This place was last on my list due to some of the reviews regarding unpriced things. I have to say nearly all the vinyl had prices, and not only were the items I bought a little less than online prices - everything I bought was in nearly flawless mint condition (regardless of age). I will agree with another reviewer - this is one of the largest collections of rock and metal I have seen in one place (but also large collections of all other genres). He not only had the band I was looking for (which almost never happens), he had nearly all their albums in stock. The store is clean and well organized, and the owner knows where everything is and can find it quickly.

Very nice record store with an unbelievable amount of records. Pop, blues, rock, r&b, jazz, and Christian. Average prices vary from $10up.

My husband called it the best collection of hard rock and metal hes ever seen. Snagged a BUNCH of records we havent seen back home in Atlanta. Definitely worth the stop in! Super nice guy runs the place and has a lot of great finds.

Great selection. I didn’t like that on the CDs nothing was marked so they looked up each cd price when you brought it up. As a result I passed on buying several things because I simply didn’t want to ask the price.

Been going for years. I used to go to the old location as well. The guy is great, he sells lots of rare cds. Lots of vinyl and even cassette tapes. He gives you a good deal when it comes to rare releses. To some people it may seem a bit pricey but personally the deals he gives for rare releases are very fair. His store has helped me expand my collection. I would recommend people to check the place out.

If they don’t have it, you don’t need it. Clean organized collection of vinyl, cd and collectables. Knowledgable and helpful.

Long story short, I donated my entire collection of vinyl, cds and tapes to Goodwill, and hi-fi equipment to movers when I sold my California home earlier this year. Having withdrawals, in my new semi-retirement, for listening to good spinning vinyl, I was on a quick one day mission to get out and replace my top ten LPs for my new audio equipment. THEY HAD HALF OF WHAT WAS ON MY LIST !!! And, the pre owned LPs were all in very good condition for a very fair price. So glad these folks are open for business. Stay well .

Love this place. If you like rare vinyls, this place has it all. The owner is very knowledgeable of music and will go out of his way to make sure you leave with what you came for and if they dont have exactly what youre looking for theres a wide variety of choices to choose from.

Hands down one of the best record stores in Las Vegas.I just got a record player earlier this year, so Im always looking for places where I can add to my collection. Ive been frequenting the store even when they were back at their old location, since Id look for vinyl I could potentially get autographed at concerts (and believe me, Ive accumulated a large collection of signed records over the years, many of which came from this store).The selection in here is solid, covering a wide variety of genres. My main genres are rock and metal, but theres plenty more to this store than just that, including some rare vinyl for the more die-hard of collectors. Prices are higher than some local shops for some records, however you truly get what you pay for, as almost everything Ive even bought here has been pristine and didnt skip at all.Clint, the owner, is a great guy and a pleasure to do business with. This is a guy who takes care of everyone who comes in the store, and is eager to answer any and all questions. Who my money goes to makes a big difference in terms of where I choose to buy my vinyl, and this guy deserves it.If you want vinyl in Las Vegas, dont overlook this shop. Its tucked away in a little strip mall beside Arizona Charlies, but its worth hunting down and going in there. Highest marks all around!

This store has fair pricing, friendly staff and a good selection. Mostly pre 2000s records so dont expect to find much thats new.

Stopped in today to find some vinyl. Brought my records to the front counter and the guy refused to sell me the records at the advertised price. This is a really good collection of records but bad business practice. Edit: it was not out by accident i found something someone else missed, thats why people go to record stores or antique stores. I made you a bunch of money. It was unethical to change a price on something because you missed the value in it.

Every time I’m in town I always stop by moondog records. The last stop I made in July it seemed like their prices had double in cost. After I was done looking at their overly priced records I asked the owner how to get to the location of another record store and he said he didn’t live in that part of town so he couldn’t tell me how to get there. Luckily another guy that worked there gave me some great directions and was very helpful. Because of the owners attitude made me not want to visit his store anymore.

Im new to the game and listen to a little bit of everything. This place has a fantastic selection of classic rock, jazz, alternative, and more Im sure. I didnt see much indie which is okay, I didnt expect to. The as is bargain bins are worth taking the time to browse. Over all I added 12 new records to my collection for $30. Very satisfied and I will definitely be back soon

Was in town for a conference and always try to visit local record shops. Stopped by Moondog on my last day. All I can say is I should have gone there multiple days! The selection was one of the best I have ever seen. The prices were reasonable. What sets them apart is the folks working there (the owner and his co-worker/friend). They are very knowledgeable and helpful. The selection was very well organized by genre and easy to navigate. Picked up several key pieces to my collection allin great condition. Can’t wait to spin the Mofi Doors! So to make it even a better experience after I got back to my hotel and opened the bag to look at my haul I noticed that the owner had included a cassette I was interested in but didn’t decide to purchase! When I come back in town next I will definitely be going to Moondog again. Easily one of my favorite record stores I have visited in the entire country! Thanks guys! Next time I’ll take you up on that beer!

Tons of music id say 8/10 chance of finding what youre looking for will it be on CD or vinyl.

