I had no furniture in my house and i responded to a post on Facebook about furniture and the owner gave me a loveseat and chair great place and great people thank you so much
I would recommend Pier & Co to anyone. After being left with the task to clean out my parents house of 30+ years and calling several estate sale companies, Pier & Co was by far the most professional. We appreciate them.
First time in this establishment today overheard an employee say that nobody ever writes a good Google review! Lucky for them, thats my favorite thing to do! Cute store, with lots of variety to offer at reasonable prices. I will definitely be back!
I went to Pier & Co to purchase my wedding ring and worked with Michael. He was ridiculously helpful. I had zero idea what I wanted - I am just a plain and simple person. I thought getting a diamond infinity band would be the best option for me since its classic and beautiful. Instead of letting me spend extra money, Michael explained to me that since I have such small fingers, if I did get an infinity band the diamonds on the sides would actually rub against the adjacent fingers and cause irritation and instead I should only do the top half with diamonds. He never tried to push me to spend more money, but instead gave great advice that was the best decision. Honesty is what keeps a customer coming back time and again. I get so many compliments on my ring. It sparkles like crazy even without ever having it professionally cleaned. 100% recommend Pier & Co.
I was looking for a diamond tennis bracelet for a while but was still hesitant and still had some questions. Michael was happy to answer my questions and gave me a good deal on the bracelet as well! Definitely would recommend checking out Pier and Co!
My sister hired Pier several years ago for our Aunts estate. They came out, looked at the condo and instead of holding an estate sale there said they would do a cleanout for $1500. They would take her property and stage it in other homes where estate sales were being held and the price paid for goods would be split between them and us. They were asked if they take a complete inventory of goods prior to them leaving the house. We were assured they would but went a step above and completed our own inventory, with pictures. I will note that the only property remaining in the home were the large ticket items as all drawers and closets - with exception to the kitchen, had been cleaned out. Our inventory consisted of 264 items. Everything from dining room table/chairs, sofas, end tables, paintings, table lamps, 3 bedroom suites, dressers, night stands, rocking chairs, a large volume of kitchen appliances, china cabinets, tools, garden equipment and a brand new stair lift chair assembly which alone was worth over $3400. We had been told that items they felt would not sell they would donate. We were okay with that as long as a complete inventory was provided of all donated goods. We received a list along the way with less than 10 items written on it. None of which we objected to. As the contract was drawing to a close, and after only receiving a list of sold items - which they claimed they sold less than 15 items, my sister contacted Julie several times to notify her that she wanted to pick up some of the remaining property that did not sell. This was part of the contract, that if we wanted items that did not sell we were to contact Pier and make our intentions known. After repeated attempts to reach Ms. Pier my sister went into their store front on Market Street to try to reach her there. Per her staff, they promised to let her know she was to make contact. After another week, Ms. Pier finally called. She was informed there were items we wished to retain. She was advised that she had accounted for less than 30 items as being donated or sold and our inventory of items (and pictures of those items) was at 264 items. She requested pictures of the items we were requesting be returned and said shed look into it. After several days she called to advise there was nothing left. She couldnt account for the sofa, rocker, stair lift chair and assembly, china cabinet and other large ticket items. When asked to explain where our property went she said at times a gentleman would come in to the sales just before they were closing and theyd sell him items at very low prices. She was then questioned as to where that money was if that was the case because she didnt have our items and did not give us the proceeds from their sale. She had no answer. All said and done, we paid Pier more to clean out the condo than money made on sold items. Steer clear of Pier and if you are dealing with them, take pictures of all property as well as a detailed inventory and detailed notes of all contacts with them. Had our family not suffered several losses immediately after dealing with Pier we would have sued immediately but seeing as we are still in the statue of limitations - we are just considering pursuing this matter now.
Great place! Got some really unique neckalaces and pendants at a fraction of what some other places were charging. Always getting new inventory also! Highly recommend!
My cousin had recommended their services because of selling their home and moving out of state. Michael was professional and courteous. I believed his evaluations fair and guided us through the process as to what to expect and help us manage our expectations. He was quick to respond to questions and that is a rarity in this day. When having to go thru your loved ones things and assign a value can be quite emotional, he was very compassionate. I would highly recommend his services!
We had a fabulous estate sale, and were very satisfied with Piers services. Michael met with our family at first and gave us a few different options, but an estate sale was right. There were many pier people from the setup ladies to the sales team. The weekend turned out a full street of cars and customers, and we could not have done it without them. We sold almost everything in the house. Thank you!
