This is a large, spacious brewery with two outdoor seating areas and ample indoor seating. The beer selection is fantastic and runs the gamut of all beer styles. There’s a delicious food menu as well, with plenty of treats to satisfy your hunger. All are made with local flair and flavors, resulting in a memorable experience even if you’re just there for the beers and order a snack. Highly recommended!
Great place to come have dinner at and watch a sporting event, or just chill out at the beer garden. Im here in pouring rain and the band playing is still jamming out, the beer is good (from TX and we have pretty good craft there) and the crowd here on Friday is nice.Inside the Brewery - which has 2 patios - its table service. The staff there is great and friendly. At the beer garden, its bar service. Worth the detour to make as the place is nice, and the layout is good. Beer is top notch with good variety for everyones tastes. Food is very well done and not greasy. Young kids (and wife) ate it up.
I went on a Monday and had my 16 year old and 4 year old with me, it was still a very nice experience. Our waitress was very friendly. My 4 year old loves her hot dog and I did taste one of her fries and it was really flavorful and good. I orderedthe Nachos (appetizer) which were more than enough for my 16 yr old and me, we had left overs, but they were delicious. They have a good selection of beers and cream or root beer sodas for the kiddos. I enjoyed it.
Wow! If you need a place to hold an event, Rio Bravo Brewery does not disappoint. We had about 50 people here after a last ride on the Chopphearse. RBB set up a bar with nearly a dozen microbrews and homemade root beer and cream soda. They also had a Frito Pie buffet for us, which had all the fixins. Their red chile tasted like my homemade and everyone complimented the establishment on the tasty food. Servers were very accommodating and kept us with our drinks topped off. Would love to go there again!
This was our first trip to this place. Great selection of their own beers. Their brews were good because one style didnt bleed into others. There are local breweries in ABQ that over hop everything and its annoying. The style and uniquness of the beer is muttled and lost when that happens. Didnt notice that here. Relaxed atmosphere, well spaced tables, friendly staff that were VERY attentive... I was impressed. We will be returning when its gets warmer so we can enjoy their quality brews outside. This place is a must.
We came for Octoberfest; it was our first visit here. We grabbed beers and ordered 2 pretzels and 2 brats from the counter. Nothing complicated. The description of the brats was “served on a pretzel bun topped with your choice of stone ground or regular mustard”. Over 45 minutes later, still no food. I inquired at the counter. Turns out, they had served our food to someone else. At this point, if we hadn’t already paid, we probably would have cancelled the order and left. Our dinner got there about 10 minutes later. No mustard. The bun was definitely not a pretzel bun. And the hot pretzel was cold in the middle, but I was afraid to send it back out of fear I’d never see it again. Pity, because it would have been a tasty pretzel had it been hot. The brat itself and beer were decent (which is why this review is 2 rather than 1 star). What rankled was that aside from a few “very sorry”s, no attempt was made to make things right. A comped pretzel or something would have gone a long way. With the number of quality breweries in ABQ, not sure we’ll be making a return trip here.
Great, great food. Food was quick too. Highly recommend.Service was odd to say the least. Half of the bartenders seemed under the influence. No eye contact when serving. Had to wave to get attention.I would go back.
Food was decent but everything gets better after a few good beers. IPA selection was fire and the ambiance was dope. Just wished for better music and faster service from the kitchen. Waited 30 minutes for some Cheese fries and you would’ve thought they were back there growing the potatoes themselves. Overall great experience. Definitely will be back for some more brewskis though.
Great place great staff. Great beer.
Terrible service! Great food! This is our 3rd time returning always hoping it will be different. Staff is always rude and rushing us out happy to remind that “They’ll be closing soon.” When we have arrived well before last call. This is the THIRD time I have seen their backbiting nature behind the counter with other staff! I was rushed to the point where I frustratingly said “ Just bring me whatever!” And without any remorse or professionalism- she DID! Didn’t even bother to explain what beer was brought back. These kids running the place need to desperately learn that the customer is why they have a job in the first place and that they are there to serve the customer. Should not come across as an inconvenience if you still have a packed out place! Rest of the drinks were brought with no ice. The food is FANTASTIC but they service...... soo bad.
Just passing through Albuquerque and we lucked out finding this restaurant. Shockingly great food, even better beer and fabulous staff! This is a must try for any palate. I will just have to come back! Be sure to bring your four legged friends with you!
Food was decent and the beer is great but Id love to see higher quality ingredients coming out of the kitchen. All the pieces are there, if just needs put together properly.
Wonderful staff and great bar. The tacos are delicious, especially the fish tacos.
Great place to go. Went twice while I was in town for 10 days. Great service both times. Enjoyed the food, drinks and atmosphere.
The food was great. They have a good selection of beer for everyone. Great Staff too. Definitely will go there again.
