Great range with a nice staff, along with great classes and instructors for concealed license courses being offered on campus (class and testing on-site).

After my firearm store and range closed permanently outta nowhere I was in search of something else bad and I found Hammer Down Range just in time! They have a great staff and a nice indoor range with bays and lanes! They dont have a consistent full selection of firearms, because firearms seem to come and go very quickly! (Its a good thing) Its a buy and sell, buy and sell kind of firearm business!!! The way it should be. Other than being blind sided when I went to the range for the first time with a $63.00 bill because of the one time fee of like $50. I honestly think that when I called to check on the prices for the range that it was just a misunderstanding. Its all good though, because its definitely worth it and I still love the place!

So hot i could barely breath on the range. I got my gun jammed and asked the large guy for help. He said he would come in a minute and he never came.

The range here is fantastic. And the people are better. If the store is busy, you may have to wait a few minutes to be helped, but the staff more than makes up for it with warm and friendly service. The staff is very knowledgeable, and they can help you find exactly what you need. I have been in there a few times. When I come in the staff recognizes me by name (for those reading this in the future, I am writing this during COVID times, which makes this all the more impressive as they recognized me while wearing a mask). This alone has ensured that I will continue to come back to this store in the future. Thanks for the great service!

Hammer down range is a awesome facility. Very clean the employees are very knowledgeable helpful and willing to answer any questions you have. As you know right now The United States is selling firearms at a record pace hammer down does a very good job to keep a decent stock of firearms in if not you can ask them and they can see if they can get it for you. Bought a brand new 1911 from hammerdown range and it hasnt functioned properly since day one. consistently jams since the day I bought it. i brought this up to hammerdown the day I purchased it because it malfunctioned during the free half hour of range time they give you when purchasing a new gun, they wouldnt do anything for me besides telling me to send it to their gunsmith but I would have to pay for the repair, reluctantly I gave it to them to send to their gunsmith, just wanting ti have the problem resolved. I went 2 weeks without so much as a phone call, finally after getting fed up. I called them, and to my disbelief they told me they hadnt even looked at it yet. Ive left a review on fb hoping they would make it right but they never even responded.

Just visited for the first time and will definitely be back. Great facility, very helpful and friendly folks. Likely my new go to range! Thank you ♥️

Went in with my son on Friday July 10th. This was his first time going to a range. Ive been there several times with friends over the last 3 or 4 years and always spend upwards of $75 on rentals, ammo and accessories. Im not going to hate on these guys or put them down by giving them 1 star, but I am a veteran of the US Marines & I have the Marine Corps insignia the Eagle Globe & Anchor in bright colors inside the center of my wallet that I thought was hard to miss but apparently it was because I was never asked one time if I was a veteran, or If I wanted to join their membership club by any of the staff who has previously worked there before.My son and I came in for some stress relief about 4:30 give or take. We went to the rental counter and I cant think of the guys name, but when we got a box of ammo and some targets he asked to see my card. I had previously lost it & asked if he could look it up by name. He looked me up and was adding up everything we had gotten and somehow I guess he noticed my wallet and told me he was a Marine vet as well. He then noticed I wasnt a member and showed me the brochure pointing out to me what I could get as a member and how much I could save.I would like to thank the 4 employees working on the 10th. Especially the lady that helped me in processing the sale and my Devil Dog Brother. You guys are awesome !! My son had a great time and we will definitely be long time customers. Thank you Hammer Down Range !!

I’d give Logan at Hammer Down 100 stars ⭐️ If I could! We went in with three of our boys and were a bit nervous not knowing much about guns. He explained the entire sign up process and went above and beyond helping out when we went into the range. He took time out to show the boys how to hold, shoot, and load, the gun. He had so much patience and you can tell he loves his job. I would highly recommend Hammer Down Range to everyone! Great experience and the kids loved it! Will be going back very soon. Customer service is top notch. Wasnt expecting to buy a gun that day, but with the knowledge and customer service we decided to not only purchase one gun but two. Highly recommend, about the best gun shop in Goshen/Milford area.