Me and my Son stays in Vegas for a 1 Week Trip and we are Big Kiss Fans. I find that Record Store before we start that Great Trip to Vegas in the Internet. Bought me a copy of Sixto Rodriguezs Cold Fact for mad cheap. $30 is a great price for a rare album. After seeing the documentary on Netflix, I had to get a copy and where else but Moondog Records would have a fresh copy for me. Thank you! 👍👍👍

I called to ask them about selling them a record player they asked me what brand name was it I told them sanyo and they instantly said we have no interest in that the problem I have isnt with them not wanting what I have to offer its with them not taking the time to see.if they would have taken a moment to ask what model it was Im sure they would have bought it because its a sanyo GXT 4512 a record player that you cant even find online its from 1974 and its not even available online which makes it an instant collectors item but they dont have time to even consider sanyos

I consider this shop one of the best in town, the shop owner goes above and beyond when it comes to service. Good place if youre trying to find rare Beatles and Pink Floyd Records. Shop has a good variety.

Shady dealers to say the least. They seek out and stock stolen merchandise. All their stuff is waaay overpriced. I constantly find records at zia with a moondog pricetag and zia is selling it for 1/10th the price. Go there instead. Looking forward to this place closing their doors permanently. Avoid.

Great shop with a lot of records I had a hard time finding elsewhere. Im not from Vegas and the owner was very helpful in helping me find other shops in the area. Will definitely stop here again the next time Im in Vegas!

I was really excited to check out Moondog Records, as I absolutely love record stores. But I was incredibly disappointed to find that their prices are WAY over what they should be. Theyre charging $15-$50 for used, scratched records. Zia Records charges $1-$15 for their used record selection, normally. I would pay the price theyre asking if the records were brand new and unscratched. I understand that theyre trying to own a business, but please try to price things accordingly!

Great place to find records, cos and cassettes

Great mom and pop record store. Support it and all independent music shops. Great selection of Metal vinyl as well as all other music styles. Vintage audio gear and cassettes. A bit over priced but thats expected when you think of the overhead the owner must have. Its a huge undertaking to open a record store now days. Show your support and dont ever buy music from the big box stores.

Condition of records was not good. Dirty and scratched stuff priced high. Cassette tapes that looked like they had been in flood priced at $30 when NM of the same title can be had for $10.Literally found black mold on an album.Vintage stereo pieces missing parts and unable to power on at the price of a working restored piece.Guitars? Again junk.Sorry but this is not a real business. Owner was OK but a bit arrogant. I see no reason to ever go back. Its a shame really but what was being offered was pretty insulting.

Clint the owner is such a cool guy! I brought my records to him for evaluation and to sell. Definitely got the best price from Moondog Records compared to other buy/sell record shops.

Sold some rare and signed vinyls to the owner and was amazed with how understanding he was and was really easy to negotiate with, went all around town and this was the best place that offered a great price, would do business again!

Prices were high on some things, but found a few steals between two of us. I would certainly go back if in Vegas, amd so should you! I showed them the PUNK NEVER DIES! dress shirt signed by close to a thousand punks, bout to be retired July 16, 2018 in honor of The First Four Years E.P. by Black Flag, whom Greg Ginn was first to sign it. Hopefully my book about it will be finished written about my exploits to make a tattered dress shirt my mother said to throw away, til I said I would make something cool out of it first. Ask the guys at Moondog if I successfully made a tattered Arrow dress shirt cool again, I double Moondog you!

For everyone who is interested in good and old Jazz stuff and in Westcoast GArage and Psyche this is the place to go. Burned some hundred $ here for fantastic stuff in fantastic conditions for little money. Had also real fun with the owner and a good talk. I would visit him everytime again. Great shop.

Ok dont really buy all genres

Avoid this shop at all costs. Went at 11:45 today waited out front for 15 min said open everything was locked up.finally went to the back parking lot seen a guy selling records out of his truck. As I approached the guy asked if I wanted to buy as I am a guy starts yelling at me telling me I cant do that. Like hes some authority. Turns out hes the clerk from moon dog records. So I start in on him about being closed no sighn up waiting for 15 min. He shrugs his shoulders and says oh well im the only one there. No apology Just A higher then tho attitude. So I keep digging and he tells me if I keep looking he wont let me in the store. HaHa. Funny since he just kept us waiting 15 min and I buy large amounts of records. Like we should be lucky to shop at this crap hole. So I went and found a great record store with 2 locations and spent several hundred dollars. Avoid these jerks at all costs.

I had some vinyl record albums to sell and was sent to moondog by Rich, the guy from wax trax records. I must say that I am very empathetic and got an immeadiate good vibe from the owner. My memory is crap and I cannot recall his first name right now, it will come to me as soon as I no longer need it. Anyway, awesome dude, awesome store. I need to go back to look at what guitars they sell, I am pretty sure their sign said guitars, I might have that wrong. What I do not have wrong is his sincerity and professionalism. He is just a genuinely nice guy. He deserves your support.
