Its great to find a place that is so customer service oriented. Took my car in to NTB to have them look at a slow leak in one of my tires. They came back and said the problem was that the stem valve needed tightening - easy fix done in a couple of minutes. They verified that all of the tires had the right pressure and I was good to go. Manager refused to take any payment. I will definitely be coming back to NTB when its time for new tires and a battery. THANKS for the great service .

Great experience at 1470 US-70 (at McCormick St next to the Speedway gas station and directly across from Sherwin Williams paint store). Went for new tires and an oil change. FAST in-and-out service. The NTB employees were super-friendly with no up-selling or any drama...cost was considerably less than the toyota dealership and the manager even matched a competitor coupon. Definitely my new go-to location for vehicle service. Thank you!

I scheduled a basic oil change (conventional oil change) for a 2015 Nissan Rogue at 21.99 as advertised online. When I came in a “nice service man” told me I can’t use “conventional oil” on the car because it will damage the engine. The car’s owner manual doesn’t require the use of any special type of engine oil. This guy tried to sell me something I didn’t ask for or needed and didn’t care to honor his advertising. I told him I used “conventional oil” on the car for the last 5 years and walked out.

I usually have a good experience there. But I had a terrible experience recently. I went in to have breaks adjusted and brake fluid exchange. My breaks were working fine. When I left there my brakes were noisy and my car vibrated while I was driving. My breaks also were very loose. It was a scary experience. When I returned, they told me I needed a new master cylinder. They also said that my break pads were low and that I needed new rotors. I had this work done a few months ago. When I took my car to the dealer they said my break pads and rotors were fine. I felt that they were trying to get money from me by suggesting that I needed unnecessary repairs.

Carlos Pinto store manager was very polite and got my car in as soon as possible for an oil change and tire rotation. Explain to me every process that was going on. I recommend this store. My car felt like I was driving on a cloud after it came out of their service department.

I went to NTB and met Sam, who was very nice to me. He didnt try to sell me things I didnt need. In stead, he showed me ways to save money and was very honest about different products. He was so honest and caring, I booked my appointment for the next day. He remembered me and what I was there for. While he was showing me different tire options, another customer came up to us and said that Sam was so nice to him, he just had to come back. I usually dont have good reviews about car care companies, because I havent had great service, but come to NTB on South Saunders street and see Sam or the manager, Carlos. You will not regret it.

They are SO nice at this location!! Very accommodating. The manager is awesome, so is everyone else I had contact with at the Garner location. They get 10 stars in my opinion!!

Let me first start off and say one word HONESTY! Ive been retired from the auto field for 15 years. I am no longer able to repair cars like I use too. So going back to a shop was hard for me. But, let me tell you Freddy is your go to guy! If you want someone who knows cars inside and out. Thats your guy listen to what he has to say! I went in for an oil change and Freddy took me out to my car and explained everything. Told me what is recommended and explained it very well. Absolutely no pressure tactics, just straight facts. I approved the brake job and he took me out again and showed me the completed job. Explained my warranties etc.. What was most enjoyable was when another customer came in and she was in a bad spot. Freddy assured her the problem can be fixed and did so quickly! Most shops would have taken advantage of this. Freddy is a young man with old school values! The values of doing right and performing a quality job! I thought my generation was the last but happy to see Freddy and his team carry that tradition.

Terrible; After making an appointment over a week ago they tried to make me wait for two hours only to check my tire sensor and replacing it if it was bad, I went across the street to Mr Tire and was assisted within 3 min and only have to wait about 20 minutes without an appointment for my car to be worked on.I do not wait to spend money! I rather not spend it at all ☺️

Disappointment is an understatement. I had to call them numerous times after they promised to call me back. I ordered the tires over a week ago and still have not heard back from them after they told me it would arrive in 5 days. I would probably say it is one of the worst customer experience I have ever had. I would recommend training your employee Carlos on better follow up skills. NTB could do better!!

