This place is amazing. The bagels are delicious and fresh. There are such great food options. The home fries are incredible. You cant get a better bagel! Sometimes the place is crowded, but the line tends to move quickly. I would recommend this place to anyone. The food is exactly what you think of when you think of a real New Jersey breakfast sandwich. I love coming here and will always love breakfast. The food has never disappointed me.

My fave bagel place in town, but lately i’ve been getting egg shell bits in my egg and cheese…. not good. other than that very good.

This place has gone down hill, badly.Bagels are pretty good but thats where it ends.Quality has taken a nose dive too, Ordered a few things for people at work, basic stuff, egg salad on toast and a few egg sandwiches. Our manger threw her egg salad in the trash as it had egg shells in it. The bacon on the egg sandwiches tasted like cold cardboard and was just as tough so threw mine out as well. Lunch time wasted as of 1pm they cleaning to get out early and only one person attending customers, that coupled with their banking hours makes this a poor choice, especially if you value your time.

Meh… they’re not bad they’re not great. Inside is a little dingy. Staff is hectic on a busy day. I’ve had much better bagels, but if you are just hungry and want a sandwich, it’s an easy stop in the area

Always serve fresh delicious food. Bagels are great. Very generously made items. I always get a sesame bagel with cheese and pork roll (ok, ok Taylor Ham!) Yummy baked goods available too

Asked for Mayo on my ham sandwich. I watched the girl take the top off the mayonnaise squeeze bottle put her finger on the top and rub ony sandwich. So no there was no mayo on my sandwich. Not happy came here for lunch. She was very slow looked confused. Maybe she was new but, the mayo thing not good. Usually this is a great place for lunch or breakfast. But, Im not letting her wait on me in the future.

Worst bagel experience ever... I asked for a simple everything bagel with cream cheese toasted. The bagel was not hot and the girl there added two large spoonfuls of cream cheese on my bagel. She made it seem like I ordered a cream cheese sandwich instead of a bagel with cream cheese. Very disappointing :(

Good bagels most of the time but I’ve never seen any other deli pre cook the meat is it really that hard to make fresh food (I’m going to start asking g for it fresh shouldn’t have to)

We stop by Hot Bagels Abroad every Sunday after church. Great bagels and muffins! My husband likes their breakfast sandwiches.Very busy place, but the wait staff is efficient and service is quick.

Stopped in today for the first time. I received a welcome greeting, my order was taken quickly and my order was ready quick. Price was lower than I usually pay at other establishments. The store is very clean. My bagel was really good. When I am in the area I will be back. Highly recommend

There hasnt been one time Ive gone here and they got my order right....so I stopped going...today I decided to give it another try...I was happy to see the original crew and figured they would get my order right I mean taylor Ham and egg with ketchup and pepper isnt that hard....the lady wrote it down and sure enough no ketchup or pepper.....and it wasnt busy!!!!!.....unbelievable

Just ordered a bacon, scrambled egg with cheese on a toasted buttered roll with salt pepper ketchup. Easy enough sandwich right!? No wrong. You could only imagine the disappointment when I bit into a dry sandwhich. I opened the sandwich no condiments, I looked into the bag no condiments. Its super annoying to not get what you ordered. Ive literally got one correct order the hand full of times Ive eaten here. Guess I need to begin looking for a better spot.The 2-stars is only because they seem to give a reasonable amount of meat on the sandwich.Signed: New in town

So possibly the worst bagel place around. Ordered a Taylor ham, egg, pepper and ketchup on egg bagel. I think it took her a total of 3 minutes to make the sandwich. Watched her put ketchup on bagel slap on some stuff and cut it. Is the meat and eggs precooked to make sandwiches faster? I was the only person in there so it would have been nice and more sanitary for a Hot sandwich. Also the bagel was very hard. Oh and seriously, you charge an extra 4% now due to Covid, what a joke!

The bagels are honestly not worth it. the service is awful and they are not following CDC guidelines. when employees are coughing on my food during a pandemic and wearing their mask under my nose, it’s not worth it. the bagels are average on a good day. i will never be returning.

I am beyond disappointed. A young girl took my order and wrote the whole thing down. We waited twenty minutes while she walked around and talked to everyone instead of working. She handled the food with bare hands after handling the register. My boyfriend ordered a bagel with Taylor ham and egg. His sanwich had two pieces of taylor ham that were cold. I ordered a sandwich off the board. She gave me the wrong salad with the sandwich, the wrong bread on the sandwich, she did not heat the sandwich and gave a piece of chicken so small it only fit on one side of the sandwich. So basically I got the completely wrong order from a girl who cares nothing for customer service. The owner needs to filter through the people he hires.

I went for a Taylor ham egg and chz they told me they couldn’t make a eggs bc the grill was off. If they close at 2pm why they turned everything off at 1:20??

