First time visiting this range and also my first solo range trip as a handgun owner. The staff were extremely polite and willing to help me with whatever I needed. Had a round malfunction and the range safety officer was super cool about helping me clear it and also educated me on what caused it...The staff here all seemed super knowledgeable and made me feel 100% welcome especially given that Im a first time handgun owner. I will definitely be coming back! 🤙🏻

Helpful staff and well stocked. The basic handgun safety course was a gift to my daughter and boyfriend. Its been two weeks and they are still raving about how good the class was. Good job!

The instructor spent the first hour talking about his growing up with guns. He then spent a great deal of time illustrating the difference between ammo casings. After that, he talked about semi-auto pistols. He ran through the Power Point presentations skipping many slides. Never once did he talk about revolvers. Didnt talk about how to hold them or to clean them. His only comment was that I should go get a 9MM. Sorry, but I am 70 years old and do not care for recoil or loud bangs. If not for self-teaching on the range, this was a total waste of time. I cannot recommend this class or at least this instructor.

My wife, granddaughter, and I attended the 4-hour Basic Handgun class. Todd, our instructor, presented a very informative and yet entertaining overview of the techniques and responsibilities of handgun use. Todd was very responsive and helpful to all six of the class participants. On the range, he assisted me several times when the cartridges failed to load properly from the magazine. I would highly recommend this class and Todd to anyone who wishes to learn about proper handgun use.

The class that I took at Shoot Point Blank was great. Really good information while also keeping the students engaged. The instructors were very well informed and had great advice. I would totally recommend any of their classes. Thank-you.

It was my first time at this location and I spent a half-hour on the range and purchased my first shotgun. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, from the man working the counter to the range officer and the woman who sold me my shotgun. Will definitely be back.

Advanced Handgun class with Candy P. was great. Had the opportunity to learn new skills (drawing from a holster) and got some really great instruction and tips to improve my accuracy, including modifying my grip slightly and adjusting my finger position on the trigger. The one-on-one time with the instructor was amazing. I would highly recommend the Advanced Handgun class for anyone who wants to improve their accuracy and confidence. Many Thanks to Candy P. and Shoot Point Blank Akron for a great class and range experience.

Overall, I cant say enough good things about the staff. Both times that Ive been into the retail store, the staff was friendly, honest, and informative. They didnt direct me into buying something just to make a sale, but rather openly talked with me about the pros and cons of certain guns. In terms of the range, it is certainly a nice facility and very clean. There were a couple things I wasnt a huge fan of though. First, there was an attendant there watching me every second, which might not have felt so weird if there were more shooters in the range. But with me being the only one there, it was like I constantly had someone watching over my shoulder, which was somewhat annoying and not something Ive experienced at other ranges (cameras, yes, but not the attendant thing). Also, I got a warning for rapid fire when I released 5 shots in a row with my handgun. I personally didnt think anything of it, but I guess thats not allowed, which again, Ive never experienced at other ranges. Maybe this is common, but it wasnt like I mag dumped an AR or something. Overall, a good place to go, just a few quirks I didnt like so much..

I thoroughly enjoyed my CCW class. Learned a lot and I thought the instructor did a great job explaining any questions that were asked.

Ive visited PBR Akron twice, and Ill never return. I traveled cross-county, intending to hold/examine a handgun that was supposedly in-stock. In neither case was the handgun visible in the display cases. BOTH times there was exactly 1 person at the very very large 9mm cases - always fully, 100% occupied chatting up some noob buyers, and far too busy to talk to me, while there were 2 persons across the aisle on the not-9mm (38/45cal) side resting on their elbows. This place is a total joke.I intended to buy a ~$900 pistol today, at their full-list pricing from this joke-joint, but they are far too busy to even talk to real customers. Instead Ill buy online and save $90 (minus ~2day shipping). Ive got no use for a place that burns off ~2 hours of my time and cant even talk to me.The first time I gave them a pass as a newly opened biz, but here is NO EXCUSE for treating customers this way after months open. Other local places know how to service customers, including managing time-line expectations.

I’ve been a devoted member for a while now but the training I’ve recently received has encouraged me to take other classes now to better myself in the knowledge of firearm and firearm safety

It was very informative. Very professional. I feel like I will continue to learn and get better under their instruction.

It’s a nice place to shoot but when checking in on my second visit I found it a little concerning when the associate said, “It’s so wild being able to see everyone’s phone number and e-Mail information”. I paid cash for a non-gun purchase on the way out and had to present ID. I’m wondering exactly how my information is being handled.

