Fabulous selection! Wonderful, helpful staff! Its a bit pricey, but they carry some awesome niche products that nobody else in Abilene does. Its always a pleasure to shop here!

On May 15th I went to my favorite place to buy high end beverages. Due to the quality of service and the military discount, we have not purchased anywhere else in two years. However, I went Saturday to get a bottle of patron and a bottle of Whistle Pig. I grabbed the Patron went over to pull a bottle of W Pig ($535-750Mil) from the shelf. As I grabbed the box the bottom fell out and it hit my foot and spilled about a half cup out on the floor. As you can imagine I was shocked. My thoughts were to pick it up and carry the box I(and the one I was going to purchase) to the counter and explain what had happened. Before I could do that the owner came out of his office and stated did that hit the floor and brake. I turned and tried to explain what had happened. It was though he heard nothing I said. I stated do you think I did that on purpose, he stated I dont know but I can call the police. As you can imagine I was taken aback. I tried again to explain and he stated your going to buy the bottle. I said do you really think I did that on purpose(as I had a new package in my hand), tried to tell him I was going to take that to the front and explain. He again threatened me with the police. I admit I lost my temper as Im a Veteran and didnt understand the aggressive way he was approaching the situation. He stated he was having a bad day and obviously I was having a bad day, to which I did not respond well (I was having a great day until this encounter). I was not having a bad day until I took a package off the shelf and a bottle of expensive whiskey hit my foot and spilled on the floor. At that time I said fine Ill buy the bottle and he refused (multiple times) to let me do so. This escalated the situation to a much higher level than needed to be. I tried to explain that I did not understand why he threatened me with the police when I clearly was trying to purchase a bottle of the $535 whiskey (he was aggressive and I returned in kind, not the way I want to be be but have to stand up for what is right). I think he judged me by my beard, the clothes I was wearing and my tattoos. He just get out of the store! I have tried calling twice to discuss rationally and work through the issue as they have a large selection of high end whiskey. Given that he will not call me back nor that he had the professionalism to find out what really happened I will not be purchasing anything from them in the future. Order online or visit the local Veteran owned businesses on Buffalo Gap! He never even tried to get the story or refer to a video Im sure he has on tape. It was a total power play by him and I did not back down. Be careful, what you pick up!!! I will continue to try and contact him to make this right! OWNER WAS WRONG on this one!! Hope folks read this and do not take the chance on him having a bad day!

This is a really big place with a nice variety of beers and fairly expansive liquor selection.

Your company van ran a red light in construction area and almost hit us. Please hire more responsible drivers from your company vehicle

Bourbon Valhalla in West Texas. And though I didn’t venture far from that corner of the store, scotch and wine were exhaustively well represented as well. Heard about the place from some friends, and as luck would have it I was scheduled to be in Abilene for a dove hunt two weeks from then. The owner John is a great guy with a VAST knowledge of all that he offers, but he could easily write a book on bourbon. I soaked up all I could in the half hour we chatted, and walked out with 5 great bottles you can’t just find anywhere. Phenomenal selection, excellent prices, & knowledgable and friendly staff from the owner on down. MAKE THE TRIP!!

Good top shelf selection, prices slightly above average for the area, however they have good sales which are very reasonable.

Everybody is so nice and helpful. They also cary more products than most liquor stores. If they dont have it and they can get it, they will order it for you.

This isn’t your run of the mill liquor store. Sure they have your regular liquor but you deserve better than that and John (owner) has got it. Unbelievable selection of quality high end liquor and beer. I was in town from Seattle and was told to check out H&H Beverages. So glad I did. John some how gets rare bourbons I haven’t been able to find anywhere (and I’ve been looking). I mean seriously even online you can’t find theses bourbons or scotches. John is super knowledgeable and helpful. I haven’t even mentioned his beer and wine selection. Do yourself a favor and at least check it out. Add to your collection or impress your friends with beer, bourbon and wine they’ve never tried before. I will be visiting H&H every time I come back to Abilene. A rare gem of a liquor store I wish I had in Seattle

None of the employees are wearing masks and covid cases are sky rocketing. Complete lack of respect for their customers. Will never shop there again

Im biased, throwing that out from the git. My biased spawns from my continues and consistent patronage, due to their fantastic customer service, selection and prices. They dont have what youre looking for? Theyll offer an alternative, order specifically what you want and call you when it comes in. Dont know what you want? Theyll provide suggestions while not trying to steal your money by offering theyre most expensive product. Come in there often enough, theyll recognize you and spark up a conversation like an old friend. Plus theyre local! What more could you ask for.

