Amazing retro and rare collections. Small place but offers a more than any GameStop could dream to. Very happy after my visit and highly recommend.

Ive got mixed feelings about this place. While they have a great selection of retro and current titles. The prices of their retro seem to be up in the air. I have a few ways to track prices on retro titles and sometimes the price is fair and other times items can be over priced by 50$ or more. The idea that harder to find games only have their prices changed once a month is crazy (however if only one person is doing it I can understand) but the fact that if you ask how much a game costs, get told that its price is lets say 150, but its been in the store more than a month and they have to price check it and it ends up costing more is horrible. There are so many games that I would have bought but didnt because the value changed right then and there. It wouldnt have been such a problem if it wasnt for the fact that it ended up costing more than the game was worth when the game was already priced higher than it should have been. I dont mind the idea of paying a little more for something in person. But when its 50$ over the average asking price then suddenly turns to 100$ over asking price is a bit to much for my blood. Id still recommend this shop, but double check prices before you buy some of the more expensive games.

Good game store, not as big as the other location but they still have a good selection of used titles. I appreciate the veteran discount they offer. Ill shop there again soon.

Wont use them again. Used to buy all my stuff from them but tried to sell some things back, that I bought from them, and they wouldnt take them. Will find another place to shop for my things from now on.

Is it a Colorado thing, that the staff in every store treat customers like shoplifters.Good grief people, not everyone is out to rob you.How about you try friendly customer service.Definitely would be a change from what your currently offering.- I realize, after hearing their thoughts, that my initial review was to harsh and my perception of the situation was wrong. They are trying to provide excellent customer service and that might come across as a little pushy, but at least theyre trying. Sorry guys. In the future Ill try to be a little less grumpy.

Knowlegable staff, they were able to find just what I was looking for instantly. Prices are in line with other places.

The ambiance of this place is wonderful and there are some incredible deals. And theyve almost always got what you need and if they dont, they point you in the right direction. Puts GameStop to shame.

I wish I could rate these guys a 6, they are fair with their trade ins and prices, every console I have bought has worked and still do. They sell games as old as Atari and up. All of the employees at both stores are awesome and knowledgeable too. I go here every pay check. I do kind of miss the point system but the buy 3 10.00 or under get one free is not bad either, lots of good titles for that price.

This place is great because if they dont have what your looking for they will place you on a want to buy list and when they get it in they call you so you can go in and make your perchase!

Friendly staff, nice selection of what you would expect, reasonable prices (even on rare items). The most awesome benefit of this store is that they do not push useless pay to be a member club...their program is free and simple. Would highly recommend over the mega chain store option across the country.

I love this store!! I played the original Nintendo when I was a kid and I have some older game systems now. I love that there is a store that carried games and accessories for all the systems I have!! I also sometimes buy the candy they have out. Japanese today and it is awesome!!

Not only do they carry regular New age games but they have consoles from when I was a kid (se ga Genesis, Dreamcast, game boy) they also carry board games and vinyls and some other things. Matt helped me and he gave me some insight on possibly getting a new used console so I can play some sport games. Thank you

I literally work across the street from this place and didnt know it existed. I could have spent a couple of hours in there just looking at everything, but I was starting to jump to more impulsive buys, when I only came in to browse GBA games. True gamer mecca. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and clearly explained their policies to me, knowing it was my first visit.

I went in one day to sell some pokemon cards and the dude that helped me out was great, he didnt try ripping me off he was fair with all the cards I sold them.. Really cool nice dude. So I go back in about a week later and some short haired brunette is working and she totally got over on me on alot of my cards. She said that if they werent worth more than 10$ she could only give me 10 cents for each card.. So my cards that were worth 7, 8, 9 bucks I got 10 cents for.. why didnt the first guy do me like that? He was cool and legit, the girl not so much.

Ive been wondering if game-stores such as this still exist.! Definitely delighted to find out they do —you just have to seek em out. Dont get me wrong Gamestops are good go-tos but Games Ahoy! Is where its at. They focus on large selections of SEGA|Playstation Gens|Nintendo Classics and more. If youre in need of retro 80s|90s|2000s consoles, accessories or games this is the spot. Service was great, they called in on a SNES at another location for me, that was much appreciated. Not to mention the Chiptune and 8bit soundtracks playing in store were legit.

These kind of retro video game shops are hard to come by these days... especially with as amazing inventory and prices as Games Ahoy! Both locations are fantastic.

Everytime I walk into the store the employees are friendly and I end up spending a fair chunk of money. It is semi expensive some games are fairly cheap, however they do sell old collectors editions of games. The atmosphere is really fun and exciting well worth even a visit.

