I had bids to install solid oak flooring from 3 companies. Jeff was very helpful, positive and flexible, and the price was reasonable. His workers worked the entire time they were here... few breaks... an honest days work!! The floor is beautiful!!! There was a slight glitch in not having enough filler in some of the large knots, which meant the areas needed to be refilled, stained and another coat of urethane added. But... it all turned out great, and I absolutely LOVE my floors!!

We recently had hardwood installed in our log cabin and it required extensive precise scribing. Mike did an impeccable job and it was obvious he takes pride in his craftsmanship. He was meticulous in the care he took with our belongings and our home. He arrived promptly and worked very hard throughout the project. Exemplary service and ideal craftsmanship.When I first began searching around for vendors to remove my carpet and kitchen floor and replace with wood, Mountain Valley Floors was not my first choice simply because I am usually influenced by google reviews and they had none. I ended up choosing another floor company in Fort Collins. After taking 2 months to just get a rep to come out and do measurements (I work from home, so available every day) I started calling around again. In hindsight I can say that Mountain Valley Floors is hands down the best service, price, and finished product I have received in the last 18 months of home remodeling (all jobs totaling approx 30k).I worked with Weston and he did an excellent job on all fronts. No games, no gimmick. He was at my house in 2 days and didnt try to sell me a whole new house. He listened to what I wanted and told me what they could do. They focus on doing floors and doing them well. I got an itemized quote some 36 hours later where I could see what each element was costing me and I could pick and choose options (such as removing the carpet myself or paying for removal, toe-kicks, etc). The price was very competitive as compared against 2 others locally and selection on flooring was overwhelmingly large and diverse. He sent me home with samples and we got things rolling that day.Two weeks after walking into Mountain Valley Floors (we had to wait till ordered flooring arrived) I had Mike B. showing up daily at 8am and working solid throughout the day for the next 3.5 days (he finished around noon on the 4th day). Sq Ft was about 600. Install was excellent and the work ethic was refreshingly dedicated and driven. Even when I would offer to have him just leave things overnight if that was easier, he would insist on cleaning up the site each night.Overall the experience was top notch and I know that I can go to Mountain Valley Floors, pay a fair price and receive exceptional service AND exceptional finished product. I highly recommend consulting/comparing with them for any floor jobs.

Mountain Valley: The most enjoyable part of building our home. We researched from Denver to Fort Collins. The quality and selection of hardware available (flooring, carpet and tile) were the absolute best! Mountain Valley Floors designers/consultants were able to find for us a package of unique, cohesive colors and textures that gave our home a definitive, beautiful, modern style. As for the installers, they are true craftsmen. Our builder was so impressed with the quality of workmanship, hes decided to change vendors to use Mountain Valley. Could not recommend highly enough!

Ill give them a couple starts for the estimator being on time, and providing good information during the consultation as well as when I went in to the showroom to pick out a couple samples. But after two weeks of waiting for an estimate when Ive got a job ready to schedule thats holding up scheduling other jobs, Mountain Valley is rapidly loosing their appeal.

We had a very disappointing experience with Mountain Valley Floors. We have used MVF on two occasions. The first, a basement re-flooring, was a good experience. Because of that, MVF was our first choice for flooring and hard surfaces in a cabin remodel. The second experience was certainly not as positive.The flooring and counter portion of the remodel exceeded $14K. Included in the contract was a “floating” floor which was installed over the existing vinyl in the kitchen. Since the existing 40 year old vinyl was still structurally sound, the floating floor had been recommended by MVF as a good option to update the look. Initially we were pleased. The problem arose when the water in a dishwasher connection started a dripping leak. As it turns out, MVF had not had the plumber (who was on site at the time) remove the dishwasher to install the new floor under it. Instead, they opted for the quick fix of only putting new flooring where it could be seen. There was ample room under the counter to allow for the new flooring under the dishwasher. The result was that the leaking water was not detected on the surface of the floor. Without new flooring under the dishwasher, the water seeped between the old vinyl floor and the new overlay. The leak was not discovered until the entire kitchen floor became saturated between the floors and the water began seeping upwards.We immediately had the leak fixed and asked MVF to solve the problem created by the lack of new floor under the dishwasher. To their credit, they were timely in getting out to take up the new flooring overlay. We were worried about mold issues. Getting MVF back to reinstall the floor was more difficult. Although the patch job is extremely visible when the dishwasher is removed, we now have flooring under the dishwasher, as there should have been in the first place.The issue arose when MVF sent us a bill for $1,154 for the repair. When I spoke to the owner of the company, who professes to be an attorney, he became lawyer-like and asked if the contract specifically stated that there would be new floor installed under the dishwasher. I allowed as how there probably wasn’t but asked if there was language that specifically excluded flooring under the dishwasher. The subject was quickly changed. He said that he would “take a look” at the contract and the job and get back to me. A couple weeks later we received the bill. I paid it to put the whole matter behind me.My bottom line is that Mountain Valley Floors opted for the “quick fix” flooring installation instead of doing the job right. That decision, together with a poorly connected dishwasher by the plumber, caused a significant issue for a newly remodeled property. The “not our problem” attitude that MVF adopted leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.As consumers, you have the right to choose your flooring contractor. Don’t let your general contractor dictate flooring subs. I strongly recommend that you do not choose Mountain Valley Floors. Keep looking!!