I have been here so many times this past year, not only have my orders been wrong (I’m vegetarian I cannot have meat added to my food) they have put bacon. Renee is rude and disrespectful. I will not be returning. I would advise others to bring their businesses elsewhere.

This was a one of those places where they get annoyed when you don’t know exactly what you want when you get to the counter so if you have never been here before, take the time to determine exactly what you want before ordering, although I suspect they may get annoyed at this as well.I ordered 3 sandwiches and 6 bagels and got 2 sandwiches and 5 bagels. I witnessed them make my 3 sandwiches but one got lost somehow on the way to my bag. Moral of the story, ask the kid behind the counter taking your order to read it back and then check everything in the bag before you leave. Open up the wrappers on everything as well since many of the reviews here state that the sandwiches were completely wrong.The bagels were just ok. The French toast bagel was very good but the marbled rye and plain bagels were over cooked. The coffee was not good either.

Nov 2020I visited the bagel shop this morning and was horrified with the food handling that had taken place. I witnessed someone come in off the street and walk behind the counter (without washing hands) help themselves to a coffee and bare-handed reach into the bagel basket and got a bagel. Additionally, I watched the counter staff handle food bare-handed as well. I had plenty of time to witness many more improper food handling techniques since we had to wait 30 minutes for bagels to be cooked. I spoke with the owner Pat to let him know what was going on and he said absolutely nothing as I told him we would never visit again. I also asked him if he was aware that we are in the middle of a pandemic (COVID-19). He said he knew. I only give them one star because I have to give them something in order to post this review. I strongly suggest you find another bagel shop.

The bagels, omelets and sandwiches are really good, but their inability to get orders correct is infuriating. More than half the time, they hand me my bag and I have to dig through and find that they messed something up. I reached the end of my rope a few weeks ago when I called in an order, went to go pick it up and found it never was made.

Order ahead was told another Jill picked up my order. Waited for my order to be over charged. Literally bought the same thing plus one extra sandwich the day before but got charged more today? They should’ve done something for giving my order away to “another Jill”. Then I get home where I got charged for extra bacon to not have extra bacon. I even took a picture. This was my worst experience there enough to make me not go back and I’ve been going here for years.

Hot bagels more like hot mess. They need a way of order there. With pick up orders and people ordering on house. I watched them not have 3 different customer orders that were call ahead. One girl even offered to write her order out for them again. Kids dropping the food left and right bumping into each other the dishwasher not wearing a mask playing with his man bun the whole time. Used to be super good place now just a mess.

They have the BEST bagels, when Im here to visit I always take back home to Florida 2 dozen bagels with me there arent any good bagel places there...😞 LOOOVE the Taylor ham,egg and cheese sandwich on a everything bagel..!!

The bagels are very good but every time you order a sandwich it’s not correct. Whether it’s missing condiments or the wrong meat or the bagel wasn’t toasted it’s always something.

If you ever feel like mixing breakfast dining with the odds of a casino game, you should definitely check out Hot Bagels. I’ve given this place many chances because to their credit, the bagels are pretty decent. Unfortunately, the chances of me winning the power ball seem to be higher than getting the food to match my order here. Today I ordered a bacon and cheese, the employee read it back to me, on the bag it said bacon and cheese on an onion bagel. Filled with joy that maybe they finally have a system down to get my order correct, I open my bfast sandwich to find an onion bagel...with ROAST BEEF and cheese. Truthfully, I don’t even get how that’s possible. If they ever figure out a way to translate my words into the actual food I’m buying, would try again.

Dropped in to grab a dozen bagels and they were just about to close. They told me they would be thrown out at the end of the day and gave me the bagels for free. During this tough time its greatly appreciated. Especially by a single mom! You have a customer for life!!

Great bagels and great staff!

Very dissapointed!! I ordered a sub sandwich to go today with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, vinegar & mayo. There was 2 slices of cheese on it, a few little strands of lettuce and 3 small slices of onion and barely any vinegar and no oil at all!! And for all that it was $8! Their food quality has gone way down!! I wont be going back.

The food was pretty good, when they got it right. They constantly screw up the orders and then refuse to fix or refund it.

Home fries and toast came out just as I was finishing my omelette. Pepper in shaker was in powder form. Employees were eating behind the counter. Customer service was unsatisfactory.

Never toasts anything neither do they make anything correctly when asked. Decent bagels but If you go in and order something chances are they will make it right 50% of the time. If you call in an order expect your order to be completely wrong.