We dropped our car off to get 2 new tires. They found an issue with the lug nuts. They provided a solution to our issues at an $800 price tag. I called in advance for pricing, and spent 20 minutes inside the store going over options they I had to declined several times. Long story short, there is a tire shop across the street that has earned our business. I would NOT recommend NTB to anybody.

Got a flat tire while traveling and they were extremely helpful. Had the tire we needed in stock and moved expediently...and also said our dogs are beautiful. Thank you for your help.

Very unprofessional people at this location. Walked into this location and was greeted after all three individuals were done with there conversation. Once greeted I explained my issue, and the individual stated the systems were down. Not even a sorry for the inconvenience. It was almost like he was happy to tell me systems were down.

Saved money and time without spending half the day at the ford service department. Ill definitely be back for future service. Definitely wouldn’t recommend using this shop. Originally told me price of my wheel alignment was one price but then added in a random shop fee. I asked why am I playing for a shop fee if paying for services. Told the mechanics have to purchase their own tools and supplies fit the shop. Told them if the money is actually going to mechanic and can proof I’m fine with that. I’m not paying for them to have the shop. That’s the business they are in.After bringing the manager into the situation I was told something totally different. That my services were actually $125 but he put a discount in. Wouldn’t have even stepped in the building if the price was that originally not even if they were giving $25 off!! I understand everyone have to make money but the prices jumping all over the place between the time of services and checkout is ridiculous. Mike the manager in the situation was unhelpful and just wanted to tell me nothing could be done. To resolve the situation all he had to do was subtract $12.50 from the bill. Instead he is telling is what it is and quite completely different prices than everyone else. Tells me here are your keys thanks. Wanting to give the wheel alignment for free but not warrantying the services which in that case if I drove off and something happens it’s on me. That does help me and makes me the customer even more uncomfortable with the entire transaction. Told him I want to pay for services but just needs to take off the $12.50. He says no. Ended up paying for one time service when I was ready to pay for year worth but he didn’t want to resolve the $12.50 charge.Will not be giving my money to them ever again. Will make sure to give my money to small businesses.

Extremely helpful and nice. I got there about 5 minutes before closing due to a nail in my tire and the technician was the only guy there. They had actually closed early due to sewer maintenance outside. The technician opened up to get me a new tire. He replaced the tire and put the spare back in the trunk. He ended up staying 30 minutes after closing to get me on my way. Very grateful for his generosity

I took in my 2007 Nissan Pathfinder for an oil change and tire rotation. The technician was apparently poorly trained or had little experience. He worked more than 30 minutes trying to access the oil filter through a hole in the skid plate where it would have been much easier to remove the skid plate to access the the filter. He was finally able to remove the filter, but apparently he was not able to install it correctly because when he lowered the car and started it, oil cam gushing out. I had to go in the shop and tell him that oil was leaking out and to turn the car off. I also told him that it would have been better for him to remove the skid plate to access the filter.After turning the car off and raising up, oil was dripping profusely from under the vehicle. There must have been more than 3 quarts of oil on the floor. He finally did remove the skid plate to replace the filter and clean the oil from under the car. However, he never cleaned the oil off of the floor before replacing the filter again. There was a big mess of oil allover the floor. When I parked the car in my driveway, it continued to leak oil from where it collected on the chassis of the car.Although I made an appointment, it took me more than 2 hours to have the oil changed.

In an out last minute on a Saturday afternoon, alignment and tires. Had 4 good tires in stock for us, and they are all very friendly. Will shop here in the future. Good price for an alignment also

Been here three times and never on time or schedule. First time I bought my tires took about 6 hrs to put them on after was told only about two hours. Second time had an Eight thirty appointment for rotation and wound up leaving there around eleven thirty. Three hours for a tire rotation. This morning I had a ten oclock appointment and get there and told it would be an hour or more . Staff is great but never on time .

