Our boat rental (highly recommended when staying on Winni) was flawless. Goodhue is a business that employs a cadre of high school/college students for the summer who know their stuff and gain valuable experience while making the boat rental process painless. Give them your biz!

I bought an X 55 in August 2020 and was fitted with a trailer that damage the boat while we were waiting for a new trailer that we were told was going to be a Mastercraft trailer, which it wasn’t by the time we got it. The trailer never came that season so they stored the boat for us until they got the trailer which happened to be the entire winter. While the boat was with them I had a couple service issues that they were going to fix including an oil change and the speedometer wasn’t working. Finally in May They told me it was ready after they were working on some Ballast timing issues, even though we didn’t have any ballast problems when we dropped it off. I pick the boat up and drove 100 miles home, put it in the water to find out that the speedometer wasn’t fixed, my aft bilge pump no longer works, the center ballast will fill but not drain, the two rear ballast will not fill or drain, and whoever detailed the boat went over the 3-D Mastercraft logo with their orbital tool and burned all of the edges of it on the starboard side. Also, the bottom of the boat that was damaged by the original trailer they gave us needed to be fixed which they did fix but it’s falling apart from being in the water all season so they obviously didn’t do a good job with the repair. It seems like they did this to me because I’m from Maine and they knew I wouldn’t be coming back with these issues because I’d lose my boat for the whole season. Either way It was a completely awful experience and if you can purchase a boat somewhere else I would strongly advise you to!

Customer experience is priority for Goodhue and it shows!!We arrived early, well-prepared for a great day on the lake to celebrate our son’s birthday. This included numerous family members from out-of-town who were ready for a fun day on the lake.To our dismay, a miscommunication regarding boating licensure when booking nearly ruined our day- and more importantly our son’s birthday.While the issue kept us on land for nearly 2 extra hours, the issue was finally resolved. And throughout staff were amazing!They were very helpful, patient, and understanding! Due to the delay they allowed us extra time in the lake, past their normal closing hours!! Additionally, they did not charge us for fuel, which was completely unexpected.As if that wasn’t enough, when we arrived back at the dock (after an amazing day on the lake) staff greeted us with a birthday gift for our son and a chorus of ‘Happy Birthday’!Thank you for going above and beyond to fix a mistake. We will be back!!

Be aware: you will be charged $100 for any day of your multi-day booking that is completely rained out/unused. Goodhue: Please don’t tell us you’re sorry for bad weather (or some other comment geared to a four year old child). Work on your customer policies. Profiting from the misfortune of any customer (in our case the remnants of a tropical storm) is NEVER a good idea. Otherwise the day we actually got to use the rental was a good experience.

We had issues with our rental equipment on the day of our boat/tube rental and it was a disappointment of an experience. However, the next day I was contacted by one of the owners of Goodhue who did everything he could to make things right. No business is going to have 100% perfect customer service but you do want to go somewhere the owners and management will address issues and deal with tough customer service situations. I appreciate the time and effort put into our situation and hope we can return and rent from Goodhue again. Thank you for making a tough situation turn out great.

Rented a boat for 3rd of July. Going to be terrible weather (55 degrees and all rain) I told them I was willing to change the date to next weekend. The boat would not be rented on a bad day like that anyway. They explained they would move the day but we’re going to charge me $100 “processing fee” honestly, not even about the money but come on… 55 degrees and rain!!! Work with me guys. They said, “we allow the boats to go out in the rain” HA!I for sure won’t be back which is unfortunate because we rent 10 times a year minimum.Make sure you can see the weather 14 days in advance or be prepared to pay the fee. They need to work on their policies.

I had an issue with my boat mid-Sunday afternoon. Jeremy was very responsive and sent a crew over to look at the boat. They worked on my boat at my dock and then at the marina. It turned out to be a difficult problem to diagnose. But I am grateful I was able to get their attention late on a Sunday to address it. And start the process of getting the boat fixed.

I wish we could give less than one star. They dont even deserve one star. We rented a pontoon bost for the July 4th weekend. Three days before we were supposed to pick up the boat; I called to confirm. They told me they didnt have a boat to give us. Note that thay had already chaeged our credit card. We had company coming. I have been working with the team at Goodhue since 2009 and they are great. Bill has always taken care of me while he was head of service, and I was a little nervous when he shifted to another position. But Jeremy is the man and Im excited to work with him going forward!

Ive rented with them a couple of times uneventfully however on my most recent trip upon return of the rental they pointed out that the fin on the bottom of the motor was scratched and would need to be sanded out. I attempted to explain to them that we hadnt even been in water shallow enough for anything to scratch the fin, however at that point I only had my word to go on. I would recommend anyone who rents here not to get swept up in getting people on the boat and getting everyone on the water and instead making sure to document every part of the boat, even the most minor things.The people who are staffing the dock are mostly kids working summer jobs, which there is no problem with, just know that this isnt their primary focus for the summer but rather a way to make some money. If they miss something, youll have to eat the cost on it.This could just be one bad experience at an otherwise good rental company, so its still worth considering them, just be ready to pay extra if you miss something. Its a good idea to try out different rental companies on Winnipesaukee so you can get an idea of whats out there. Even if youve had a good experience, Id encourage trying different services to compare them and get an idea of what to expect and not get sucked in to one companys way of doing things.

