I am a huge Pokemon collector, and this store does more than disappoint. They mark up their products almost by 3x the normal MSRP. Although the selection of singles were good, but thats about the only positive thing here. Ive been to a ton of stores, as I originate in California, and theyre almost all the same. The small business excuse doesnt cut it. What were these guys doing before the whole scalping of Pokemon cards became a thing? DO NOT BUY THEIR POKEMON PRODUCTS, SAVE YOUR MONEY.

I recently went into this store and I must say the lady working there is very helpful and made me feel welcome and their store was nicely situated. However, I was crunched for time. After spending about 20-30 minutes selecting comics I was looking for, I left without any of them because they had to look up every single comic instead of pricing them beforehand. I understand that comic value varies over time, however, I should not have my time wasted while the employees are looking up the price.Recommendations to improve customer service:1. Tell customers upon entering your system and to provide you with comics as soon as possible to enable your employees look up prices ahead of check out and to avoid wasting the customers time when checking out.2. Enable your employees to negotiate on your behalf (even if just 10%) if a price seems unreasonable or if they would like to pay a lower price.3. Put prices on the comics beforehand to make it easy.Wish you and this store the best. If you have the time, worth checking out after they tweak a couple things.

I go about once a month, as I live in a different town, but the drive is well worth it. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about everything they sell. I go for the comics but they have tons of cards and vintage toys as well. The staff remember me each time and Taryn is extremely informed on comics old and new. The owners are there sometimes and they are helpful and friendly as well. Prices are excellent on the single issues, including hot book from modern age and back. One of my favorite spots in colorado.

I have gone to this shop many a times made many purchases there, not to bad of a shop with huge variety. What gets me down about this shop is the fact I have now gone online and see everything I have bought I could have gotten for half price.... seems pretty shady, I get store like this need to make money to stay a float these days but 110% mark up come on 110% will just be going online from here on out. Friendly personal til you see behind the smoke and mirrors.

Rushed after work from Longmont to get there before 6pm closing time. Showed up at 5:55pm to make my purchase and leave. The younger guy had closed everything and turned off all the lights, and was locking the door to leave. I told him I drove all the way from Longmont to be there, he said he already closed the register. He begrudgingly let me come in and give him my hard earned money. He was a jerk. Pretty lazy if you can’t wait till 6pm to close. I really like this place though. I buy a lot of stuff here

Very disappointing. I have been In the store several times and as of yet have ever had them buy a single item. I know its up to the merchant but still. I would suggest going to other card shops first if you have things you would like to sell cause these guys may just waste a couple hours of your time for nothing.

Waited in line 15 minutes, no one came to help. When the the 2nd person did come to help they started at the back of the line and what I waited on was taken immediately. Would not recommend and will not be back.

I was greeted nicely and asked to sell my Pokémon cards the man asked the woman to look at the cards she said no I will not buy cards i just spent 800 dollars on Pokémon cards I will never go back here. Custmer service was not good

Comic guy acted mightier than thou. He knows his comics and he doesnt care if you buy anything. All he wants to do is play card games. The prices on comics are ridiculously expensive but this is a publisher problem. Trying to get into comics is hard because you want to start at the beginning but its just not possible. I will probably go again if I cant find the comic I want online.

Never thought I would get back into collecting after such a long drought (20+ years), but caught the big recently after diving into my old card collection. Cards arent what they used to be (cough cough... price), but still fun to collect if you can spare the change (or trade in your old car for cash).Grand Slam is excellent. A business that has stayed in business despite disposable money dying out around the late 90s into the 2000s. O cant quite find information on how long theyve been in business, but regardless of that for a comic/card store to stay in business even now with high rents/leases is quite remarkable.The staff is excellent, knowledgeable and Ive only had good experiences with them. The only knock I would have (and this is probably just me) is a slight lack of interest in older cards/players. But hey, I get it. Boxes now come with only 25-50 cards in them, while in the 90s the came with 200+. Collecting is a young mans game now and the interest lies with the youth. Which is super cool to see kids enjoying it like I did.

Always there to help you find the entertainment you want, never go out empty handed. Sometimes they dont got specific comics, but they try to direct you to where you can find them.

Have been there multiple times to get sports cards. This last time he told me he couldnt do it right then. It didnt help telling him I came from a ways away. Said I would have to wait until his helper came. Wanted to help out small business. But apparently not worth it to him. That was the last time I will go there.