Food, drinks and service were great. I had the brisket sandwich and tried the street tacos my wife order. Everything was delicious. The favorite beer was the Squirrel Nuts, however the others we tried we top notch as well.
Great selection of beer. Very friendly and helpful staff who know their stuff. Its location is a bit...well, just be assured their parking is safe and it is worth visiting.
The food and beer is really good. I had the chicken sandwich. My wife had the BLT. We would differently get them again. The beers we had were really good . Im happy to be able to go there even if you dont wear a mask. See you next time
Great place to kick it with friends, great atmosphere, friendly, delicious food and superb beverages to wash it all down.
They have a huge nice patio in the back but it isnt always open but when it is, it jams. Great set up for live music. They have a smaller patio in the front. Overall spacious place right off I40 not far from downtown. They now have an in-house grille. No more food trucks. The was good but not great. Good beer. Lots of games to entertain yourself. When things are operating normally, they have many events, one that which I attended was an adult Easter egg hunt, which was so much fun. They also support local sports UNM Lobos & NM United. Another big plus for animal lovers, pet friendly. The owner of the Brewery is also very friendly & usually always there. Adequate parking. The service isnt always that great & they serve styrofoam containers which is toxic when you heat your food both for your health & environment.
Good beer, great atmosphere. The only bummer was the lack of bartenders— the ones they had on staff were all swamped and it took about 20 minutes to get a beer sitting at the bar top. That said, the prices were fair and the food was on point. Still, we weren’t the only ones, I saw a couple others awkwardly looking around, some frustrated, as extended times for beers seemed to be the norm.
They have a great selection of drinks, the watermelon cider is to die for! Food is also really good and fresh. The only con is some of the scantily clad wait staff... It isnt Hooters and is borderline gross. Kinda ruins the atmosphere.
Very nice inside and great environment inside. The location is a bit intimidating because of its surroundings but of you park in the dirt lot it feels safer. Will definitely be going back!
Always great service and love the staff - they are super helpful and have great suggestions with which beer to try.
Food was good but service was terrible. Went on a Tuesday around 6pm with many servers available. Only to be checked on once while others around us were being checked on multiple times. Don’t feel like I need to return. Other busier breweries have way better service!
Awful Awful Beer. Bar is super cool though!!
Big place lots of parking and seating without feeling cramped. Great food and beer selections. Wait staff very friendly and, they keep tabs on you so you dont have to wait. You can also try beer selections before purchasing.
This was a delightful find (thanks to the Visit Albuquerque website). The beers, all local, were great, and the food was EXCELLENT! Service, ditto!
Stopped for dinner here during a one night stayover driving west. Great food and selection of beer. Nice outdoor patio area with heaters. All the staff were super friendly and help create a fun, laid-back atmosphere. Definitely will come back if Im in town again!
Best burgers, great street tacos and even the squirrel nut beer is great!
The portobello mushroom sandwich is the best sandwich in town! the flavor of the sauce is outstanding and the caramelized onions add amazing flavors. it’s a must try.
Not gonna lie, normally I tend to stay away from brewerys because I dont like to drink often, so I primarily come here for a restaurant purpose. Theres a reason why I come here though and look forward to coming here often. The food is overseen and made by the best chef Ive ever met. Simple little texas boy that grew up in the food industry, owns 2 catering businesses (one here and one in Texas) but still just loves the atmosphere of the kitchen and his food shows his passion and experience. The first thing I always try any time I go to a new restaurant is the chips and salsa. Growing up in New Mexico, we know what chips and salsa should look like, smell like and taste like. The reason Im so big on this is there is no simpler dish you could possibly make. Something like this tells you a lot about what youre in for and folks, they deliver on every possible level. I ate, and I ate, and I ate.... omg Im so full right now that it hurts and I cant stop. For the first time in my life, I wish I had a bigger stomach. The building itself I love. They have a huge outdoor patio, they have games and activities. The music is very comfortable and appropriate for all ages and tastes. I love the windows they have so you can actually see the machines that brew the beers. I fully believe that everyone here and coming through here should try this place, then come back again and again and again.... and again. This is THE spot in Albuquerque.
My partner and I have been coming here for a couple of years. I have not once had a bad experience. Their food and drinks are fantastic and the staff is always kind and knowledgeable. Always recommend this spot.
We really enjoyed the 9 beers we tried, including 4 IPAs and DIPAs.The Level 3 DIPA was fantastic! A 9.5 star for me!I think they forgot to pickup our $2 Tuesday tacos, as they were cold (not even the slightest bit of warm). They tasted good, but cold!I think their rotating waitstaff is a problem when it comes to food orders.
While I do like coming here for the beer and food I have have give 2 stars after my last visit. Three of us got a table and a beer and then proceeded to order our dinner. It was only 7pm and we were told by the waiter they shut down the kitchen early. It was a Friday night and the place was busy. Your kitchen hours should match your business hours. Some of us drive all the way to your establishment for a beer and a burger and get told the kitchen is randomly closed. Super disappointed and not a good business plan.