He was knowledgeable and very helpful. Very patient and the class was fun. If I had to do it again definitely would want him as the instructor.

Typically a nice local range to go to. Allows handgun as well as rifle calibers. Though I have had two incidents over the past year with new, careless shooters and a more than arrogant experienced shooter with a new long gun. The first involved being flagged multiple times with a loaded firearm. The second involved my magazines being knocked off the table due to the long gun being placed next to my case and ammunition. Range safety officer had been less than helpful in both incidents.

What can I say, well, I went in today, looking for a specific firearm. I was greeted, assisted, and taken care of by Daniel, in under 30 mins. The fact that I drove 20 minutes to purchase a firearm and theres a firearms dealer less than five minutes away from my apt. with less than favorable reviews should tell you something. Thank you Daniel.. Ill be back.

Overall the range was nice we enjoyed the selection of rental guns. The range officer was pleasant and was very helpful. The reason for thr 2 stars would be the rude employee that decided yelling at us infront of the entire store would be appropriate. We were confused and embarrassed to say the least. Both of the range doors were open we werent aware that both doors shouldnt be open at the same time. (We went the ones that opened the door we just walked through) Post signs or mention it during the safety talk before going into the range. Yelling at paying customers and giving them dirty looks isnt the way to go. Spent over $200 just to be embarrassed. Probably wont return.

Very nice, new, clean building. The few employees i talked with are super chill. Stopped in twice before finally giving the range a try yesterday. Very nice range. Probably my favorite one around. Plus its nice to have an indoor range that i can shoot .556 in. The other local indoor range i shoot at is pistol cals only. Will definitely be back in the future.

After further review, I have changed my rating based off a few things. After using the gun I was sold I found out that its not as bad as online reviews made it seem. Which was my initial qualm. Bumped up a star for that. Owner contacted me and seemed genuinely interested in resolving my issues. Bumped up a star for that. On the other hand. Not all but some staff seem unprofessional (rude, lack of information to customers) Minus 2 stars for that. Not bad but also room for improvement.

I went into Shoot Point Blank seeking a handgun after being assaulted a few months prior. The entire staff was helpful and informative, but the person that stood out in my mind was Candy P.- this woman embodies AWESOME! She explained pros and cons of the guns I looked at and changed my perspective on heavily relying on getting a gun with a safety lock. On the range, gave me pointers on my stance and perfecting my grip of the firearm. She even invited my best friend and I to a Well-Armed Women course. She was EVERYTHING! Thank you so much Candy!

I took the AR class from Nick. The class was very informative. Nick kept it light and fun. I learned a ton. The range time was great as well. I would recommend this class to every AR owner.

The instructor was very knowledgeable and was very patient with all the participants taking the CCW course. All material was covered in order to pass the written exam. The only thing that bugged me was that there were some classmates that would comment or talk while the instructor was trying to move through the course which was irritating, but overall I did enjoy the class.

Called ahead to find out if they have a firearm in stock before making the trek there to buy and hit the button for sales and a lady answered the phone and asked if they can help me and I asked if they had firearm in stock and she very rudely responded all sales associates are busy, call back in 30 min and hung up.Why do they have a button for sales just to have someone answer the phone and say they are busy and rudely hang up? I own and collect firearms and know a lot of people who also do so and gonna tell all of them and post everywhere not to shop here. Ridiculous and unbelievable. Smh

Nice new venue for indoor range practice. Product inventory is also good. I have not attended a training class however the training rooms look clean and well lit. The range is large. Plenty of room to spread out during non-peak hours.

Me and my step mother got our ccw here and had a great experience! My step mother had little experience so our instructor Matt really stepped up to explain every little think to make her comfortable. The amount of improvement was remarkable by the end of the course!

Shoot Point Blank is a well-established business. Every time my wife and I walk in to their locations, we feel very comfortable with the way things are set up. The staff is very knowledgeable, very helpful, and is always willing to answer any questions we have. The facility also takes every safety precaution possible whether it has to do with the gun shop, or the inside range. The availability of firearms, accessories, and ammunition, is also very respectable.

Met Daniel today during my maiden visit. Great, knowledgeable, and friendly guy. The store is clean, organized, and welcoming.Two female employees clucking about customers not following guidelines. I would recommend better training to management of there staff.However, Daniel is the poster employee. I’ll be back to buy this weekend. They have some currently difficult to find pieces at competitive pricing.Should you stop in, speak with Daniel would be my recommendation.I believe this store is going through a birthing period, I am going to see how the location progresses.

