Smack Bang In The Middle!I waited a while to do this review for some reason. I think I was on the fence. Ive done drive through and walk in.I attempt to shop local and I’ve lived in the area going on a decade but I never eat in my immediate area. So I’ve been on a journey of sorts lately. Welp… Ive found Whitney Donuts.Selection is great, some harder to find things like Maple Bacon Donuts 🍁 🥓 🍩 ❗️Everything looks good. I’m not a fan of the glaze donuts at all. Ive had the some good options from there. I also ordered a Beacon Egg & Cheese on a croissant, not bad but not enough meat. I asked them to put black pepper on it and they put some in the bag. Another order was Bacon egg and cheese on an English muffin with jelly. They put the jelly on there even though it was less than a smidge.Ice coffee was nasty. Drive thru moves at a nice speed. The walk in process was VERY SLOW & disorganized. They have lots of customers so someone loves them. They create traffic issues with all the cars that use the drive thru.

Great selection of delicious donuts! Employees are very sweet and helpful even in a rush, (this place is popular!). We particularly enjoyed the traditional style cruller, chocolate frosted donuts, glazed cake donuts and the coconut crusted ones! There is definitely something for everyone! 12 donuts for 11$ and homemade! Miles above the junk that Dunkin puts out now. We also got breakfast sandwiches, delicious! Will be returning!

This donut shop mailed their fresh homemade donuts to a woman in my town (DownEast Maine) OUT OF THE KINDNESS OF THEIR HEARTS and paid for the 56$ shipping. They mailed them simply because it was for a elderly woman’s birthday who lives 10 hours away. This donut shop made me believe in humanity again. THANK YOU🖤

WOW! The glazed donut is so fluffy and delightful. All their donuts are fresh. The coffee was good, nothing too crazy. This might be become my weekend routine (let’s hope not for the sake of my pant line).

My #1 favorite donut shop ever... always fresh, I love the Apple Cider, the Boston Creme, and the ApplenSpice donuts. Great muffins too. Try the Lemon Poppyseed muffin. Im really addicted to the Poppyseed Horns. Folks, this is way, way, WAY better than the big-name shop.

The older lady behind the counter liked my face so she threw in a bunch of extra donuts no questions asked. Idk how that makes sense tho, I was wearing a mask and so was she. Just a vibe I guess lol anyways Im definitely fatter now from all those donuts. Worth it.

That was not a good surprise, usually they use leaf lettuce. Don’t know why they changed that, next time I’ll have to be specific.

Great place, for more than just donuts! Best bacon egg and cheese sandwich in Hamden. Service is fast and friendly, and the coffee is better than Dunkin....much better. Plus, the donuts are bigger, fresher and MUCH better than Dunkin! If youre not familiar with Whitney Donut, you could play it safe and get something you know down the street at Dunkin....pay more for a tiny donut and average coffee....or take a chance and get what the locals know to be the best food and coffee here!

The apple fritter was amazing. Donuts were good quality. Different flavors to choose from. The bacon egg and cheese was ok. It was fresh but a lacking in my opinion. The hard roll it came on was nice and fresh.

I ordered 2 BLT’s paid $14 and got basically a salad sandwich. The proportion of bacon they gave us wasn’t nearly enough to taste the bacon. Although the bread was good and the lettuce and tomato were fresh, we didn’t get any bacon and I have a picture to prove it. We will probably not go back for a BLT but will try the doughnuts next time.

Got the wrong donut. Now have to drive back to change it. It is not worth it to spend over an hour driving all morning for donut. Got the right donut but it was raw on the inside. This is especially bad for pregnant people. Hopefully I dont get sick from this. The quality has really gone down recently. This used to be our favorite spot. 1 hour later, my husbands stomach is in pain.

This place is always great, but this morning there was tons of snow coming down. My friend stayed the night, and I was trying to find break for him, my girlfriend and myself. Amazingly they were open, and i walked in. Even with snow, the staff was extremely friendly, not to mention the maple bacon donut made the walk entirely worth the walk.

We love their breakfast sandwiches and selection of delicious coffee.

I just ordered today. I live out of state and a loved one passed yesterday. I called to see if they could put together a delivery of treats for my family since I am not able to be with them due to Covid restrictions. They were amazing and caring on the phone and delivered the order amazingly quick. I am very grateful and will frequent there when ever I am able to travel again to see my family.

They have seriously upped their game in these times. The drive through line cranks it out. The phones are answered as quickly as possible and they always get the order right. The donuts are always very, very good but the highlight is the service and the efforts made to keep things flowing. Truly worth a visit any time of the year. :)

We lived right down the road from this spot for a month without learning about it. Dont let the name fool you - this place has got it all. Donuts, bagels, sandwiches, burgers, coffee.. And today I discovered they have wraps too. Ive never spent over 20 dollars between my wife and I and the food has been delicious almost every single time. Only giving it 4 stars because weve had a repetitive issue with one employee there - hes been a bit snappy and gotten our orders wrong as well. But dont let that deter you, Whitney Donut is seriously amazing.