I am VERY pleased with the staff here and how quickly they get things done. I came here a few years ago and it was awful. I said I would never come back but gave them another try. The new manager and the staff here really made me feel welcome and that I was important. They told me what my car needed and what it didnt. They didnt try to get every penny out of me like other places; They were honest. I will be returning for oil changes, inspections, and all the other problems that come with any vehicle...I will not be going anywhere else. Thank you to the staff!! These people will not steal your money like other automotive shops do! Thank you for your honesty!

Took my wifes car here to get an oil change and paid for the most expensive type of oil change, full synthetic with mobile1, or so they said. The next day, the engine light came on and we have never had any problems with this car before. So, a month later, I changed the oil myself ( I usually do, but didnt feel like doing it the last time). I looked at the oil, after draining it from the car, and it had water in it or some other clear liquid that looked a lot like water. Whatever it was, it didnt have the same viscosity or color as the oil. Seriously?? What kind of oil did they use? They should have a sign that says oil may contain up to 10% water or other solutions on their front door. Anyways, as soon as i flushed out the old oil with a quart of actual full synthetic mobile one oil and completed the oil change, I turned on the car and the engine light turned off after five minutes. It has not turned back on since then. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because they actually filled the fluids to the correct levels, which mechanics hardly ever do. They always overfill or under fill the fluids. Do not recommend for oil changes at all.

Internet buyer beware! The services that you order on-line will very likely cost you more than advertised when you take your car for an appointment at the store. I ordered two tires, installation, an alignment, and a brake inspection and the web-site invoice was $502. When we got to the store we were charged $553 for the same products and services. We were told the installation was $15 more because the tires were hard to mount! They were low-profile. Well guess what - they knew that when I put the tires in my cart on the website. The correct mounting charge should have been applied at that time. And they charged us $30 for a brake inspection (even though they already had the tires and rims off the car) when their website says these brake inspections are free. I will never go back to the NTB in Garner again.

Had a great experience at ntb Garner. Ronny was very easy to talk to about my tire options and gave good and honest advise. I came in at 5:45 and even though they knew that they wouldnt be done by close (7pm) they still helped me out. I dont know the technicians name that did the work but he was very professional and didnt rush even though it was part quitting time. Ronny made the time go by fast and was very pleasant to be around while waiting for my tires to be installed. He seems like a stand up guy that would be help anyone out even if its after hours. Thanks for the good experience. I will be back and will referring friends to you.

If i could give them no STARS i would. Everytime i take my car in here something always wrong with it. You go for and oil change you need a new battery. You going for tires you need a tune-up. Especially with women. I have seen them do this with men but more so with women. I went in today of and oil change. The change was 19.99 here they come showing me my air fiter. So i said change it. They charge me 34.74 in labor. They are so full of it beware.

They have always been pleasant. We have cycled 5 different vehicles through their shop for lots of reasons. They have always beaten their competitors prices. They work quickly, usually the same day for any repair. It is an informative, low pressure sales system that I appreciate.

Very disappointed. I try to use local but these people are pathetic. I ordered tires for my jeep on Monday and asked if they could be put on by the end of the week, I was told, not a problem, I wanted the buy 2 get 2 free, sounded to good to be true, They dont tell you in the advertisement you have to buy an over priced tire warranty to get this offer. Anyways, I called to confirm my order on Thursday, They never heard of me. But was then told they could get the tires in 2 hours, price went up $100 ( no reason) I was extremely pressed for time so I agreed. 2 hours later I called. They forgot. Tires were not ordered. Buyers Beware. No Respect for your time.

Purchased a three year alignment package with them. Have gone to them for three alignments.All three alignments have been just a quick ‘toe-n-go’.The last time I went about two weeks ago was a joke. Literally didn’t touch any caster or camber (numbers were identical before and after alignment). Only thing changed was the toe.Steering wheel is extremely crooked to the right. Car pulls to the left.I wish I could upload the pictures I took of my alignment before and after.Terrible. Will never go to them again.

Had an oil change performed everything went fine. I had a tight timeline and they were able to work my vehicle into the already full schedule. I was told I need some new seals but the total was a little steep for me so Ill price shop around.