Very nice range. Clean and can shoot more than just pistol caliber ammunition. The range time up on the screen for each lane is excellent. Employees are relaxed and fun to talk to about the products. I’ve seen a couple reviews on here about employees not following the mask policy. I’ve been to the Akron location a handful of times and they’re always wearing masks. Just hope the great employees that work here didn’t get written up or reprimanded because of one “Karen’s” opinion. Keep up the good work Shoot Point Blank.

First time is this store and I didnt feel like I was at a gun store lol. I felt like I was at friends house and they was showing me their gun collection. Everyone was nice, helpful and very educated on the guns and more. I was helped by Rob S and Evan S they are awesome! I am a beginner and those two made feel comfortable. Rob S was everything! He is extremely knowledgeable and honest! Made sure I was getting my money worth on the product I was buying. I googled gun ranges in my area and was happy I came here. A lot people do recommend this place just never knew where it was lol. Thanks to Rob and Evan I have even signed up for a membership. Good place definitely recommend people myself.

Had issues with setting up original Membership. The people at the desk seems to be surprised every time I come in and only need a range designation. Last time I went to shoot I had my range bag on the tables at the back of the range and was asked to keep it in the stall with me so it wouldnt get stolen. I was not getting anything out of it except for another box of ammo as needed. This does not leave me with a good impression if the range master is unsure if the range is safe from thieves. Overall I have had a pleasant experience and am still an elite member but cannot rate higher than a 3.

Went to trade in a Cz Accu Shadow 2 with about 500 rounds ran through it and in mint condition...for those who don’t know that is a $2,000 gun ...I was given an offer of $610.00I never take time to write reviews but this was just ridiculous.

With safety range instructors onsite all times, veterans behind the counters and tons of toys to play with or purchase, you will right at home here. The other thing I really like is they offer all kinds of classes from cleaning, to basic safety of firearms to private lessons. My wife and I completed our Ccw class here and our range instructor Nick was Amazing Clear and concise on his instructions and Fun we both figured it was going to be Stuffed shirt politics but it wasnt at all. We didnt even know we were qualifying until it was done very Low pressure and Amazing program Highly Suggest this place and the course.

A woman always answers the phone and isn’t educated on fire arms. She tells me time after time no associates are available and refuses to leave a message. She constantly will tell me to call back later.

Have been to 3 classes so far with different instructors and enjoyed every one. Being new shooters, my wife and I felt the classes do a great job providing information, techniques, and range time. Matt and Candy did a great job with my wife and me in the range in the basic handgun and CCW classes. I was impressed with how well both of us did with their instruction. No issues with CCW qual.Looking forward to getting into the shotgun classes and more range time.

Ended up being over 100 dollars for 2 people to shoot one handgun for a half hour. Save up the little more money to buy a .22 somewhere else and go shoot at a public range not worth it.

Terrible customer service. Stopped by 12/20/20 mid afternoon. Pretty busy as we entered. Was not greeted or even acknowledged for 12-15 minutes. One employee actually saw me standing waiting for help near the case with CZs and ignored me to talk with a couple that he apparently knows. When he was done talking he walked away, again without acknowledging me. We left and you lost a $600 sale.

Be aware that some of the staff can not follow the companys own policy of wearing masks and practicing social distancing. If you have health concerns for you or members of your family, it may be a factor if the place is worth it.Some staff are wonderful, some just dont take it seriously. Its their policy they dont follow, which is a flaw of the Akron location.

Amazing range with fun and friendly staff!I purchased my first firearm here and my other two. The staff is amazing! Nick Carter and Paul the manager.They are all very knowledgeable about the guns, product, and red dot sights for my gun. I been to many different other ranges/armory but by far it’s the best!My friends introduced me to this location and I keep seeing it off the highway and I always wanted to check it out. The facility is very clean and the stock of guns, ammo, and accessories are great! Truly a one stop shop!I took my CCW with Nick on 1/23/21. He is a former marine and very knowledgeable about the CCW class. I can tell that he is very passionate about firearms and firearm safety. He make sure that you know what you are doing as well! 10/10!!! I would recommend him as your CCW instructor. Go here for your CCW! He makes the 8 hours goes by quick. The class is so fun but yet very knowledgeable! I feel very confident that I can protect myself and the education behind the firearm!Paul, the manger is really great! Friendly staff who didnt talk down to us less experienced shooters. Guns seem priced competitively. Ammo is averagely priced. Attachments for handguns all over the place.Couldnt ask for more. Ill be trying to bring friends and family to shoot at their range, which is pretty safe, yet feels relaxed.