First visit to this store in Loveland and was made to feel as though I was really bothering the guy at the counter when I asked a couple of questions. He got a pained look and gave me a heavy sigh when he had to get out of his chair to get an item for me to purchase. No great loss though. Not much of a sports selection anyway - I wont be back.

Great! This shop participates in free comic book Saturday. My nerdy little family had a fantastic time wandering aisles. Got some Pokemon cards and some mystery baseball card grab bags. (and dont forget the free comics) Staff was super nice and BEYOND knowledgeable.

The owner was very friendly and interacted with all customers regardless of age. I overheard a very educational lesson regarding a young boys first experience visiting a sports card store and some helpful dos and donts of trading with absolutely no pressure to buy a thing. Really great selection of comics! I could spend all day in there looking around. However, most of backstock was not priced and it was very misleading. You head up to the register to check out and the guy starts looking up prices on Ebay and you end up paying more than you expect. If prices were marked it wouldnt be that big of a deal because then you would know what youre paying.

This guy is a ripoff. Ill never shop there again. I bought cards from him and took them and looked them up and come to find out that he charged me double the price.

I used to frequent card game tournaments here, and if I didnt move Id still be going. Nice shop, lots of variety

I dont collect or play cards but I do collect comics. This is the best place in Loveland to pick up a specific book. If they dont have it, they can likely find for it quickly. Reasonable prices, competitive to the market.

The store is stocked full of comics and games, tons of cards for magic, pokemon, yugioh and many others, plus they host tournaments for many games, the owner is very knowledgeable about all their products and can offer advice on anything in the store, they also have a large selection of sports cards, great place to hang out, very friendly place

This place is nostagia for me. As a collector of really obscure card games, it is great to me that they still carry some of these. I also collect baseball cards so its the best of both worlds! Great staff with a wealth of knowledge. Pulled a great Chris Bryant rookie autograph here! Next time you are in loveland, stop in here if you are a sports fan and/or gamer.

This place is loaded(and I mean loaded!!!!) With tons of really cool stuff! I personally prefer collecting football cards, magic the gathering, and pokemon cards and they have all that there! Tons of old cards to look through as well as a huge variety of new and old packs and hobby boxes! Highly reccomend this place to any card collector to check out! If you are looking for comics they have so many there as well as board games, D&D stuff and more! Really an awesome local busines . And the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly!

This store has a good collection of comics. Only downside is the service. At this store you will find it is to much to ask where you can find certain comics. When you call for anything you can just feel they are annoyed by your questions. The store manager is LAZY and speaks down to people. He also loves to walk away while youre asking him questions. The only thing he is willing to help you with is taking your money. If the female employee is there then you should have a good experience she is very nice and helpful. Its really too bad I will have to turn to online shopping unless I can find a better shop.

Update from my last review awhile ago. Ive recently gotten to know the workers at this store and their other store in Greeley and have come to appreciate their service and what they have to offer to the comic book community. Definitely worth checking out for all your comic needs.

I dont want to put too much energy in this review, because its not worth it, but I want to make potential customers aware of the experience they might have here. Ive given this place 3 strikes and now its completely out. Owner or however the guy who works there needs to get a personality and learn how to treat customers, and potential repeat customers, with some courtesy and respect. Not only has he been condensing and talked down to me, Ive heard him do it to other people as well. Not a friendly place.

I have a son that I have been taking here since he was 6 to play yugioh. Now he is 9 and starting his own comic collection. The young lady we usually see is always helpful and treats my son like a special little customer, even having books held for us when we arrive. The tradition of the Comic Shop is part of my childhood and thanks to Grand Slam it part of my sons as well.

Awesome place. The employees are really helpful and the owner definitely as well. They have one the best selections for board games, Pokémon, Magic, and baseball cards. They have a great selection of comics (older and newer).

Great stock, great prices, always helpful. I go here 2-3 times each year when I am in town from out of state. I look forward to it. Very attentive even though they are often busy when Im there.

Been there twice since i like to support local shops. Both times i stopped by there was a sticky note on the door with an apology for being closed on such short notice. How does a business stay IN business if they arent ever open? Oh well, Gryphons in FoCo is nice and they are open when they say they are.

I have been going to Grand Slam for 15 years and have always found it to be great. The guys really know their comics and can always be relied upon for a good recommendation and its a fun environment to sit down and play some games as well.

Jason is very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions, they have a great DND selection, the comic trades I wanted, and I got an AMAZING American Standard Mega Plumber Action Hero figure.
