Its in a nice location; bright and airy. It could use more seating, especially when inside isnt included for Covid reasons. The ice cream was good, though not better than many other locations around. The prices were competitive, but the serving size seemed a bit smaller than other local joints. I got chocolate peanut butter. Loads of chocolate. Not much peanut butter.

Really enjoyed this local creamery. My husband and I both got the monthly sundae special. Servings were generous. Only go on a cheat day! Plenty of parking. Servers were friendly. Inside was a bit small so could easily get crowded but there were tables outside to eat. If anyone dare eating the crazy colonial Id be interested to know 😋...

We definitely have the benefit (or curse?) of proximity here, as this delightful place is a solid 3 minute walk from our house. But that aside, WSC has become one of my favorite ice cream places, and that is no small feat.Let’s get the obvious stuff out of the way first: this is an adorable little ice cream shop in the middle of a very hip little town center in Acton, with a wonderful outdoor seating area, entertaining sandwich boards describing their flavors, and a dog-friendly Sundae option that has become an almost troublesome addiction for our furriest family member.More specifically, I am a dyed-in-the-wool chocolate ice cream enthusiast, and not every place does that well. In fact some very popular places have truly miserable chocolate options. JP Licks in Boston, close to our old place, is wonderful and has some great flavors, but they really can’t do a chocolate-based flavor that comes anywhere close to my standards. On the other hand, we used to live barely 2 miles from a place that was rated as having one of the top three homemade ice creams in the world (Ron’s in Hyde Park, Boston), which was excellent and had a couple of very good ones. We also have, in our area, regular access to Richardson’s ice cream, my own current top contender for best ice cream ever with their flavor Death By Chocolate. There are plenty of places that do it well… this IS New England, and we love our ice cream up here.As noted, proximity counts for a lot. But quite apart from that, West Side Creamery’s Chocolate Caramel Brownie and Chocolate Peanut Butter flavors have managed to enter my top 3 to 5 all-time chocolate flavors, alongside the aforementioned Death by Chocolate and Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Therapy.None of this should be read as taking away from any of their other delicious, seasonal, and creative flavors. Pretty much everything they do they do well, from everything I have tried.All in all, if you are in West Acton center you would be well advised to stop here and grab a cone; in fact, even if you are just west of Boston it might be worth the trip out of your way.

By far my favourite Ice Cream outside of the big city! Delicious flavours, wonderful sundae concoctions, and simplistic yet scrumptious cookiewiches (something I am an expert in). I would recommend ordering ahead to avoid a wait though it is never too long (ice cream isnt made to order afterall).

We consider ourselves discriminating ice cream eaters. West Side Creamery offers a top notch product. The ice cream is super creamy, not overly sweet and very pure. We took home pints of lemon blueberry crisp, brookie dough and cookie jar today. So good. We were fortunate to find you and we will be back EVERY DAY!! Love the story of shop as well. Delicious ice cream delivered in a friendly environment. If you plan to seat outside in the patio while indulging your ice cream in a late afternoon-early evening, bring some mosquito repellent. Dont let the anopheles ruin your ice cream experience.

Best ice cream around! Very creamy and excellent flavors

2 of our 6 had food allergies and staff were very attentive to our needs. We understand how difficult it can be to find tasty frozen desserts. That being said, I heard “this is delicious chocolate” quite a few times about the vegan chocolate. Everyone enjoyed their flavors and as someone who doesn’t love ice cream, I loved this ice cream!

Owner was very helpful with answering our allergen questions, and the apple cobbler sundae was fantastic.

Great homemade ice cream with some rich flavors and ample portions providing a good value for the money. While the place is small they provide both indoor and outdoor seating. A great option for ice cream with the family.

Lots of flavor options and a rich creamy taste.Straws for the frap could be a little bigger. The small size made it difficult to drink.

The chocolate is so good. How good is it? Its the best chocolate ice cream Ive ever had. Thats how good it is. When youre looking through the menu for the first time, and youre thinking ooh almond joy! I wonder if green monster is good? Skip em. The chocolate is a near religious experience, you can always try the others another time.

I had vanilla ice cream with hot fudge. It was great! The ice cream was creamy and the fudge was hot. The small size was plenty. The mini size would have been enough for after a meal. They offered a good variety. A simple pleasant place with with friendly staff.

Very good ice cream, however they have not stocked chocolate dipped waffle cones in nearly a year! Each time I go I ask about them and am regularly promised they will be back soon!

Boyfriend and I got a frappe and a sundae here today and both were great! We really appreciated that the sundae came in a compostable container rather than styrofoam. Staff were friendly and it felt very safe despite the pandemic.

Lovely gourmet ice cream shop located in the center of West Acton. When I first entered I was greeted by the delicious aroma of home made waffle cones and friendly young scoop staff. Ideally situated to a nearby playground, coffee shops and brewery/restaurant. Cozy outdoor patio and ample parking. My new local favorite.

We live within walking distance of Westside. I absolutely adore the banana chocolate chunk and a good old-fashioned frappe is never far from my mind. They also have ice cream cakes available to custom order very reasonably priced.

We had a wonderful experience here! They were so sympathetic to my husbands dairy allergy and made a special effort to get a new container of sorbet, utensils, gloves, etc. A nice surprise! And the ice cream scoopers were very friendly too.

Great ice-cream only five minutes from route 2! We got to talk to the owner who was excited about everything Acton has to offer, on our way from Boston to Vermont. Great variety of flavors and attentive staff, not to mention they make their own waffle cones! :)

THIS ICE CREAM PLACE IS THE BOMB! I have always been a HUGE fan of ice cream and I have always felt we needed an ice cream place in Acton. Fortunately for me West Side Creamery moved in, their ice cream is incredible, instead of buying Ben and Jerrys I go the extra mile just to eat some of West Sides Ice Cream.

My daughter had celiac disease and this was the first ice cream establishment where she could actually enjoy a gluten free cone. The ice cream was delicious and the staff knew to get fresh ice cream from the freezer that was uncontaminated. Great allergy practices here. Would highly recommend.

This place hasnt been here long yet, but it has already become a fixture it what makes West Acton great. The ice cream is delicious and the staff are on top of things. During my last visit there it was incredibly busy, but the line kept moving and they had everything under control. I will be back for sure.

The ice cream was delicious and the vegan vanilla ice cream was great for my dairy free gluten free partner. It was also so nice they had a list of allergens posted so my dairy free gluten free partner was able to make informed decision (the peanut sauce was gluten free and dairy free!).

We had the caramel apple crisp sunday and it was delicious, but we found a piece of cardboard in our icecream ☹