Awesome store- unbelievable selection. John was super helpful and took the time to go over options with us. Seriously, you should definitely go out of your way to stop by this place if you’re looking for something particular!

It was awesome,I didnt realize that it was tucked into the back corner kinda, and it looks kinda lik small place but WOW are you in for a treat, its large, and spacious with an excellent selection of everything, and the staff are very pleasant and willing to assist you even if your not there to make a purchase.

Vast selection of high-end whiskey’s that you could normally only find in a big city and the staff is very friendly. Thanks John for helping me out! My friends and I will be back.

What a great hour we spent at H&H today! John was so nice, and educated us about some wonderful new scotches we loved. The inventory selection was very impressive. Thanks again, John.

Favorite liquor store in town they have the Best beer selection

I live in Big Spring now, but when I lived in Abilene it was the only liquor store we went. The friendliest staff (funny to). Best place ever great selections of wine, and scotch and would get it if not...I still go there whenever I am in Abilene visiting or shopping.Still the Best....Above and Beyond....

Awesome selection of everything, gin, wine, whiskey, beer, rum, scotch, you name it. Military discount (10%) to myself and all who proudly serve on EVERYTHING alcohol EXCEPT BEER. Staff are no deal and helpful in telling you their reviews and what they have heard from customers, that being said, if you try something new, make sure to go back and tell them how you like it. Also call the store for specifics, but there is a tasting every Friday I THINK, around 1500-1700 ish.

Good shop for booze. Have some aperitifs hard to find in this area. Have been good at getting items they do not have.

Got really blasted on a good size bottle of Sailor Jerrys from here. Trust your instincts, but also go home before you get blasted on Sailor Jerrys.

The service from the clerks was horrible. While it may have been my fault for having a gift card to long the clerk was less than useful. He did try to swipe the gift card to see if it would read and after a few attempts he pointed to the website on the back. I asked him once I looked it up and there was a balance on it then what? His response was well cross that bridge when it comes. Sure enough I had a balance on the gift card (like I said it would) and he informed me that I would have to come back another day when the owner was there. I jokingly asked if they could call and see if the owner would do anything for me and the clerks response was not only No but my boss would tell you to keep better care of your card. I mentioned that I doubt any business owner would mention that to any customer, duh poor service, and his smart response was yet again you dont know my boss! On our way out of the store my boyfriend mentioned he heard that same clerk mouthing something on the way out, something along the lines of what did she want me to do with a gift card that wouldnt work... Either way this service is not acceptable and wished that clerk would have just told me in the first place the gift card was useless and not waste my time verifying the gift card online. I have never met or dealt with the owner of H&H beverage but I hope he isnt as awful as the clerk says he is.

I have shopped many liquor stores across the country so when I went into H&H and met John the owner we learned that this was no ordinary shop. We asked a few questions and John was so enthoustiac that we hit it off right away. Super helpful and friendly and what a selection! We ended up staying for over an hour and leaving with an grin and some mighty fine bourbon. Thank you John for taking time to chat, educate and make someone from out of town feel like a local. Walked in with a few friends, we were having a good time and talking a little loud and checking out the liquor selection. The clerk was rude, watching our every move until we grabbed a bottle of what we initially came for and decided to pay. He IDed all three of us. Barely looked at the other two peoples IDs, took a hard look at me, then refused service to us, claiming it was store policy and TABC was coming in this week, so he wasnt allowed to sell to customers that were running their mouths. Which, was something we were doing to each other as a group of close friends, having a good time and not towards the clerk. My friends also noticed his demeanor towards me wasnt very friendly. Long story short, dont drop the F bomb or go in having a good time with friends, because its apparently against store policy.
