I highly recommend Desert Sun Motors for service and for purchasing a vehicle. I worked with Becky when my car broke down while out of town and she went out of her way to provide excellent customer service and truly work to find ways to help me in my unfortunate situation. Whatever they pay Becky, it’s not enough. The rest of the employees were all very friendly and professional as well. Despite them being 3 hours away, the next time I am considering purchasing a GM vehicle I will make the trip to Alamogordo to work with them!

Do not base your opinion about the entire dealership on what I am telling you about my most recent experience. Everyone including the owner and especially Ms. Tess who is so sweet and caring, have been the greatest people to work with (except for my most recent sales rep)and I have purchased a car from them back in 2018. The most recent experience I have had is My sales representative told me that deposits are non refundable even after I have been waiting 99 days for a Truck that was (built on Feb 24, 2021, Per GM Customer Relations specialist) This same sales representative told me when I put the deposit down that the truck should be here in a couple of weeks but regardless the next blue truck that comes in is mine. That blue truck came in and guess what, it went to another customer and another sales representative. Lies after lies from her. She kept telling me the truck was in transit also. If you go to the GM website, you can see what trucks are in transit and to what dealership. This truck has never been in transit to anywhere. She even told me again the truck was in transit just recently and it is not. GM Customer representative told me on the phone 31 July, that truck was still sitting in the same place they parked it back in Feb. Other GM dealerships in NM and TX have gotten at least a dozen trucks since I ordered mine 99 days ago and two dealerships have gotten close to 30 each. Thanks to Ms. Tess, I did get my deposit back contrary to what my sales rep tried to convince me of. I dont think my sales rep did the order correctly from the beginning.

Had a great buying experience at this establishment. Had trouble finding a specific truck and once one became available they immediately called me. I live out of town and made the drive to purchase with them. Evan Ross in the sales department was nothing less than exceptional during the entire process. Fiancée went in for an oil change and they didn’t do their routine check, cabin air filter was dirty and nothing under the hood was checked. Didn’t even tell her it was dirty. dipstick showed half and wasn’t even to the right oil capacity. Takes it back and they just try to prove her wrong. When clearly it wasn’t the way it was before. Service department isn’t very great at all, put me on hold for like 10 minutes when i try to contact them back about the situation. Stressful time dealing with these folks.

I found everyone here great to work with. We we havent reached a deal yet but Im confident we will.

We purchased a 2020 HD $80,000 truck!! from Desert Sun in Alamogordo Sep 2020 the truck is 10 months old. the truck currently siting in Las Lunas NM at a dealership broken . My husband works out of town so he is left stranded the dealership is unable to get the truck back to Alamogordo. I was told so sorry nothing we can do about your broken truck..... ???? by service department in Alamogordo. I give them zero stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am hoping i can get a response from the service manager.......... still waiting

Purchased a used truck 2 months ago. Trailer lights wouldnt work. Service write said I would have to pay to diagnose. I refuse to pay to have you look at a truck with 14k miles. Finally test it herself, it is bad. Replaces the 7 way plug, fixed problem. While clearing the fault in the computer somehow make the trailering app freeze. No one knows how to work on modern computer systems. Finally I Google and tell them how to make it work. The only reason I go is because there are no other options in Alamogordo. Seems like they have no loyalty towards the customer after spending $64k.

I stopped in after seeing a red GMC Canyon crew cab on the lot. Fernando Vasquez came out and asked if I had any questions, my wife was still in our car. I had a bad experience with a Chevrolet dealership in El Paso and to be more specific the salesman helping me was not knowledgeable in their product (Silverado 1500) which immediately tells me this guy is bs’ing me. This dealership sold my 82 yo uncle FIVE cars in a 12 month period. One of the cars price was more than his house mortgage. There is no way they could have run credit reports because his monthly expenses were significantly more than his fixed income. The last car was financed at 8.9% interest. They took advantage of an older man with memory loss.

Out of all the past experiences ive had with other dealerships, this has by far been the best! Lawrence wasnt pushy and looked to see what the best deal was that he could get for us. He stayed within the vehicle price range and style that we were looking for. If im still stationed here when it comes time to purchase another vehicle, ill definitely be going back to him!