This was the most unpleasant service I have ever received. I went there for a simple NC Inspection after making an appointment 3 hours prior with an email confirmation only to come in and be pushed to the side after 2 other customers stating our website appointments dont communicate with the current store appointments, that if I would have called the store (which I wasnt ever instructed to do at the time of confirmation) they wouldve stated that I wouldnt have even had an appointment that day. I was calm the whole time and said I didnt understand. The employee, which I didnt catch his name (working the desk area Sunday, 04/29/2018 at 10am), stated that I just needed to have patience. I stated that I do and will, I even took a seat while waiting until he was done talking with 2 other customers. He continued to call me impatient. I said that I am being patient. He continued to say otherwise. I decided I said Ill just leave and schedule another time. Then he finally stated we can try to fit you in today and I said its no problem. I decided to take my business next door, got me in and finished in 15 minutes. I still dont understand what that employees issue was.

Told me one price then the price goes up $145 from the price that was given...then on top of that didnt get a call to tell me the price went up. I had to call them to see if my shocks were ready and thats when I find out the price went up...never again...me and my family had been going there since 2010 we wont be going back...it was Merchants Tire back then...did I forget to say I got there and dropped off of 8:30am and its 12:30pm and still not done do to a communication issue with the service manager and technician...stay away unless u have a whole day to spend there...

I made an appointment earlier in the day for 4:00pm for an oil change and tire rotation. When I show up for the appointment, I see my name on the board behind them for the appointment. The tech then tells me that they cannot see me today because I made my appointment online?? If I have an appointment and you can’t help me, couldn’t you at least call me before I waste my time driving there?? So unprofessional and I will not be back. You lost a loyal customer.

A couple of years ago, I would have agreed with most negative comments regarding poor service at this location. However, I can honestly say that since the arrival of the new manager Mark, I have been thoroughly pleased with the service and attention received. When theres is a problem Mark is eager to make things right and satisfy the customer. I am a very meticulous person and expect nothing short of the highest level of professionalism and customer service. And thus far I have been receiving the level of customer service I expect from this center.

I came in for a tire repair after discovering a leak caused by a screw. The service was outstanding! Friendly and quick! I will definitely be a repeat customer!!

My gf took her car in for an oil change, which Im not sure if they even did. I happened to check her oil a few days later and was already dark as the oil with 2500 miles. Go and look and its still the same oil filter from before. I should of taken pictures. Oh yea and they stripped the oil pan drain plug

The district manager Bruce is the best...I say again the best customer service rep I have ever dealt with. I had a very unorthodox situation with tires. He spent over 2 hrs trying to rectify and fix the situation. He personally handled my situation from start to finish and jumped in to help his workers, just to get me out of there. My situation was fixed and I was taken care of fast, professionally, and respectfully. He has made me a ntb customer for life. Thank you.

On January 21st we bought a vehicle in for a front end alignment during the inspection of the vehicle they discovered a wheel bearing was the issue at the time.. so I brought the vehicle back in the next day for service and an incident happened in the midst of removing the wheel bearing being frustrated and have gone through this before and had to literally make the company pay for damages to the vehicle the guys Mike and Chris NTB were very very patient calm and polite they gave me great service I was not agitated or man they took care of me very well and today I went in and had my front end alignment done at no cost as well as the technician was a chief fan and I am a patriot fan ironically the service turned out well thank you guys and I like to give a holler out Dorian he did very well taken care of my car a holler out to Mike for being calm and great customer service I expect to see him move up in the company thank you in NTB IN GARNER.

Stopped by to get a screw out of my tire. They patched it and put it back on. They charged me for balancing but my tire was not balanced. Everytime I drove over 40 mph my car shook. Had to go have it balanced properly. Now its good. Shouldnt take 2 trips to get it right.

