Rebuild Canvas enclosures on Bayliner 45 PilothouseOver the course of this project, I realized that Scott was a perfectionist. He cared for the simple to complex details. Nobody in this business would have made the extra effort to do a perfect job. Small business owners that do all of their own work are hard to find. Ones that have 40 years of experience have retired or dont take new customers. Try Sea Worthy and be ready to renew your trust and integrity in this one man Alameda operation. My Bayliner 45 canvas and Strataglass was not in good condition. I called Scott at Sea Worthy and he initially repaired and rebuilt the flybridge enclosure. IT LOOKS LIKE NEW!!! He went far beyond my expectations for 10 year old canvas that the snaps didnt connect, some of the Strataglass was cracked and the length of the canvas had shrunk enough that there was no way to attach the bottom row of snaps. He replaced the Strataglass with new and reinforced all the areas that were damaged by replacing the canvas. He installed twist locks instead of snaps which work and last far longer. He replaced zippers that were worn or didnt slide properly. Installed a wood base rail for the aft section of the bottom canvas to attach plus repel rain water.EVERY PANEL LOOKS BRAND NEW. Its tight and properly connected at all points. I spent a few more bucks than I anticipated, but the results were more than well worth it.Scott rebuild the aft cockpit canvas and replaced one panel that was shot. Also installed one new panel with snaps to the ceiling of the hardtop. This all looks and feels like new canvas. He thinks about the finish before he starts working on the solution.

Scott recently refurbished two bow cushions for our boat based in Alameda.Overall experience was great - the quality of the refurbishment of the cushions was high and Scotts personality was great. He also had them done when he said he would. 5 stars!

Ive went from Rags to riches w/ Sea Worthy Canvas! Scotty and crew in their convenient Alameda location will take care of all your marine textile needs. The pleasant and friendly intake process started out very professional, customer oriented and solution based. Sea Worthy responded swiftly via phone / texts with relevant design, structure, cost and lead-time information. I advised Sea Worthy that i was replacing an existing, well-worn mainsail cover. I was pleased when Scott took this information and turned it into a customization opportunity to tailor fit the new sail cover exactly to the boats particular configuration and my preferences. I marked up the existing sail cover armed with a a sharpie pen with the desired length / circumference fabric revisions as well as fastener locations, keep out areas and grommet/cordage locations.I made an appointment to drop off the marked up sail cover to the shop. Upon arrival, sea worthy had a large worktable set up outside (Fashionable 2020 anti-Covid19 protection precautions...) to roll out my existing cover (All 15 feet of it!). Masked Scotty greeted me and got right to work going over the existing and proposed changes to the cover. Sea Worthy has been in business for decades in Alameda and it shows; there is absolutely no substitute for relevant experience, design and engineering talent and proactive use case discussions as to how, when and where the new cover will be used.Sea Worth advised they only use top quality Sunbrella matls, strong underlayment reinforcements, marine grade threads and robust, corrosion resistant fasteners all around. Scott then provided a written quote; I was pleased to find a very fair priced and expeditious lead time for locally made, custom engineered product - I felt comfortable placing a 50% deposit, left my marked up cover with Sea worthy and drove back over the bridge.Seaworthy went to work, quickly ordering in the materials and they started cutting. Within a couple of days, Sea Worthy called/texted to verify dimensions and other preferences. This was a pleasant experience and conveyed the customer focused attention to detail needed to fabricate a truly custom fitted textile. A day or so later, I was delighted to find a Work in progress video show up attached to a text message; totally unexpected and truly appreciated gesture from Sea Worthy. A few more days passed and another video showed up depicting the 90 % completion mark and advising that pick-up was near. With confidence after seeing the video, I schedule a Wide-Window appointment that Scott graciously accommodated.Upon arrival for pick-up, Sea Worthy then laid out the new cover on the exterior work table and went over the entire design and fabrication results. They also returned all materials I brought to them for reference. I gladly paid the balance and proceeded back to SF to test fit the product to the boat.I noticed immediately the robustness of the new sail cover - this is a 20-30 year product. I rolled out the cover over the boom and fastened it - the expression Fits like a glove immediately came to mind... - it was perfect. I am having Sea Worthy now remake my 35 jib sock as well as other accessory textile items. If you are looking for superior marine fabrics, custom fitted and fabricated to your exacting needs, attentive customer service at a fair price and quick a quick turn-around, look no further then Seaworthy in Alameda!

Scott at Sea Worthy Canvas modified and rebuilt the dodger and bimini on our Baba 40 sailboat. Scott is a true canvas artist. I wanted several modifications to the original dodger to improve the sight lines, ergonomics and overall protection provided by the setup. Scott worked closely with me every step of the way measuring and re-measuring, creating mockups, troubleshooting, and improving every last aspect of our canvas. He worked with me to come up with an eye-pleasing shape to the canvas which compliments our classic sailboat. He built our canvas to be stout and ready to handle blue-water cruising. Everything is double or triple-reinforced and designed and built for longevity. Scotts attention to detail is amazing. If youre looking for a quick-and-fast cookie-cutter canvas job, Scotts not your guy. If you have the time to invest and want something completely custom and exceptionally well-built, give Scott a call. Quality work takes time, but the time spent is well worth it.
