Back in the day this small shop was called Grandmas Cupboard. I remember vividly taking Wilton cake decorating classes in high school with the instructor, Vada. Those classes began my insight and passion for baking. They have a wall of cookie cutters with everything imaginable! As well as a variety of icing colors and flavors! Sprinkles, pans, and baking kits galore. I will always support this local, small business for all my necessities!

Though not a frequent shopper I have been buying my cake decorating supplies here for several decades. Through at least two previous owners.Yes, they always have an amazing selection. That said,,, the current owner is, unfortunately, quite rude. I totally understand requiring a mask. Thats not an issue. However telling a patron that there is a 15 min time limit is a bit over the top. Apparently browsing is not permitted. I guess if I want a leisurely shopping experience I should stick to Amazon!

Die to the pandemic and other circumstances, their hours are a bit unorthodox. However, if you just call and ask before making the trip, it will save you some frustrations! Stopped here today with my wife, she was piling her basket to the brim. As she was shopping, the owner told me he has 3x requirements for the store:1. Masks are required!2. Social distancing is required!3. 15min time limit to be within the CDC and State laws for the current pandemic.The owners were awesome, friendly, and more exciting to me was their amazing prices! My wife has been here a few times, and today I tagged along to see the place she has been talking Bout so much! I was very impressed as well!

The hours are so restrictive and unreliable. To have no evening hours on a weekday excludes many customers. I live about 30 minutes away and I went there on a Saturday only to find out they close at 1:00 pm. I went again this past Saturday and the owner was just leaving (early) for personal reasons. I need 10 pounds of chocolate and other chocolate making supplies for an upcoming event. Although I like to buy from local small businesses I will have to buy my chocolate from the chocolate store near a family members home next week. I cant rely on this store being opened.

Been visiting for over 20 years but the guy working there the last few years is rude. I have never been so taken back when the man working tells me I only have 15 minutes to shop due to the pandemic. I could see restricting someones time if you are at capacity but I was THE ONLY PERSON IN THE STORE. I still had a few things I wanted to purchase but his approach offended me so much that I immediately completed my purchase and left. I went to Mr. Bulky at Chapel Hill Mall and finished getting the supplies I needed without being approached by a rude employee. I used to love going to Linneas and then Grandmas Cupboard, but now this guy is running The Cake and Candy depot and it probably wont last much longer. They have a great selection if you can get past his rude and nasty attitude.

I love this store. The owner and staff are very helpful and friendly. Prices are cheaper than anywhere else. They have so many items that you cant find other places.

Owner Frank is gruff to both customers and staff. Customers are more helpful than the staff. Frank wants you out of his store in 15 minutes and cites non-existent COVID business rules. The store was a pleasant place prior to the change in ownership. Now instead of Grandma’s Cupboard it should be called Cranky Cave instead of Cake and Candy Depot. I try to support local businesses but now that I can’t browse leisurely I might as well shop on Amazon.

This is such a great place to shop if you need baking or candy making supplies! I come back every Christmas to get holiday sprinkles (which are sold by the pound, every sprinkle lovers dream) Merckens chocolate, food color gel, cookie cutters, and a brick of caramel to make turtle cookies. They have walls and walls of all shapes and sizes of both cookie cutters and candy molds, as well as odd/unique pans and baking tools. Plus, they sell bulk candy eyes. Once you start, youll be putting eyes on everything you make XD

This was my first time there didn’t have time to look at everything like I would have liked but I have to think of others with a small space only so many can be in the place at a time so I had to get what I needed or was looking for an get out plus it was few days before Christmas Eve so be respectful of others an let me say the people whom work there was so nice so helpful o an was I so happy to see they sell a product I’m so happy about a secret to my cakes I do now I no I can get in my home town an not spend a fortune to be shipped here this place is outstanding I fell in love the minute I walked in there!!

Awesome place. Huge selection on all baking related things. I buy all of my baking stuff from here. Staff is attentive and they pride themselves on always being in stock of everything they offer. Great prices as well.

The customer service at Cake and Candy Depot is what makes the experience so positive, not to mention the great selection of candy and cake making supplies. The new owners are open eleven hours longer throughout the week which is perfect for when youve forgotten that one crucial item. The store is clean, the prices competitive, and the stock current. Ill definitely continue shopping there.

I live in Cincinnati and when I come up to Akron, I have to shop here. Their prices are great and better than anywhere in Cincinnati! They have so much more than the previous owners and always a freindly staff. I highly recommend them for all your cake and candy needs.

When I first started baking cakes I was so happy to discover this shop. That quickly changed as the owner and his wife are ALWAYS following me around the store as if I’m going to steal something, the husband seems to ALWAYS have some type of issue with children. It’s so the point where I don’t understand why they don’t just put a sign up that says “No children allowed”. He complains that they touch things, one time he told my son he was not allowed to bring a bottle of sweet tea in the store because it’s a law you cannot bring drinks with sugar in them to a business establishment LOL! Then just recently when we went my son had to use the restroom and he tells me he needs an escort to the bathroom because he had a kid flush a toy truck down the toilet that cost him $300 the week before. The only reason I go there is is Diane’s Cake Supply in Barberton is closed. I cannot wait for her to come back from vacation!

Great little shop to get your baking needs and the prices are awesome. My only complaints are the parking lot is tiny & the owner was not very friendly with me or my children. Almost acted annoyed I had brought kids with me even though they were well behaved.

All though it appears uninviting from outside. Stop go in owner is nice always shows interest in the craft. MY DAUGHTER loves this place. (WATCH out for the telephone pole in parking lot IT BITES CARS)

They have everything I need for my chocolate making from molds to boxes! Their prices are the cheapest that I have ever found! The employee was very helpful in showing us where things were and giving helpful suggestions. This is by far one of my favorite stores!

Nice little store, but no public bathroom which is a major part peeves. I drove almost an hour to get there.