I have been to Merchants Tire twice in the past 2 months and have had great experiences both times. The first time I took my husbands truck to be looked at because he had a bad vibration coming from the rear, and then I just recently took my car this week to have new tires put on. I have been able to walk in both times, without an appointment, and have my vehicles serviced without having an extra long wait time. The staff was nice, prompt, and professional. I dealt with Jake both times, and was not displeased by the service i received! Unlike other car shops that I have been to, I was not pressured into buying extra parts or having extra work done to either of my cars. I was very impressed with the service I received both times and will continue to go back, as well as recommend them to anyone looking for work to be done on their cars!

Had an appointment but car didnt get seen until 3 hrs later. Thats the only reason I deducted 1 star. Other than that....staff is great, service was great, very accommodating. I would def recommend NTB to my friends and family.

After completely blowing out a tire on 40 heading to the beach from West Virginia for a well-deserved and long-overdue vacation, and waiting for hours for AAA stranded on the side of the interstate (all of which was incredibly frustrating), our SUV was towed to NTB in Garner, where Ronnie and Carlos did everything that they could do to ensure that the tire was replaced right then, at the end of the business day before a holiday weekend, despite being busy and having many other customers and full work bays. They were kind, humorous and incredibly easy to deal with. Pricing was more than reasonable. Would recommend Garner NTB to anyone in eastern Wake County or should you ever find yourself stranded on that part of 40 and needing emergency tire work.

Over more than 10 years, Ive bought all my tires at NTB for my 4 vehicles. They offer very competitive deals and their service team are experts. Ronnie takes pride in supporting his community.

My experience today has been nothing short from a disaster! When i called was placed on hold for 10 minutes before i thought to hang up and try to call again. I called a second time only for Christopher to answer again immediately say can i put you on hold yet again, i hesitantly said okay. He then ssid how about i take your number and call you back. So i gave him my number and called 25 minutes later. We discussed the price and he said that i could come in at 1300 to have tires brought to the store. When i arrived christopher then gave me a $40 increased price from what he told me over the phone. He took my keys and told me to return @ 1630. I had my 2 year old with me so i called a family member to come and get us so the wait wouldnt be too bad on my 2 year old. Arrived at 1630 and my car was in the air with no tires on. I went inside @1700 since it closes at that time to see the progress. Christopher then said i would have to wait an additional hour and half. He stated that he told me that he would work me in at 1300, which was a lie. I would not recommend this place due to rudness, lies, and there lack of consideration of their customers. Its so disrespectful and insulting to have someone look you dead in the face and lie to you.

After trying to charge me over $600 when the online price said itd be $360 (buyer be warned of the old bait and switch) they realized they didnt have 2 of the tires I needed in stock. Rather than ask if Id be able to wait for an extra hour while they went to another store to get one, they just left my car hanging When I finally asked.. Hey why has my car been in the air for 45 minutes I was finally told what was happening.Poor customer service. No regard for other peoples time. They apologized, but offered nothing in return for my time, including my military discount, which they didnt give me.Obviously, I will not be back.

I have been a customer of Merchants for years. They have provided great service to many vehicles. Their branding/stores have changed in the last year and I assume new management as well. During the last year or so, the service has gotten worse. Not calling when service is complete, or when a part is needed. Not having the right technicians available for the job. (No Inspection Tech) All of the techs that seem knowledgeable have left and I am concerned that my car may not be safe to drive. I will be taking all of my business elsewhere.

Service has become absolutely horrible with new change of management. They do not guarantee the work that they do. They tell you work is done that really was not done at all. And trying to get them to honor warranties on items that have warranties is an absolute joke

I dropped a RV rim & tire off to have it replaced - BF Goodrich. When I came back to pick up the tire/rim I waited patiently to pay. I stood near the front counter while Rep #1 waited on a lady. After 15 minutes Rep #2 (Mike, bald) walked in and made a phone call (5 mins). He then answered the phone for the person on hold (5 mins). He then made a phone call and spoke with someone about Golf cart batteries. He ended the last conversation by saying that he would call the customer and let him know what he found out (5-10 mins). He actually waited on a customer that was not in the place of business, while I waited. Rep #1 went to the back and told Mike (bearded), that I was there. Mike ( bearded) walked away. Rep #1 cashed me out in about 3-4 minutes. Mike (bearded) was supposed to help me with a claim to BF Goodrich. Apparently, he didn’t want to follow up.