Party of 8 (including a baby but had to be seat in 2 parties) - general consensus: only one of 6 orders was decent. Tacos flavor sucked. Bruchetta had a rotten slab of prosciutto and rest quality was poor, chicken sandwich sauce ruined the burger, hotdog was reported as sweet and not good. We waited really long for the food. Terrible experience unfortunately.Beer was good, nailed the hefeweizen
Service was slow we seated ourselves at a small table in the corner, significantly smaller then all the other ones! It took a long time for drink orders to be taken And our ice water had no ice
We’ve been traveling in our RV for ten days and have made multiple stops for meals along the way. Rio Bravo for lunch was the best so far! Good...no exceptional, pub style food and beer that was fantastic. The service was far better than what we’ve come to expect in our post COVID-19 travels too. We’ll detour for another visit if we’re ever remotely in the area.
Great sandwich & tasty 🍺
Rio Bravo burger was absolutely delicious, shoe string fries were yummy and the flight was well received 😋
I give them 5 stars because of the memories of living in ABQ. I wish I could do half stars. There us a group of patrons that doesnt understand volume control. Annoying to any casual drinker. Maybe im just picky like that? Great food, great waiters/waitresses, amazing beers!
I’d first like to start off with giving praise to Luke. He’s hands down the best server/bartender at Rio Bravo. Very attentive, polite, and just provides a great guest experience. He’s a prime example of what those working in the server industry should aim to be. I would also like to mention Kristen, she’s been great as well. Now onto the beer..this place has such amazing beers. From their IPAs to their stouts, every thing is great! Food..food wise this place offers some of the most delicious “brewery food” you can ask for. The Rio Bravo burger is my go to.Lastly I would like to mention some not so positive feedback. On days or shifts where Luke isn’t working, the quality of service is disappointing. And by this I mean times where you walk in and sit down, and there’s staff all around you, and you wait for over 15 minutes and no one asks if they help you, or even a simple greeting stating they’ll be with you in a bit. Also many times has this happened where I as the customer have to finally wave down a server just to ask for a beer. It’s just very disappointing that a customer has to be the one to initiate getting served. And lastly there’s often times where some servers (males)such as Brian, that are just is just very rude. I have seen Brian interact with female guests at the brewery and provide good service but when it comes to him providing service to male customers, there’s a big difference. I get it sometimes bad service days happen but when it starts to become a noticeable pattern, that’s when it becomes a problem.
Always enjoy Rio Bravo!! Best NM Pinon coffee porter.
Food was good but service was terrible. Waiter only come around once the entire time. Never came by to see if we needed refills or extra anything.
Awesome service. Waiter was great
I recently traveled from Texas and this was by far one of the best experiences I’ve had. Heather was fantastic! She was friendly and personable. Really gave attention to what I ordered and asked me about my trip! She also had great time management! The food and beer were great! I love to travel and check out winery’s and brewery’s! Definitely recommend this place for travelers and locals! Very satisfied!
Molly, Gabe, and Peter (the entire staff is amazing i just suck at names) were all super helpful! We were double charged and I called the GM Gabe and even though he was unable to locate the second charge he took me for my word and refunded the second charge no questions asked! We come here semi often and always get Michelin 3* service. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Fantastic time! Everyone was very friendly and the food/beer was awesome!
Great list of beers. food is always good, big portions for a good price. Lots of space for a downtown brewery, especially in todays world where capacity is getting cut.
Excellent service even though we came in 20 minutes before closing. The staff was gracious and prompt with everything. Covid rules were complied with. The pulled pork sandwich was great and the beer was superior. Absolutely we will be the again!!!
Was very excited to come and enjoy myself to have my experience at a new brewery to be a total mess. No food at all. Waited a full hour to finally be told they ran out of what I ordered. They had no food available. Why are you going to advertise an event with fair food and have nothing? HORRIBLE SERVICE ALL AROUND.
Fabulous selection of awesome beers! The best service ever. Mirandas very helpful with suggestions and is always attentive. Have been several times and no matter the choice, the food is really good and doesnt disappoint. Sure glad I decided to give it a try!
Waited more than a hour for out food, and waited another 30 min for our check after we asked for it. Not busy, not slammed, no one checked on us. They are lucky I didnt walk out because I have more respect thank that. If you dont mind waiting 2 hours for service... This is the place for you.
Great beer and food....always a pleasure!
Pretty cool spot
Great beer! Great food! Great customer service! Go early because this place gets packed.
Justice was our server, he was excellent, food was great
Great beer, great food and great service! One of the best breweries in town and much better than marble!
First time visit! Beer and food was really good!
