My old provider closed ( Anthem), so I selected the first provider on the list (Apria) ... what a mistake. It took a while for the paperwork to be completed (insurance verification etc) . I was annoyed, but I thought once that pain was done, the process will go quickly. I was wrong. It is now about 5 weeks later. I just called and spoke with a person that told me she cant give me ANY guidance or estimate on shipping. I paid my part of the bill 5 weeks ago. I expect that insurance did too. The only party that cant deliver is Apria. I would not do business with them again. I would NOT recommend them. I wish I checked the reviews before selecting them (it seems this is a pattern that is going back years).

This should not be used as a platform to get customer service. I have my supplies because I had to go above and beyond to get what I needed. The Albany office is not useful. If they won’t let you drive there with a mask and read your device then fine. If they won’t left you take a picture of video to prove that you are compliant then fine. If you they won’t take the word of your doctor who has the document proof that you’re complaint then that’s not fine. Waiting an extra 30+ days to breathe clean air while you sleep is not fine. I worked with someone after doing my first review and as promised I am putting in a 3 Star review only because at the end of the day I found one single person who knew what customer service was. She talked with a smile and took care of the problem. I wasn’t trying to rob or cheat the system I just wanted to breathe clean air and live a little longer. I put my foot down only because I really do use my device everyday.

One of the worst - do business elsewhere. Beginning on 6/14/21, I tried to obtain a walker with a seat and still had nothing [but lies] on 7/6/21. Cannot say enough bad about this company.

HORRIBLE - do not use this company. I had the same EXACT experience as T. Sandercox, They submitted the billing to the wrong insurance for 9 months and then called me and told me to pay them $600. I am disputing the issue but see today that they took the $600 from my ccd 3 weeks ago! Over the 9 months I have spoken to this company over 25 times with questions, equipment replacement, etc - not one person mentions billing concerns! I, too, was told to call back in 30-45 days. This is NOT over Apria! Do not use this company.

I am confused by all the negative reviews, I have had nothing but great luck with Apria! Recently started using a CPAP machine, and they have been wonderful! Supplies sent immediately, they answer any questions I have, and have called to see how everything was working out. Sounds like an entirely different company!

By far the worst customer service ever!! Received a statement and called immediately to resolve the issue. Apria billed the wrong had the correct insurance ID, however chose to bill BC instead of BS. I called to give the billing information and was told the insurance company denied as I was not eligible at the time of service. They would not send me a copy of the EOB. Being a medical biller for over 35 years, wrong answer It would be member not found when wrong insurance is billed. CSR rep reluctantly took my information and stated it would take 30 to 45 business days to verify coverage. I offered to run the eligibility and email or fax. I was assured they had a department for that. There is no way it takes more than a few minutes to check on line through BS portal or any software used with DME coverage verification and rebill the claim. This did not happen. I asked to speak with a supervisor and gave my direct contact information. One day later, my husband received a call that he missed on his cell phone. A message was left stating this is a supervisor from Apria, call me back if you need my help. No name, no phone number. I did call BS of NENY who called the billing department at Apria would got the same line of nonsense. Lets just say, to date BS of NENY has not been billed and I have received yet another statement. I called the billing department and was told that BS was billed on September 17. If they were billed, why did I receive another statement?? BS of NENY has no bills from Apria to date and is again calling the billing department to get resolution. WARNING, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!!

Was waiting for an equipment exchange. They said the delivery will be made within 2 hours but never heard back or no one came came that day. Have to call them the next day to check on the status but said will call back with delivery time.

Unbelievably poor service. I was promised a knee scooter before the 7 to 10-day business window. Im now on business day 14. Ive called 4 times....Once with the help of my insurance company trying to motivate them, I still I am no closer to having this knee scooter. I wouldnt use them at all if my insurance had other options.

This place is a joke. Doctor faxed a script last month and still no word from them. I called the local number, which transferred to their corporate offices and they told me to give my doctor a different fax number saying that “if they faxed it to the local branch it may have gone to the wrong fax machine there.” And then what? Nobody knows how to walk the paper to someone else in the office? I can tell this experience will be just fan-freakin’-tastic.

Removed themselves from my insurance companies network without telling me and then shipped me a product and then a very large bill a few months later. Horrible customer service, my issue is still not resolved. I am trying to return the product.