I have been using this location of Merchants since the 90s and had been, generally, very satisfied. However, in the past 2 or so years their customer service has gone from very good to merely adequate to unacceptable. Inquiries not me with vague monosyllables are met with outright petulance. Communication between employees seems as poor as communication with the customers. Taking my business elsewhere.

While all of the other places in the area only made excuses as to why their guys, whom were mostly standing around doing nothing, as to why the couldnt help me, because of being over booked, and I could leave the car and maybe they could get to it in the next couple of days, NTB had great customer service, took great care of me and went above and beyond to fix my problem even though they had a full day booked as well. Asked rep to check alignment on my race car and I would decide what to do after the results (was trying to diagnose a possible suspension/alignment problem).Signed no paperwork and they took my key and said it would be about an hour.Hour later they said it was all done.They had done the alignment (instead of just checking it) without consulting me and without me signing any paperwork and set the car to factory specs instead of the racing specs I would have provided.I also lost the only piece of evidence in trying to troubleshoot my tire wear problem (brand new tires destroyed with under 3 hours track time on them).When I asked about a printout of the before alignment specs the rep said the printer was broken. When asked if they could e-mail me the alignment readout or pull it up on a monitor they said it was gone.When the tech working on the car was asked what the before alignment was he couldnt remember.Called their district manager who was only willing to offer to reset my alignment to the specs I provided (I already had a 3 year plan so he wasnt offering me anything).I own 4 cars and will never be bringing any of them to any Merchants Tire & Auto again.

Good prices, great tires and the staff is very helpful, friendly and easy to talk to. There are a couple of restaurants nearby to hang out at while waiting.

Went here right before the recent snow to get four new tires and alignment and it was a great experience.If you have been burned here before or you are just looking at the bad reviews I dont know what to tell you except for check it out again. I wouldnt hesitate to return and recommend people to this location.

Tuesday before a trip to the beach i got my tires rotated, balanced and alignment. On the way to the beach my car was vibrating in the steering wheel pretty bad. I had no such issue before going it, but it was time for the rotate and balance. I called once I returned to get them to fix the problem. i was told they had no openings and after waiting for a manager for 15 minutes I just hung up. I will be going to another location from now on.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! They lie and are extremely overpriced. I came in for a tire that had a nail and to also check my brakes. They came back with $1100 of repairs/labor/recommendations (excluding tire patch). I got out of there as soon as I could! They said my brakes were at 2MM in the front - I took my car to Honda instead who told me my brakes are at 7MM and do not need to be replaced yet. NTB told me my shocks were leaking, $260 replacement, Honda checked and confirmed they were not leaking, no issues there. NTB also told me I should replace my spark plugs for $248 based on my mileage, but I had those replaced 1 year prior for $156 at Honda.

I made an appointment for an inspection. I left my car there and received a call a couple of hours later that everything passed except for a rack and pinion problem that would cost $1,214.85!!! I said that I’d pick it up, feeling uncomfortable with this “problem” that they found. I took it to another business and they said there was nothing to repair and the inspection was completed. I would like to think it was an honest mistake but I will not chance doing business there again.

As a woman Ive always felt taken advantage of at automechanics/ tire shops ECT...but this place is honest, upfront and provided great service.

Came and got an oil change and tires rotated months back and they did not tighten lugs on wheels and then a noise popped up as I was driving off... The employee then questioned me and spit his dip out and wiped his saliva all over his hands before asking for my keys

Howard and his team has given me exceptional customer service and exceptional quality of service each and every time I visit. I would have to be in a desperate state and can’t get to these guys before I let anyone else touch my car.
