This restaurant delivers above and beyond. I came in and had an issue with water leaking from an A/C unit. Not only was it resolved immediately, but the manager made sure that we were well taken care of through our dining experience. The food was so good that my wife and I are already planning a trip back to the beach to enjoy this hidden, laid-back gem. Yall have definitely given me a reason to smile through this hurricane season. When you go, try the firecracker shrimp and the calamari. Theyre both excellent choices!Edit: literally went back again already and the food the second time was great as well. Also the bathroom was very well kept to say that it was halfway through a dinner service. Whether you stop in Gulfport for a meal or are a local looking for a great place to put on a regular rotation, this is it!
Restaurant is a little dated but it has a very large menu. Service was solid and food although not Exceptional was definitely Good. The overall cost of the meal was very typical so not overpriced for the entrees especially with the size of the portions. Each of the appetizers were pretty small based on price so an exact opposite issue. I would recommend
Wouldve given 5 stars but I have been contemplating this meal for 7 years since my husband and i got married. I took away one star bc I bit into my ceaser salad and literally had to spit it back out onto the plate bc their was no napkins at our table. The salad taste like 3 day old fishing bait smells! 🤢🤢🤢 It was horrible. We figured it must have been sitting next to seafood and it soaked it in. Our waitress came back around and I told her how it tastes and she said Yes bc we put anchovie juice in our house made ceaser dressing! 🥴🤮 Like whyyyyy???? Thats disgusting! My husband and I have never eaten anywhere that had done this. Anyway.. we ordered fried mozzarella with marinara it was really good!! And I ordered fried Lasagna and he ordered shrimp and grits. Both of our on trays was great. Next time although, I will ask for my lasagna to be on a separate plate rather than the top of a bed of watery marinara and loads of really good cheese to get soggy. I dont like that. Lol. All in all. They have a large menu. Good prices and a chill atmosphere on the beach. Well be back again Im sure.
Bonjorno! I am Johann from Salute, Italy and I must say that this is the best italian restaurant I have ever been to! My late nana taught me the secrets of rolling the pasta and not since she passed have I tasted such beautiful, perfect ravioli. I even went to the kitchen to see if she was back there! It is a beautiful restaurant with beautiful people in a beautiful town and I invite all Americanos that have been to my hometown of Salute, Italy to stop by there and compare it to any of our world-famous restaurants. Allore! Arrivederci!
Took my mom here for her birthday! She loves this place, since there are so many delicious healthy seafood to pick from. We had the same waiter, Bryce, from when I took my mom for Mother’s Day. He remembered us when we came during this trip. He is very professional and I was glad to have him again! Food was awesome, and we had a wonderful day! Thank you all for making this a pleasant visit! We will be returning again for sure!
Glad we made a reservation for early in the evening as the restaurant got full and very loud very quickly...was difficult to even hear the evenings entertainer. Was disappointed to find they were out of BOTH classic Italian wines by 6 p.m on a Friday night after only 1 glass served...and our server never brought me my requested ice tea so we cashed out and left...gave our seats to the MANY folks waiting. Added the pesto from the bread and parmesan they brought to the table to my pasta to give it more flavor and took it home. Unfortunately quite disappointing...
I have waited so long to go here. Our apps (eggplant fries and fried mozzarella $8 each) were excellent. The nice warm bread brought to the table with the creamy pesto was excellent. Onto the main courses. I ordered the seafood grilled special which was a crabcake, grilled and blackened shrimp and scallops ($24 and to me way overpriced for the portions). The shrimp were barely what I consider a medium sized shrimp. The scallops were the same as I run into all over the coast too undercooked for my taste. A little too translucent in the center. I mentioned it to the waiter who indicated he was sorry and walked away. He never said it but he was ordering a new order more well done, which actually came to me a little more brown on the outside but still very undercooked. Also these were supposed to be sea scallops but they were about 1/2 the size of the same scallops I buy and cook at home. The crab cake was good but it didnt make up for the cost of this dish. It came served with sliced zucchini and yellow squash with shredded carrot. Definitely did not add to this dish. My friend ordered the grilled flounder with Mediterranean sauce ($19). The flounder portion was very small and she felt it was just not very flavorful. I didnt try it so I cant attest to it. Also served with with the same vegetables as my dish. Our waiter apologized for my underwhelming scallops and asked me to give it another try. Unfortunately, Im a little doubtful that it would end up any better but if I do come back Im sticking with apps. I find the menu very overpriced for locals. It might be fine for our visitors but not for those that make the wages we do in this area.
No wait for us on a Friday night at 6pm for a party 5. Restaurant was clean, gives you an upscale feeling with a casual vibe. Menu is impressively vast. Value is great for the quality, Tour of Salute, pizza, shrimp, were excellent. The fried mozzarella appetizer were my kids favorite app in a long time. Only negative was my daughter steak was over cooked. For 31.00 the steak at least should have been the right temp. Would have been 5 stars if not for that. But if you want Italian and seafood this is the place.
Great location, we were able to walk from our hotel. Got seated right away on a busy Saturday. The environment is fun and there was live music. Our waiter was pretty busy but was able to check on us. The food was ok, a couple of the dishes needed the noodles drained a little better and maybe some additional seasonings would be helpful. The manager did come check on us, which was nice. We also ordered a Pinot and we were unsure if we got the correct wine. Other than that it was a good experience and we would return for lunch or brunch in the future.
We went for Sunday Brunch and it was absolutely delicious! We had mimosas which were made very well. Got the salmon meal and the porch loin and crab cake meal off the brunch menu. Also had a nice treat after- the lava cake. Our service was spectacular. All the staff was great actually. We have been there before and always have had great service. The gentleman we had today was very on point. Jason is also awesome. Oh and there was live jazz singer there for brunch time and she was very good as well! Definitely recommend. Nice scenery too

