repair. Basically they stated all 4 rotors, all 4 brake calipers, all 4 brake caliper mounting brackets, and all pads needed to be replaced . Shop manager even tried to tell me to consider this cost as a investment in a $70K truck. While its a nice truck its not even worth close to $30K. Had work done at reputable shop for $185 including turning front rotors. I truly hate to see a shop like this try to take advantage of travelers .
After trying another place that told me they didnt have the time or equipment. They did an excellent job and fast. Thanks.
I went end with a noise in my front wheels, they went above and beyond to find and help me with the problem. The best Firestone I have ever been to.
They did an awesome job fixing my front end of my cars issues and replaced the tires.
WAAAAAAY over priced and I dont believe honest! If you are a woman, I dont suggest going here. You will be told way more things wrong with your car, than what actually is.
Been taking my vehicles here for years, they have always treated us very well. Clint has always treated us fairly. When Ive made appointments in the past, theyve always got us in and out on time.
I came in for tires on July 16, 2019.The surly middle aged customer service intake man had the personality of a buzzard.By his responses, he seemed to take offense to questions I asked. He took 2 phone calls while I was standing in line. He tried to upsell me a 200.00, alignment even after I informedhim that I recently had one done. Ive given them enough chances. Im done with Firestone.
I had my car towed here on a Thursday morning after getting a huge nail in it. While I was there I also got an inspection. It took two hours for my tire to get patched and the inspection to be done. Everything seemed fine and the price wasnt bad, but for the last 6 months, that same patched tire has continued to lose air. Ive had to air up that specific tire every few weeks. I finally got a new tire because Firestone had originally patched it incorrectly and it was beyond repair after driving on it for months. I am just frustrated that a simple patch caused a lot of inconvenience and so many uses of my air compressor! I dont intend to return to this Firestone.
FIRESTONE (GALV.) replaced oxygen sensor on my 2005 Honda.Had to have sensor replaced to get State of Texas InspectionSticker. Another place told me my car needed 2 sensors replaced.Went back to Firestone and they said that I needed only 1 sensor.Defective sensor light on dash went out and I got my State Sticker. This time I was helped by a man called Daniel and he was veryhelpful and explained to me about my most recent problem withmy car. I will probably ask for him when I return. We all feel that the worlds against us when our cars start havingproblems. My advice to female and male is to check around andword-of-mouth on GALVESTON ISLAND is the best way to find honestand well-qualified mechanics..
Great customer service! Very friendly and helpful, they are a bit pricey than most places but a guarantee of great products.
The wait was what we were told, they found a small something in the tire but missed the bad/leaking valve stem, which when the tire was low again and we tried to fill it came out completely and cost $150.00 for road side assistance. We were 3 hours from home, in a rural coastal area on a Sunday, finding assistance was not easy.
I needed a tire for my car. They ordered the tires that I wanted I waited and when they came in they were completely wrong I ordered again they ordered the completely wrong tires again! I had to wait and I had to rent a car. They were very hard to deal with i even tried to pay somehow it did not get charged. They lost my lug key. When I went to go back the manager tried to say I scammed them An that the salesman would lose his job. The only one that should lose his job is the manager he was very rude an incompetent I will never go there again 0 stars
The guys are nice. Weekdays are the only days to go in as the weekend staff is different. I am very knowledgeable with vehicles and I come in knowing what im talking about. I only come in for alignments and wheel balancing as I do everything myself. My complaint is that the wait times here are absolutely horrendous. This is understandable but having wait two and a half hours after a scheduled appointment for them to pull in my vehicle for 5 minutes and tell me some bushings are too far gone to do an alignment? A simple preinspection at the scheduled time and I would have left, fixed the bushing and came back but I had to wait almost three hours to be denied service because they had cars in front of me. How can cars be scheduled in front of an appointment? I understand if theres a car on the rack that they are finishing up, but to put on another car, possibly a walk-in, in front of an appointment is absurd.otherwise, great location, great people, better than a lot of other firestones i have been to.
I had to wait almost 3 hours for an oil change . Restroom was out of order and of course they wanted to work more on my truck than what it really needed. I would rather drive to the Dickinson Store than the one in Galveston . Very disappointed with this store .
Dropped off my car at 7 AM for a simple oil change, with three people in front of me in line. I was promised that the service would be completed no later than noon. Thank God I got busy at lunch and could not pick it up... at 5:30 PM we were pulling into the drive way of the shop, they were just pulling my vehicle into the garage! 10+ hours for an oil change!? After complaining, the response to my argument was “We’ve been very busy today.” Really people!? I was fourth in line that morning and none of those people (or their vehicles) were there at 5:30 PM! After further complaints to the manager I was able to get a discount for $20.00I would not recommend these people to even fix some hotwheels!
Always helpful, not just at this Firestone, but any firestone Ive ever been to.
I had tires installed ( front 2) ... They charged me about $160 ( high in my opinion), but it included balancing and alignment. After I got the truck back, I realized they had installed the tires backwards ( design faces one way- back were facing out, front now face in) ... so I took it back... they flipped the tires so all 4 outside designs matched... which was good, but now the truck shimmied and shook at or above 40 MPH. WAYYY worse than before the new tires. So I took it to jon who said he would balance the tires. I took it back again and they fixed it correctly
Too bad zero stars isnt an option. My daughter, a college student in Galveston, had her battery light come on, so she stopped in to have them test the battery. She was told it would take a few minutes. Fast forward TWO HOURS later.....no decision on the battery, she was told they really didnt know one way or the other if it was bad, but they could run another test and replace the battery anyway for $240. She called me and I said get your keys and GTFO out of there. They still charged her $25. The nerve! Stay away from this place..... far, far away!
This Firestone crew cares about your car and dont try to force unnecessary jobs. Great service
They are recovering from labor desertion, so be patient, expect a wait, for great service from people who really care about you!
Was told that my vehicle couldn’t be aligned because it required more shims to fix than they could add.Thing is, on a 4WD s10, the front end doesn’t use shims for alignment, it’s aligned by rotating cam-shaped adjusters.I was also told they had no idea why it wasn’t so far out of alignment, after a very cursory inspection, I found the boot on my passenger’s side CV joint to be busted and the torsion bar (same side) to be undertorqued, causing the left side to sag significantly. If I can figure it out with naught but a manual and my eyes, their trained technicians should be more than capable of aligning my vehicle. The technicians are clearly inept, otherwise they would’ve told me what was wrong and know no the proper procedure for my truck’s alignment.
Great customer service. Pleasant, professional and thorough!!!
This place is so rude my grandma who has a hurt knee was trying to park closer to the building and this man who worked there came up to our car and said we have to move with a huge attitude and when we explained he said he didn’t care.😡.
Car stopped on me got it towed here. Said I needed a fuel line. Couldnt find one so they told me to find the part and theyll put it on. They gave me a part number. Found it within 2 days. Finally received it for Firestone to say this is the wrong part. WTH. Gave me another part number. I found it at a dealership in MN. They put it on and said it will start but dies after 15minutes. Said I needed new spark plugs we said put em on. Still wont stay running. We were then told the timing may have jumped. 5 minutes later got a call we need to have our car towed to the dealership or another mechanic. We go to pick up the car and theres all kinds of bull crap piled under the Hood, mind you it was propped open, and when we hooked it up to the tow all kinds of fluid is leaking from somewhere. The mechanic has already found that the rubber hose from the engine to the ac compressor has been broken hince the leaking. And we were told it looks like our Hood was left open during the rainstorm Monday. This is a horrible place and they are rude as hell. These mechanics are lazy and it seems they arent very knowledgeable.