Rental boats are in very good shape, reservations on website are easy, and service is very good. RENTAL HEADS UP: it takes about an hour to get on the water from when you show up. Also, the marina is tight for space, beginning captains might want to rent out of their Meredith location, much easier to navigate in and out than the Wolfeboro location.

Worst customer service experience ever. I book a the largest bowrider they had for the 4th of July on. 5.15.2021. The call in a few days later to ask about the tubs and attractions in the area. Upon calling in my 2 appointments was still in good standing. Until 4:30pm. 6.28.2021 my appointment for the 4th of July is canceled. I explained to the guy that my family was look forward to the date on the water. Is there any way we can remedy this or something. He was rude as hell and kept saying no. How do they cancel on a appointment that was booked 2 months in advance.After I could not get them to keep the 4th of July appointment I ask to cancel the appointment on the 24th also. He told me that there is a fee for that of 150

We have worked with her for the third year now, she’s very honest and straightforward answering your questions and there to make sure you have a great vaca!! Same with the rest of the staff! I called about a problem with my boat, they told me they could look into it and fix the issue. I drove 2 hours to get it looked at, they then told me that they “didn’t have the software” to even try and plug into the boats computer. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.

Have a boat rented for this July 4th weekend and I called to try to either cancel, receive a future credit, or move my rental to another day in the future because of the bad weather that is predicted. Apparently even if it’s raining or there is a monsoon they force you to go out or pay for the boat even though it’s not safe to use. What a terrible rental policy. Will never be renting from them again!!

Over charged for something me and friends had happened by accident .. and this place took a big advantage of it . Never ever going to this place and don’t recommend anyone rather they claim they don’t even have insurance if anything happens . Rented a boat over the weekend and reserved a tube as well.. the boat and tube was reserved a month ahead of time. After waiting about 45 minutes for the boat that had been at the dock the entire morning, we were informed that they did not have the proper clip for the ropes in order for the tube to be towed behind the boat. After 30 more minutes of a staff member searching.. we were told the only thing that could be done is a refund for the tube. Unfortunately when several kids are promised tubing with an 8 hour rental of boating.. telling the kids we got a refund DOES NOT suffice. Very disappointed. We should have been notified beforehand that there was an issue, not while sitting on the boat waiting. Lost an hour and a half worth of boating and no tubing. Will definitely look elsewhere next time.

Very good customer service

Got to the dock at 9:20, its now 10:20! Still no boat!!! The young staff are overwhelmed by boat renters and its apparent that their organization of this is beyond them! My guess is a 90 minute wait to get on a boat we rented a month ago!!! Their only answer is were doing the best we can. They offer no money off our rental and suggest that we continue to wait patiently! So were basically paying $75 per hour to wait patiently????? What a joke!!!

Jeff in parts is awesome. Provided top line service when we were in need of assistance. Would recommend anyone who needs help with their boat to come here and ask for Jeff.

If I could leave a zero star I would. We waited over an hour for our boat to be ready and it was sitting on the dock already. We paid for an engine upgrade and it’s far from an upgrade to tube with. After we loaded the boat up we were notified that they didn’t have the tow rope for our boat. We waited another 20 minutes for the guy to try and find one and when he couldn’t he got the manager who was complaining unwilling to work with us other than to refund us for just the tube rental. Which was the entire reason why we rented the boat with the kid for my brothers birthday. now this was rented over a month ago and still can’t figure out why they wouldn’t have everything ready for when we got here. I will never be renting from the place again and I strongly urge other people to look elsewhere for a better customer service experience

I echo the sentiment from the reviewer before about Jeff in parts. I have an older Mastercraft and hes done an exceptional job getting me the parts I need. Many of them had to come from the factory.He also did me a solid referring me to someone they use for a service. He easily could have taken the boat in, marked up the service. Its honesty like this that will make me a return customer.

While only a recent GH customer, Ive been boating for well over 40 years. In all that time, Jeff in Parts stands out as one of the best marine professionals Ive done business with. Hes been a great resource - generous with his time, experience and recommendations. Jeffs a pleasure to do business with and has earned my future parts business.I want to add to this review to include the exceptional experience we had with Brian Black in Sales. We purchased our new Cobalt from GH in Nov 2019. Brian was the most patient and affable salesperson Ive ever dealt with. No pressure whatsoever . Extremely knowledgeable about the product, the lake and boating in general. Like Jeff in parts, he was extremely generous with his time. While this was true for all aspects of our purchase - negotiation, build process and delivery, it was especially valuable during delivery. I asked hundreds of questions on every aspect of the boat. Brian carefully and expertly answered everyone of them. He made us feel like we were the only people he had to talk to that day (which I knew was not the case). He gave us all the time we needed to get comfortable with the boat and that was immensely helpful.. I absolutely recommend you talk to Brian if a boat purchase is in your future.

A 2 month reservation get canceled with no explanation.