Great place to take the ccw class. The instructor Thomas is a really great and made the 8 hour experience tolerable . There is nothing harder than to sit and read slides for 6+ hours... however he made it fun and had us engage with him to make it much easier to handle. Probably the best range I’ve shot in here in Ohio. Prices were as expected on guns and ammo. For myself and my wife the class cost $140 compared to the $240 I got quoted at point blank and that was with me having a membership. All in all great class. Great range and great instructor.

Super great place to get some range time in. The employees were easy going and really cared about my buddies and I having a good time. Shout out to Logan too. I absolutely love this place!! Everything is super nice inside the store, very friendly and informative staff and on a personal note, Hammer Down Range was the first and last time I got my dad out of the house to go shooting with me before he passed this year so I’ll always remember that! He was a Veteran and when they found that out they treated him with the upmost respect! And I can’t thank them enough for that! I’m a lifetime customer!!!

Went to Hammer Down to take a First time Shooters class. Logan was my instructor and after he took the time to find out my experience and reasons for taking the class he suggested an option that was more suited for my goals. This saved me quite a bit a time and money. Logan was awesome to work with. He was patient, informative and answered all my questions. I left there informed, confident and cant wait to return for my CCW and becoming more proficient with my new handgun.

Went in today with a group for a machine gun shoot - it was a great experience that every shooter should try at least once. We brought some pistols with us and ended up staying for a couple of hours. The staff were all very nice and friendly - I had forgotten my magazines so they let me borrow one. Safety was a top priority - as it should be. The facility was very clean and organized. Today was just an all around great experience. I will definitely be going back for a class or two and to hit the range.

Hammer Down is, in my opinion, the best gun shop in Cincinnati. They easily have the best customer service of any shop or range that I’ve been too. They also have good prices on ammo and accessories. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone.

Place was nice & clean; prices were great. The thing that kept this from being 5 stars for me was the way we were treated by one staff member. My wife and I had just finished up a 30-min session on the range and were looking at some holsters. He pointed to me and said “hey bud!” When I looked around, he said, “Yeah, you. Don’t rapid fire when on the range unless you have permission.” I was pretty surprised - neither my wife nor I rapid fire when we’re shooting, as a general rule. And, there were big signs posted that clearly stated “no rapid fire without permission.” I said, “it definitely wasn’t us!” And all he could say was “oh, I couldn’t really see who it was.”

Helpful staff. Stalls are easy to use. Maybe a little more air movement to help clear out the smoke. Overall it was worth the money. Had a good time

The thing that makes this place, is the staff. They are helpful, polite, and never rude or condescending. Whether you are a expert, or a beginner, Hammer Down Range is great. They have a very respectable selection of both accessories and guns, and are happy to order anything they dont have in stock. The range facility and lounge are also brand new, and were well thought out for safety and comfort.

Just drove an hour out of my way to buy a Glock. Was stated a certain price out the door from Greg over the phone. When I got there of course that price was not good and Greg was not there. They would not honor the price and let me walk out with nothing. I own a business and understand a lot but don’t let your customers walk out with nothing at least offer some range time, a hat, hell anything! Will never go back

They also have quite a selection of firearms, accessories, and ammunition. If you haven’t been, you need to check it out. If you have been, then look no further. I have been shooting here since they opened, i have never had any problems. Hammer Down Range has some of the best staff iv dealt with in the area. I had a good laugh with some friends after reading some of the bad reviews on here. I feel bad for these guys having to put up with google giving you a platform to breath idiocy into the world.

Machine Gun Club? What Machine Guns do you offer for rental? What are the rental Prices. You claim to be THE FIRST....perhaps you need to do your homework before making such bold statements.

Whatever you do be sure to have a tight grip on your own personal gun or they will snatch it right out of your hands. We went in to try out a couple of holsters. To ensure the fit we took the gun out momentarily and before we could test the fit an employee came up and snatched the gun right out of my hand. There wasnt a request or warning or anything, just grabbed it away from me. A similar experience happened with my son who was shopping for a gun for his wife. They kept telling him he wanted something different when he got his gun out to show them he wanted a gun just like his. An employee came up beside him and snatched it out of his hand. All I can say is for a place that portrays themselves as gun experts their knowledge of gun safety is very limited. I know to never grab a gun out of someones hand, its a good way to end up in the weapon being discharged.