If you are looking for a great place to find Old/Rare games, this is it. Everything in the store is reasonably priced because they know what things are worth. You wont see things overpriced for something bad or underpriced for something extremely great. Trading games in is also an excellent process, getting reasonable prices for your stuff while also being given a guarantee that youre purchases work. I drive about 1.5 hours from my house to go here and it is worth the trip every time.

Chicken was tough and service was slow

One of my favorite places ever. I go here and look around when Im happy or sad or if I just have some free time before my classes. There are magic cards, comic books, figures, extra rare items, and games for every system. There are games in box that are usually resealed to look and feel nice. The games without cases are in binders and 40% off which is amazing. The staff is very knowledgeable and so nice. And best of all its local!

Best game store around, great selection of older and new games. They are generous with trade in values, fair price for games if you want cash. Fun atmosphere too! The staff is always spectacular and willing to help!

Best place to buy video games in Northern Colorado.

We took our xbox in for a possible trade in and they deleted every game we had on it to download 2 new games and almost completely wiped the Xbox of everything. Also, instead of it taking the 30 min they told us it was 3 hours later that we had called them and it had just finished downloading a game apparently so we had to wait another 30 min before picking it up. They also only offered $120 for xbox, one brand new and one used remote, 2 headsets, and 3 popular games priced each at $40 or more used. Thank you for deleting 40 games and trying to take advantage of us.

Short haired brunette lady with glasses was very rude to my children and I, even told me the item I was purchasing was garbage. We go there about every 2 weeks but will not be doing so any longer. You do not talk to children the way she did. Very unprofessionalAs you can see from the owners response to mine and other peoples negative reviews, they justified their bad service. Every negative review involves rude staff. Clearly the owner has no intentions to correct the staffs attitude

Really nice people and they also know their stuff. Husband asked about a kind of obscure game (stunt racer FX) and they totally nailed it. Was even cool enough to show us the box art to make sure our was the right game

I walked it today because i found some old games at work. And there was a lady wearing glasses. I asked that if hey can clean games and right of the bat she was rube and said you can clean those yourself. Haha like i know how smh. Long time customer ill be back. They have a pretty large selection and decent prices . I also just went in and Kate went above and beyond by helping me test my equipment against theirs. That being said i found my main unit to be bad so i got a replacement while there. awesome service!

Absolutely the best game place around. Amazing selection, you can find just about anything you could be looking for, and they have super friendly staff. I cant understand the complaints about trade in prices. All the prices they have given me are better than any other place I have been to. I suspect the other reviewers thought their games were worth more than they actually are.

They have a large selection of used video games for all consoles, old and new. They also sell consoles and accessories from PS1 forward. They pay fair prices to buy your stuff too. Great place. I always go there first when I want something, even though its in Loveland and I have to drive from Greeley.

Games Ahoy is great! They have an enormous selection of old school NES, SNES, Sega, And all kinds of other video games from Atari to next gen systems. I liked their old location a little more because they had a nice section for Magic The Gathering, but it is all crammed in a small section in the very back now. Still awesome though! Good prices and you can always find good gaming stuff in the store.

Used to be my game store. Last time I was in I was just about to buy a limited edition new release when the enthusiastically knowledgeable employee I was being helped by was told to help someone else by a supervisor, (and yeah, it was embarassing. For BOTH of us) who then took over. This guy was beyond condescending, and responded to new game queries with bitterness about not owning the latest consoles. Sorry for being interested in what youre selling?!?!Im not unreasonable. But this wasnt a rush situation. The employees equaled the customers in number and I hadnt been obnoxious nor time consuming. I leave this review because on this day I was shopping for some games for my visiting nieces and nephews to play. If youre not a gamer, this is not the place to go.

If I had a better memory and more time I would thank them all by name, but I can barely remember where I left my keys this morning so most of the names are escaping me currently; but everyone I have dealt with has been knowledgeable and fantastic to do business with.I always get fantastic service at your stores but I wanted to especially thank the two gentlemen that helped me on 1/20/16 with my Retron 5. First the gentleman working the location near Walmart at about 10:20am, was super helpful with a complex issue I had with some hardware. He was able to contact GM Andy right away and had a solution for me in mere minutes. I was very impressed but forgot the gentlemans name unfortunately.Later Andy helped me out in person (an item was out of stock at the other store) and again exceeded my expectations by taking the time to test out the replacement component. As it turned out the first replacement did have a defect and by testing it first Andy ensured that the component I needed was in working order; saving me a trip.Today was just another great example of the fantastic service Games Ahoy and their staff commits themselves to. I can buy games a lot of places; I chose to buy at Games Ahoy because of the amazing people who work there.
