I have been involved in this sport since the mid 80s. Worked in marketing for a topline custom performance boat builder. I build Hot Rods along with fast boats... I run a 25 advantage citation 450hp 454 magnum. After years of dependable service the ole girl sucked a bag, which led to a repower winter of 2020. She was repowered with an all new 450hp 454 mag drop in by a very reputable shop. figured they didnt do the 450hp carbed mag since it was only avail two years 95/96 The repowered unit ran well when you finally were able to start her (asumed she was just cold blodded) She ran very mild and would rev out to 5000 rpm at 60mph. I was completely satisfied cruisin my 330hp this season until i encountered a problem. Out of the blue she wouldnt rev past 3k on a load. Called all the local marine shops around, described the problem only to get a different answer from each. I had one shop that wouldnt even look at it until a $300 overlook/compersion test was scheduled 3 weeks out. All shops were booked month in advance venting their problems to me. That was UNTIL I CALLED RPM MARINE! I left a message. Reply was in a timely manner. Described my problem on the phone! only to be told by Mechanic James... exactly what the problem may be. They scheduled my delivery that same day and within hours i was called confirming the problem along with numerous details that had been overlooked. I was informed with each and every concern. Jame adressed all concerns including touching up my outdrive and serving prop and shaft! James went through the boat with a fine toothed comb! He informed me that I indeed i had a 450HP mag drop in with all the good internals! After all the hard work, he was not able to get my exhaust delivered in a timely manner.... Knowing i wanted to get in the splash ASAP, James called on his vendor and set up a pick up time for early saturday morning! Didnt realize until i arrived at the marine store. James called the evening before and had scheduled a pick up for saturday probably using up a favor! This Shop is closed on weekends! Met with the owner, got the parts at wholesale and was back on the water Saturday afternoon! Never have i met a mechnic such as James... If you run a mercruiser RPM is the ONLY choice for you. Boat starts 1st kick everytime and runs harder than she ever has! You can feel the cam and those 450hp just at idol. She tips the gps at 70+ now Thank You James and Candy, I cant say enough!

James @ RPM is the most knowledgeable individual I have ever met, when it comes to out drives!He explained everything that was wrong with my drive in simple terms, and then went the extra mile and sent me pix of the parts that were in need of replacement.RPM did an excellent job rebuilding my drive, and in the future....no one else will be touching my drive, other than James !

So lucky to have found James to service the outdrive on my Sea Ray! It is refreshing to meet someone who is passionate, thorough and truly enjoys what he does. RPM was able to fit me in super timely and turned over the job in two days...only because they had to order a part. Candy and James run it old school and can still hook you up with whatever it is you need done on your boat. If James doesn’t do it he’ll refer you to someone who does. He even took photos and FaceTimed me throughout the repair to ensure my needs were getting met. In this day and age it was nice not having to micro manage...instead I got to watch James micro manage my boat! Super stoked on this place!

After two other boat mechanics failed to solve my fuel problem on our 34’ SeaRay with 8.1 MercCruisers, James told me exactly what my problem was without even seeing the boat. Merc has a fuel system contamination problem caused by internally painted fuel components that with today’s fuels flake off and foul fuel pressure regulators, filters, injectors, etc. James took the time to make sure every fuel component from fuel pump to injectors was thoroughly cleaned. UNBELIEVABLE effort to get us running again and ready for sea trials. Exceptional service, on time, professional & an amazing boat mechanic!!