I was put in charge of my aunts estate and cleaning out her well-loved, craft and hobby stuffed house was the most daunting chore. I wouldnt say that she was a hoarder, but there was a surprisingly high amount of stuff, stuff everywhere. Her house was a little out of Pier & Companys coverage, but Michael drove down to meet with me anyway. He was easy to talk to and put me at ease right away. I knew it was a big job, but he explained the different options and gave a reasonable quote. I visited the estate sale unannounced as a buyer and was surprised by the work that had gone into making the items in the house presentable for sale. There was kind qualified staff on every floor answering questions and helping people with their purchases. I even overheard another buyer mention that Michael had done his fathers estate sale and now he was now a loyal customer of Pier & Cos sales. We decided to pay to have the house emptied and cleaned out which was a bigger job than the sale. When they said they would clean it out they meant it. Every shelf was wiped off and floor swept. Pier & Co took an emotional and hard job off of my shoulders and did it with professionalism and kindness. The time and backache that they saved us were worth more than any money that could have been made if we tried to do it ourselves. They were easy to communicate with and paid attention to special requests to items that were not to be sold. I appreciated Michael and all that Pier & co. did for me and my family.
Thank you Pier for a perfect estate sale and your very professional staff. Setup people were really kind and worked around our family even though we werent supposed to still be living there. Nearly everything they put out for was sold! There was a police officer outside during the sale too which our neighbors liked. Our family was very happy that we chose you to do our sale.
I love working with Michael at Pier & Co. absolutely professional, knowledgeable and easy to work with. Highly recommend them
Full disclosure - I grew up around the corner from Michael Press. But while weve known each other for decades, that only matters because its the reason I went to Mike for an engagement ring in the first place. However, it does not, for a moment, affect this review.Sometime a while back, I knew I was going to propose to my lovely fiance (spoilers! she said yes), and started shopping for a ring. Researched the important factors and started looking around, and while i found a lot of nice rings, nothing that really called to me. It was a frustrating process, culminating in buying what I thought would be the perfect ring online, only to return it. That was probably the lowest moment, and so I took a break in my ring shopping. Fast forward some months later, and I saw someone else from my hometown post photos on social media of a beautiful designer engagement ring from Mike Press and so I reached out to Mike.I had no idea what I wanted, even after all that shopping, and couldnt have been more nervous. I didnt want to design a custom ring, because I have the imagination of a piece of wood, so I relied on Mike to ask the right questions and pick out a number of options. He was patient, detailed in his explanations of various rings and options, and came up with a number of beautiful suggestions. Nevertheless, I still could not make a decision. I was scared of completely screwing this up. I asked a million questions, then disappeared for weeks while I thought about it, only to come back and ask more questions. Mike never brushed me off or decided I wasnt going to be a sale - he just kept helping me along. In the end, not only did Mike find a beautiful diamond but he held it for me in spite of having other interested parties. Sent me photos, videos, descriptions, etc until I was finally able to pull the trigger. With the perfect diamond, he then suggested what ended up being the perfect setting to go with it. I was so trilled with what he put together that I wasnt even worried about whether or not Melissa would like it. Again, it was perfect.I wish I could find more good things to say. This was an incredibly stressful and nerve wracking process but Mike made it easy in the end. I was glad to give the business to someone Ive known my whole life, but even still, was not expecting the kindness, patience, and helpfulness to the degree Mike provided. He bent over backwards to make this easy.
We were looking for some wall art to compliment our contemporary-style home. There was a large selection to choose from and we found a few pieces, which were all in tasteful frames. I am happy with our experience, not to mention the excellent prices.
This service was exactly what we needed. My Mother-in-Law needed to move out of her home, sell the house, and we had only a few weeks to do it all. We called Pier and they helped us out of this jam. First we thought an estate sale was the right idea, but ended up with another plan that was perfect for us. Not only did they do a fantastic job cleaning and clearing out a home lived in for over 40 years, they also offered to sell many of her items at their store so she would make some money back in the process too. They even brought in their appraiser who found valuable pieces we didnt even know she had. We would highly recommend these professionals. It was great to have found this service that we didnt even know existed. Thank you for all you did to help us.
Great deals on jewelry!
We had a good experience doing an estate sale with Pier and company. Everything went as planned and the people were so nice to have around while they were getting ready for the weekend. They also removed the leftovers and cleaned our home after the sale, which helped our family quickly list the home for sale. Thank you
Unethical! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Pier & Co will promise you the moon, but under-deliver. They lost a large item of my families so we did not receive a check for it. When we collected all our items from the store it was no where to be found, along with many other smaller items we never received checks for. Also, when we collected all our items, no one was checking if we were truly only taking our items or not. The business is run very unprofessionally. You have to trust that no one else will take your items home with them when they go to collect their items. If I could give zero stars I would!!They also recently had to downsize and get ride of half their store front. Instead of notifying individuals with items on consignment Pier & Co goodwilled many items, to save themselves the hassle of making the many phone calls. Even if it meant breaking contracts that stated do not goodwill items before notifying the family.