We did a single day boat rental on the 4th of July. I assume this would be one of their busiest days, but you would hardly know based on how smooth everything went from arrival to departure. The boat was in excellent condition as well - looking forward to renting again soon!

Awesome experience with the Goodhue folks. Beautiful boat and great customer service. The launch works on a first come, first serve basis so try to get there earlier (8ish) to get thru the 1/2 hr or so of paperwork, launch, and quick run thru of boat. Thanks Goodhue!

Incredibly disrespectful to other’s property.If you care about your boat don’t let them touch it. Probably ok to rent one theirs for a day.

It youre going to buy a Cobalt and hope to get good service on lake Winni Id suggest save yourself possible grief buy it here and service it here.These guys are polite and knowledge able and somehow we go there and all the service folks know our names, thats amazing.Its not the most convenient situation from Paugus Bay but the trip is worth avoiding potential aggravation having warranty work and other service done closer to home.

My first thought in writing this review is that everything I could think of has already been said by other reviewers, however, as most of them are two years old, it is worth noting that there has been no slacking of service over the intervening years. I have rented boats from others marinas in the past and agree that Goodhue & Hawkins is second to none. As I am an out-of-state visitor, I appreciated the fact that staff tested my knowledge before letting me take the certification test. I was also pleased when given a lake chart to use, while other marinas required a purchase. And this extra measure of service was obvious in checking out our boat where thoroughness was combined with speed in getting us out onto the lake in a minimum amount of time. My hat is off to a very well run operation.

Boat was hit in slip on more than one occasion. The GM explained to me this is to be expected! WHAT?!!A week or so later I came to use my boat to find another boat in my slip and my boat on a mooring with batteries dead from fridge running with no shore power. AWESOME!!These people are unbelievably disrespectful to others property.

Ive know the staff at G & H for many years and believe they are all terrific individuals who work hard to provide outstanding service. I always find them to be nothing but pleasant and helpful. The facility has had major renovations in the last 10 years and they are fast becoming one of the finest marinas on the lake.

Jeff in the Parts department was an amazing help with a warranty item on my boat and I am really happy with the level of personal investment and service from them.

Rented there a few times in the past. Dropped in my own boat at their launch this summer. Had a loud, unfamiliar alarm sound as soon as I turned the engine on (wasnt even off the trailer). Service tech who was 50 feet away dropped what he was doing, brought over a bottle of gear oil and told me to top it off. Alarm stopped, crisis averted. Will continue to frequent this marina for the great location and better people.

My family and I have been going to Goodhue & Hawkins for many years now and would not even dream of going to another marina. The staff, from the dockhands to the manager are friendly, knowledgeable and have always gone above and beyond for us. Customer service, which seems like a dying art in so many places these days, is the hallmark of this business. We rent a boat every summer (I have grown up on boats), and I can say without hesitation that the Cobalt (the line of boats they carry) is exceptional. Going up to the lake and seeing our friends at Goodhue & Hawkins is the highlight of our entire year and from the moment we pack up our car and head home, we count the days to our return. Five stars doesnt seem adequate ...theyre the best at what they do.

Without argument the finest marina on Lake Winnipesaukee. Friendly and professional staff from the upper management all the way to the front lines of any marina - the staff working the docks/desk/service department and the pros that run the valet service lifts. The owners have reinvested heavily into the business in recent years and it is obvious as soon as you pull into the facility. New storage barns, service areas and docks which showcase thier fleet of new Cobalts in style make any trip here an enjoyable one. Have been a customer (service, storage, slip) for almost 20 years and my extended family for almost 65 years. It is not the largest marina on the lake by any means, but in this setting that is a great thing. It creates a fantastic environment where you are comfortable in that they know and care about you, your family and most importantly your boat! Highly recommend them and encourage anyone to contact or visit them to see for themselves. No drama. Just fun. Now if only they could find a way to keep the lake from freezing in the Winter.....

I have been a customer at Goodhue and Hawkins since I moved to Wolfebro almost 10 years ago. I have rented docks from them, I often rent boats form their fleet, and purchase my marine supplies in their showroom. I also store my boat there each winter and rely on their service department to keep my boat in tip-top shape all summer long. Steve Durgan and his team makes boating a real pleasure.

I’m excited to write a review of Goodhue & Hawkins because it’s the best marina on Winnipesaukee and also because it’s the middle of winter so all I want to think about is getting back on the lake. I’ve been a customer for many years and I actually worked there as a summer job as a kid. It’s incredible to go in and see so many familiar faces of people who are still customers after all this time. For years whenever my family’s old boat was having issues or I needed something bigger for entertaining visitors I would reserve from their high end rental fleet. I don’t know of any marina that rents boats as nice as Cobalts and the management and staff are always friendly and easy to work with. Last season our old Four Winns was finally replaced with a brand new Cobalt A25 we purchased at Goodhue. We absolutely love it and working with the sales team was a great stress free experience. You often hear of people who work at restaurants that won’t eat the food or at car dealers but drive a different brand. Having been both an employee and now a long time customer I can definitely say there’s no place else I’d trust to service and take care of my boat.
