Ive been here 3x and for the most part the experience is consistent. Staff is nice, the service is very quick and the ambience is chill.Nothing wow and nothing bad.

Best coffee I have ever had. The beans are roasted in the lounge area where you can work, socialize, or chill. Flavors are roasted into the beans and there are many yummy ones to choose from! I love coming to Common Grounds! The decor is beautiful, seats and tables are comfy, and all of the employees Ive met are very friendly and polite. The prices are also very reasonable for such high quality coffees and a satisfying collection of Cafe snacks. My only warning is that some of their offerings will leave you bouncing off of the walls all day from the caffeine. (watch out for the iced Americano, its not for the faint of heart)

When I go here on the weekends especially Sundays after the gym they are always super nice. During the week though they can be a bit rude. Today I went to grab some quick food and coffee and there were 4 women there that completely ignored me. The woman that helped me was helping someone else. Theres nothing worse for a customer than having employees stare at you and not ask if you need something. Guess I stick to the weekends.

4.5 stars. Good bakery products! Try their biscotti! We ordered coffee and it was very sweet, so make sure you ask them to avoid sugar and add later on.

Such a great local coffee house with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. They also have an amazing stay of foods that look homemade instead of processed and pre-packaged! A great change from the corporate coffee places!

Im speachless! All I will say is that this is Heavens kitchen here on earth. From the rice pudding to the crumb cakes, muffins and Biscottis along with their extensive collection of coffee from the finest coffee beans its wonderful! AND..... THEY GRIND THEIR COFFEES IN HOUSE !

Superior coffee and friendly staff! If I need coffee (hot, iced, latte or other) this is where I go if Im in the area. Ill settle for the Seattle based locations (because they are everywhere) but Common Grounds is my preferred caffeine provider. The coffee is always good, the food is generously sized (perhaps a bit too much if there is such a thing!) and quite yummy and anyone Ive had the pleasure of speaking with there has been warm, friendly, and seem to know their business. I recommend to any I know who enjoy coffee!

Stopped here to get coffee while on a road trip. It wasnt far from the highway and we had a really great experience... very friendly, quick service even though there was a line the entire time we were there. And the coffee was quite good and our pastries were delicious and kept us going until lunch. My daughter had a gingerbread tea latte and loved it. Wish I had seen the biscotti on the far side if the counter...they looked amazing!

This is an amazing little coffee shop hidden in Hamden CT. They roast their own beans so its always fresh and the menu is always changing. They have an amazing bakery selection and it even includes Paleo options for the cavemen out there. WiFi is strong and their indoor and outdoor seating is decent. Three big things for me, almond milk is free which is nice compared to Starbucks which feels like milking an almond is worth $10, they have a massive selection of coffee you can take home, and if you are lucky you will be there on a roasting day and the whole world smells amazing.

Very good coffee and an excellent variety of baked goods. The workers are all very kind especially Jenna who goes way out of her way to be friendly and courteous.

I love this place! I usually go here a few times a week for a house coffee. The staff is very friendly. The coffee is far better than the two major chains in the area. The baked goods look deliciously tempting; however, the only one I have I tried are the biscottis- the lemon biscotti is out of this world.

AMAZING coffee! They also have really good sweets and pastries and the service is great. There is a variety of different coffees and they also have fantastic smoothies, hot chocolate and teas.

First time there on a rainy Saturday morning because I felt the need to try something different. I was incredibly surprised at the wonderful taste of the coffee and gluten-free baked goods. I will definitely be back on a regular basis.

This became my morning coffee shop while my husband and I were staying in branford for a wedding. Coffee was good, and most importantly for me they had almond milk available as a dairy free creamer option.

I love how close this location is to where I live because it gives me the opportunity to get my mocha banana coffee anytime I want. Customer service and prices are always great.

When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was the great vibe and nice comfortable furnishings. The pastries looked and tasted excellent and the place looked as though it was going to deliver some excellent coffee. It even has an elegant looking deidrich roaster in the shop to add to that aura of coffee suave. Unfortunately, however, the coffee was mediocre at best, barely topping a Starbucks. I tried a single origin and a blend, but the first tasted flat and uninteresting and the second tasted burnt. In short, while common grounds may be great place to hang out and have a pastry, it is certainly not a place for a quality drink.

Coffee shop with some desserts from fruit cup, to scones, muffins, pastries etc. Servers did not understand English sufficiently to answer questions about the coffee or merchandise. They tried, worked hard and were pleasant. Place small noisy. Located near Kohls, it was busy with constant take out. Coffee more like Starbucks than Dunkin Donut.

Nice selection and all the pastries are amazing. I definitely recommend the chocolate chip cookie crumb cake

Wow. Iced Coffee 8.9 out of 10. Bakery has authentic cakes, pies, and a variety of other desserts. Try the cheesecake cone. Overall, this everything I want in a cafe.

Definitely not like the one in Branford! My latte was disgusting, I was really craving something they make in the Branford store for a drink, but didnt want to travel that way and hoping they could make it here, but the lady looked at me like I was crazy.. I was hoping they made some of the specialty drinks here, but I guess not, and its kind of disappointing. Food is always on point though! But I will be sticking to the Branford location, even though I live in Hamden..

This is likely one of the cutest coffee shops in Hamden.The décor inside is very similar to the original Common Grounds in Branford and brings in a lot of the same warm tones. Its really inviting on the inside, though you may have trouble finding a seat.The staff and space are small, but both manage to consistently provide a good coffee and a pleasant experience.

My favorite coffee place by far, the owner and employees are amazing and always make me feel at home when I come in which is quite often.