Pier & Co. are our favorite estate liquidators! Their sales are always well organized, staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Whenever possible they are the first sale we head to on the weekends.
Pier & Co is the perfect example of over promise and under deliver. We had them do our estate sale as we are moving abroad. They promised for a flat 35%, to get rid of everything either via house sale, in-store or donate to charity. They said they’d even clean out the house for $500 after the sale to get it ready for the new owners. After the sale, anything unsold was just left. The $500 clean out fee turned into $2000 and that included a dumpster to just toss everything. They also said they provide an itemized list of everything they sold. Instead, they listed about 10 things, leaving off a lot of major items. They took weeks to tell us how much the sale had made, and then just sent a check. They charged $400 for advertising, although it’s very unclear where that happened. And we had a very high value item go missing. I’d really look at Pier and Co as a last resort.Very disappointing.
If there were 10 stars possible, not 5, Michael Press and his company would receive all 10. Superior service. Incredible selection. Priced to sell, sell, sell. Thank you Mike. We love Pier & Co. Liquidators and appreciate the royalty treatment we receive. It is a pleasure doing business with you!
Called 3 weeks ago and spoke with Mike about having items at my moms house appraised. Price was good and after discussing with my mom called and left a message with Mike. Waited a week and called again on Dec 13, did get ahold of Mike and he said he would have his appraiser reach out, as of Dec 23 no call back. I called Pier and Company after seeing signs all over West Akron, business must be so good they dont need any additional customers.
What a great store. I bought a diamond pendant for my wife! Got a great deal on it and she loved it!
I recently purchased a set of amazing diamond stud earrings for my wife from Michael and she loves them. Better quality and price than any jewelry store looked in. I will absolutely be going back to Michael for all my jewelry needs. I highly recommend Pier & Co.
Mike has helped me find the perfect jewelry for my wife more than once. I became a customer for life the first time when I did the research myself and came in convinced that I knew exactly what she would want. A chain store would have just given me what i asked for. But even though he could have made a quick sale, Mike took the time to ask questions about her and her style and convinced me to choose a different set. Turned out my wife was amazed that I picked the perfect gift and he saved us both the embarrassment (and hassle) that comes from getting it wrong on an expensive give and having to exchange it.
I purchased a beautiful pair of custom made earrings for my anniversary. They worked through every detail with me and my wife was thrilled with the final product. The service was great and I highly recommend!
Pier&Co is the go-to for estate sales in the Akron area! Their staff is so nice, personable and helpful. Not to mention they have great deals at their estate sales and in their showroom. Their 40+ years in business definitely shows. Keep up the good work!
I had the most wonderful experience using Pier and Co. Julie and her staff are remarkable. Professional and efficient in every manner. From start to finish the tag sale Julie held was seamless. I highly recommend Pier and Co. In my humble opinion, Julie and her staff are the only game in town relative to tag sales. Patti B
My husband and I always went to the Pier sales and loved them. Yes, we would, like everyone, ask for a price reduction sometimes, and they always seemed to be fair. However, we purchased a brand new humidifier, in the box, and it did not work. We told Julie, the owner, about it, right away and she said she could give us a credit for the 75.00. We are seniors and with illness and surgeries we did not take it back right away. Now they are offering us only half, stating that things are sold as is. I did not know that if something was new in the box, you could not expect it to be in running order. I asked if they could give me $40.00 to have it fixed, Julie said yes, but then was going on and on and on with the longest lecture I have ever heard. I told her nicely to keep her $40.00 and lose a good customer. I guess she needs that $40.00 more than me. I never expexcted this from her. Very disappointing. I know I will NEVER go to another Pier sale.
Pier and company conducted an estate sale for my parents which was handled professionally and very well done. Since that time I have become a customer and find them to be friendly, Courteous and professional. I would highly recommend Pier and co. Use them if you want the best!!!
They were a pleasure to work with!
AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOIDPier and Co. did estate sale for my brother and I in October 2015 for our parents house. I interviewed several companies and they appeared to be the most professional of the companies I met with. The sales itself seemed to run well enough even though we were disappointed with the total proceeds we received. My issue with Pier and Co. is the handling of consignment items. These are items that were unsold during the our estate sale but were removed (with my approval) for use in subsequent Pier and Co estate sales.DO NOT CONSIGN YOUR ITEMS FOR SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was told the items were donated in December after our October. Pier and Co. was not authorized to donate these items (Im very skeptical these were donated to anyone but Pier and Co). I was told a tax receipt was mailed to me (it was not) I am certain these items were sold by Pier and Co. at later estate sales and all proceeds were kept by Pier and Co. Additionally, the handling of other peoples consigned items at our sale was sloppy. I dont know how credit could possibly be accurately assigned. IE....who is owed what.Multiple consigned items were simply left at our house for cleanup.DO NOT DO YOUR ESTATE SALE WITH PIER AND CO! YOU WILL REGRET IT.
