They have good products but they are unfriendly. They also treat people like theives. It would be nice if they smiled and didnt close the register when they see you comming
Great produce and one of the best bakeries in the Bay Area. The butcher shop and cheese/wine shops are also good (selection and quality). Love the Beanery for coffee, tea andor a great snack. The humus platter is terrific.
Great place to grab some food and shop.
Our go-to grocery. Great products, produce, wonderful people!
My favorite place for vitamins etc
This is my FAVORITE MARKET in the Bay Area. The people are wonderful and knowledgeable. The space is immaculate...the food is So fresh.I rarely go to any other place to shop....all the combined markets within are fabulous too!!
Like the place, but twice now Ive seen vendors delivering supplies to the marketplace who were unmasked and no one stopped them at the door. That does not inspire confidence or make customers want to return.
Love the salads from Greens and Grains
Grocer here has great high quality fresh produce, Barons meat is butsher shop with a wide variety of fish and meat. Note: this place does come at a premium.
The Cafe is awesome
Really disappointed with this place. They put new rules in place because of the SIP order which I understand however they are not using common sense. They are requiring everyone to use hand sanitizer before going in AND requiring you to put gloves on (what is the point of both?). Gloves do nothing to prevent spread of germs and everyone knows that. They are wasting so many gloves and of course those will end up in a landfill. They need to stop doing that. Even requiring hand sanitizer before going in isnt going to prevent the spread of germs. I expect better from them.
The Marketplace is a connection of stopped under one roof. It has a sort of San Francisco ferry building feel. There is a very good bakery, butcher, wine & cheese shop, a natural grocery, a coffee shop, and a couple of places serving food ready to eat. We usually go and buy excellent French bread and sometimes some croissants / pastries from Feel Good Bakery (odd name, but very good), some sliced meats (prosciutto, coppa, etc.) from Barrons butcher shop, and some soft cheeses from Farmstead Wines & Cheeses.
Excellent one stop shop! Like a mini Ferry Building Market Hall! :)
Great place!!
Love this place. Amazing meats at Barons...fresh and fabulous organic produce at the natural grocers, delicious baked goods from Feel Good. Its my go to and I drive 30 min each way to shop there!
Am in full agreement with Ms. Giles. I would have preferred to keep this complaint in private, with Management, but unfortunately contact information is non existent.A month or so I would have given this place a better review but since the new precautions due to the pandemic this place has lost a lot of ground with me.Make managements requirements for customers to enter the store in writing and clear, rather than leave it the whims of *some* of the monitors as to what is offered, what is suggested, and what is required. I do not feel the need to publicly state my medical conditions, but for some of us sanitizers, anti-bacterials and other harsh soaps not only injure us but are counter-productive in stopping the transmission of infectious agents.Giles comments about the disposable gloves are spot-on but leave out that many of them, particularly the ones that you are offering are so light weightThere are other violations of privacy and over stepping of boundaries that I will not detail here, but that I also do not encounter at Berkeley Bowl or Farmer Joes and yet both of those establishments seem to do a reasonably good job of protecting us and each other from this terrible scourge. What the Bowl and Joes cannot claim is being local to Alameda, but the Marketplace is wearing that claim mightily thin.To the consumer / reader I will note that once you get past the sanitation police and inside the place, the folks at the bakery, the wine and cheese store and the Beanery, and yes even the employees at the check out counter of the grocery market seemed engaged and more interested in safety than compliance.
I love the one stop shop for organic produce, local meats and fresh baked breads.
Everything I need is there!
I want a Marketplace like this back home in FL. Lots of selection. Individual shops for wine & cheese, breads and pastry, as well as meat. Kind of like a local whole foods.
Such a fun atmosphere and convenient market. Everything for a great meal to cook or take away is there. I always see people I know, and always leave with a big smile!
Great selection of groceries, baked goods, sushi, salads, mini massage. Good parking.Enjoy my visits.
Love, love, love this place! The grocery store, meat counter, wine shop, and bakery (Feel Good Bakery) are all fantastic. And did I mention East End Pizza? Eat there or get a par-baked pizza you can bake at home. And way less crazy than the Lake Merrit Whole Foods.
Alameda Market Place has great natural/organic grocery store, meat, poultry, seafood, artisan wine and cheese, bakery as well as other gourmet food and restaurants. This is a wonderful high end groceries, etc. and a great alternative to large chain grocery stores.
Altogether great place to shop though can be a bit expensive at times and doesnt always have what you want. If youre looking for something higher quality. Or looking for something thats rare or hard to find this can be a great alternative to the normal supermarket.
Love this health food market.
Enjoy going to Alameda Marketplace. Its a friendly/home environment. All the vendors are great and provide excellant service. Food is great!
Best place for lunch in the area. Wonderfully friendly staff, and lots of quality food options. Greens & grains and Feel Good Bakery are my favorite. I also love the Kumbucha selection at the natural food market.
Awesome selection. Great vegetables. Carried wonderful local products.
The grocery is an organic mecca....the other businesses make this destination a must-go. One stop for all of your gastronomic needs!
Love everything about this place! Feel good, sushi and the butcher are great! This place has it all.
Marketplace covers all my needs. From groceries, Feel Good Bakery, coffee cafe and quick bites to eat.
Really nice place to shop and have some great food as well.
Nice store. A bit expensive. Lots of good variety.
Awesome for organic meats, grocery and bakery. Coffee, sushi bar, cooking store, deli and sandwich counter.
Great selection in grocery store, wine shop and bakery.
Love the butcher shop and the grass feed beef.
Neat shops, couple of nice food spots, & chocolate!
Super nice kitchen/gift area.
Great selection and love the small vendors.
Great salad spot there! Greens & Grains
Great markets with high quality products at expected high prices.
It cool, but very expensive for grocery shopping. But Greens and Grains and the little Cafe inside are awesome!!
