Really good food. Order thru uber eats. Get the hippie hash.. they make all the accommodations and my coworkers love it also.
First time here and we really enjoyed it. The food was good and service was excellent. After breakfast we got a few donuts and it was delicious! Im sure we will be back. Parking is not the best though. Prepare to walk a bit.
This little hole in the wall fixes up a breakfast! My boyfriend and I came thinking there were bloody Mary’s on the menu, but stayed anyway and we’re not disappointed! An awesome Bloody Mary would bring it up to 5 ⭐️ in our book!
Late Breakfast & Lunch was ok. The French toast was not hot it was warm. The hot chocolate was good! The food came out not even 10 minutes after it was ordered. The waitress was extremely nice and helpful with providing service. The other employees helped to bring in the supplies for the restaurant. In between taking in supplies the employee refilled a water and coffee and did not wash her hands. The cook came out with a hand truck to assist also. Five females and two males and not one person washed their hands. We sat and watched.
Food got to us quickly. We had the hippie hash, French toast and the hashtag. The French toast was the winner, may look plain and simple but it was a flavor bomb! Hippie hash was yum, salsa was just like pico nothing special, hashtag was also very good. We didn’t get to try any of the donuts since we were stuffed, but we’ll be back to try them. No frills place, cozy seating.

First time out for breakfast in 18 months. It was good, a treat to have bacon and eggs over hash browns.

I dont know what happened to this place but their food is terrible now. Got the chicken apple sausage scramble - hash browns were completely burnt and raw at the same time. Sausage was burnt. Whole meal just tasted like burnt carbon. The cashier reached her bare hands into the case to grab my donuts after taking payments and fiddling with things behind the desk. Would be shocking to have someones dirty hands handle the food thats going into your mouth pre-pandemic but during COVID its a deal breaker. Mom went there without me today not realizing I had a bad experience a couple days ago and her food was inedible too. Guess this is their new normal. Will not be back.
Decent prices and service, and great portions. Tables a bit greasy/crumb-y upon entrance. They had decent patronage when we arrived around 10:30am, with customers coming in at a consistent trickle.Food was quick to arrive but the flavors generally could be amped up a little. Hashbrown texture was great, though! (some crisp to the mostly soft, fresh potato).I ordered a brunch-irrito, which came wrapped in a spinach tortilla. I wasnt a fan of the way the available Crystal hot sauce nor the Tapatío made this taste, but it definitely needed SOMETHING extra in addition to supplement the mild flavor.
Food was delicious, the donuts look amazing! Only reason the lose a star, is because both waitresses were at some point eating their shift meal on the floor in front of customers. That’s a big no no, in the industry. We as paying customers don’t want you to hand us waters, right after you put chips in your mouth. Aside from that, place is solid.
Eggs Bennie is decent. Donuts are made from a mix and are just average, but unless you want to pay for the froufrou donuts at Petit, there are no better alternatives here.
The place is the definition of hole in the wall. I walked past it twice before I found it. Being it was a Saturday morning, it was no surprise that the place was packed. However there was a good flow of people coming and going.My breakfast was delicious. When I sat down, the first thing my eyes landed on was a sign for Nutella filled pancakes with Strawberries, it was a must have at that point and I add some tradition breakfast sides to go with.I cant wait to go back and try their breakfast Mac n Cheese. From what I read it is backed mac n Cheese with panko crumbs, bacon, and topped with an egg. Definitely sound interesting.
I ordered a breakfast sandwich. It was by far the worst breakfast Ive ever had. This Sammie had the smallest amount of meat on incredibly thick bread. You could barley taste bacon in the sandwich. What it did taste like was burnt butter or oil. You couldnt pay me to eat here again. To be truthful it was foul, absolutely foul.

We get the Hashtag breakfast plate with added spinach and mushrooms. Its always good. Not too fancy. Just tasty food in good quantity. Theres reliably good coffee and fresh oj as well. DeliciousSince covid we just get take out as were cautious. Theyre good about covid precautions and we always enjoyed going to eat in prepandemic. Good ppl here.
The food was pretty good except for the poached eggs. They came hard boiled and dry on the inside. I wish I could say that there was even a tiny bit of liquid yolk, buy the whole thing was hard. It was very disappointing*Edited my review because I really appreciated the restaurants reply and I plan on returning
Always busy, but never a long wait. Call ahead. Donuts are bomb, always fresh oil. Only ppl on Alameda that do a decent Benedict right now

My husband and I are so grateful Homeskillet is open during this pandemic. We have ordered several times through Door Dash and the food is just as good as if we ate inside the restaurant. Because of what’s going on, they aren’t honoring their free donut with Yelp check-in but that’s okay by us. If that means they can stay open and continue making delicious food (and donuts) for the foreseeable future, it’s absolutely worth it.

Food was a bit cold when I got it. If it is a cold day I recommend to sit by the windows because when the door opens you will definitely feel a cold air draft. It has a short wait on some weekends. If the food was warm it might have been better. The staff is super friendly.
Very cozy, delicious find. This little cafe serves yummy food and had very good service. The prices are moderate bit the food is very tasty. They have a short waiting line on the weekends, but it moves quickly if you are a small group.
The doughnuts here are excellent, however the food is a bit lacking. Most of the dishes come with no greens whatsoever and are very heavy. The taste is fine, I just wish there was at least some parsley or green onion.
This place has the best diner breakfast on the island, and it comes out fast! Often 5 minutes after you order! The staff is great too, very friendly, everyone checks on you, even if youre at a different servers table.
Huge portions of homey comfort foods. Fast, friendly service and some really fantastic donuts. Seems to get a heavy weekday lunch crowd from the nearby local school. Convenient public parking lot just behind the restaurant.