Ive driven past here a lot and always see the drive thru line out onto the street. I decided that it was time to finally try them. Depsite the like being long, it was worth the wait. Their prices are very fair and they have a great variety. But the key here is that the variety is still high quality. A lot of places have variety but lack quality.We had some of their donuts and bagels and were really impressed with both. These are the best bagels in the area and the closest to NY style imo. The donuts are extremely well made and delicious and you can tell that everythings freshly made that day.

Ill drive by a dozen Dunkins to get donuts from Whitney Donuts. Staff is super friendly and everything Ive ever had has been fantastic. Prices are amazing considering how good and large the donuts and other pastries are.

Nothing matches the quality of their donuts. The chocolate coconut is outta sight. BEC on a everything is $. Moved away a few years ago but always have to stop when I am close by.

The 3 stars are for their corn muffin. Be careful where you eat the muffin. Why? If you cut it in half, for example, to manage eating it or for spreading butter it is likely to break apart. If you pick up a piece of the muffin, it crumbles. One needs to eat at a table sitting down with a plate on which the piece can fall. Otherwise, they are on your lap and on the floor. Bakers, do you know why this is not a sturdier corn muffin?

Ordered a breakfast sandwich (egg and cheese on a bagel). Before my sandwich came out I asked for SPK on the bagel. Staff just pointed at the packets.Sandwich came out few minutes so I asked the staff why I couldn’t get SPK on the sandwich.Staff response - “our cook is very busy now”.I might as well make my own sandwich at home.

Former employee over 15 years ago and nothings changed besides upgrading with the times. Food is great, wait time with the pandemic restrictions can be a bit lengthy but they move quick and still produce the great food as always! Highly recommend

Great place for a coffee and donut, or a lunch. Overall they are pretty fast at completing orders. The counter is a bit disorganized but they are good about taking people in order. Donuts are great and muffins are really good as well. I particularly enjoy their BLT as a snack on the way home from the gym.

Cranberry orange muffins! Twenty minutes before closing, I knew it was likely the pickings would be slim. So no regular cran. orange muffins, BUT the clerk recommended the gluten free variety and said they were yummy! So I trusted her, and she was 100% right! Love having a bite of cranberry or orange in every single bite, unlike those cake-y ones with cranberries on top and nowhere else! Great vibe here!!!

I want to start by saying I almost gave 3 stars, but my experience today changed my mind. I have been here a dozen times and usually I am greeted by unfriendly staff members who are so disinterested and distracted that I have to repeat my order multiple times. It seems like they are only friendly with the customers who go there regularly. With that said, a very nice gentleman helped me today and patently answered all my questions about how the donuts were made. I was trying to determine if they were safe to give to my daughter who has a severe peanut and sesame allergy (I was worried about possible cross contamination with the bagels). By the way, they are safe from both 😊As far as the donuts are concerned they get 5 stars every time! This is the only donut shop in the area worth going to in my opinion. The donuts are always so soft ( unlike other places that fry the donuts too long resulting in a crunchy outer shell). The flavors are simple and classic so if youre looking for candy loaded stuff this isnt the place for you. My favorite donut is their butternut crunch, but the toasted coconut is a close second. Definitely stop in when youre in the area. You wont be disappointed!

Good egg sandwiches! The guy behind the counter will remember your name after you place your order, (without writing it down), which I find impressive, especially if you have a rather uncommon name! Also, the drive-thru & inside the restaurant is consistently busy on Sundays, which is a true testament to how delicious the food is! All the locals frequent this establishment!

Such a gem in Hamden. Once you have their doughnuts, youll never go back to dunkin donuts. Their glazed, old fashion and coconut doughnuts are amazing, among all of their other great flavors. The breakfast sandwiches are made with real eggs and are exactly what you want in the morning. They make other baked goods like muffins, apple fritters, bagels etc. Walk-in or drive thru options. Always busy but always worth it. Its faster to order inside. One of my local favorites! 🙌

I love with this place. Their chicken cutlet sandwiches may easily be one of my favorites. Staff is usually friendly, although Ive caught some on what may have been a bad day for them. Theyre always at least polite otherwise. Great place for breakfast or lunch. Definitely a place that has obvious regulars and for good reason. My only complaint is that theyre not closer to my home.

Always more than pleased with my donuts. Sandwiches are hot, flavorful and fresh. Fancy pastries are expensive, but worth getting from time to time. Awesome local business. Great service and product every time differentiates them from franchise breakfast options. Worth the wait even with a long the line.

More of a mom & pop type shop. The coffee I would say was watery but strong. The glaze donuts were more of a entermanns type donut. Drive through workers were polite and friendly.

The high school I work at has a Donut Club which orders in bulk from a different shop every month (never DD). We go as far as Western Mass and RI from our home in CT. Whitney Donut Shop is definitely one of the best for quality, flavor and value and is THE friendliest place Ive visited at 5:45 AM in several years. Highly recommend you stop or make the drive!

Fast, healthy lunch and breakfast. No table service, but a few small tables. Excellent quality. Awesome donuts, especially donut hole things! Small parking lot. Drive up line can be slow but food is made to order.

The staff is great and super friendly. The food is equally as good! Seriously one of my favorite place to go grab lunch in the afternoon. If youre hungry and looking for a solid meal give this place a look. The donuts are also pretty amazing. Definitely better then anything else in the area.