Very unethical. Not interested in making greatest profit for client. I placed a higher bid on a piece of furniture and the worker gave it to the lower bidder. Before the first offer was accepted I said “I will pay more than that.” The woman who made the offer said she would not pay more nor get into a bidding war with me. After the employee said she was giving it to the lower bidder I told her that was a terrible thing to do and she was unapologetic. Perhaps the lower bidder was a friend of hers? Anyway, if you are selling don’t go with Pier & Co. They sell to the lowest bidder.
Unethical - Arrived early to get first number - When opened walked directly to item put my hand on it and said I will take it. The rep said I will mark it sold and I said great. Oh no someone that came in after me (higher number) and purchased it. How can this happen. I was there first and the Pier Co. rep marked the ticket on the item as SOLD (to me). Just ask Juli she runs the questionable show. To be fair to Juli I think her pants were too tight and cut off circulation to her brain. Never again wasting my time at Pier & Co. and neither should you. After reading the reviews I see that customers buying or selling are not happy with this business. If you are looking for someone to handle your estate sale look elsewhere. The only person benefiting from their sales is them. Good Luck dealing with Juli and this company. Sale opened at 10 am - problems started at 10:03.
I was extremely pleased with the service and would highly recommend this company.
Wonderful source of home decor, jewelry, clothing, purses, shoes and so much more. Good prices and friendly, helpful staff workers. it’s always a journey for treasures.
Julie and her staff are amazing! I have been too many tag sales and by far they do the very best job in accommodating customers. I try to never miss a sale Im never disappointed
First rate service at both tag sales and consignment showroom. Professional, knowledgeable and cheerful staff. Thanks Pier&Co!
Pier & Co is one of the best antiques shops Ive ever visited. Being in college, I was able to find nice, matching furniture at an affordable cost. They have everything you can imagine. Theres always cool new finds at each sale and the staff and owner Julie have always been a great help to me. Would reccomend to anyone looking for antiques, furniture and jewelry.
When it comes to Estate/Tag sales Pier&Co. is the golden standard! The sales always look amazing, and the staff are consistently professional and super helpful! If youre needing to liquidate or are just on the hunt for some goods then Id recommend going to any of the Pier&Co sales!
Such a great, professional company. We have visited their estate sales in homes and also visited the store, and always find something different that we cant pass up.
I made the mistake of using Pier & Co. to help liquidate my mothers remaining household items when she moved in 2016. Communication was non -existent unless I made several phone calls chasing anyone down for answers. I received no itemization list of what was taken to be sold. My mother had valuable art pieces and rugs that either got pennies on the dollar or were never seen again, or accounted for. Useful and beautiful craft items were taken and when asked where they were taken PRIOR to the scheduled sale, they were mysteriously donated and unable to be recovered. I felt the company was completely untrustworthy. I would never consider using them again and vehemently discourage anyone who does.
Juli and her staff are fabulous ! I have attended tag sales for many years and Juli always will try to give you the best deal that she can as she works for the seller . She also has graciously sold items for me as well . Her sales are top notch and always a great place to shop. We are fortunate to have her expertise in our community .
We love the new ownership and wish Michael the best in his new endeavor!Jim Myers, Summit Moving
Outstanding estate sales
Very nice company.Nice employees and fair prices.
Rude and unprofessional. We were looking and were told not to touch things and then asked if we needed help by a nicer lady then someone else shut off the lights on us. Not a way to act or promote yourself as a business.
Micheal is wonderful. They have wonderful merchandise here.
Fabulous company to work with. Very happy with them . Would use them again!
The leadership was awful. I made a big mistake signing a contract with Pier & Co. For a more complete and detailed review go to the BBB website.
Did a nice job of clean and moving things out in estates sale, hard to make much on used funiture.
Today I went to one of your sales in Cuyahoga Falls. This was the first and last time that I will attend one of your sales. First, everything was VERY overpriced and your staff was rude.Thank you.
Wont take dumpster away been like 6 weeks
Owner Julie is extremely rude and hangs up on people mid sentence in phone calls when she decides she wont profit from whatever youre talking to her about.
Unethical and rude.
Always overpriced.