Our server at lunch yesterday was exceptional. This was our first visit. We started off with a half order,, which was plenty, of calamari. It was light and airy although mostly breading. The pesto served with the bread was amazing. I had the special she suggested of smoked salmon and shrimp scampi over zoodles. I liked it except for the salmon seemed overly smoky-almost like an artificial smoke-that was overwhelming. Everyone else ordered of the lunch menu and thought the food was good, but not to rave about. We will visit again.
This restuarant was right across the street from the beach, they had a real bartenders and they all made great whiskey sours and margaritas. We also got plenty of food and everything was great. They have a bar area and a restuarant. Even though it was packed, we still had space and it was rather quite for a full bar. Definitely my favorite restuarant in Gulfport.
Place was freezing inside first off. Our waitress was terrific. We didnt have any of the water breathing options that seemed to be the main specialities but what we had was okay.
Service was superb! Apps were out quick and flavorful. Bread at the table with fresh pesto was soooo good. We had the fried calamari, steak (in gravy) and garlic cheese bread. Dinner was chicken marsala, chicken alfredo, Mahi with crabcake (crabcake was best in my life-done perfectly) and spaghetti.
Outstanding service and food. Definitely can tell their is an enjoyment of not only working there, but owning this establishment. Chef/ owner definitely has put his heart into this place and hie employees deliver! Well worth a visit for not only Italian lovers, but those seeking a taste of creole food. Prices are not that bad either!
Salute is a wonderful restaurant to go to when you want to enjoy some time with friends or family. The food is particularly consistent and the drinks are always made well. However, I noticed that the restaurant was packed like a can of sardines. Regardless of getting used to not having to situate yourself 6 feet from someone, this place was hard to walk around in. The live band was at the front of the building in the middle of the walkway and it is definitely not a quaint date kind of environment. It used to be. The menu is huge! Which is not always a good thing, because to much goes into production of the dish rather than perfecting it. Not to say it wasnt a great meal, but the in house chef doesnt really mix it up from the couple of times Ive been there over the last three years. With salutes you get what you get. I would say its not that bad! But also, i dont believe the hype to be particularly accurate. I hope that the establishment sees more of their potential especially with a chef who is well known in our community.
I just wanted to say that even though it was busy, and we sat outside, our server Robin took very good care of me and my sister. We were so pleased with the service!! I will definitely recommend this restaurant to the rest of my family and friends!
Sorry, I didn’t take a photo! We got there a little after noon and we were welcomed in and were seated promptly. We always read the menu, but we always ask what the special of the day is. We had a crab cake on top of linguini and shrimp. We always enjoy the pesto and fresh bread. I couldn’t finish mine so we took it home and had it for dinner. It was delightful!!
Went in for lunch with my girlfriend and it was amazing!!! I had the chicken and broccoli Alfredo and my girlfriend had a crawfish and shrimp ravioli meal, both were delicious. Its great when the Alfredo sauce tastes like its seasoned. It was fresh and the sweet tea was good. I didnt really care too much for the gumbo, but it wasnt bad. We will most definitely be back. Our waitress was super awesome too.
Pleasantly surprised that they have legs and rings calamari. Thats rare for me to find down here and was very excited to order. A full appetizer is a meal in itself. A very large bowl. It was absolutely delicious. They also gave me 10% off my bill for military (be sure to tip your servers that 10% plus your normal tip. They deserve it!). I only deducted one star because of the lunch seafood manicotti. My noodles were slightly overcooked and overfilled. The cream sauce, while very tasty, was too heavy. I know people like their food drowned in sauce but I wish I knew ahead of time to ask for them to go easy/light.
Hostess spilt an entire pitcher of water over the back of our heads. Instead of apologizing she ran off. We were offered nothing, not even a towel or napkins. We ran into a sweet waitress in the bathroom that ran and got ot us towels when she heard us talking about it. We sat at our table soaking wet and freezing the rest of the night.. Terrible birthday experience. This place used to have top notch service from front door to the table. Not the case anymore except that sweethearted waitress that overheard us talking. The food was good even if we had to eat it soaking wet.
The food was excellent and the atmosphere was very cozy. We sat outside, it was cloudy and not too hot. The firecracker shrimp tacos were very flavorful and mild, nowhere near as spicy as I expected. The spaghetti with meatballs was a very classic dish as I would have expected it to taste. We were very happy with this dining experience. Our waiter was extremely nice and helpful!
Nice, quiet patio with landscaping and gulf views. I enjoyed the lasagna well enough, but steer away from the pizza: crust needed salt, pizza wasn’t crisp, cheese wasn’t golden, and there was too much cheese.
Amazing food! Great for date night.