Used to have higher expectations for this place but the service is extremely tankingHard to justify coming over for something that takes forever to be provided

This place takes all the left over bagels and throws them in the trash. When asked if they could be taken to the shelter for the Homeless the establishment would rather dump them than give them perfectly good food. How do I know this I bought some and watched in horror as two garbage bags of Bagels were dumped. I saw the bagels in the bags.I met a guy who asked to take the bagels and the owner wouldnt give him them and not because of the laws but because he didnt want too. So hed rather waste it then give to people who could use it.So now I get a message from this establishment to take down my review. I cant do that as I saw his staff throwing away all the bagels after we bought six right before they closed. So now he has lied to me and says he donates them. Im calling foul! I might suggest he never try to contact me again.

These people are the fastest, most efficient staff Ive ever met! The first time I walked in on a big line, I thought it will take a long time to get my order in, but I was taken care of and out of there in about 10 minutes. They are amazing! Yummy food, too!

We have recently opened Design with Tile in Hackettstown. Had a very bad experience getting breakfast at a small Spanish place on Main St wich we visit often. Thought about where else we can go to get a good breakfast and I remembered Hot Bagels Abroad. We had opened the business already so we decided to call for our order. The staff was extremely pleasant and said it would be ready in 5 minutes. I left to pick it up and it was ready with my name written correctly on it and the sandwiches were delicious!! Outstanding work guys. I will refer all of our friends and customers to you. Thanks for the excellent treatment. Very professional!

Ordered a chicken sandwich and a bunch of other stuff. was billed for it all, got back to work and.....no chicken sandwich. called up the place to ask if they had it on the counter and maybe it didnt make it into the bag. The guy on the phone told me no way and to basically get lost. he helped me confirm that I need to find another bagel place, thanks guy!

Hot Bagels is one of my favorite places! I go there every morning and get a bagel. I even sometimes go there for my lunch too. The owner is a great guy and the food is amazing. I would recommend this bagel shop to anyone. The other staff working for him are so sweet and kind. They always make my food on time and its always how I ask it to be.

Great fresh made always reliably good. When I am goingTo friends farther away....they always want me to bring the bagels. Its my first stop as I leave town.

Update: still going here cause they are better than the other one,, but still lacking.. Generally the bagels are under cooked and service aint what it used to be.. just my opinion.Always my favorite shop in Hackettstown, but lately service is slipping. They seem very under staffed. I ordered the spinach omelet which comes with a bagel as I frequently do but asked him to hold the greasy deep fried home fries. $6.25 and a small coffee. $1.69. = $8.50 last I checked with tax. Young man I did not recognize charged me $10.10. I paid and put .90 in the tip jar. When it was finally ready I told him I thought he may have overcharged me. He assured me that he didnt because if I didnt want the home fries I would have to pay separately for my bagel. Seemed unfair that Id have to pay more because they didnt have to supply, prepare and serve the fries. He was steadfast in his stance so I said there are other places to get breakfast and left. When things change people notice and ultimately it will affect business. I probably visit here 20 -30 times a year. So I know how the service used to be. Disappointed in the changes and the lack of a fork to eat it with. Update, turns out i got a bacon omelet instead????

Been going here for years. Everyone’s super friendly and makes an effort to remember your name and order if you’re a regular. Bagels are my favorite.

I’m gonna keep it 100 with y’all. This place is the beez neez. They throw mad schmeat on the bagel which is awesome! I usually have to pay extra for the schmeat know what I’m sayin? Big ups liquid Richard!

I always say they have the bagels here and Christmas Eve is no exception! Even though there is a wait (because of the holiday rush of orders), staff is kind and helpful. They dealt with a very unpleasant customer and remained kind even with the rush of so many orders and pick ups.

Beware, if you taste the food here.. you might not come back tomorrow or the next day but you will end up going back. Then it may just become an every other weekend kind of thing. Then it evolves and it may just get the best of you and enrich your breakfast experience but who knows.. you may not want to experience that.

I have fond memories of going to the local bagel shop with my mom when I was a kid and sometimes I yearn to relive those memories. There are a lot of bagel shops in New Jersey and a lot of really good ones too but for the Hackettstown area this is my favorite one. The food is delicious, the specialty cream cheeses are awesome, and the coffee tastes great. I dont go here all the time but when Im in the mood theres no better place in Hackettstown.

I visit this bagel spot every week. Much better than Chester Bagel.I get the same (4) bagels every time for my family.FANTASTIC BAGELS! Well worth the wait. Get the Asiago with Salmon Spread, Gods favorite. :)Here is where this place sometimes has an issue.Once in a while they hire a new person and the new person either gets it or they dont.Other than that all the girls are great, the elder man who manages it is good too.When they work like a team its quite a system.

The food would be good if they didn’t consistently get the orders wrong. It’s especially frustrating when you get all the way back home after calling an order in just to realize your side of bacon was not there and the egg white omelet you ordered did in fact have yolk in it.

Great service, even when theres a line out the door. Good quality eats...just wish they had vegan spreads.