I had the pleasure of taking the CCW course from Candy Petticord Jan 10th.She did an excellent job! Candy was engaing, made you think about the seriousness of owning a firearm, and was very knowledgeable about the mechanics of guns, Ohio law, and the importance of continuing to train,learn and practice skills after getting the CCW license. I would highly recommend this class at SPB and Candy for any lessons or questions you may have in the future!Shoot Point Blank does a great job of keeping the facility safe during the pandemic by making sure people wear masks! I also witnessed staff following through on gun safety when they confronted a guest who walked in with a firearm not in a bag. SPB practices what they teach!

Excellent Range facilities and Staff. Would definitely recommend a membership so you can book range time as this is, in my opinion, the nicest range in Akron. As well the store front is wide open and most firearms in stock are on display. I have been told however, that they are only carrying one model of handgun at a time.

Stood at the counter for over 10 minutes waiting to buy ammo but no one waited on me. 3 associates walked by me several times and not one said anything to me. There were people in the store but it was not slammed busy. Left without buying anything. Bummer on the customer service.

My wife and I ordered a gun online and picked it up at our local armory. We signed up for CCW classes there but the wait was several months. We felt very uncomfortable and VERY out of place. We found Shoot Point Blank online and it was near our work so we (reluctantly) stopped in to browse. While browsing for a gun for my wife a young man name Nick approached us and asked if we had questions. I said we were just looking but he could tell I was a novice. He smiled at us and said dont be afraid to ask..I said ok and asked him for suggestions for a small gun for my wife..I explained we planned to get our CCW and my wife needed a gun. He was extremely patient and never once made us feel uncomfortable. He told us he was ex military and even taught the CCW classes at the store. He took pride in his knowledge and with his military background I felt comfortable in his presence. We looked at several firearms and eventually found one that my wife felt confident with. He was patient and engaging and didnt try to sell us something we didnt need. The entire staff was helpful and polite. I truly never thought Id find myself in a gun shop but times have changed. I have never even fired a gun in my life but in a time of uncertainty and as someone who runs a company and has children I have alot to protect! Truth is Im scared of guns but after meeting Nick and getting an education on firearms and firearms safety, which by the way.. most places charge for the info he shared and the lesson he provided at the counter. What a relief! Shoot Point Blank will change the way people view guns and gun safety and with guys like Nick leading the way SPB will set the standard by which all retail gun locations are measured. On a side note: When my wife and I left the store that day I said we are going to cancel our CCW class and schedule with Nick. Even if we lose our money it will be worth. Oh and the other company refused to give us back our money but gave us store credit Yet another reason to ONLY deal with shoot point blank. Great instructor very friendly & knowledgeable.

Stood in line for 15 minutes to buy a $9 AMMO CAN, which is ridiculous. There was 2 customers, including myself in the whole store at 12pm. Zero knowledge on firearms, or even how many rounds a mag can have. Call their corporate number & you cant get anyone on the phone. None of the extensions exist even tho they were just read to me. Kinda disappointing.

I love the store and range. The only thing negative i can say is on how long it takes to get people checked in to shoot.

I went there to buy some handgun ammos and was told our policy now is we dont sell ammos unless youre either (1) a shoot point blank member, or (2) a range user at the day u buy ammos, or (3) a firearm buyer @ the day u buy ammos, or (4) a student taking range profenicy @ the day u buy ammos.When I said I was unable to use the range as I took no firearms to the store, they asked me to rent a gun, an eye and an ear protector, and pay half hr range using fees, saying that I would get what I want after all of these payments.Therere hundreds ways to do business yet theyve chosen the worst way to milk customers. Byebye, will update it on Nextdoor and BBB review.

Been going here a while. Very inconsistent service, staff is disorganized and takes to long to get checked in. Long line, one check in line open while other staff stand there and watch you wait . Nice facility but there are better options out there

Can’t believe they’re tucked away behind some other Business On Killian because I’ve driven by 1000 times & today was the first time I saw the sign !! Had to turn around but That’ll never happen again !! As I was leaving, Aa Dad was walking in with his 3 Young Daughters, all wearing eye & ear protection !!! GOD BLESS AMERICA FOLKS !!! 5 Stars
