This boot shop is the Best in the West Texas area in my personal opinion.They do excellent custom boots of all kinds and at an affordable price. If you have boots or other leather goods to have fixed or shined up come in here and let them fix you up.I found him and explained my foot problems to him and he has helped my feet more than even the doctors could. My wife has bunions on both feet and he even made custom boots for her that are built to let the bunions relax instead of being cramped in her shoes.You can also find them at the Fredericksburg TX Trade Days on the 3rd Saturday of each month.

I got the soles and heels replaced on my Lucchese boots as well as other minor repairs, and James Leddy Boots did an amazing job. Came back looking better than new! Very happy with the results and at a great price!

I have been a customer for 30+ yrs, custom boots are the best. Always send my boots for full soles and heels, turnaround time is fast. James Leddy boots are the GREATEST.

Only received 1 star because I couldnt write the review without it! These people will steal your deposit money if given the chance! Not to mention the prices they charge for a pair of boots is crazy high for such poor design work. (1200+ A PAIR) Also, the price they tell you at the beginning will NOT remain the same until the end! Youll end up being charged hundreds more!I made the mistake of ordering a custom pair of boots because on the surface this seems like a decent business... PLEASE BE AWARE THEY THINK THEY CAN RANDOMLY KEEP YOUR DEPOSIT MONEY FOR ANY REASON EVEN IF THEY ARE THE ONES WHO DECIDE TO NO LONGER MAKE YOUR BOOTS! This is in CLEAR violation of consumer rights.Okay, so I go through the back and forth via email only (THEY NEVER ACTUALLY CALL) about the design of my boots. Any time I tried calling in, the person who was working on my stuff wouldnt be there and Id have to leave a message. Same song and dance if I tried going to the store 80% of the time.Anyhow, about half way through their production I stop in to make a payment. I take a quick look and snap a photo because I was pressed for time. I asked a couple questions about design tweaking but they said, right then, no changes could be made! Hmm... ok, so when I got home I noticed they really butchered the stitch pattern. I sent them an already made pair of boots to copy the pattern.. it was as though they had enlarged it, cutting it off almost half way and then the lower cut it off further! It looked very unprofessional. I sent an email asking about this and whatd they do?! Were not prepared to continue with these boots and further stated they were going to keep 200!! When THEY decided to stop production. There was no discussion.. no heres why this happened... no LETS MAKE IT RIGHT just a jump to OH WELL WERE KEEPING YOUR MONEY!!VERY ARGUMENTATIVE AND THEY HAVE NO PROBLEM RESORTING TO OUTRIGHT LIES TO TRY AND COME OUT SMELLING LIKE A ROSE! But I can smell the stink from here.. They could care LESS about their customers! That is CLEAR. They kept harping on my visit, and that I didnt notice right then WHEN THEY ALREADY SAID NO CHANGES COULD BE MADE RIGHT THEN AND THERE IN THE STORE. I emailed them right away when I noticed within a day of my visit to the store! BUT THE POINT IS, WHETHER I HAD NOTICE RIGHT THEN AND THERE OR 10 MINUTES LATER THEY WERE NEVER GOING TO FIX IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.DO NOT GET TRAPPED BY THESE PEOPLE. A CUSTOM PAIR OF BOOTS SOUNDS NICE, BUT DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF STEPPING FOOT IN THIS PLACE! Find honest folks to make you a pair. PLEASE READ AND HEED THE OTHER 1 STAR REVIEWS!

Have had 5 pairs made by Al and he does FANTASIC work!! All the details i wanted in each pair was there like i had asked. My family also uses them for all our boot and shoe repair needs. We would never take our shoes anywhere else. They always greet with a happy face and have the best service around! Would highly recommend to anyone who asks.

On 1/25/2020, I have experienced the only rude customer service I have experienced as a 20 years military veteran in Abilene, TX. The young lady behind the counter is unbelievable rude. The shoe repair on my shoes was my of poor quality. My recommendation, especially for military veterans and military active duty members is to avoid this establishment.

We’ve had several pairs of boots made by this business. We use them for work and for dress. Very pleased with their workmanship and really enjoy doing business with a family oriented company.

For years I searched for shoes that I could wear that didnt make my feet hurt by the end of the day. On the recommendation of a friend I went to see Al. Oh My! He understood what was going on with my feet and why the shoes I had been buying were hurting my feet. He made me a pair of shoes that really fit and it was amazing. I just cant find words to explain what its like to go from hurting every day to able to last all day and well into the evening in the same pair of shoes. I even use a stand-up desk now and I never would have been able to do that before. That was 10 years ago and still wear that pair of shoes most business days. Al has made me 3 other pair of shoes and I will never wear anything else.

My buddy referred this boot company to me for getting my soles replaced, he’s had several pair made by them and was saying how good they were. I dropped my boots off and paid extra to have them ready in a few days for a wedding I had to make in Rockwall. When I went to pick them up I slid them on and noticed my left foot felt really weird. When I compared the boots I noticed one boot sole hung out a 1/4in wide. So I took them back in to fix it. Al claimed the boot came that way but I’ve worn this pair of boots for 8 years and I know exactly how they feel. The same boot that was wider, the toe on it was more round and not square like the right one, so I had him fix that too. I left very disappointed in this company. I wore the boots for about 10 min and I could tell they ruined my boots so I called Al back to talk to him. I told him I’d come back by and he could pull the soles off my boots and refund me my money and I’d go somewhere else. Al got offended when I told him they messed up on my boots and he started yelling at me on the phone, now I’m a business owner and I’d NEVER in a million years treat a customer the way he treated me. Maybe he was having a bad day but still you don’t get that bent out of shape when I was trying to be as polite as possible. When a customer has a problem with something I do, I go out of the way to make sure it’s fixed perfect. Not Al, all he wanted was my money so I had to file a credit card dispute with the bank and they canceled the transaction. I’m not having to pay over $200 to have my boots fixed by another company. When I showed my buddy the pair of boots, he was shocked of the lack of craftsmanship and said he’d never use them again after they treated me this way. 3 days after wearing the boots the soles started pulling apart where he cut threw the sole stitching trying to fix my left boot he messed up on. They also soaked my boots in so much oil that the counter on the heel of the boot is loose and the toe of my leather started ripping when the oil started to dry out. I’ll never use them again!

Good friendly Texas hospitality and service. They even let my daughter bring her put bull puppy in, then totally spoiled her with dog treats and affection. (The puppy, that is, my daughters not that fond of dog treats herself, but never too much attention!) But, enough about my daughter, how about those great folks at Leddys. Theyll even repair, clean and polish someone elses inferior boots and never complain about it. Made two pair look like new, and they came in pretty ragged. Check these folks out. They sure make um pretty out there.

Just took off my boots tonight after going to a very nice dinner at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton TX. People commented on how nice my boots were. I was wondering if Leddy in Abilene was still around. I will be wearing my other pair to a wedding in Fredericksburg Saturday night. I googled and found out they were. I dont know how many sets of soles and heels Ive put on them throughout my career but I have had them 41 years.