Stopped in for breakfast with my partner.Our breakfast arrived quickly; the only flaw was an error in my order which was quickly remedied.Its breakfast, so its not exactly fine dining...it was, however, tasty.The prices were about what I expected for ”modern” eateries.Overall, it wasnt an unpleasant experience; Ill stop in again should I be in Alameda.
There was a wait when we arrived (write yourself on the list), but we were seated rather quickly. Once we ordered the food came out quickly. The food was good, no complaints. I like the cinnamon they put in their pancakes, just the right amount. Overall, I would visit again for a warm, homey breakfast cafe atmosphere.
Creative donuts and great comfort breakfast food
Im in GA. Used DoorDash to order my mom breakfast for Mothers Day. Ordered a couple of breakfast skillets and hot cakes. Everything was packaged beautifully, hot and delicious. She really enjoyed it. In the midst of this horrible pandemic, thank you for your wonderful service. Homeskillet teamed with DoorDash for the win. God bless and I pray everyone stays healthy and safe.

Service was fast but food was average. I had a smashed croissant as French toast with a side of canned whip cream ( Im a firm believer that French toast should come with real whip cream). Cool spot if you just want regular breakfast.

Food is decent and the flow of the business was fast enough, so customers would not need to wait so long over weekends. The only part is suck though, parking. Sometimes it is hard to find parking
Good spot to grab brunch on the weekend. Lines can be long but the chefs and staff are on point to getting your meal to you very quickly once you sit down. The only disappointment is the missing liquor license so you can have mimosas with your meal!
Very speedy service on a weekday morning around 9. Less than ten minutes from ordering to receiving food.Food itself was okay. Tasty enough, but a little bland. Adding salt and pepper helped.

My weekend breakfast stalwart, but be willing to sit at the small counter or be prepared to wait. The doughnuts are not my style, but they are well made. Fair prices for the area, and decent portions, with some creative but homey-feeling options.

I was visiting the Oakland area and wanted some good breakfast, I saw the reviews on Homeskillet and decided I would give it a try. Homeskillet is on DoorDash for delivery and pick-up and due to Covid there is currently no dine in so I place my order on DoorDash which was very easy and convenient with a 18-20 min wait. Upon arrival I was asked if I had a pick up order and I let them know I did and the name it was under; as the lady begin to help someone else I decided to check in on Yelp and with checking in your suppose to get a free donut Mon-Thru, since today is Friday and Im only in the area for a couple of days I asked if I could get the free donut for checking in and the lady said she actually is not doing the free check in at the moment, she was very nice about it but there were lots of donuts right there that was an easy good customer service deed that could’ve happened right there but it didn’t (note). Me and my family order food; I order the classic breakfast we were all happy with our food it taste good, my sausage was a little over cooked but it was better than being under cooked. Would we eat there again? Yes everyone agreed it was good food.
I love this place. I have the traditional breakfast, of eggs bacon hash browns and toast with a cup of coffee. They have wonderful freshly cooked Donuts all different kinds like regular glazed, and fancy ones like blueberry cake donut with a lemon frosting and a maple donut with bacon!!! People love bringing their children here because its friendly and the food is fresh. Bacon can be crisper but it was sooo good!This part goes to the owners of this wonderful place. You have such wonderful wonderful people working there! You guys are the sweetest most humble people, and that is such a plus! Very very kind.You are great and I love you. Thank you for your ❤

Food is always great when dining in. However ordering to go is a different story. The french toast is always a favorite. My favorite entrees are the Hashtag, BirdsNest and Denver Omelette. The donuts are good but I prefer the dough not to be so thick like they are. Staff is friendly and always helpful

Went for a hearty breakfast before a day of partying at San Franciscos Pride Festival. The Alameda Scramble was delicious and the service was quick and attentive.

This a review for just their doughnuts. This is probably one of the most unique doughnut places when it comes to flavor. They put a twist on the glaze and flavor the icings. The best part however is the doughs consistence. It has just the right elasticity and bounces right back whenever you bite into it.
Good food with ample portions. Did not have to wait long for service in a group of two. Larger groups may have a harder time and longer wait finding seeing because most of this place is two person tables.

They are generally quick and efficient.Fair warning if you go during peak hours on weekends, there will be quite the wait, usually 15-30 minutes due to the smaller size although this is common for alameda brunch spots.
Its a good place when theres not a lot of people, but as a breakfast place, it sucks! Long waiting time, they sat us and forgot to come check if we were ready to order. When we did ordered, they brought our food kind of cold and dry.

Good food friendly service. Coffee ok BUT Peets is next door for the picky connoisseurs. Waitress so busy she forgot to give my meal mate another pat of butter so ask for extra up front to cover those extra thick slices of toast!

The turkey pesto breakfast sandwich was bomb!!! Recommend trying something on the back of the menu. The Benedict wasnt anything to write home about, alot folks looked like they ordered that green burrito, it didnt look special. Hash browns were good and judging by the line for the donuts, those seemed to be good too