Ive consistently called Apria to speak to a respiratory therapist. I work in a school so I cant just take a call at anytime. Ive repeatedly told them to call at 4:30 since my classes end at that time. They consistently call at different times. They have no after 5 or weekend hours to call. Each time Ive called I have to jump through hoops for 20 minutes and still dont get the help I need. Meanwhile I cant use my CPAP till I speak to the respiratory therapist. So if I die in my sleep, youll know why.

Apria should be a decent operation; it isnt for several reasons. My dislike is such that I actively sought another provider.My initial contact was with Apria based in Brooklyn. I needed morning service, consistent with my work schedule; Apria could not deliver the goods. Neither would they drop off the equipment with my -- bonded -- doorman, claiming the tech had to teach me how to plug in the unit and set it. This was silly, since this aint rocket science.When I moved, the hand-off was smooth enough, but when it came time to add services (portable oxygen to go the stationary home unit), Apria couldnt deliver the portable oxygen concentrator (per doctors orders), delivering a home-fill oxygen system -- massively inconvenient. When I complained enough that a suitable POC was found, I was promised one thing but when I went to get it, was given another, less able machine. When it failed in service, no better options were available.Finally, Apria forces people to work through the company call center. Some Apria call center staff are competent, but have no idea what is actually going on in the area where I live. Many are not competent, and cannot get the job done. Though Apria has a local number, calls to it are routed to the central call center. Attempts to return calls >from< Apria are routed to the call center -- and cannot be routed from the call center to the local shop staff. This is plain stupid.Best to rename the firm Aporia.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. over an HOUR of wait time. I was hung up on the 1st try after 20 minutes of waiting. EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU TRY TO CALL THIS HAPPENS. They have a local number but it reroutes you to the main line, so good luck with trying to actually speak to a person.I called as a doctors office and spoke to someone immediately, only to be told I have to wait to speak to a manager. This too, has been so far a 23 minute phone call, I am currently waiting as I type.They bill you for things you dont buy. They tell you what you will be charged and your actual bill is completely different. I have not once had a bill be exactly what I was told it would be.USE A DIFFERENT COMPANY. save your time and energy!!!! THE WORST. EVER.

My dad had to switch to this company because of switching insurances. They were supposed to arrive between 1:30-5:30. Did not call until 7:30 that it would be another hour. And they didnt even arrive to 10 at night. Absolute ridiculous and hope to never have to deal with this company again. No consideration whatsoever.

OMG, worst possible service ever. Call every day or your case will be lost. I had to have my insurance company call them with me on the line and explain to at least five people that a PPO does not need authorization for durable medical equipment... and to remind them to schedule a fitting and not just ship it out in 2 - 7 days after receiving authorization. 25 days after they received my prescription, I am still waiting another 24-48 hours for them to call back to make an appointment for who knows how far in the future from then.

My toddler was very sick and need a nebulizer machine. I waa told by a very pleasant, knowledgeable seeming gentleman named Joseph that the nebulizer would be to my house with in 4 hours. Within 10 minutes I recieved a call form someone who said they needed the faxed order from the doctor, well not only was I standing right there when it was faxed and confirmed I then gave him the mds # and asked to call them directly and let me know if there was a problem, no return call no nebulizer EVERY showed... call and sit on hold... no answer. NO ONCALL HELP, NOTHING!!!! Terrible company wont recommend anyone use them. Ever!!!

My bf has been waiting over six months for a new bipap machine. They just keep saying its on the way, and it never comes. From now on well be going through Geroulds healthcare. Thanks for nothing apria.

Worst experience. Must have received 8 calls. Each time they would say samething in very broken english. Very difficult to understand. Each time they would say they needed to verify insurance company approval. Each time they would say the insurance office was closed. The one time I called the number while I had the guy on my cell phone from my work phone it was in the afternoon and I said they are not closed. Finally 7th call and I was told approved and the next call would be regarding delivery. 8th call comes and right back to the beginning saying they need to verify insurance. Finally at 9 oclock at night because they cant figure out from whatever country they outsourced to the time difference they called the doctor and said insurance denied and they arent approved vendor. They are on the list of approved vendors on insurance companies website. PLEASE YOU ARE LOSING MORE MONEY IN SALES THAN WHAT YOU ARE SAVING BY OUTSOURCING. I LIVE LESS THAN A MILE FROM THE BRICK AND MORTAR STORE and had to take my business elsewhere. I gave the Dr A different company to work with. Dont even attempt to do business with them. Not worth it.