Went with grandparents to eat after ordering a new phone. Food was amazing l, the staff were kind, and the atmosphere seemed very cheerful. I would definitely visit again.
I havent made it in yet but so far I have waited an Hour and a half to be seated a party of 7 with reservations. Not impressed so far. Food was always good that I have had from here but not worth this wait at all. I could have travelled to Aromas in Diamondhead and ordered a full course meal eaten and been home by now and food is as good or better. Sorry but thats how I see it. They either need more help or something here.
I actually really enjoyed eating at Salutes until I slipped on their floor and they made me feel like I was to blame for it. Had my 40th birthday dinner there in the Tower room. The food and service was great until the end. A few of us had been slipping on the floor all night, and even mentioned it to the waiter. After being there for over 3 hours and only having 2 alcoholic beverages I finally slipped and fell in the bar area. I was not even tipsy. Not one server stopped to see if I was ok. Two couples dining eventually offered to help me up off the floor. (I was in severe pain) Anyway, as a courtesy I wanted to let the manager know that the floor was slippery. The hostess got the manager, Skye, for me and I told her what happened. Skye didn’t seem overly concerned and got me an “ice pack” for one of my knees that was already bruising. The ice pack is just a napkin with ice in it taped. It started pouring water within 5 minutes. As I’m standing outside telling my family what happened, my niece said, “oh that was you they were talking about? I heard them talking about there is a lady out front claiming she fell.” I’m not the type to cause any trouble or make false claims. Being that I’ve had several knee surgeries I decided I had better get an accident report since they wanted to act like that. As I am getting the accident report we are being glared at by a couple of the waitresses. Skye tells me they have to watch the cameras and the general manager or owner will be in touch. I call the next day and let Skye know I was going to get X-rays because I was still in pain. She told me to keep all records and bills and her manager would be in touch. I have called a few times since with no return calls and have never heard from a general manager or the owner. They could at least refund me the room cost that I paid. It still wouldn’t cover my medical costs.
Everything tasted good but wasnt hot. Servings were small for the steep prices. I got a meal that contained 1 crab cake, 1 skewer of 5 shrimp, and one skewer of 5 tiny bay scallops. It came with one side; I got grilled squash. It was $24. Nothing was really hot. Just lukewarm. IT HELPS waitress was constantly forgetting things. We had to remind her several times what we ordered. Food and drinks came out randomly. My glass of wine came out during my meal. She never wrote anything down so Im not sure what was happening. I had high expectations.
I love Salute. It is one of my favorites. I love the Salmon and Grilled shrimp the best. They have a great and reasonably priced lunch menu as well!Salute also does some great specials. The food is consistently great!
Decent chicken fettuccini Alfredo, but nothing to write home about. They had trivia which was cool and it appeared maybe a decent beer/wine selection. Affordable comparatively to other things in the area.

My husband and I had dinner here last night. The atmosphere was nice and the food was pretty good. We shared an order of Panned Cheese Ravioli, I had the Chicken Salute Pasta and my husband had Grilled Salmon and Shrimp and with Vegetables. Our server David was very attentive and offered great service.

My food was good.How can. You mess up spaghetti and meatballs. On the other had my partners was not to her liking.However, because the waiter suggested it, they were gracious enough to remove the item.The bartender, created an awesome drink for my partner.Thank you for a pleasant experience.We will be back.