I purchased a new Chevy Spark at Desert Sun this past Saturday and the entire transaction, beginning to end, could not have been easier or gone more smoothly. Eddie, my sales consultant, was able to answer every question I had about the car and provided information about several things I hadnt thought to ask about -- all without any kind of pressure or up-selling, which I really appreciated. Id arranged for a vehicle loan before coming to the dealership, but Tessie, the finance officer handling the sale, helped me take advantage of a lower interest rate that was being offered. And Eric, a CTE specialist, helped me set up my OnStar trial and walked me through all of the electronic bells and whistles that were new to me with the Spark. We purchased a Buick Envision 4 days ago after 5 pm. Lawrence was so patient with our questions. He answered each question thoroughly and I drove home around 7 pm with a new car. He knows his stuff. Outstanding customer service and maintenance at the Service Dept. We recently moved to Alabama where the contrast was significant. At an Alabama Chevy dealership, I had to wait 3 hours for a shuttle compared to Desert Sun’s 4 minute wait time. Desert Sun does a great job at responding quickly and Garrett has always been courteous and respectful. I have moved to CO and am tempted to drive to Alamogordo for standard maintenance, that is how much I trust the Service Dept at Desert Sun. The service department is excellent! My tie-rod broke in the mountains and they fixed it promptly and at a fair price. In addition, I live in El Paso and was not able to pick up the vehicle for almost two weeks. They were kind enough to store it for that time and even washed it without charge. Everyone I worked with was highly professional. I’ll go out of my way to have vehicle service done here again in the future.

Great experience with Desert suns motors.Cameron our salesman sold us an amazing truck.Just check the axle ratio in every truck your interested in because whats standard to GM is not standard to DS. So I got a truck with a lighter towing capacity then i was expecting.

Even though Dodge is now owned by Desert Sun, they still have Jack keys Mechanics. I payed $180 for them to tell me a part that doesnt exist on my vechiel is broke. I spent about 1 week with parts department for them to find the problem. Parts Department 5 stars

Had a great experience with my car purchase. Fernando was an excellent and friendly sales associate. There was no pressure and the negotiations were very fair. I arrived at about 8:15 and had keys to a new car before 11:00 am (including test drive, negotiations, financing, etc). If your looking for a car, go ask for Fernando, you wont be disappointed!!If I had any critique it would be with the finance department. While the lady was very nice, it seemed a little sly on how the $2K+ warranty was presented. When it came time to sign the document regarding the interest and monthly payment she showed me the paper and said this is the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty and your monthly payment will be $XXX, sign here. I had my pen on the line to sign when I decided to ask about the warranty (as that was the first mention of it). I asked if it was included and she said no, its twenty two fifty. I said, twenty two fifty? She then clarified $2,250 (which was about 20% of the cost of the car I was buying). I never asked for a warranty and was never told about the it before it was slipped into the total cost. I chose to forgo the warranty. Im not disputing the warrantys value, just the manner which it was put in so nonchalantly with no explanation was a bit disappointing and something I could have easily signed up to without really knowing I was doing it.Dont let the second paragraph stop you from visiting though. Ive bought many cars from dealerships over the years and this was definitely the most pleasant experience Ive had and Fernando was certainly the nicest sales consultant Ive worked with. Normally, during negotiations I get the feeling the dealership is being dishonest on their positions... this was not the case at all here. We worked out a great price that both parties could live with with relative ease. Thanks again Fernando, we love our car!!!

Extremely satisfied with the staff and company. I went in to price vehicles, like any place I was immediately helped by a sales representative named Luis. I told him what I wanted a used chevy Colorado since it was in my price range and I need it in 3 days. Not only did he find in in 36 hours but he got a brand new 2016 in my range in less than 2 days. Too top it off 3 weeks passed by and I did not have plates yet, he recognized me downtown on the weekend and helped me that day to expedite the process. If that wasnt enough he even brought me my plates to my home so I could finish moving in. Excellent customer service, clean building, everyone was kind and congratulated on my buy. Everyone seemed to like their job and wanted to be at work.