Server was so rude we just left. Management needs to understand that customers have options. Star brothers is the best option!
Very good Hefeweizen.
They have a patio going to be able to be open during the quarantine. Burger was very tasty with caramelized onions, but the bacon needed to be crispier to break apart, but it was still a good burger.
Great staff that will check up on you. Great beer, great food, and great atmosphere!
Great staff, great beer, great food, great atmosphere. Best brewery in ABQ
Amazing beer and great owners!
We recently had our wedding ceremony and reception in the brewery warehouse. They were so accommodating and helpful. The food was amazing and the venue was truly unique. They made the event painless and so easy. I would highly recommend this as an event venue.
Good beer, good service
The scheduled manager is just super nice great smile and enthusiastic on how she treats her customers..She gave us an amazing service...I will definitely visit again ...my first time here 😁
The owner gave us a grand tour of the brewery. We loved the beer and purchased a craft and 4 pack to go. We highly recommend the Rio bravo burger that melts in your mouth and the rich artichoke dip. Hats off to the new chef.
Best beer and burger in Albuquerque!
We have been cooped up in the house with this heat and We have been going nuts. We decided we needed to get out tonight and went to rio bravo to watch live music. They have always been super kid friendly and welcoming. Well we went to the bar to order and the waitress gave my son crayons and set him up with coloring books, and then they served us our food (at the bar). The manager came by about 5 minutes in and told us no kids aloud at the bar (totally fine I get it), didn’t offer to help move our food or anything and just walked away. So I grabbed all our stuff and moved it to a table. Then my son was dancing to the live music and the manager came by again and said he can sit in a high chair or stay seated at the table but he can’t be walking around (there was live music playing!) and about 10 people total in the whole place. My son is 2.5, he won’t sit in a high chair, he wanted to dance to the music, it’s all he talked about or whole way there. So I grabbed all our stuff (again) and moved it outside to finish our dinner. I’m visibly pregnant and it’s very hot out here (our house is hot so we wanted/needed some air conditioning for a bit). I’ve just never felt so unwelcome anywhere with a kid. I’m not coming back, and hope I can help other families considering this brewery save themselves future embarrassment by the management
Awsome environment and great service!!!
Great beers and a cool warehouse type atmosphere!
My absolute favorite brewery! Such a good selection of brews and I love the food. It’s also a huge space and they always have fun events.
Food was amazing
We called for curbside take out and the food, beer, and customer service was outstanding! Randy, the owner, even brought out our food to my truck! I highly recommend Rio Bravo Brewing!
Favorite hangout great service great drinks food is top notch.
Terrible. They refused us service because our table was more than 6. Our table included 5 adults and 2 kids under 6 and they said we had to sit on 2 separate tables. Ridiculous!!!! I will NEVER BE BACK!!!
Food is really good.
I love this place! Good beer and great service!
Great night of music organized by Felix and Los Gatos. Food and service unable to keep up with crowd and they lost my order. Music so good I didnt care!
No service here today. We signed in, sat down and waited 20 minutes. My wife finally waived down the server who begrudgingly took our order. 15 minutes later we left since no beer was being served.
Really cool Brewery! I love the industrial vibe. Lots of different rooms and places to do different things. Good menu.
Purchased a groupon for a travel nurse that is working there out of town. Groupon was purchased on 1/30. Wasnt able to go right away, then with covid and the social distancing she just finally tried to use it yesterday and was told they would not honor it. Too old.
I love this place open clean friendly environment. Live music and the selection of beer is awesome. I totally recommend this place for group events. Cant wait for spring to enjoy there open court yard for live music good beer and food. Come on spring.
The patio is pretty spacious with a great area for live music. The bar area is pretty open and has a great atmosphere. I like that I dont have to yell just to talk with someone. I personally liked the beer but wasnt satisfied with flavor, probably because I have started drinking more wheat beers. My friend tried their stout beer which was pretty good. Either way Id recommend this place for anyone wanting to experiance the many micro brews around town.
Yummy thanks for accommodating us with good food good people awesome owners and great beer.
Lots of cool nuances at this place, but the lack of employee headcount isnt one of them. If you sit at a table rather than the bar, you will literally never see a server. Then, when you stand at the bar, get ready to wait another 15 minutes.Theyve had like 4 servers the last three times Ive been here. The employees are hard working, they just need more of them. Come on management!
The beer was great, but what really stuck me about this place was how amazing the homemade chips and guacamole was. It was FANTASTIC! The chips are perfectly seasoned, warm, and crisp. The guacamole zesty and fresh! Pair this with ANY of their beers. Great staff as well!
John R and Regan were exceptional upon my visit on August 3rd! They made the space enticing, and overall, the brewery had an immensely positive atmosphere, facilitating the consumption of deliciously crafted alcoholic beverages. Great job!
Great patio, good beer, excellent food
