Pete with Ice cube Air came to repair my AC unit on a home warranty claim. I dealt with another company ( L&S) prior to ice cube and they threatened to deny my claim unless I paid $400 for an unnecessary coil cleaning when all I needed was a fan motor replaced on the unit outside. Pete arrived on the early side of my 4 hour service window which was much appreciated, replaced the fan motor, verified everything worked and was on his way! He didn’t try to upsell me on any services at all. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
The repair tech Jerry was very professional, he explained the part that needed replacement and said that he would try to get the part as quickly as possible. He also stated that we are approaching the week end, but he did reassure me he does work Saturday of week ends. I am thus far pleased with the service I am recieving. I called my home warranty folks on July 9 to look at my HVAC unit, whereby the compressor outside was coming on, but the blower unit for circulating in the house would not come on. It is hot in Las Vegas in July, and I understand how busy all the AC companies are and it can be a miserable job.When the repair technician came out, he said we had a defective controller circuit board in the unit. He bypassed the circuit to allow the blower to be on continuously and keep the house cool while they ordered the replacement circuit board. It took a week. When they came out again, there was some sort of issue with hooking up the new circuit board and the technician could not install the new circuit board. He reverted to the old one with the fan bypass, so at least we had cool air with the fan blower running continuously.Then the technician came out again a week later and in 20 minutes, he had the unit functioning. Each time the technician was at our house, I tipped him $20, just because I know the job is thankless during hot summers in attics.A week later, the entire AC unit would not work. Since I am an electrical engineer, I went up into the attic to look at what he had repaired to see if there was power to the unit and the status light on the new circuit board.I found a melted 120 volt connection. A wire nut had melted due to poor installation into the wire nut that keeps the wires twisted and insulated. I found two more wires twisted together for the 120 volt feed. There was no tape, no wire nut, and the connection was barely twisted together (electrocution hazard, eh?)The bottom line is that the melted wire-nut contained poorly twisted wires that cause arcing and burning over the previous week until the connection finally failed.I took pictures. And I had seen the wiring weeks before when I investigated the unit failure before the technician came out, so I knew that this repair was new. The technician had been in a hurry and did a horrible, unsafe installation in connecting power to the unit with the new circuit card. His poor workmanship could have cause an electrical fire inside the entire AC unit ! Being an engineer who has worked with circuits and power, I have never seen such an irresponsible installation, besides the fact that a full blown electrical fire might have occurred.I sent the pictures and an email to the home warranty company then I fixed the connection, to code, properly myself.And this was the work of a technician who said he had being doing AC work for 20 years. *Yep*. It reminds me of when my old Mom said she had been cooking for 50 years...but her meals were always bad. Especially the canned salmon and the overcooked *everything*.I know that writing a negative review affects peoples jobs. But my VERY accurate statements above, along with the workmanship pictures need to ensure the public is safe from very shoddy workmanship.
Would give zero stars if I could. Our home warranty company sent them twice. The first time they said it wasnt the AC it was our thermostat. Replaced it with a cheapie new one that isnt worth a quarter of the deductible we paid. When that didnt fix the issue we put in a second service request and they sent someone else to come find the problem. This new guy told us nothing was wrong, we just werent used to the Vegas summer, and we just needed to crank the thermostat down even further. I grew up here my dude, I know that my house shouldnt feel like this, and my ac shouldnt be blowing warm air. 🙄So here we are less than a month later, and our AC has completely stopped working. Luckily, our warranty company has contracted out another provider. I would never reccomend this company, or its lazy ass technicians to anyone.
Customer Beware!!! This place is awful and their customer service is lacking professionalism. They have a tendency to run late when you need them most. They absolutely wont call you back when they have a problem because they are too busy. When you ask to speak to the owner the alleged manager replies well theres no need to go there and tries to make the customer feel like its their fault. Avoid this place!!!