Food was great. They have a large selection to choose from. Almost overwhelmingly so almost. The service was amazing always checking in on you. Not a huge wait either and the prices werent too bad for the quality of food
Very clean and friendly environment! The only reason Im not giving a 5 star is because 1. the mens bathroom doesnt have a changing table and 2. the tip was already added to the check. I know I can tip more than whats on the ticket. However, its slightly annoying. The first time we went we were double charged... So just a few fixable issues. Now the food, the food is really good. The cheese sticks are 100% my favorite and the #1 appetizer!! You have to try if you do go!

We were told it was a 30 minute wait around 6 and then 6:30 came and then 7 came so after talking with the ill knowledged staff they said they were working to get a table even though there were many tables open, a few other patrons were talking with the staff for the same reason at the same time as well. Will not go back and will not recommended.

Excellent food and service. We (in our office) ordered lunches for pick up. The order was ready as promised, the server was very friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed the Mediterranean Shrimp Salad. DELICIOUS. Everyone in the office enjoyed their orders. I will definitely bring my family for lunch/dinner.

Nice relaxing atmosphere. Staff was friendly & laid back. We were tired from a day at the beach & didnt feel rushed. Nice wine selection. Our waitress Emily was knowledgeable of the menu items. We started with fried raviolis, I didnt get a pic because my son tore into them as soon as they hit the table! Complimentary bread is served with a creamy basil pesto on the side. Shrimp & grits was on my checklist for vacation & they offer it! The dish was a little different than Ive had in the past but was good. As you can see in the picture the grits are made into cakes, this was new for me. Lots of flavor, very rich & filling. My sons pasta dish was full of shrimp, crab & andoulle sausage. Very flavorful as well. All in all good experience. Thanks Salute!

Very good meal with amazing service. Had a party of 8 and even though the restaurant was busy the waiter was very invested in every table and provided everything needed with some comic relief on top. Food was plated very well and though smaller portions it was the perfect size and very rich and packed. We wanted to get desert but buy the time we made it that far we were stuffed.Only in town for a few weeks and did some research before going. VERY worth the drive and wait from the base area.

We ordered takeout from here tonight. They said 20 minutes & it was ready in 20 minutes!I had the Fettuccine with Crab Sauce & a Lump Crab Cake. It was excellent.My wife had the Grilled Seafood Plate, with Grilled Veggies & she thought it too was excellent.As a guest of the Courtyard by Marriott, with the room key, we got a half order of Cheese Ravioli, with a Cream Marinara Sauce, that was really good.The food came with Warm Bread & I believe Basil Butter or some kind of Basil sauce for my wife’s dinner? We’re not sure, but it had a good flavor.The Bread was okay, but not a lot flavor, without the Basil Butter or the Creamy Marinara Sauce.Overall, everything was excellent. They show a very interesting Sunday Brunch Menu, which we will try, if we don’t find something that looks even better by then.

Saturday was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I was excited to try it after hearing people say it was good. The tini Rita was absolutely horrible there was literally salt poured at the bottom of the glass and our drink was warm. My husband ordered surf and turf filet well done and it was rare. Our waiter was nice he offered to take the drinks off our ticket after seeing what was given to us. In the middle of the waitresses wrapping silverware two decided to sit in the booth behind us and give one of the other a massage. I thought this was an upscale restaurant oh was I fooled. I understand nobody wants to work so a lot of companies are just taking what they can get but some people aren’t worth hiring if this is how they will represent your business. I was really expecting something great especially when I was told the chef received an award. Guess it was an off night.

Excellent experience and food! Our server was friendly and helpful on choosing dishes. The crab cake Alfredo was amazing, hands down best Alfredo I’ve had. My husband had the tour de salute and it was also amazing! Will be recommending this place to friends and family and definitely stopping by on future Gulfport visits.

Outstanding. I dont give many 5 star reviews. This place is one of the best Ive been to. We have eaten here 4 times and it is consistently great. It is Italian food mixed with a taste of the Gulf Coast.
My sisters and I brought my dad out to eat for his birthday. He loves Italian food. It was delicious. And our waiter Mr Brice was excellent. I will be back.
We stumbled upon this restaurant after visiting the aquarium and it was a great surprise. I’ll start by adding we’re a gluten free family and their cauliflower crust pizza was one of the best pizzas we’ve had in a long time. My daughter ordered the special of the day which had shrimp and salmon over zucchini noddles instead of regular noodles. Our food was delicious and our server was very attentive and super nice! She even brought a gluten free chocolate cake for my daughter since it was her birthday! We just moved to the area two weeks ago and can’t wait to go back to this restaurant! Super delicious! Thank you for offering so many gluten free options.
Gorgeous restaurant, cool environment. Everything was prepared really well for my grandfather’s 75th birthday. Mimosas were wonderful, food was amazing! Definitely get the fried mozzarella wedges - they were huge!
