I recently requested a gift basket for my brother who had just undergone major surgery at an Albany hospital. I recently relocated to North Carolina and could not visit my brother. I knew the gift had to be special. I did my research and came across the website for ONE OF A KIND GIFTS. I ordered it last minute on a Saturday. The owner and staff were very friendly and helped me through the process. My brother called to tell me how overwhelmed he was. How large the basket was and how happy he was to see something special and sweet for a change. He enjoyed the cookies. They were soft and fresh. He will be talking the rest home to enjoy. It was a Get Well basket with a balloon tied to it. He said it was beautiful. It really made his day and brightened up his room. He has received many compliments. This is my go to place when sending gifts to family back home in the Capital Region. I like to shop local small business when I can - even though they can ship nationwide. I like that I can call and get something custom versus other gift basket websites so you end up with very personalized gifts for the person/occasion. My son and daughter-in-law received the baby basket with balloons and were pleased with it. I was not pleased that I ordered this on a Wednesday, was not informed of a delivery date and in fact it wasnt delivered until Friday. Then was told because it had balloons there was a delay. I ordered locally thinking this would be handled that day and personally delivered but when I called asking why it hadnt been delivered yet I was told either Fedex or UPS delivers it. Communication needs to be clearer and also specific about what is in the basket.

I called last minute about ordering and delivering a gift for my moms birthday and they were more than accommodating. I ordered chocolate covered strawberries which I was told they did not have any fresh ones on hand, but that they would go out and grab some so they could make them fresh. I ordered about 10 am and they were delivered by 3! They really went the extra mile for me. I also ordered 2 of the homemade soups which my mom said were excellent!