Do not use this company they are extortionist frauds could not or would not fix my ac. The techs didnt even have the decency to have a discussion as to what the problems were. We have since gone to Dr. cool, they are waiting on parts to fix what the idiots at ICA did, but already have 100% more confidence they will fix my Hblc
My air conditioning went out in the middle of the night, so my Home Warranty Company set me up with this company ICE CUBE AIR. I immediately called to find out they did not open until 8am, so I called back at 8am and explained the situation and was told that she just arrived and will go through the work orders that came through during the night. 2 hours passed I decided to call back, was told they have 18 work orders and they will call us as soon as possible, 4 hours passed so I called back and was told it was hectic in the office, but she found my work order, then she put me on hold. She gets back on the phone and tells me, IT WILL BE 4 DAYS UNTIL WE CAN COME OUT !!!! Needless to say, I hung up on her and called another company ACE A1, and they were able to come out the same day. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY !
The customer service here is truly non existent, when you live in Las Vegas in 115 heat and you AC goes out you need to be treated and handled with better care the person I spoke with made me feel like me calling was a burden! I hate that my home property group uses them!
Ice cube air truck parked in front of our house. He comes to the door, we answer and say hello. He doesnt Identity himself, just asks Whats wrong with the air conditioner? We think it an odd question, but reply, Its not working and invite him in to check out our room and thermostat. He declines coming in and wants to go on the roof right away. Ok, we show him options for access to our roof mounted unit. He started complaining about accessibility, and said Im not a Mountain Goat. I let that go, He looked at the unit, and said he had to get his testing equipment. I thought that was a given, but again, let that go. He told us its working fine, but he is going to change a resistor. Now totally confused, I shrug, ok, why change something, if its ok, but thinking, its not working, which is why we called in the first place. Ultimately, he came in the house, put a meter at the vent, and said its cooling. I said, but it isnt blowing he said yes it is, I said no its not. He got angry, and abusive. I asked to get off my property, he got more angry. My wife said, you didnt even Identity yourself when you came to the door. He started shouting at my Wife Youre a liar, thats a lie.AC still not fixed, the nice lady office Manager very apologetic, hope she gets a job with a better company. She deserves a better job. Im 62 years old, I have never asked a service person to leave my home, until yesterday. Still in shock.
My air conditioner went out on saturday afternoon. My reality company called to set up an emergency visit since they were just out there 19 days prior to fix the motor in the fan. I live in Las Vegas and currently the temps are in the triple digits. They cant get out to fix it for 3 more days. This is unacceptable practice. Since this is an emergency they should be out to fix it within 24 hours. They seem to be lazy and should have checked the rest of the air conditioner the last time they were out, but obviously that didnt happen. If you can find someone else to fix your air, call them. This place is a JOKE!!!!
BEWARE!!!! Never do business with this company! This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life! They are causing damages to A/C units when they come out and overcharging consumers for issues THEY CAUSED!!!!!They are complete liars and unprofessional. They submitted charges to my home warranty company for issues they caused. I called another company (2nd opinion) out who specifically told me, there was absolutely no way the repairs I needed existed before Ice Cube Air came out to service my unit. Thankfully I did have the 2nd opinion to expose this fraudulent company. Had I not, I would have been out of pocket $360 due to FRAUD!Beware and STAY CLEAR of this company. They are causing damages and charging the CONSUMER!!!!!!
Someone that I am extremely close friends with worked there and the Tech Earl that he road with asked if my friend could get any marijuana on his first day. Earl also never recovered any refrigerant. For one Earl doesnt even own a recovery machine and he complains that it takes to much work and time. So Earl just blows that refrigerant into the atmosphere and he doesnt care if the refrigerant has chlorine in it which is what helps that huge hole in the Ozone get even bigger. So if Earl comes to your house I would immediately close the door and call out a different company. Even if its through your home warranty company call someone else! Why have someone who cuts every corner he can work on your AC? If you enjoy paying your deductable then be my guest!
NEVER let this company come to your home. Home warranty sent them out to check my duct work. They never even can in the house, but wrote a report. I had to fight with the warranty company to get another option. Only after your money for no service.

This company is really bad! I can not believe that my home warranty works with this company! After 5 times of coming to my house to check my AC unit they discover it has a leak!!! Seriously? It has to be 5 times before they could discover the problem?????
