Mark Ryan repaired two heirloom pieces that were damaged in a move to Albuquerque -- a Hans J Wegner Shell Chair and a Kaare Klint Safari Chair. He did an absolutely outstanding job on both pieces. He was professional in every way, reasonably priced and arrived on time on both visits. We would have no reservations in using his services again. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend Furniture Medic; Mark Ryan, the owner and craftsman is the consummate professional! He is a wood expert and knows exactly what technique and products to use to add new life to your older kitchen cabinets! Mark made himself available to schedule my last minute kitchen cabinet rehab. He was prompt, and he was very knowledgeable and creative as he worked with my older, scratched cabinets. He figured out exactly what to do to give them new life. They look wonderful, thank you Mark!

Terrific qualifications both in formal education (furniture design and repair) as well as years of experience. Very communicative: called day after message was left, appointment reminder and upon arrival. In home repair of 4 antique tables. Repaired, tested, tweaked, tested, over and over until perfect. Offered to return if anything amiss. Amiable and pleasant. Who could want more? Hard to find a more professional and accountable guy.

Mark took on this unique project and did an amazing job. Not only did he place Belarusan legs on German mid century end tables, but he perfectly matched the color so everything looks as the originals. He is good at thinking outside the box and listening to your thoughts and needs. He is very responsive to communications and professional. I would not hesitate in using his services again or in recommending him. A side plus...nice guy.

I had a chest which was my fathers (so is precious to me), transported cross-country via a White Glove service. The transport company charged me a fortune for this one piece, as well as required I pay an additional $400 for a crate to provide extra protection. Fast forward three months; the chest finally arrived, but with significant damage to a top drawer. Additionally, no crate had ever been provided. Suffice it to say I was heartbroken. I called Mark Ryan, took the drawer to him and within days he repaired the damage, well beyond what I expected was possible. Not only is Mark extremely nice, professional and easy to work with, but hes extremely talented and knows his line of work. I highly recommend his services to anyone in need of furniture repair. I brought a rocking chair that, according to family legend, had come by wagon from Wisconsin to my great-grandfathers homestead in eastern South Dakota in the late 19th Century. This chair has significant sentimental value to our family. Many babies from at least three generations have been rocked to sleep here! A piece of the seat containing important structural aspects had broken off, making the chair as a whole very unstable. My grandfather had added some metal braces years ago that probably destroy its value as a pure antique. Our family still holds the chair with great sentimental value.I was very pleased with the informed up-front discussion about what could, and should, be done. I think we wisely decided to leave the original patina along with the original nicks and scratches, but that stabilization was the primary goal. When I came to pick it up, I was greatly impressed! It was, indeed, stabilized! Both of us sat in it! No one had been allowed to do this for many years due to its fragility! He had also carefully cleaned it up and waxed the wood. Its truly beautiful now. See the before and after photos below.

Highly recommend for several reasons. I reached out to inquire if they could help me fix the lower frame of an upholstered chair, and they were so helpful and easy to work with. Submitting photos of the damage was easy, I quickly got back a quote that was reasonable, and coordinating the drop off of the chair was super smooth. The best part for me was the care and attention that is put into the work. My chair was quite old and the project was challenging, but they were willing to take on that challenge, and were successful in repairing the chair. Probably sturdier now than when it was first made! Very grateful for this great service here in our town.

Mark did a fantastic job repairing damage caused by movers who (without my knowledge) loaded my *empty* upright hutch full of heavy boxes before shipment. As a result, two shelves were broken out, a sliding drawer in the bottom was split 38 inches side-to-side, and the right front corner badly damaged. There was also extensive cosmetic damage. Mark was able to repair the hutch in my home, affording me the privilege of watching a craftsman at work. He restored my hutch to full function and style. I would recommend his work without hesitation. Well done.

We contacted Mark to do some work on a rather old conference table of ours. He was quick to respond and came out the next day to give us an on-site evaluation to see the piece in person before providing a proposal for the work to be done. He was up front and honest and let us know that due to the construction and age of the table that while he could make it look good, he couldn’t make it look brilliant. We decided to proceed with the work and had him scheduled to come out the following week.Mark worked tirelessly, on-site, for 3 days. I do not know what kind of magic tools and extreme patience he must possess but out table looks FABULOUS! It has never looked this good. He even got us a great deal on some protective glass to complete the look and protect the table for even longer.Mark was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He was kind, professional and best of all, very honest when it came to explaining what reasonable expectations for the finished product would be. We are beyond pleased with the end results and would recommend Furniture Medic to anyone in need of furniture restoration.

Mark worked on some rare wooden headphones that i brought to him. One of them was lacquered, so he was upfront and honest that it wouldnt be perfect since that would be a bit difficult with the lacquered wood finish. I wasnt expecting that as well, and asked him to do the best he could with them. When i got them back, they exceeded my expectations! He did a great job on them with what he could do, and charged a fair price as well. I will definitely come back to him for any wood restoration needs. Thanks again!

Mark was a complete professional. My wooden hutch was moved 2,000 miles and right before it was moved into my apartment, it was left unattended by the movers and fell over in the truck. Amazingly, none of the glass panels shattered; however, the top broke into several pieces, the wood splintered apart on the interior roof and the right side of the hutch separated from the base. Mark gave me an estimate and the repairs took three hours. I love how the repaired hutch looks and its once again a beautiful and functional piece of furniture. I highly recommend Mark for his knowledge and the quality of his work.

Mark Ryan is extraordinarily talented, patient, and persevering! I brought Mark a 50+ year old Eames-style chair with significant structural problems. The chair ultimately required parts replacement of difficult-to-find parts, spring mechanism replacement, welding, stabilization of the entire chair back, and reassembly. The chair was transformed from unusable to near-new condition. This transformation took considerable time and ingenuity, and Mark kept me apprised of what needed to happen and his progress along the way. He also cleaned and restored the vinyl so it looks dramatically improved. We are very pleased with the end product and would highly recommend him!