I agree with another reviewer on this page. Thomas is the type of gun shop person it always sucks to run into. The “I smarter than you because I work in a gunshop” type that gets mad and walks away when point out they are wrong. This is the reason gunshops are poor places to get new shooters into the sport. Unfriendly and arrogant staff. I gave two starts because the other staff I had contact with were friendly and helpful but if Thomas is the go to guy I will go to somewhere else.

I have been going to Hammer down range for almost 1 1/2 years. I do agree with Mr. Smith to some degree that across the nation most gunshop owners/employees customer service can be a bit more ridged compared to other service industries, but you are dealing with firearms! So you cannot rate the whole facility on one individual if more then 90% of the facility and its staff are friendly and offering goods services.That being said and to comment on Mr. P Poops, I have bought buckets of spent brass at different gun ranges around the tri-state over the years. None of them allow you to sort through spent brass on premises. I do not understand why you continued to ask additional staff members about spent brass when you had already received a response from the individual you were instructed to speak to about their process.

I must say, these chaps are great. I was in the area for a meeting and some of the gentlemen i was meeting with frequent this establishment, being from the UK this was my first time shooting any kind of guns. They took the time to show me the ins and outs of getting started, i will admit that after reading a couple of the bad reviews i was a little pensive about it but im glad i gave it a try. I have another trip coming up and will definitely be going in. Top notch.

I went there to buy holster. I was told there on the back wall but theyre all mixed up. When I couldnt find it they offered no help. I guess purchasing a holster is not enough money to require them to service you as a customer. There was no one else in the store at the time. My new Ar10 will not be purchased here. I like Becks anyway.

A great place to shoot and shop, most of the staff are very friendly and helpful, and even the ones who seem less friendly are knowledgeable. The only thing im not thrilled by is the range.Im just not a fan of ranges that dont have a range official keeping a watch on all the shooters. I know there is a camera to watch but id feel better if someone was there to correct new shooters or people unfamiliar with range etiquette.In response to reviews where people are acting appalled at getting their gun snatched out of their hands or being told not to rapid fire. That is actually a positive for these guys to be pro active in keeping people safe, and anyone who thinks that they should be allowed to test fit a holster without talking to the owners or operators of the store shouldnt even be carrying a weapon in public.

Update: forgot to actually put details in my reviews so here it goes and this is over several visits and I will try to break each one out1st visit: this was prior to new building. Needed to have a gun repaired Uberti 45LC and the service was great and they did good work.2nd and 3rd: I requested to have 2 guns ordered. Pricing was good and they were really fast with delivery etc.4th: my wife inquired to have a gun ordered and the individual that does that was out at the time and no one returned her call so she ordered somewhere else ($1800)5th: purchased a CCW Xmas special for a friend. When he went to use it they had zero paperwork. The management figured it out but not units 2 days later. Still all was good just inconvenient but no big deal.6th: was looking for a specific glock model that they didn’t have in stock however I notice they had a used glock mode 21 that had some extras hence the elevated price they were asking. The employee did not represent the modifications on the gun correctly specifically the improved trigger...tried to feed me a line of BS to justify the high price. Of coarse a shop can ask anything they want it’s there stock just didn’t appreciate being treated like a novice which clearly I was not.7th: used the range for the first time and it was a pleasant experience plenty of targets to buy and I found ammo to be reasonable for a range.My only other comment is gun safety as I have read several people discuss it in these reviews. If you are going to visit a shop and you are bringing a gun...it just easier to put in a case unloaded slide open etc.

I gotta give Logan and the crew at hammerdown a big thanks! If any of you guys need advice or have any questions. Hes the first i always ask for when i call or go in. If I could give more than 5 stars i sure would. They have fair prices and a sweet gun range to use. I also forgot to mention you can get your ccw out of the way there to. Which is a nice topping on what all they can do for you there at hammerdown. So dont wait and go on over for all your gun needs and wants.
